Fantasy The Academy _Dropped _

At long last, Dante had been released from the infirmary. His right wing was still mummified in bandages as a precaution, though he had been told he could remove them tonight. He made his way across the campus, back towards the girl's dorm.... It wasn't long before he found himself back at that tree that overlooked Lilian's room. Some of his feathers were still strewn across the ground, dried blood coating some of them as well as the ground and the tree itself.

"I'm lucky that didn't kill me... I have to be more careful.." He murmured, gingerly touching his wing as he remembered the intense pain he had felt. Something had become abundantly clear to him. That person was dangerous, even if he didn't seem like it at first.. He noticed Lilian making her way out of the girl's dorm, and he jogged a bit to catch up to her. "Hey... Lilian... This may sound a bit strange, but you and Masumi should probably keep your guard up for awhile.. I think someone has started to develop a very unhealthy obsession with both of you..." he informed the girl, looking around to be sure Alexander wasn't creeping around.. He did not know that Lilian had already noticed Alexander following them before.

She stops and looks at the guy that walked up to her, him being the one that decked the bulletin board last night. Lilian said with a stoic tone and unchanging face, "The fool with a superiority complex, yes I know." She pauses and seems to mirror her mother in a lot of ways at the moment, "If the imbecile attempts to harm Masumi I may have to remove his arms, seeing as how the faculty seem to nit care about what happens to their students." She was blunt with her point her not afraid of the boy in the least, her quite willing to deal with him if it comes to that...her mother's scary determination obviously within her. Lilian adds with a light bow, "You do not have to worry about me Dante," her eyes glow a dark demonic back for a moment, "If her tries anything foolish I will be certain to deal with him accordingly."

At that moment Lilian was quite frightening, her mother appearing behind her in a black mist with a stark grin on her lips, "If that idiot does anything stupid I'll personally drag him into the pits of hades." Anastasia (Her mother) pauses for a moment and then adds with a frightening smirk, "It is so lovely this time of year." She double blinks and realizes that there is a boy before her, "Oh hello dear, Siren persuasion, are you a friend of my Lilian?"

Lilian sure as hell could be intimidating... He hadn't quite expected it from her, given her usually stoic demeanor. It didn't actually scare him, though, because it wasn't directed at him, and he knew it. He blinked a little in surprise at the mist that formed behind her, at first assuming it to be Lilian's doing before a woman appeared. It was unmistakably Lilian's mother. If he had any doubts about it, her words confirmed it.

He had heard the rumors surrounding Lilian's mother, and her presence seemed to put a weight on his chest.

"Oh hello dear, Siren persuasion, are you a friend of my Lilian?"

He cleared his throat, picking his words carefully as he recalled the various rumors surrounding the woman. He shocked himself by keeping his voice level when he spoke, "I'd say we're friends. She did help me out of a dark spot not long ago... My name is Dante. Dante Enferno." he admitted rubbing the back of his head before introducing himself. Then he remembered she said she mentioned dragging Alexander into Hades... "And... if you do go after that guy.... Just let me get one crack at him first... I owe him for a cheap shot that almost cost me my wing..." He glanced over his shoulder as he unfolded his right wing, showing the bandages wrapped all around it. Then another thought occurred to him. Why did his thoughts have to be all jumbled?! Was it just the effect of Anastasia's presence? "Wait... how did you know I was a Siren?" No one ever knew that just at a glance before...

Hide sighs as he leavs his room, he was particularly hungry at this time, venturing past the park he sees a bandaged Dante, "H... Hey Dante," he says as he walks by him, opening a bottle of water he sits on a bench around fifty yards from the tree he found Dante in, taking off his hood his flower greedily absorbs sunlight, his veins turn a mixture of purple and green, lightly sprinkling some water on his flower he sits back, closes his eyes and enjoys the sunlight.

Anastasia says with a smile her replying with a hand atop Lilian's head, "Dear I have been around for many years," she pauses and says with a light laugh, "Even if I do not look it." She pauses for a moment and then smirked over at Dante for a moment before replying, "I have no problem with you dealing with the moron, but if he attempts anything toward my Lilian or her friend Masumi then I might just have to show him what real fear is." She puts on a happy go lucky smile as she places a kiss to Lilian's forehead, "I'll see you later sweetie, I'll be around." Anastasia glances over at Dante and adds, "You to cutie, try not to get killed now." With that she vanishes in the same black mist.

Lilian watches as her mother disappears, waving as she does so, "See you later mother." Simply meeting her mother would pretty much show you where Lilian got her stoic determination and lack of fear from, her mother comparable to a maelstrom or something worse. Lilian looked over at Dante and said with a light nod, "Your rival may be a moron, although I doubt that he is dumb enough to mess with me." She pauses and then adds with a emotionless laugh, "Well I might be giving it to much credit."

"You to cutie, try not to get killed now."

Dante's cheeks turned a light shade of crimson.... -Cutie? Was she just flirting with me? No... couldn't be... Not possible...- He shook the thought from his mind. Looking up as Lilian spoke. "I wouldn't call him my rival... But I get the distinct impression he's tougher than he looks. He used light magic and holy water when he attacked me, and the spell he used wasn't exactly a basic one...." He mused, rubbing his wing as he remembered the intense pain. "I may be reading too much into it, but I have a bad feeling about all of this... Either way... I just wanted to let you know so you and Masumi could be on guard... Last thing I want to see is anyone else getting hurt like this" He touched his wing, still sensitive as it recovered from the horrific injury he had sustained. He had no clue what Alexander's game was. If he knew.. He'd realize that this was just the beginning before things all went to hell...

Lilian replied with a shake of her head, "His arrogance will be his undoing, fools over estimate their abilities, and the true fools make multiple enemies." There was truth in her words, and this guy seriously as indeed a fool incarnate. First he pissed off Dante, then he crosses Anastasia, and now Lilian has no qualms in removing his arms if he attempts to do anything to Masumi. Crossing students is one thing but crossing someone that strikes fear in demon lords is indeed a very catastrophic blunder, even if he does have plans and allies...I mean really, class A idiocy. With that said she adds with a nod, "Regardless I do not intend on allowing him to disrupt my day, worrying about when he will attempt more idiocy only feed his delusional ego." Lilian double blinks looking at Dante, saying, "The truly sad thing is that he thinks students here will hoist him up as a hero if he kills in cold blood, in truth he is the victim of his own delusions."

She does a long pause and then seals it off with a nod, "But that won't stop me from annihilating him if he touches Masumi."

Dante nodded in agreement. "That's assuming there's anything left of him after he gets a taste of my left hook... I owe Masumi a lot for all she's done for me" he remarked, his left arm taking on its Demon form for emphasis. This would be the first time Lilian has seen it. "But you're right, we shouldn't waste our time worrying when he will strike next. I won't let my guard down next time just because he seems like an idiot.." He shakes his head. Somehow, the girl before him always seemed to be right about everything. It was strange... she seemed wise beyond her years. He couldn't really help but respect her.

Alexander sure was making powerful enemies...

Lilian looks at the arm that the guy materialized and simply blinked, then looked up at him once more saying with a nod, "I thank you, although he will not be able to do anything as of right now she is safe in the dormitory." With that she bows to the boy, saying as she does so, "Now if you will pardon me, I should attend Home Ec today." She straightens back up and starts toward the school building, on her way to her second period class which she rarely goes to seeing as how it's not a mandatory attendance class. She didn't display any kind of reaction to his arm, good or bad, almost like she has seen stranger things in her short life. The simple fact that her mother is Anastasia would hint at her knowing many people that are on the scary side so such things may be normal to her.

So with that she is on her way to Home Ec, which is a group class that includes all years of students although it is not one that many male students would take for obvious reasons.

He nods. "Alright then, see ya around!" he remarked watching her leave. Somehow, he wasn't surprised she didn't react to his demon arm. Nothing really seemed to unsettle that girl. He watched her leave, his arm returning to normal for now. At least he didn't have to worry about Masumi for now. If she was in her room, nothing could touch her there.. Alexander wouldn't be able to get at her, so she was safe, and Lilian could more than take care of herself. So there was nothing to worry about....

Right?...

@Mediocritys Muse

Lilian sits at the station and looks on as a few other students walk into the class, her wondering if they show up regularly or not. This being a class that most simply sighn up for and never come to, them only interested in the credit that comes along with it. Although she took it for the same reason mostly, but she does enjoy learning new things in her day to day life so if there is something that she does not know she will definitely attempt to figure it out. While it is true that she can cook, she however doesn't have unlimited knowledge on the subject which explains her interest in the Home Economics class. She however does figure that some students that take the class have no know how in the kitchen, which would explain their interest in the class.

So for the moment she simply sits at her table and awaits the class to start, the sparse number of students now entering the class.

Mid day. 1-2 pm

@Ellie the Knight

Lilian walks out of the schools main doors and looks around the courtyard, it seeming like most of the students are on their way to their dorms or the cafe area. She simply stood there for a moment looking out at the lot of them hastily on their way, and in a sense it was pretty erratic as if they were in a hurry. With that little tidbit in mind she makes her way to the girls dorms, her having said that she would check on Masumi after she was done with classes. The whole day she was wondering if she was doing well or not, oddly enough her being the one thing that she had thought about all day. After a solid amount of time she made her way through the throngs of students and into the dorms, and eventually to Masumi's dorm room.

She knocks on the door yet again and speaks in her usual tone, "It's me Lilian, may I come in?" Lilian awaited a response, her knowing that entering another persons room without permission wasn't really nice.

Sick Day

---

Once Lilian had left, she found herself much more relaxed then before and managed to fall asleep. For how long she was not sure, but strange dream's filled her mind. Like, most time's when one is sick. A knock on her door wakes her from her dream of triangles. Looking up she hear's a voice from behind the door. Before she call tell the person to enter, her door opens. But instead of the usual Lilian, it was the post. A small girl entered her dorm. "Miss MIzukawa?" She asks. Masumi looks over at her as she walks in. "Yes? That's me." She says with her usual smile. The girl walks over and places an envelope on her nightstand beside her, bows, and walks out of the room. Leaning over, she takes the envelope in her hands and is about to open it when another knock comes from her door. This time, Lilian's voice came from behind it. "Yeah! Come on in!" She exclaims.

Lilian walks in when she is told to, her seeing that Masumi seems to have stayed in the bed as she asked. She asked as she made her way inside, "Are you feeling any better Mi?" As she awaited an answer she noticed that she had some form of letter in her hand, Lilian cocking her head as she noticed this. She didn't seem to recall her having one around when she was hear last, which meant that this letter must have came in while she was away. Curiosity got the better of her as she asked, her double blinking as she does so, "Did some one write you Mi?"

The one one that would write Lilian would be her mother and father, but most of the time mother would simply visit when allowed and father wasn't that much of a write in the first place. Although she did get the odd letter from her cousin Mio, but those letters have become more infrequent as she is currently in university. So with that in mind she awaits Masumi's response.

Sick Day

---

Nodding, Masumi sits up in bed leaning on the back board. "Yeah, a little. Thanks to you sweetie." She smiles. It was probably Lilian's interventions that actually did make her feel slightly better. Rather than study all day she was taken care of. Looking down at the envelop. Her mother's name was on the return address. Wide eyes and a happy expression cross Masumi's face as she sees this. Then, she excitedly opens the envelop. "Yes! My mother did! I haven't heard from her in quite some time.." Taking the parchment out of the envelop. She unfolds it, and starts reading down the lines of hand written text.

"My dearest daughter,

I'm so sorry, but I cannot make it to your little parental get together this week.

Something, came up sweetie.

I wanted to tell you in person but it doesn't seem that is possible now.

And I don't want to hold out on the truth, you should know."

A confused expression replaces the happy one on her face a moment ago.

"It has to do with your father.

There is no easy way to say this but

Honey...

He was killed, two day's ago.

The police are investigating, and believe he was murdered.

I'm so sorry..

You know he meant the world to both of us, and I'm so sorry I can't be there to hold you now.

But be strong now, I will be there as soon as I can Masumi.

I love you

-Mom"

The look of confusion now vanished, as tear's ran down Masumi's cheeks and onto the paper she held. How could this have happened? Why now? Why did someone kill her father. The kind, gentle man she knew. Why would someone want to hurt him? Sure, he had left. But he was still her father. Lying back down, she bury's her face into a pillow and weep's quietly. It was bad enough as it was. But Lilian was standing there. Probably wondering what exactly had just happened.

@Mediocritys Muse

@Ellie the Knight

Lilian simply double blinks as the look on Masumi's face quickly turned for the worst, her seeing that this was not happy news for her. She did not know what the letter entailed but it was obvious-even to her-that something bad had happened, the severity being rather high if the reaction is used to judge it.With that in mind Lilian sat down on the edge of the bed and simply patted Masumi's hair, seeing that if nothing else she needed someone right here with her at the moment. Lilian isn't one that is accustomed to showing of emotion but she knew at this moment that she should stay here and be there for the girl that she considers her friend. She however had no idea what was written in the letter and for that matter didn't think on asking her what it entailed, that being Masumi's choice to divulge.

"I can't be weak anymore..." Dante murmured to himself, looking down at his left hand before clenching it into a fist. That was twice, in too short of a time that he had been too weak... And Alexander... Something was off about him... His mood changes were.... so sudden and violent... But more importantly... Alexander had demonstrated immense power... He couldn't let his guard down again. He couldn't let himself be weak again... Next time... what if someone else got caught in the crossfire?

He had wandered into a clearing behind the girl's dorms. It wasn't the same one Masumi liked to frequent, however. This one had thick trees surrounding it that made access difficult, except from the air. Just in case Alexander returned, he wanted to be close enough to intervene.

"Never again...." He growled holding his left arm in front of him. His energy started to pulse, swirling around his arm as it took on its Demonic form. He looked at his hand. "I can't just sit back and hope this will be enough.... I got to push this further..." He murmured, focusing all of his energy onto his arm... His aura started to concentrate into his arm, like a swirling vortex, spreading up to his chest and up over his neck.

He gritted his teeth sharp pains shooting through his body as his aura crackled, as if filled with electricity. "Just... a little.... more..." He hissed through clenched teeth, his eyes flickering between normal and full red demon eyes... Slowly, the aura seemed to try and stabilize, trying to take solid form like the rest of his arm.

He screamed, the aura suddenly causing a small explosion that staggered him. He had failed.... His demon arm was gone, and blood trickled from gashes on his chin, neck, chest, and all down his arm. He roared and punched a tree with his uninjured arm, panting to try and catch his breath from the intense pressure he had put on his own body.

"Why can't I do this?! This isn't magic... this is my own damn body!... and it's fighting against me..." He gritted his teeth, furious at himself for being unable to master the next level of his Demon Arm. He had always felt there was a level beyond what he had now, but he had never been able to attain it. Every attempt he had made wound up the same, to the point he had given up on it... but now, there was a real and present danger...

Alexander was out for blood....

And unbeknownst to Dante, that little exorcist was little more than a pawn...

The worst had yet to arrive.

Tear's flowed into her pillow, like river's flow into the ocean. Damp, wet, and warm. Her face was flushed, and every now and then she would take little gasps of air. Followed by more sobbing. But, the gentle hand of Lilian stroking her hair was reassuring. This day turned from good, to terrible just by reading a couple of words. Finally after a few moment's, whimper's turned into sighs, and tear's ran dry. Every now and then, a small sniff would come from under the pillow. But having calmed down now, she was able to speak. "Sorry..." She whisper's turning her head to the side of her pillow. Her face was flushed red, and moist from tear's as she looked up at Lilian. Her same, emotionless expression greeted her. For a moment she felt insulted, but then calmed. Lilian's deep ruby eyes seemed calm. Even if they were not, she would never do it on purpose. That was just how she was. Taking her sleeve of her shirt, she wipes her eyes. "Something... Happened."

@Ellie the Knight

Lilian simply blinked a few times replying with a slight nod, "There is nothing to be sorry about Mi." She paused as she heard Masumi speak yet again, her sounding rather sad at the moment. By the amount of tears she expelled and the length of time it took her to stop crying Lilian had a good guess as to what had happened, her witnessing something similar before. She looks to the window and states in her stoic tone, "You lost someone." Lilian witnessed someone react the same way when they last someone dear to them, the person being her cousin way back when.

She knew what it entailed but she herself does not have experience in such matters...her feeling rather unqualified at the moment.Lilian looked back at Masumi and elaborated, "Mio, my cousin reacted the same way when she lost her mother." She pauses and then added with a light nod accompanied with a uncharacteristic smile, "She said having me around helped...so I'll be here for you as well Mi."

123_zpso1tz9sri.png

Nodding inside her pillow, she feels a slight relief come over her when Lilian said she would stay. For how long she didn't know but for now she wasn't alone. Also, It seemed that she slightly understood what was going on, based on another loved one losing their mother. "Thanks.. It mean's a lot to me." She says from under her pillow. With a small sigh, she decides to finally sit back up, leaning on the bed head again. "So.. Mio.. Shes your cousin?" She asks trying to make small talk. She felt as if she could burst out crying again at any moment and just wanted to take her mind off of the idea that her father was... Taking a deep breath she pushes the thought out of her mind and concentrates on Lilian.

She nods and sits next to Masumi, her replying, "Yes, but not by blood." With that said she adds looking over at Masumi, "Growing up she had a crush on me," she pauses and adds with a slight tilt to her head, "She was something like a bigger sister to me in a way." Lilian paused and looked toward the wall yet again, her simply adding with a slight tilt to her head, "In actuality I think she was what most would consider one's first kiss in regards to myself." It was quite obvious that Lilian didn't mind sharing anything from her past, or at least she didn't see a problem with it at all. She looked over at Masumi once more and asked with a few blinks, "Who was your first kiss Mi?"

123_zpso1tz9sri.png

A small mischievous giggle comes from Masumi as Lilian explained the situation between her and her cousin. "First kiss hu? Let's see.." She think's for a moment. She has had lot's of "First Kisses" But none of them she ever fell through with. Either she or the other person would draw away, and say things were moving to fast. Or it wasn't right.. "Belive it or not, It was you." It was strange now that she thought about it. The thought had never crossed her mind as to why Lilian was different. Was she expecting it? Or did she already plan on kissing her before she did.. The thought puzzled her for a moment. Then, realizing she was probably over thinking it, cracks a joke. "You're fist kiss was with your cousin? Does that mean I'm not special?" She asks with a pretend pout.

@Mediocritys Muse

@Ellie the Knight

"Special," she simply said aloud as Masumi posed the question with what looked like a pout . Lilian hadn't really thought much about it but she did in fact feel that Masumi was more special that those in the school, seeing as how Lilian comes back to talk with her frequently. The fact of the matter being that last year she didn't really speak with anyone in the school, her being engrossed in school work and simply keeping to herself. With that in mind she wondered what she should say at the moment, her not being adequately qualified to deal in such situations. So for the moment she just figured she's go on instinct and not over think things at the moment.

With that in mind Lilian leaned in and placed a soft kiss to Masumi's lips, her lingering there for a moment and then pulling away saying, "I'd say you are." She says this with a slight sprinkle of red in her cheeks, instinct taking over at that moment in lou of her usual self.

123_zpso1tz9sri.png

A small giggle came from Masumi as Lilian contemplated the idea. it seemed that she took almost everything seriously. Which was actually cute most of the time. About to say something she looks at Lilian. But, she seemed to be drawing in. Blinking a couple times before she feel's her lips embrace hers once more. The familiar feeling that the two shared yesterday was upon her once more. Though, it was the other party who had initiated the act of affection this time, Masumi closes her eyes. They lingered there for a moment. At this point, it was clear that they were 'more' than friends. Or, at least it was leaning that way. As Lilian pull's away, Masumi open's her eyes again. Spotting the slight red on her cheeks, was less embarrassed of the red on hers as well. A light chuckle comes out of her. "Well, I suppose I have to be for that to happen." She says, slightly pointing out the slight red in Lilian's cheeks.

@Mediocritys Muse

@Ellie the Knight

Lilian cocked her head to the side and placed her hand on her cheek, them feeling a bit warm at the moment. She paused after she did so and then sat back on the bed, looking over at Masumi, her asking after the short silence, "This may be horrible timing." In truth she wondered about this, and to a certain extent she wondered what she would be like if someone close to her would vanish as well. Having never to have dealt with this herself she can not possibly know how Masumi feels at the moment. The only thing she knew was that thinking of other things helps out, having been told that by her cousin. After a short pause she asked with a slight double blink, her once red cheeks now back to their normal shade, "What am I to you?"

Evidently this was not the time to ask such a thing but Lilian figured it would be something to divert Masumi's attention from her problems, her deciding to ask at this moment rather than wait as she had previously planned.
