"I agree on that Kupo!" Mog replied to his ally. He performed dance after dance. He did his best to help his allies while avoiding getting injured. " We must not lose hope Kupo!"
"Of course." The swordsphere bounced over one of the sandworms, wings and cape billowing out behind him. "This should be the last one...." To be fair, worms were just...well, worms. The worst they could do was what exactly? Throw sand everyone? Either way, Meta Knight stabbed the last annoying critter one last time before it receeded back under the sands. Kaiju CatSirPrompto15
One by one Joker shot down the Kamek clones, a resounding gunshot for each magician struck down. Though Ageng Three themselves wouldn’t see it as they focused solely on building up enough ink. I’m reality it’s may have only been a few seconds but whilst in the chaos of battle every single second left counted. They certainly didn’t doubt that Joker could splat enemies better than even the best inklings out there but that mattered little when they were in the gapping maws of an army. So if Agent Three didn’t want to become fried calamari then they’d better build up ink like their life depended on it.
In this deep concentration they’d hear Paula’s worried voice enter their mind once more, asking if there was anything else she could do to aide in their escape. The sentiment was as sweet as a squiddymelon but at the moment there didn’t seem to be all that much else left to take care of. Though, now that they thought about it…humans had bones right? Like, super brittle bones. The type of bones that’d break if they were dropped from a really high height? The inkling spared a glance up at Joker. Someone as all around fresh as him probably would be able to figure something out. He had a grappling hook right? Still, letting their friend fall to his death was probably not something to leave up to chance. Just in case it wouldn’t hurt to give the others a heads up in case things did go awry.
[Prepare for rough landing!]
What Paula could do in specific, Agent Three didn’t have a clue but nevertheless it probably was a good idea to at least prepare her and the others. That is if they could just super jump already! Thankfully before the squid knew it Joker had successfully taken out all of the clones, leaving his weapon pointed right towards the real Kamek. With this encouragement, Agent Three felt a surge of energy. Eyes scrunched up, they could finally feel the ink reach it’s breaking point. They were ready to fly!
Like a rocket ship setting off, a loud fizzling came from beneath Agent Three’s tentacles as they prepared for launch. With success just on the horizon, they’d yell out a confident “Woomy!” as they counted down in their mind. Lift off in three….two….one…Blast off- wait why was the sky dark?
*BOOM*
Just as their tentacles lifted off from the ground, Agent Three would be sent right back down, the shockwave of Bowser hitting the floor forcing the Inkling out of their squid form and back into kid mode.
“Mweh!”
Knocked to their butt, the agent scrambled back to Joker’s side only to freeze under the sight of Bowser. For someone who was known for his fiery breath, Agent Three was caught off guard by the freezing cold voice that came out from the turtle’s jaws. It was filled with nothing but simmering anger, for which the reason was rather obvious to everyone here. Agent Three and Joker had done goofed I’m thinking they could escape from Bowser’s territory without think the king himself would catch wind. And needless to say he wasn’t the slightest bit pleased.
With a loud stomp Inkling was nearly knocked back down once again, desperately holding onto Joker’s arm to keep the slightest bit of balance. All of that work building up a squid jump thrown into the drain, and it was clear that Bowser wasn’t going to let them get another chance. In fact, he seemed completely compared to put an end to all of this, including the two of them. If that was how things were going to go then the inkling wasn’t going to go down with a fight. Reaching out for their Splattershot, the inkling raised it towards Bowser as he prepared his attack. It was a fruitless effort, as Bowser had the quicker draw and surely would put an end to the squid and thief before they’d even be able to reach for the weapon. But, as Inkling squeezed their eyes in preparation for the end, they’d soon realize that the attack never landed. A lone Koopatroopa’s frantic cry stole away Bowser’s attention, saving the two from certain doom.
As Bowser furiously shouted back, the Inkling could hear another voice. No, not an voice, it couldn’t be. Three’s ink went cold. That was a roar. A primal, animalistic, and thundering roar.
—————
—————
Suddenly the entire battlefield became enveloped in shadow as something flew above them. Whatever it was, it had to be ginormous, as big as a skyscraper! Three along with just about everyone else there quickly went into high alert, waiting for whatever this thing was to make it’s landing. Though, with all eyes on the thing in the sky, Agent Three noticed that nobody was paying any attention to Joker and them anymore. It’d be quite a shame for Bowser if they were to slip away right about now wouldn’t it?
Shaking away the fear Inkling fell back into squid form and wrapped a tentacle around Joker’s ankle. Drawing upon all of their energy and strength, the squid began to hurriedly build up ink once more, trying their hardest to ignore the thing in the sky finally making its landing and the panic that’d come from realizing just what that thing was. A mighty beast with jagged spikes and razor sharp teeth. A monster that the fighters had fought against once before and prayed to never encounter again. A Rathalos. Yet as much as the Inkling was included to stare on in awe and horror, there were much more pressing matters, like getting out of here!
If Agent Three had been in their kid form, they surely would have covered their ears as the beast let out another thundering roar. The resulting shockwave would have surely sent the squid flying if it weren’t for their tentacle holding onto Joker for dear life. Thankfully Three managed to stay in squid form as they’d feel themselves nearly reaching their limit. So close! Just a little bit more-
The squid’s cartoonishly large eyes somehow managed to grow even bigger as they felt that tipping point finally be reached. It was time to bounce!
Like a bottle rocket, Agent Three blasted off with a loud woosh, leaving an ink trail behind as they and the thief they dragged along shot past the canopy of trees and into the sky. If Joker had managed to hang on to Three’s tentacle then he’d be a fool to even think of letting go now as they were currently hundreds of feet in the air, getting the perfect bird’s eye view of the chaos down below. In actuality, to call it chaos would be a huge understatement. Bullet Bills, fireballs, and helpless minions all were sent flying across the battlefield as Bowser’s army attempted to vanquish the might beast. It certainly wasn’t the prettiest sight but before the squid could even think about doing something the two were sent crashing towards the squid beakon set up down below, about to make a very violent reunion with the rest of the jungle crew.
Just moments before they’d hit the forest trees Inkling finally let go of Joker’s foot and exited out of their squid form. The force of hitting stray the branches vines made the ink wince and cover their face for protection. Though still they’d managed to pull out their Splattershot as they fell closer to the earth. Paula, Cloud, and Cloud’s black haired friend would surely notice the sudden rain of orange ink coming from above as the area surrounding the beaken quickly became drenched in the substance. Yet not a moment after the squid finally made their landing right atop it, crushing the machine to pieces.
“Awmei!”
Agent Three frantically whipped their head around to confirm they’d landed in the right place and weren’t in some other part of the forest. Once their eyes landed on the team, that prior panic soon melted away.
—————
—————
A wide beaky smile stretched across their cheeks, as they did a back a backflip before quickly going into a spinning bird kick, landing into a power stance and pointing a finger up to the sky. While basking in their victory they couldn’t help but mentally quote a certain someone….
But they couldn’t have done it without a whole lot of outside help. Eyes falling on Paula the inkling left their power stance and charged at the girl, swooping her into their arms and swinging her about in joy.
“WOOMYWOOMYWOOMYWOOMYWOOMY!!”
If it hadn’t been for Paula getting the beaken up then Agent Three and Joker would have been toast! Speaking of Joker, the inkling set down the likely now dizzy Paula as they scanned the area for any sign of the Thief. Hopefully he had managed to make it down safely.

It was concerning that none of the others seemed to recall the promise they had made. Had the toad lied to him then? He vaguely could remember something that had been said between all the fighters the last time they met yet what it was had long escaped his brain. Maybe this whole thing had been a trick from the start then and his thoughts on the mushroom person had been correct. Did that mean his home was under attack? A brief stint of panic rose in his chest, but it was short lived. No, he wasn't assured his island wasn't the target of an attack or anything like that, but rather his mind was forced to switch gears as Falcon pulled him aside. He hardly had time to process what was going on, but he really didn't need to. Listening to Falcon go about how Shadow had amnesia, the dinosaur tilted his head. He supposed it could be true if this was actually Sonic, though he had already been convinced he wasn't. Still, he'd play along. It was less trouble after all.
"Yoshi agree. If friend Sonic has lost memories then friends must be there for him," Yoshi said as he bobbed his head to his own words. Even if this wasn't Sonic, this hedgehog looked like he needed some friends to be there for him. The angry expression, the edgy appearance, it screamed "I am so lonely and have no friends." It was sad. Glancing towards Shadow, the dino couldn't help offering a smile in his direction. He truly felt sorry for him, whether that was from Falcon's exaggerated reactions or simply the view he had of him, it was uncertain, but nevertheless those feelings existed.
Letting his gaze move back to Falcon and Link, Yoshi scratched at his cheek for a moment before an idea popped into his mind and his face seemed to light up. "Yoshi have idea!" he exclaimed as he began to bounce up and down in his place. "If Yoshi's memory is right and we were all supposed to meet here, friends should find other friends at big Stadium! If we go there, maybe we have picnic and one of other friends can make Sonic's favorite food! Friend surely remember things after having tasty food, right?!" Maybe he was thinking too much about filling his stomach, however, it didn't seem like a bad idea. He needed to know if the toad from before was lying to him after all and this seemed like the best solution he could come up with on the spot.
For the moment his gun seemed to hold Kamek at bay, but there was no telling how long his threat would last. Even so his aim did not waver. His pistol remained calmly aimed towards the mage. His posture and expression held their threatening auras, though only for the moment. Feeling himself momentarily lift from the ground as their jump began, he was immediately forced back down by the shockwave that came from their new threat. Ren knew exactly what it was even without looking. Grimacing beneath his mask, he steadied himself on his feet and swiftly shifted himself to face Bowser, pistol still held high. Pointing its barrel in the Koopa King's direction, a sharp breath escaped the teen's lips. Even with his weapon held high, he knew he was in no position to act. It was exactly why he had wanted to escape before Bowser had made an appearance, but things could never play out perfectly.
Hiding his irritation, Joker listened as the king spoke, even throwing a compliment his way, which caused the thief to softly scoff. Brief praise was quickly pushed aside by insults. It was true, he was no Mario, though he saw himself as stronger than him. Whether others wanted to believe that or not was their own opinion. Ren hardly cared. Brushing it aside, the teen stayed silent, having no words for the Koopa King. Given his situation, it was best to keep his mouth shut and avoid more issues from arising. It wasn't just his life at stake. He had to keep Inkling's safety in mind to. Feeling the ground shake again as Bowser stomped on the ground, the thief kept himself firmly planted though he felt his entire body shudder from the ground's harsh vibrations. This was bad. Glancing towards Inkling as she held onto his arm for balance, Joker's mind began to race, thinking through possibilities of how they could still escape, yet none came. Without Arsene's power for this exact moment, they lacked the manpower to hold the Koopa King back. He had messed up.
As everything seemed to look grim, the shouts of a koopa echoed out across the current battlefield. Something was coming. His mind immediately thought Morgana had arrived, but given the roar that soon bellowed out, all thoughts of it being his own reinforcements went out the door. Whatever was coming was an entirely different beast. Was that a good or bad thing? Joker wasn't sure, and honestly, he hardly wanted to find out, but he had no choice.
Watching as the Rathalos swooped in overhead and loomed over the battlefield, the thief let his eyes move to it for a moment. He recalled hearing some of the other fighters describe a beast like this before after he had managed to join them in their fight against Galeem, but he personally had never seen one before. Judging from its appearance, in his current state he wouldn't be able to fight it anyways. Again, his lack of Arsene was coming back to bite him in the ass. No gun or knife was going to put much of a dent into something like that. Seeing Bowser's army jump on the offensive, Ren couldn't do anything other than stare, until it hit him, this was their saving grace.
Inkling seemed to pick up on that before him. Feeling a tentacle wrap around his ankle, Joker broke his gaze from the monster and moved it to his companion. It seemed she was preparing another jump, though unfortunately for him, it seemed he was going to be dragged along by his leg rather than in his hunched over position from before. How fun. He'd have to live with it. For now all he could do was mentally prepare himself for getting airborne.
Quickly holstering his pistol, Ren's hands moved to his ears to cover them as the Rathalos roared out. Its cries were deafening, even more so than that of the boss of Futaba's palace. It was horrible to be reminded of such shrieks, but there was nothing he could do about it. His thoughts were soon interrupted anyways as he felt himself being pulled from the ground.
Feeling his feet fly out from beneath him, he felt his upper body fall towards the ground. Moving his hands from his ears, he wrapped his arms around his head to protect it in case it got too close to the ground in their lift off. Luckily for him, he didn't have to bang his head against the ground. Finding himself completely airborne, a sigh of relief escaped Ren's lips, although it was a temporary moment of relief. He was still dangling upside down after all. Feeling the blood rushing to his head, his relief was quick to vanish and be replace with discomfort. He needed to flip himself around, though with Inkling's grip on his ankle, it was nearly impossible. Instead, he was forced to look down upon the chaos beneath them, all while beginning to feel lightheaded. Despite all that though, the thief couldn't help feeling a pang of guilt as he watched the scene below. He couldn't feel bad now. This was the best outcome they could have asked for. Taking in a deep breath, he closed his eyes, doing his best to keep himself from passing out from his current situation.
It felt like an eternity before Agent Three let go of his ankle, but the moment she did, Joker's eyes shot open and without hesitation, he allowed himself to move freely. He didn't have much time before he'd fall into the jungle's waiting canopy, but it was enough to at least get him upright. Seeing Inkling disappear into the greenery first, the thief was soon to follow. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't as small as the squid, making it even harder for him to avoid the branches and shield himself as he fell. Branches scratched against his exposed arms, opening new wounds, although they were nothing compared to what he had received before.
Having little time to care about them, he still needed a plan of how he was going to land and fast. Glancing above him, he spotted an easy to aim at tree and quickly moved his arm upwards before releasing his grappling hook. Feeling the cord tighten as the hook lodged itself into the trunk, Ren's movements downward immediately shifted into forward momentum. Swinging towards the tree, he put his legs out in front of himself to avoid faceplanting into it. The impact from his feet meeting the trunk was enough to cause him to grunt. Pain still lingered in his legs despite the healing that had been provided before, though he pushed it aside for now and lowered himself onto the nearest branch before retracting his grappling hook.
"Now I just have to get down," he mumbled to himself. Peering over the edge of the branch, he couldn't see the ground below, indicating he still had a ways to go before he reached the bottom. How troublesome. Still, he was thankful for the position he was in. Despite how big of a gamble he had made, he had made it out with Inkling. His heroic deeds hadn't been all for nothing. That was all that mattered. Now all he needed was to find his way to the jungle floor again, and hopefully be reunited with the others. Surely he hadn't strayed too far off course.
Pushing that concern aside, Joker jumped from his place and began his descent downwards. His jumps were precise and nimble, showing he was wary of which branches would be able to support his weight and which would not. The last thing he needed was one to snap beneath him and cause him to plummet to the ground below. He had enough injuries as is, he didn't need more.
As he moved along, static began to pick up in his earpiece again and soon was followed by Morgana's familiar voice. "Joker, your location just quickly changed, are you alright?!" Chuckling softly at the feline's concern, he paused his jumps for a moment to allow himself to respond. "I'm fine. Reroute to my current position and I'll give you orders then." The thief's request was clear and thankfully no protests came out from the other end. "We'll be there soon then, and Ren, you better be fine!" Hearing Ann's voice speak his actual name caused the boy to freeze. So that was the angry individual Morgana had mentioned earlier. He wasn't sure whether to be happy or scared, though he supposed it didn't matter either way. Letting a soft sigh escape his lips, he ruffled his hair momentarily before responding, his voice much softer than it had been before. "I promise, I will be." He was well aware such a promise already wasn't necessarily true, but it would at least keep her from worrying too much about him in the meantime. That was enough for him. Hearing the other end go silent again, Ren took that as his sign to continue on.
Again, he began his descent and soon enough the jungle's ground came into view, along with the silhouettes of the others. Finding a smile curling at the ends of his lips, Joker quicken his pace, purposefully missing a few branches here and there to get himself closer to his goal. With one last leap, the thief burst through the foliage overhead and landed a few feet away from the others. Turning to face them, a smirk returned to his face and he stood confidently before them, despite the clear injuries that could be seen from his treetop adventures. "Miss me?" the thief chuckled as he lifted a hand to rub the back of his head. His usual cockiness seemed to melt away in an instant and a toothy grin formed. "Glad to see we're all here in one piece now."
Jeff grins he shuffles over to Toon Link and Pit he begins dancing to the rhythm of the music. It was heartwarming to his soul he bobbed his head and twirled his waist getting deep into the music. All of a sudden his cheeks turned a reddish tint. His shyness complex returned; he probably made a fool of himself in front of his companions for his poor performance skills. “ Hehe.” He chuckles rubbing his blonde locks embarrassed, he’s an engineer not a dancer. He could spend hours working on his project without a wink of sleep nor eating a full meal all day. His dad would have to remind him to eat and sleep because the boy goes a day without food or drink or a full night’s rest because he wants to finish his work. Pit’s mischievous move on Pyra didn’t go unnoticed by Jeff; there's no denying she’s a pretty lady.
He noticed Lapras judging by Toon Link jumping for joy it was to summon it. The Lapras looked like Tessie he used to get to the south side of Winters. “ What’s that? I rode something similar to them while crossing over the lake with the bubble monkey. ” Lapras looked really cute like Tess. He wonders if it’s friendly like Tessie. After hearing Paula’s telepathic call for help, his circumstances were traveling to Threed where Ness and Paula were locked up.

"You bet we missed you Dude!" Prompto replied cheerfully. " Poor Noct too!" " You don't have to go into details Prompto!" Noctis spat before to face Joker. " Glad you and the Inkling are both still in one piece."
Shaking her head at Pit's apology, Pyra knew that he had no reason to be sorry. Making her redfaced was really no big issue, though it was admittedly quite embarrassing. She would be fine though. Embarrassment would pass after all. Luckily it did come to pass quickly. Seeing the mood seemingly shift, the redhead noticed everyone had gone silent. It seemed her suggestion hadn't been well received, though she hardly minded. It was a mere suggestion after all and she hardly thought it would be the best plan for them. For all she knew, the pirates wouldn't take kindly to them trying to take one of the smaller boats, especially after the beating they had taken. Still, it had at least gotten the wheel turning to look for some kind of alternative solution. That was all that mattered.
Allowing herself to ponder their options as well, Pyra found herself coming up empty handed. Finding solutions here wasn't the same as finding them back in Alrest. If something like this arose, her group would usually try and find a titan ship to use, or if Azurda was his usual self, they'd use him, but neither of those options were open to them here. Titans weren't plentiful in the Smash Realm, which was not surprising. This was a world like no other after all.
Any bright ideas, Mythra? Pyra asked, wondering if the other aegis would have any input. Her silence left the fire blade doubting it though. Either the blonde was taking her time thinking or she was simply ignoring her. It was like Mythra to do either, though the former seemed more likely in the moment. Surely, the other wasn't butt hurt over Pyra denying her the right to slap their companions for their previous comments, but then again, that was a very Mythra thing to do. Luckily, the silence was soon broken. I dunno. It's not as if there is much we can do in this situation. The sea isn't our forte. She had a point, though it left them at square one.
Before she could bury herself too deep in her own thoughts, her attention shifted to Toon Link as he seemed to have some kind of plan. Watching him spread some kind of bait in the water, Pyra couldn't help but tilt her head in confusion. What was he planning? That was when he pointed his baton in their direction. At first, she remained confused on what he wanted, but when Pit moved forward and a violin manifested, it clicked. He wanted them to play. She wasn't sure what it was meant to accomplish, but she saw no harm in it, although she admittedly had never played an instrument before. Still, she'd at least try to be helpful.
Moving over to join the group, Pyra allowed herself to begin humming along with the melody, though as the two began to get into it more, she couldn't help stopping to watch. Seeing the angel beginning to show off was amusing. Soon enough Pit's song changed and the aegis, much like Toon Link couldn't help but giggle, though when the angel shuffled closer to her, she was taken aback. Finding a blush dusting her cheeks again, she averted her gaze quickly. Despite the redness of her face, a smile remained upon her lips. However, unlike her, Mythra found irritation in such actions and that only grew when Pit called out that "this one" was for her.
The song began before Mythra could even think of forcing herself out, and as the melody hit her, she felt an odd wave of familiarity come over her. Had she heard this song before? It felt like it, yet at the same time she couldn't place it. Even so, the blonde finally decided to make her appearance. Before Pyra could try to protest, she took control and in a small burst of light the figure that was once the fire blade was replaced by that of the light one.
Eyes narrowed, it was clear the aegis was not amused, yet she said nothing and she didn't make any moves. Instead, she stood frozen, listening to the music being played. As the song hit its "chorus" Mythra's eyes widened and seemingly out of nowhere her voice rose up, but instead of the anger one might have expected, she sang along with the melody being played.
"So tell me why I'm here and what's the reason I am here today
If I recall it was you, you wished that I would stay
No matter how much wind will blow against me I will keep on, oh oh
I will keep moving on, to find the answer too
I'm lost in search for you"
Stopping herself, Mythra was taken back by her sudden musical outburst. How did she know the words to this song? She had no idea, yet they came to her so naturally as if they were locked somewhere in her head. Singing was the last thing she had expected herself to do. It was embarrassing. Finding herself flustered, she crossed her arms over her chest and immediately averted her gaze away from the group. Even so, she didn't dare switch back to Pyra. The other refused to let her anyways. She was forced to deal with her actions without running. How cruel. She thought her other half would be more understanding than that.
Pushing it aside, her gaze soon shifted towards the Lapras that had appeared. Given Toon Link's reaction, this seemed to be the result he had been hoping for. What exactly this creature did though was beyond her knowledge. From the looks of it though, it was a pokemon of some sorts. Would a pokemon really be willing to help them without one of the trainer kids present? Maybe. The ones that were among the fighters seemed to be willing to help, so what made this one any different. It looked rideable as well, though she couldn't say riding on its back looked all too comfortable. As much as she wanted to protest, she kept it to herself and instead remained quiet in attempt to recover from her own humiliation.

As soon as the cap was swiveled off and Sora handed over the bottle Pichu would eagerly grab it with his tiny little hands. A simple “Pichu!” in thanks, he’d go into a sitting position and place the bottle in front of him. Then, veeerrrry carefully the little Pokémon tilted the bottle towards himself, lapping up the steady stream of water that pooled out. And though it was just plain water by all means, to Pichu it was as heavenly as Moomoo milk! Or, that was probably just the prolonged dehydration talking but who was he to say? Though as wonderful as the water was he should have slowed down on the intake as the little Pokémon would accidentally get water in his nose. Squeezing his eyes he’d try to hold the oncoming sneeze in but it was no use.
“Pi….CHU!!”
The little Pokémon bellowed out as he aggressively sneezed out the water, nearly tipping the bottle! Thankfully just before it could spill he’d managed to frantically grab for it, keeping the item in place.
“Pichu!”
Mess prevented, he’d shake off the water and crumbs on his face before eagerly going back to sipping on the drink. But even that wouldn’t last for long as the bowl cutter blonde directed his attention over to the little mouse, curious as to how he was taking to the newly acquired freedom.
“Pi pi-pichu pi-pi-pi” would be all that he’d respond with as the little Pokémon finished his drink. Meal completed, Pichu grabbed the remains of the plastic wrapping as well as the now empty water bottle and neatly placed them into one pile. Belly full of food and drink, Pichu was feeling a whole heck of a lot better now. This improvement in mood would only further be showcased as he began climbing up Sora’s leg, plopping himself down right onto his lap. Sora and the bowl headed bowl seemed to be conversing so Pichu wouldn’t interrupt them, instead he simply curled up and quietly listened, the sound of their soft voices a sweet melody to the Pokémon’s ears. Though eventually Pichu was brought back into the conversation by Sora’s mention of the rest of the smash realm.
Though he couldn’t speak for the entire realm, Pichu would give a surprisingly definite nod at the boy’s question. His home forest was a total complete mess! All of the animals and Pokémon were starving, the monsters and beasts were way more aggressive than usual, and none of it seemed to be anything that’d naturally occur. Something weird had to be going on, Pichu could feel it.
Plus, besides big sis Pikachu he hadn’t seen any of the other Pokémon involved in the tournament in a long while. Sure, there were plenty of wild Pokémon inhabiting the forest, but none of them were the ones he’d grown to be friends with. There were the other Pokémon fighters of course, but then there were also all of the ‘item’ Pokémon. From those like Mimmikyu, fletching, and Abra, or even the legendaries like Mew, Latias, Latios, and Suicune. He hadn’t seen hide nor hair of his old friends. Pichu’s ears fell upon remembering them all. He could only hope that they were all alright. Maybe the hands were still taking care of them? Or maybe they were back in their original regions, safe from whatever was going on in the realm. As nice as that would be, he still couldn’t help but miss them nevertheless.
“Pichu…”
Shaking away the bad feelings, he’d perk up at the sign of proper introductions. Seeing as Sora had done the job of giving his name (though considering the only thing Pichu ever said was his name it really wasn’t all that necessary) Pichu would give a simple “Pi!” over towards the bowl cutted boy in acknowledgement. Still, this didn’t mean that the boy would stick with them for any longer…right?

The Slayer's fists tightened as the one-winged angel's callous monotone voice flickered him an offer towards a duel. He knew not who or what this figure was, but his venomous words paired with the visage of his singular dark wing amiss the bright light of the facility told the Hellwalker everything he needed to know. It too bathed in the glory of combat, though of a much sinister variety. For it was a tone the Slayer was all too familiar with and one that demanded to be put down by his hand. His blood began to boil, invigorating him as the anticipation of imminent combat began flowing through his very essence. His neck popped while his knuckles cracked and his shoulders rolled; eyes quivering as they locked dead onto their foe with raging excitement.
And what about the small fluffy creature? The Slayer glanced briefly at the adorable Shih Tzu standing beside the malevolent entity. If he felt nothing but an empty black void coming from the Dark Angel, SHE emitted the complete opposite. A bright radiant light... filled completely with a welcoming warmness and innocence. A brief aura of familiarity tingled down the Slayer's spine, echoing a nostalgic memory he had not forgotten after all that time in slumber, before succumbing back to being knee-deep into his rage. He understood what he must do... what he had to do. Even without the Father's voice proclaiming of her worthiness, the outcome would remain the same.
"Welcome home... Great Slayer."
And with a huff of anger, the battle commenced!
With unmatched speed, the Slayer immediately dashed forth towards Sephiroth with unbridled fury. Clearing the gap between them in what felt like merely a second, the armored warrior rose his left fist, activating a retracted jagged titanium arm blade that threatened in goring through his opponent's abdomen with a sweeping uppercut. All the while, the Slayer reached back with his other hand and plunged it through a tear within the fabric of space, before revealing a gnarled double-barreled shotgun caked with the dried blood and gore of all who dared face him. He intended to plunge a shot directly through his opponent's torso as he was distracted with his melee strike.
Toon Link & Pit Location: The Sea, heading toward the Alolan Islands (World of Light)
With: Pyra/Mythra (Ploegy
), Jeff (Kaiju Cat
)
Toon Link and Pit both cheered as Jeff tried to dance. It didn't matter to them that the boy didn't know how to dance, they were just happy he was enjoying the music and having fun!
When Mythra appeared, Pit greeted her unamused glare with a grin that was like the sun shining on a spring dawn. Perhaps he was optimistic that the music would soon mellow out the Aegis. Pit had heard the melody during Pyra and Mythra's reveal trailer, and he thought it was pretty; surely playing a song from their game would cheer Mythra up, right? Right?
He hadn't expected her to sing! The cherub was so surprised and awed that he almost stopped playing, but he caught himself before he could. Smiling brightly, he took a big step forward to stand right in front of Mythra, his violin-playing growing more passionate, not trying to outdo her singing but to prop her up. As the music drew to an end, the angel spoke cheerfully and sincerely, "Wow! You've got a beautiful singing voice, Mythra! Thank you!"
Violin still in position, Pit bowed elegantly to the blonde woman. Toon Link, also awed (and a touch red-cheeked) from Mythra's singing, applauded enthusiastically. The Lapras let out a high-pitched, happy call of approval toward the performers. Pit straightened, still beaming. "Look at that, Mythra! Lapras loved it too!"
When Jeff inquired as to what the Pokemon was, Toon Link explained to the other boy that her name is Lapras and that she can carry travelers on her back; they're very gentle and friendly creatures. Toon Link pointed to Mythra, Jeff, and Pit, and then to Lapras. The Pokemon was certainly big enough to easily carry the Hylian's three companions should none of them want to ride in the King of Red Lions. Toon Link wouldn't be offended if that was the case as he understood how small the boat was.
Once seating arrangements were made, Toon Link once again raised his baton and with a few swishes he changed the wind direction southward. That was the direction they needed to go, and with a good wind the journey will be much swifter. Pit willed his violin to vanish and he hopped onto the patiently waiting Lapras's back, gently stroking her head immediately afterward. Toon Link opened his sail and he took off! Lapras swam alongside him, her happy singing mingling with Pit's thrilled laughter.
An hour passed. Once or twice the adventurers spotted pirate ships but they managed to keep their distance. Thankfully, Lapras was aware of the danger the pirate's presented and needed no urging to stay away. Toon Link relaxed in his boat, hand still upon the tiller, when he looked to his companions on the Lapras. Pit was standing, hand on Lapras's neck, eyes scanning the heavens. Toon Link called out to him. Pit snapped out of his thoughts and looked to the Hylian. The bright, cheerful smile reappeared on his face. "Ah, don't worry about me, T'ink! It's a beautiful day for sailing!"
Pit smiled at Mythra and Jeff before he faced forward again. That's right, he is Pit, Captain of Lady Palutena's Royal Army, guardian and right-hand man of the Goddess of Light Herself, and protector of humans. He must always remain strong and instill hope into his charges for their sakes. If that means putting on a smile and cracking jokes, Pit will do so, even when his own heart was falling. That is the responsibility of a leader.
The loss of Phos hurt the angel more deeply than his companions may have known. Back on Angel Land, Pit had very few friends and even fewer people to confide in. His status among Skyworld society meant he could never get too casual with the other angels; rank and boundaries were heavily respected and enforced. When Pit came into ownership of the Lightning Chariot, Phos bonded strongly with him (Lux favored Dark Pit) and he found himself talking to the unicorn whenever he fed and brushed him. Pit told Phos about all the things he could never tell his fellow angels or to Lady Palutena, or even the other Smash Brothers during his time in the Smash Realm. He could open his heart freely, and though he wasn't sure if Phos actually understood him, the unicorn placed no judgement on him so he was fine with that. While he genuinely enjoyed fighting pirates, talking, and making music with his companions, deep down Pit felt the pangs of guilt for having fun while his unicorn was lost, maybe even hurt!
There was a sudden BOOM followed by the crack of lightning. The sky had turned dark with stormclouds. The winds howled, and numerous cyclones appeared before the adventurers. But how-?! It was clear and sunny just a second ago! Toon Link cried out in shock and brought out the wind baton. He swished it to and fro in an attempt to gain control of the winds, but they and the now-rough seas rocked the boat, making it difficult for the Hylian to stay balanced and focused on his conducting. Toon Link soon realized the futility of trying to control the weather in this situation. He grabbed the tiller; he'll have to dodge the cyclones! Gritting his teeth in grim determination, Toon Link guided his little boat with a skilled hand. This wasn't his first storm!
Lapras let out a cry. She was just as startled by the sudden change in weather. Upon seeing the cyclones, the Pokemon chose a different course of action from Toon Link's: she dove underwater-- taking her passengers with her! Pit barely had time to hold his breath before he was submerged. He clung to Lapras's neck, eyes shut tight as his world became black and eerily quiet. Pit had never been underwater like that before, and though he will never openly admit it, he was terrified!
Once! Twice! Thrice, Putt was slammed around by Samus's Grapple Beam. He staggered upright, gripping his now-dented helmet to correct it as it had gotten turned around during the thrashing. He shook his head as though trying to rid it of stars. A dark aura flared from Putt. The false angel stomped a foot like a child throwing a tantrum.
Oh, he was furious!
He raised his bow, about to ready an arrow when Peach began taunting him. Putt looked to the princess as she waved her fingers and stuck her tongue out, mocking him. Putt quivered with rage and, rather than try to shoot the princess, he charged right at her! He raised a fist to punch when Pikachu jumped inbetween him and Peach, taking the blow that was aimed for her companion. Putt was a supernatural being and Pikachu felt the punch despite her new Ghost-typing, the poor mouse flying back and striking the ground, rolling a bit before coming to a stop on her stomach. She let out a pained squeak and, with a bit of struggle, forced herself back onto her paws. Putt was about to attack again when he suddenly began to grow weak. He dropped to a knee, static electricity sparking from his body. When he punched Pikachu, it activated the Pokemon's Static ability, paralyzing the Putt.
The Underworld monster tried to force his numbed body into acting; his life depended on it! With massive effort, Putt pulled himself back to his feet. Heavy breaths came from behind the dented visor of his helmet.
Rotten vines shot out of the fog and wrapped themselves around Putt, lifting him into the air and painfully stretching his limbs. Trevenant had gotten back up. Silently, slowly, like a vengeful phantom, the Ghost-type Pokemon closed the distance between itself and Putt. Its single red eye glared balefully at its prisoner before it began to glow. A ring shot out of Trevenant's eye and disappeared into Putt. Green leaves sprouted from Putt's body. This was Trevenant's special ability: Forest's Curse. Putt had been turned into a Grass-type... which meant he was now very vulnerable to fire!
Trevenant stepped away from Putt and looked to Samus expectantly. Putt tried to struggle but could not get his paralyzed body to obey, and his limbs were stetched almost to the point of popping out of their sockets. Putt could only gasp painfully as he realized his failure. His life was now forfeit.
"Steve? Give me a sign." Snake hunkered over the hole, waiting awhile for Steve to confirm a visual. He only sent another message when there was no confirmation the first had been received, then went to planning for the worst case scenario when the same occurred for the second. If his partner had ended up in the shit, Snake knew he couldn't wait for it to resolve itself. He let out another miserable rumble from his throat but was already pivoting around the hole and looking for a suitable point of entry. If he breached quickly enough, he could use the element of surprise to clean up whatever unfriendlies had survived the grenade. Or that was the idea, at least. He leaned over the hole, listening for telltales of inhabitance or similar preparation for an ambush. Instead, he heard light footfalls coming down the mineshaft stairwell and an encroaching light in his peripherals. The steps stopped short of reaching him but the light continued to burn at his back. Snake gave himself the short amount of time he needed to be sure it wasn't a trick of the mind, moving slowly to brace his SOCOM in his hands while he did. Then he whipped around with his gun raised and trained it on the source of light, barking out an order as he did. "Don't move!"
Snake hoped that was enough to stop them in their tracks while he blinked the fire's light out of his eyes, the Solid Eye darkening to make focusing on the subject a tad easier. He noticed the Keyblade first while searching for any weapons, but familiarity only came after he saw the youthful face he was aiming his gun at. Snake's guard softened but that weakness was only momentary. This person wasn't the clown from before, but that didn't make them any less dangerous. They could be a bounty hunter from Console City or someone who had followed them from there. Worse, they could be in league with the clown. "You think it's a good idea to sneak up on people with your weapon drawn?" Behind his caustic delivery, Snake was really just guessing that's what Roxas was carrying. It was certainly some kind of sword or club covered in fire, but it wasn't like any melee weapon he'd seen before. It's shape was vaguely reminiscent of the Keyblade, a powerful magical weapon he had come across in his research and briefly in the second tournament. But this certainly wasn't the Keyblade he was familiar with, nor the face it belonged to. How else could the fire along its edge be explained, though? This wasn't a stick with a gas soaked rag along the end, but a controlled burn. Just bright enough to emit light, but not so much as to be overwhelming, and it showed no signs of flickering or burning out.
While the uncertainty of what he was dealing with was there, Snake kept his gun trained on Roxas, and hoped it was an effective deterrent.
Carefully aiming her shot, Samus was about to fire her charged shot at the false angel before it turned to rush at the taunting ghost Peach instead! The bounty hunter nearly brought herself to fire upon Putt, however his speed and proximity towards her ally made it an incredibly risky venture. Was ghost Peach even susceptible to damage even in her incorporeally intangible form? Even if so, she was just a bit too far to be able to intercept the scene in time! Was her hesitation about to bring imminent harm to her Royal Highness through her inaction?
Thankfully, Pikachu wasn't going to let that happen; as the Pokemon would leap to take the punch! Yet the lightning mouse appeared to have had an ace up her sleeve; as shortly after the Putt would be paralyzed in place. No doubt this had been an intentional moment under Pikachu's own doing. Clever! She watched as Putt attempted to regain control, barely hearing his harsh breaths against his already dented helmet, as he began slowly getting to his feet.
But before either of them could react, the Trevenant would emerge to enact vengeance upon the sinister Putt; coiling his limbs by manipulating the surrounding rotten vines. Samus watched as nature began to torment her opponent for his crimes one last time, preparing his execution by the bounty hunter's hand. The Putt was struggling feverishly, desperately trying to free himself from the bondage of his own making, but it was no use.
Time to finish this.
Raising her arm cannon, Samus locked onto her target and eyed him one last time. She almost felt sorry for the Putt... but it wouldn't be enough to consider sparing him. She fired her charged shot without further remorse, looking down upon the damage she wrought before pulling her attention back to the Deku Tree's grave situation. The bounty hunter glanced over at both Peach and Pikachu with a concerned nod.
"Are you alright?" she asked them both, before glancing at the stake lodged within the great tree's bark. Getting around towards a good angle, the bounty hunter rose a cautious hand out at her allies. "Stand back." With careful precision, Samus launched her grapple beam at the lodged spike and began to pull with all of her might; gritting her teeth as she dug her feet into the ground!

Roxas ───────────────────────────────────────────
Location: Kongo Jungle | Interactions: AvidElmV2 ───────────────────────────────────────────
Roxas should have expected the events that would come to follow, but given his entire situation, the thought had never crossed his mind and now he found himself staring at the barrel of a gun point directly at him. Luckily, the man opposite of him wasn't trigger happy. If he had been, the teen wasn't sure if he would have been quick enough to dodge, especially in a small space like this. Still he was in no position to make any moves. Even forcing the flames out now seemed like a bad idea. All he could do was quickly gather his thoughts and answer the questions thrown his direction. Finding that to be his best course of action, he took in a deep breath before calmly exhaling. As he did that, he removed one hand from the hilt of his keyblade and lifted it up slowly in hopes that Snake would see it as a sign of peace. It was a gamble, but it was better than keeping both hands gripping tightly on his weapon in an offensive position. Even so, it went against the direct order of not moving.
"No, I don't think it's a good idea," Roxas began, though he was unsure how he even planned to defend his actions. Would the other even believe him if he said he hadn't been trying to sneak up on him? Perhaps. It wasn't as if he would have given himself away with his fire if that had been his true goal. Yet, it was hard to say how the soldier would take to such an explanation. All he could do was try, even if it was to no avail. "I was nearby and heard an explosion coming from this area, so I thought I'd investigate." Pausing for a moment, he slowly moved his raised hand to gesture towards his keyblade. It was clear that he was mindful of his movements and how one wrong one might end up getting him shot. "It was dark down here and this is my only source of light. I had no clue anyone would actually be down here to tell you the truth, though I suppose I should have expected to find something that would have caused the explosion."
Now he was making an assumption. Roxas had no clue what had truly caused the commotion, but given Snake's getup, it didn't seem too farfetched to believe he had some input into it. If that were true though then that left the question of why he would have needed to do such a thing. Roxas wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer to that question. Instead, he shifted his mind back to himself, and his own position. Until he was not staring at the barrel of a pistol, he figured he shouldn't ask anything.
"I can prove I mean no harm," he decided to continue on. Those words were yet another gamble, yet if he could prove innocence, perhaps he could defuse the situation from getting worse for himself. Shifting his gaze down to his keyblade, he wondered if it was even smart to make the suggestion that had come to mind. Sure, he could resummon his blade at anytime, but if something happened, would he even be quick enough to do so? The question lingered in his mind for a moment before a sharp sigh escaped his lips and his eyes lifted back to meett Snake's gaze. "I can unarm myself if that proves anything. I'll be unable to see in the dark though."
Those words felt awful to let escape his lips, but Roxas knew it was the right path forward. He couldn't let his anger simply take over because he found himself in an uncomfortable position. That would only lead him to a worse outcome after all. The less trouble, the better, and maybe it would lead to gaining answers to his questions sooner as well.

Another step backwards, Isabelle only further shrunk into herself, only feeling the bare minimum of relief as Sephiroth continued to pay her little mind. Rather, much to her surprise, Sephiroth proposed the idea of a duel to the newly awakened individual as he gestured towards the exit. Her beady little eyes glanced between the two men, the two maroon cloaks on the floor, and finally the two doors leading out into the hallway. For a moment she almost considered making a break for it, but in order to do that she’d be caught right between the Slayer and Angel, a position which would surely result in disaster. Just the tension between them alone could slice through steel. And, as The Slayer took a step towards Sephiroth, Isabelle knew that the tension surely would come to a breaking point very soon. There was no way being caught in the middle of that could end well. However, it was between that or continuing to remain in the same room as them, which also sounded nothing short of dangerous. Plus…
She felt The Slayer's piercing gaze once more befall her, the dark glass of his visor concealing whatever emotions lie beneath. Isabelle swallowed the lump in her throat as she backed further away from the angel and slayer. She knew that the strained peace (If you could even call it that) that held the room would soon reach its finale, as the silent stare down between them had but one conclusion before it. As much as Isabelle dreaded it, there was but one way that this encounter could end.
Battle.
And battle they did.
Faster than wind the Slayer launched himself across the room towards Sephiroth, weapon raised and aimed for the man. As metal clashed against metal Isabelle dove under the nearest shelter, which just so happened to be behind the coffin that The Slayer had just moments ago woken from. With the barest minimum of protection she wouldn’t dare to glance back at the fight behind her. This…this was nothing like how the smashers fought in the tournament. This wasn’t a casual duel between friends and rivals. No, the two didn’t with the goal of winning. They were fighting for the sole purpose of causing their opponents utter destruction. This wasn’t a battle. No, this was a bloodbath.
The sound of a gunshot caused Isabelle to shield her ears. Was it okay to simply let these two men fight to the death? Sephiroth was truly awful, so utterly terrible that she wouldn’t doubt that many of the other fighters wouldn’t be against putting his reign of terror to an end permanently. But, was Isabelle the same? Could she stand by and let someone attempt to take another’s life, as vile as that person was? Was it moral to do so in these circumstances? If it wasn’t, did she even have such power to put a stop to it or would it only result in her getting caught in the crossfire. Huddled against the cold coffin, Isabelle found herself wishing that she’d at least bit the slightest bit further thought into waking The Slayer as what seemed to be such a simple act was now rapidly snowballing into a philosophical crisis that she wasn’t at all equipped to handle in the slightest.

The Minecraftian Man wasted no time after receiving Snake's message, breaking the torch and mining downward as quick as he could! Chunks flew as he mined deeper and deeper.... Which, unfortunately for Steve, was enough to break his stone pickaxe, worn out by the rapid mining. A message would appear in the chat, with only Snake being able to see it.
steve: ****
Huh, wonder would that could b-
steve: f
steve: u
steve: c
steve: k
Ah. Placing the torch a block above him, Steve managed to get a good look around him... And saw stone embedded with silvery pixels. Iron! Snake would receive another message.
steve: two sec. iron.
Quickly crafting a Crafting Table with the excess wood, Steve jumped up in the air before placing it down. Crafting a new pickaxe, Steve swapped to his axe to break the table before swapping back to the pickaxe.
-----------------------------------
In all, Steve was able to collect seven pieces of iron. Not bad. Now, to return. Selecting the excess dirt he had collected through strip-mining, Steve began the process of jumping up and placing a block beneath him to ascend back to the cavern!
--------------------------------
Where the explosion had gone of, a cubical head peaked out. A couple of seconds would go by before a new message would enter the chat function- and both Snake and Roxas being able to see it.
steve: hi sora
If Roxas attempted to think out a message, and think of sending it, it might reveal the confusion of the strange little block man. For, a name would show up to the left of the message.
SeaSaltSora:
How he reacted to that would be up to him, but the issue of visibility would be solved by Steve placing down the sole torch in his inventory, bathing the cave with light. Which, as always with Steve, made zero sense by logic. How could one torch even light up so much?
Steve's head tilted upwards, seeing coal left upwards around where the hole had lead. Stone blocks appeared in his hand before he began his usual process to get up, placing a block beneath him after he jumped. Quickly reaching close enough to the coal, he began to mine it with his brand-new shiny pickaxe.
Well, maybe some of the confusion around Roxas could finally be cleared now.
"We're ok! Pikachu's friends kinda converted us into... Well, this--" Peach began, but then stopped when Samus raised her hand to indicate something was up the ghostly Pink Princess stopped talking right away.
Goodness, how dangerous was this forest?!
"Ah!" The Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom gasped as Samus began pulling at the lodged spike.
''I'm so sorry, I wish we could help, but... We can't..." The pink princess didn't quite want to state the obvious.
"I wonder... Where did that duplicate come from? How come IT could breathe in the poison? Is it possible there's a source for this toxic mist and destroying it could get rid of all the mist present? Or would everything still be coated in poison?"
Princess Peach knew Samus didn't have the answers, but the three of them MIGHT be able to find answers to these questions if they kept on their toes as long as they were in this crazy forest...
Peach and Pikachu might not be able to return to tangible bodies until completely out of the forest. even if the trio was able to find and exterminate the source, for the poison might still be settled on the plants and other fauna...
This didn't bode well... If Samus got in trouble and needed their help only Pikachu's electricity might be able to give aid...
And the biggest concern while exploring this forest deeper was just how many duplicates there were in here (or even in this world...!)...
Despite the visor of the helmet being down, Samus might still be able to feel Putt's glare as she released her charged shot. The shot immediately disintegrated the rotten vines holding Putt, and the force shot him back a few feet before he landed in a black smoking heap on the ground. That seemed to be that, but then Putt stirred. He raised a charred skeletal hand, the wretched creature's strangled gasps audible despite the helmet.
Putt is still alive!
He raised his head, defiant despite his horrific condition. Then, the visor of the helmet flew up and thick black smoke billowed forth. Before the smoke could clear and reveal Putt's true face, he went still and dissolved into pure darkness that was carried off with the wind.
Pikachu had looked away before Samus fired her shot, unable to watch the violent demise of one that so closely resembled an ally. She shut her eyes until the Underworld angel's gasps were finally silenced for good. She opened her eyes to see Samus use her grapple beam on the stake buried within the Great Deku Tree and pulled. The stake budged, then began to come out inch by painful inch. It struck Pikachu just how long that stake was and how much of it was stabbed into the Forest Guardian. She wanted to help but an electric attack on the stake might travel through the grapple beam and give Samus a shock as well. Pikachu glanced around and saw Putt's bow; the false angel had dropped it when Trevenant captured him. The bow gave off an aura of light that repelled the miasma. Having an idea, Pikachu grabbed the bow, jumped forward, and threw it at the stake.
The bow struck the stake, and the offending object began to crack and dissolve. One good pull from Samus yanked the stake out of the Great Deku Tree completely. It struck the ground and broke into pieces. Like Putt, the pieces dissolved into darkness and disappeared. Sap gushed from the now-open wound like a golden stream. Pikachu and Trevenant cried out in dismay. What can they do now? How can they heal the Great Deku Tree?
Before panic could settle in, the Great Deku Tree spoke. His voice, once deep and strong was now soft and weak.
"Thank you, for freeing me of that spike and the demons that lived within me. It lightens my heart to know the heroes of this world have returned to save it. I'm certain you are shocked as to what has become of this land.
A year ago, after the tournament, a sorcerer in a mask of silver and gold took the Hands' power as his own. I know not how he did it, but he now rules the realm as Lord Lunaris, Master of Creation and Destruction. It was he who drove that spike into me. He, and a priestess who wields the dark powers of a dead god, came to me demanding answers. When I refused to aid them, he sought to punish me and send a warning to the rest of the realm. The priestess summoned the demons to guard against meddlers.
Lunaris's dominion over the Hands is not absolute; when Master Hand and Crazy Hand created this realm, they released portions of their power and hid them across the land as a safeguard. Even when the Hands were under the control of Tabuu, or Galeem or Dharkon, you and the other Super Smash Brothers have not fought them at their full strength. These powers are called the Pillars of Creation and the Pillars of Destruction. Lunaris and his followers seek these Pillars for if he possesses them, he will have full mastery over Master Hand and Crazy Hand's powers.
Master Hand bestowed the Pillars of Creation onto five guardians. I am one of them, the Pillar of Creation: Life. I know not who the other four keepers are, but these clues were passed onto me should the Hands' champions ever need to seek them out.
The Pillar of Creation: Strength is held by the guardian of the lake and sky.
The Pillar of Creation: Fortitude is guarded by a great silver beast.
The Pillar of Creation: Hope grows within a tree of happiness.
The Pillar of Creation: Imagination is in the paws of a traveling musician.
There are five Pillars of Destruction, same as the Pillars of Creation: Fear, Sorrow, Anger, Ego, and Death. I cannot say how or where Crazy Hand has chosen to hide them, however, if the forces of evil are searching for them I believe one may be able to feel the Pillars' effect on the land around them. Know this, while the Pillars of Destruction are not evil in themselves, one must be strong of heart and mind to possess and use them, otherwise you may lose yourselves to madness!"
The tree was silent for a long moment. When he finally spoke again, his voice was exhausted and fading. "I am... not long for this world. Though you have removed the affliction that has plagued me... my body is ravaged and corrupted beyond repair, even with the Pillar of Life. It has... taken everything within me to keep it safe; now I shall bestow it... upon you."
A small light appeared before the two women and the Pikachu. A symmetrical crystal shard, small enough to fit in a person's hand, appeared from the light and hovered before them. Pikachu looked up at the crystal, then to the Great Deku Tree, her dark brown eyes full of sadness.
"I have... one last request: when I have passed... burn my remains to ashes... that the corruption be purged and the soil nourished... so new life may grow. Fortune... be with you... heroes."
Thus did the Great Deku Tree, Guardian of the Forest, die.
Should the Pillar of Creation: Life be taken and the Great Deku Tree's final request fulfilled, the miasma will begin to fade away. The sun shone through the forest canopy and banished the toxic darkness. The Pillar began to glow a teal light; small flowers bloomed at the feet of the Pillar's bearer. Pikachu and Peach will suddenly find themselves corporeal again, and any wounds inflicted upon the three heroes will be healed. Among the ashes of the Great Deku Tree grew a tiny sprout, a symbol of hope and renewal after all the suffering and death that had befallen the forest.
Even with all of her might, Samus could tell that the stake was lodged deep within the Deku Tree's side. While she could feel it move a painful inch by painful inch per tug, whatever struck it in certainly didn't want anyone taking out so easily. The struggled breaths and pained grunts were already clear signs that this was putting a surprising amount of strain upon the bounty hunter. And this is coming from someone who wrangled with much heavier things; some of which wrangled violently in her grasp! After a powerful tug, Samus stopped for a moment to catch her breath, panting loud enough for the others to hear her. This was certainly going to take awhile.
Frowning wearily, the armored huntress proceeded to have another go at it, tugging once more with a powerful lurch! At that time, Pikachu threw the angelic bow the false angel had on him straight at the stake, miraculously causing it to weaken on the spot! Samus' looked on at the scene before a determined glare beckoned her for one last pull. She dug her heels into the dirt and with a powerful heave, the stake was finally yanked out of the tree! It tumbled down to the ground with a clank, before shattering into bits and dissolving into the wind.
Yet now they were presented with another dire problem. With the stake now out, nothing was now holding back the torrent of sap that now gushed out of the great tree itself! It was bleeding itself dry! She heard the mournful cries of the Pokemon echoing behind her, all at a lost at how to heal the tree. Even Samus wasn't particularly sure about how to cauterize wood and bark. Welding it closed could be an option, but the spillage was just too great. By the time she would return with her supplies, she knew it would be too late. Not to mention, the risk of it potentially catching the tree on fire depending on the flammability of the bark.
As she was pondering her options, the wise Deku Tree would finally speak. His voice was noticeably weakened, but Samus' gave him all the respect she could. She listened intently, before activating her onboard recording speaker, for there was much for the great tree to tell...
And what he provided was quite staggering.
Unsurprisingly, this tournament was wrought about a new overwhelming enemy hellbent on wanting to play god; one Lord Lunaris, Master of Creation and Destruction. He, alongside a priestess under him, were responsible for the Deku Tree's ailment; the latter wielding the "power of a dead god". Samus immediately thought of the Dharkon arrow she had seen afflicting the bear Pokemon from earlier. So it appeared that he was dead after all; rather his remains were being used as a catalyst for enhancing powerful weaponry. This would make sense given everything that had transpired, but it still very much concerned her. If they were utilizing his remains, so too must they be also utilizing Galeem's essence in some capacity. It was a dangerous combo, especially in the wrong hands.
Yet what Lunaris and his followers were seeking were the Pillars of Creation and the Pillars of Destruction; powers once belonging to the Twin Hands themselves that had been hidden as a safeguard. There were five Creation Pillars and five Destruction Pillars, all being bestowed upon a guardian to protect them. And what a surprise to see that the Great Deku Tree had held on to one of the Creation Pillars - that befittingly being of Life. The other Creation Pillars were of Strength, Fortitude, Hope, and Imagination - each belonging to a guardian of a cryptic description. The tree seemed to know not of their true identities outside of said descriptions. The same couldn't be said for the locations of the Destruction Pillars - Fear, Sorrow, Anger, Ego, and Death - which while not evil, can corrupt any user that failed to properly utilize them.
Samus nodded upon hearing all this while she watched the Deku Tree bleed... a pang of guilt permeating her side. Her eyes dropped slightly. It didn't help how the once mighty and majestic tree was effectively dying, with him noting how badly damaged and corrupted it was. She so desperately wanted to save him, her mind racing at light speed trying to figure out a last ditch effort to control the discharge, but deep down she knew there was nothing they could do. Though before it could pass on, the Tree would proceed to offer them the Pillar of Life, in the form of a small crystalline shard, wanting them to keep it safe as they searched for the other pillars.
The bounty hunter slowly walked up to it, opening her palm before gently holding it with her metallic hand. She looked back up to the Deku Tree and nodded. "We will... keep this safe." Samus confirmed with a slow yet firm tone, "Lord Lunaris and his forces will be destroyed. You have our word."
And with his final words, the mighty Deku Tree asked for his remains to be burned... so that new life can bloom once more. And with a final word of his blessing, the tree would pass away into the Subspace... perishing on the spot. The bounty hunter stood motionlessly for half a minute, staring upon the tree's remains with a solemn look, before reluctantly going forth with his wishes. Slowly she raised her arm cannon, pointing down at the tree's giant roots and fired a barrage of several missiles.
The explosions would lick the tree's thick bark, quickly beginning to set it ablaze as life began to return to the forest once more. Samus' solemn look remained as she watched it burn, while the miasma began fading away. She'd notice her armor begin to repair itself from the damage sustained in the battle. Both Peach and Pikachu would finally turn back to their regular selves, also being healed from the renewal of the earth. Though as Samus looked back at the ashes one last time, her visor would pick up the faint signature of life sprouting from the undergrowth. Walking towards it, the huntress kneeled down to see a tiny sprout remain, restarting the circle of life once more. Samus took a moment of peace to glance upon the innocence of life, smiling lightly before returning to the two with crystal in hand.
"Not quite what I was expecting we'd find here," she admitted as her focus primarily remained on Peach, as she gave Pikachu a quick pat on the head, "Shame there wasn't any fuel... Nonetheless it gives us an idea of what's going on. Same deal as before really; we need to reunite with the other fighters and ensure we get all of the Pillar Pieces before Lunaris gets his hands on them."
She then opens her palm to reveal the Life shard, allowing both Peach and Pikachu a good look. "Your highness," she motioned respectfully as she offered her hand closer to Princess Peach, "I offer to put the crystal under your care... if you accept of course."
Snake didn't even flinch to Roxas, just let his glowering expression suggest caution in their movements. He kept his aim steady on his gun, and his aim even steadier on his target. If there were any doubt in his intention to shoot, that confident handling ought to dispel it. Snake was just as stoic while receiving Roxas' explanation for being there. He didn't let his expression betray any kind of consideration for their words, but inside, Snake wasn't surprised to hear that someone came to see what the commotion was. That didn't mean that was the case in this situation, though. Though he couldn't be sure, Roxas didn't look like anyone who had any business traipsing around a jungle. It would be a wild coincidence to say they were doing this for fun. It was easier to imagine they were already there looking for something. "No, it won't prove anything," Snake said to Roxas' suggestion to disarm himself. "But do it anyway-" He gestured the barrel of his gun to the ground. "Put your weapon down and kick it over to me." Just then, the gray communication box Steve used appeared just outside of Snake's vision. He noted it and brought his eyes back to Roxas - he would answer later.
If he received Roxas' Keyblade then, Snake caught it under his foot and stood on it. He heard sounds of climbing dirt behind him and Steve poked his head up from the hole in the floor a few seconds later. He took this as an opportunity to skim the message log while Steve had his eyes on Sora. Nothing he desperately needed to know, other than more evidence that perhaps Steve wasn't the best partner for a dangerous infiltration, but it was the last message that caught his attention. "Sora?" Snake looked back up at Roxas, his confusion now evident on his face. He looked for any sort of semblance in their barely restrained frustration and found the claims validity lacking. They had similar hair colors and that was it. Their differences were plentiful, though. Different presentation, different attitudes, and even different weapons. Snake was no expert on Sora for all the research he'd done on the Smash Brothers, but everything he knew said this person wasn't them. And yet Steve had gone out of his way to use that name.
Snake brought his pistol back to face Roxas as Steve's head disappeared from sight. He reached for the torch the Minecraft man left behind and handed it to the youth at gunpoint. "You can carry the torch. Should be no problem about you not being able to see." He retreated back to where he'd left the Keyblade, only letting his pistol fall from Roxas then. "Get down into the hole. And start talking. Why do you have a Keyblade? Are you with Sora?"
