As the class concluded, Caelum lingered for a moment, watching Keith's entourage vanish down the hall. His mind turned over the words he'd caught: temporal gate. His pulse quickened, but he forced himself to breathe, letting the rising curiosity simmer rather than boil over. Whatever Keith was dealing with, it wasn't Caelum's immediate concern—at least not yet.

Slipping his bag over his shoulder, Caelum redirected his thoughts. The day was his to command now, and there were priorities to address. First, he’d head out to gather valuable plants—resources that could bolster his personal reserves or even provide leverage for future exchanges. The forest near the academy was rumored to have rare herbs that thrived in the mana-rich environment. He’d need to act quickly before someone else stripped the area clean.

After that, he’d make time to check in with Elizabeth. Her request had lingered in the back of his mind, not only because helping her could strengthen an alliance, but because her mention of her family’s library intrigued him. Knowledge was power, and right now, he’d take every advantage he could get.

He gave one last glance at the door Keith had disappeared through. “You’re not the only one with plans,” Caelum muttered under his breath before striding out of the classroom, his steps carrying purpose.

The Demon king was somewhat awestruck by the display. As he continued to chew on the bone of his lamb chop, he took note of charlie's expertise as a performer and magician. "my lord are you really so interested in the affairs of a street rat", came a voice behind him. The demon king paused and thought about the situation for a moment, taking a moment to survey his surroundings. "most of these creatures are below the flailing mage, yet he prostrates himself for their benefit"? But before baal could respond he projected a message to Charlie via telepathy, well the way demons communicate by projecting their thoughts via oscillating mana waves into their target's brain. "you, hey you rascal, why do you beg these cretins for their metal coins? can you not take them by force"?

He sat there a moment waiting for a response, eye glowing with a slight blue aura. It was one thing to use slaves, that much the demon king understood. However he did not understand performing or cooperating in a group. It has probably been eons since he had done so.
Charlie's magic, being psychic in nature- immediately picked up the voice clearly. If he wasn't concentrating on his performance, perhaps he could use the communication to read further- any intent or the creatures species. He continued his show as he spoke, eyes merely glowing a bit more as he spoke, every syllable a flare of green light.

"Some think the fool only performs for the coin, but I have heard of fools who were as well known as their masters- anyone can use their powers to conquer, but I have found a small show can linger in ones mind for a while."

Charlie finished his show, leaping off the piano- adding a swirl of green light as he landed on his feet, playing cards depicting him as a Jack of Diamonds erupted from the ground- they would fade in a few days unless someone took interest and took it, but it was a simple illusion. Charlie happily skipped to the pair, quickly grabbing a few morsels from unsuspecting drunkards- quickly eating them, Charlie never knew if he would have to flee so it was best to eat as fast as possible.

"I suppose you are the telepath?"
The shopkeeper stared at his prize and grinned with glistening razor sharp teeth. "yes yes, come hither", the trickster god said while licking his lips. His eyes became wider as he placed his fingers into the barrier set to keep him trapped in that shop, before slowly pulling it open. That's when he saw the knife plunge into the girl, scrambling his brain signals to temporarily overriding his control. "what a silly little creature", he whispered as his eyes tracked her fleeting form. Loki grabbed the demon blade and walked out the door calmly behind Zyn. "ooohh you run so hard little mouse"? He did not immediately catch up to the girl, but rather, he tailed her just outside of her periphery vision. Seeing her desperately slip into the yard of a well off business man. The commotion from her surrounding became the kindling for some wicked schemes.

A worker pushed the door open with his back, with a vat of warm grease. Loki snapped his fingers, sending a wave of mana out to tangle the circuits in his body. No matter how thin a civilian's network was, they principally had mana flowing in alongside the blood in their bodies. The man was now tripping, fell a meter away from Zyn, dropping the contents of his cauldron toward her. At the same time the god like a conductor to an orchestra, he swirled the demon blade in the air to turn the trash cans into an obstacle to block her retreat. The demon blade resisted for a moment, before relenting and causing the phenomenon it was commanded to.
"Stay the hell away psycho." Zyn cried out, cursing her idea to plunge the knife into her side- and healing the wound before hiding. Blood already flowed from the sloppy wound dressing and stitches- but she could run. A girl like her in the situation she had found herself in knew she couldn't beat most people in a fight. Building enough muscle to be a threat took food and time she couldn't waste- and even though she had a chance with her knife, she knew that was an unnecessary risk- the type that would likely end with her dead in a ditch, or worse.

Zyn quickly dove away from the grease, hissing as she felt a small splash of the liquid hit her leg, along with a small scrape against the road from her hasty escape. Zyn cursed the shopkeep as she watched the trash suddenly move into her path, diving over the first obstacle before tripping and falling. She quickly pulled her knife from her pocket and prepared to fend off her enemy, she would have to remain low and close with her smaller weapon.
The figure clenching the girl's hair looked toward the doctor, but did not flinch. It began to back pedal, dragging the girl along with it toward a dark neighborhood. In the distance, other figures closed in on Doc's position, maintaining an equal distance on his other three flanks. The girl yelped as her hair was being pulled once more and said, "I'm sorry mister bird mask. please ru--", was all she could get out before a band of mana barred her mouth from closing like a handkerchief would have.

"this child will feed the king, he who walks the path of the dead, the false prince shall not interfere"

"I don't deal with the departed, but if you have dealings with the damned souls who return to this world to harm the innocent- we will not be able to negotiate. Along with what I guess is kidnapping and ritual sacrifice, undead happen to be a sore spot."

Doc fired a single round, carefully aiming between the eyes before running toward the man- if he himself was undead, a simple headshot may not be enough. Doc reached into his pocket- scanning a few tools, before settling on the bonesaw in his bag, prepared to use it against the man unless he kept a grip on the child. His priority would be her safety, with his first plan being to disarm and disorient the man, before fleeing with the child and finding proper authorities to return her to her family.

Grell

The moment Yufine had summoned a pair of mages, paid professionals who were hired by Lord Waldyn; Grell couldn't help but sigh. It appeared as if they thought him possessed by some kind of demon. Which was ridiculous since the obvious signs of a possession type demon weren't anywhere in sight. All this did was show Grell that Yufine and her cronies had no idea how to handle dealing with REAL demons. No servant of Mala'Kai would allow themselves to be caught up in such a shoddy exorcism such as this. Moving his head backwards like someone had hit him in the forehead. Grell narrowly dodged Yufine's dagger. Yufine favored sabers which meshed well with her fast and precise style of fighting. However she ALSO used a parrying dagger when the situation called for it. She had wielded both in the few skirmishes he had with her in the former timeline. Hence why Grell was able to use that accumulated experience to predict her use of it just now. Although he only knew WHEN she drew it thanks to his Brain Rewrite buffing his sense of touch allowing him to feel her going for it.

Once the magic circle began pumping out anti-demon magic to try exorcising the demon that didn't exist in some of him. Grell was naturally unaffected and just kind of stood there while looking at Yufine like she were a little girl who tried to find evidence her parents were withholding candy from her. Suddenly an idea came to him while the light did its best to burn his eyeballs out. Taking a deep breath and focusing his mind on the magic around him. Grell opened up his Heavenly Skeleton (F) and tried to suck up some of the mana so it wouldn't go to waste. He needed to improve it regularly or it would kill him after all. What Grell didn't see was that the magi observing this scene would notice that the young masters mana completely lacked any trace of demon taint. Instead it was MUCH closer to the magical energy utilized by the clergy due to its purity. A side effect of Grell's selection as a champion of the old gods in this new worldline.

"Yufi, I'm going to need a word with you" said Grell once the light faded. Marching over to his older sister and her two mage cronies. Grell sat them down and decided to let them have it for their UTTERLY ridiculous actions. "Do you have ANY idea how dangerous that was? First of all you tried to kill me. Secondly you blundered headfirst into what you thought was demonic possession. What if it HAD been something like a demon? Are you in any way STRONG enough to take one on? NO! Not only does this prove you have no self-awareness but it also shows you lack maturity. Yufi you're gonna have to lead this family when the old man croaks. Which means learning how to think for yourself and gods help me, raise your own family. Have some common sense will you?" chided Grell like Yufine was the younger sibling. As this dressing down of Yufine was going on. One of the servants managed to report this event to the Second Sister in her magical study before doing the same for the Third Sister while she went through the estates finances.
