Yeah Eon! Rush has always been my favorite band!

I admit I have many favorites as I listen to a lot of different music...but Rush is the band I have seen the most live...although I do not get to many concerts of any sort these days (I did get to see Muse and Evanescence live last year which the first live concert arena concert I had seen in over ten years).

I was just listening to Armor and Sword a week or so ago and a little bit of Clockwork Angels....

Eonivar Eonivar Aaand since we have another fellow Rush fan in here, the least I can do is share this little gem from yet other fellow Rush fans!

"Time Stand Still" by The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own." =)

Yeah. I couldn't help but post that video in a few choice spots to celebrate Memorial Day weekend. =)

To be fair I like the recorded version of "Time Stand Still" off of the Show of Hands Live album better than the original version on Hold Your Fire.

Rush is a great band. I've liked them from the first time I ever heard Presto. They are up there on my favorite's list.

I remember walking into the band room the first day of Band Camp my Freshman year in High School and hearing the drum solo from A Show of Hands….

Do Bio-Comms work on different frequencies?

I can relate!

While the studio version of "The Trees" on their Hemispheres album is delightful, I can't help but long for the live version found on Exit... Stage Left - Lifeson on his "Broon's Bane" solo/prelude is... wonderful! Every time I hear "The Trees" without it... I... miss it! =)

EDIT: I have to choose these two videos because I don't like the audio of the single video I found.

EDIT: Had to add "Xanadu" because it's part of the three-song set and I can't bring myself to divide them. =) Plus, I'm adding all three videos because my list puts songs in-between the three (do not want other bands in-between these songs!). =)

"Broon's Bane" - Rush

"The Trees (Live In Canada / 1980)" - Rush

"Xanadu (Live In Canada / 1980)" - Rush

There! The audio-loving person in me is satisfied! =)

Eon's a band nerd! Hooray! (I'm not band, but I am sure a fan!)

Yeah. My first memory of Rush was their Hemispheres album (on 8-track). Other rock bands were strong and cool and hard... but Rush... Rush was something else. Their music, lyrics, and energy just took my mind and heart to places no one else ever has before or since.

OOC I don't think that there is a Lore skill for human tech, so I'm going to give you a chance with the Machine Lore skill instead. Do you have it, and if so, at what percentile?
Sherwood Sherwood Chaska does have it.
Lore: Machine: 50%
Should it help, he has History too (see Lore: Machine description): 50%

I'm not seeing Action Points anywhere. Did we decide not to have them for some reason? We do in all of our other Palladium games. Huh!

I never did pull in Action Points in this game. Honestly, I didn't even think about that. I might make a tweak to add them in.

As long as it keeps the game balanced as you like it. Don't put them in for my sake - I want everyone here to have fun! =)

What do you do?
The first thing I do is reward you with a Well-written. You had me from the first paragraph! That's some of your better posting, Sherwood! Were you practicing during your hospital stay? =)

The second thing I want to know is - what are our options?

Did we pass any other way through this monorail tube system or must we face this House Shiva (and thus be discovered by them as well as having been discovered by the Machine)?

Thank you for the Well Written. I do try to paint a picture with words, and it makes me feel good to succeed.

For the past five miles there have not been any open offshoots of the tunnel you are in. You have a few options. You can hold position and hope that you are not detected and let the Shiva's go about their business. You can pull back and dig your way to the surface. That will take some time, but you are still looking at five more days before you need to have the targets designated. You can also attack them, trying to do as much damage as possible before they can fight back.

There might be other options that you can come up with. Feel free to discuss your options.

I see a problem with attacking them. If the Abominations keep using their stealth fields, I don't know if anyone else can spot them besides Chaska. We might be better off either sitting and waiting or digging out to the surface.

So do I. There is no guarantee this is the only House Shiva element out here plus Bio-Comms (ours at least) can reach out to six miles - that's a lot of locale for House Shiva to summon reinforcements or at least get the word out that we're here. I think the less they know, the better. Plus, any fighting we might do might attract outside attention.

Also, we're not an established team - far from it. We're 1st level and new to each other. Going up against a rogue Splicer house that's willing to go it alone against the Machine and all other Splicer houses? Sounds like a bad idea - especially since we're on a stealth-based mission.

Sherwood Sherwood What do we know about digging upward? I am guessing underground monorail tubes had to have some kind of way for maintenance and support personnel to get from the surface down here (not to mention emergency exits for the public). Sure, none might fit someone the size of Pretty Bird, but did we have any indication of good places to dig up without attracting attention?

There are probably other tunnels in the area, but you don't know enough about the area to answer that question for sure. You all have the ability to dig rather quickly, even big ol' Pretty Bird. Working together, you can trade off the work of digging through the intervening earth and rock to the surface in about an hour of hard work. Depending on how close you are to the chamber when you start digging will also be an important factor. If you are too close, you might be heard by the Shivas and come under attack from behind.

I'd like to get everyone's take on this before we decide. One of Hearts One of Hearts Mirgris Mirgris

And let me add that I would not be against the idea of having Action Points in this game. Just sayin'.
I have yet to meet Players who don't like them. I think that's because bad guys hardly ever or never get them (they do in my games) and because of the many benefits they provide. Even nerfed (d4s instead of d6s), Action Points are potential game-changers. =)
