The launch doors are on the sides of the ship, not in its belly.

The hatches are on either side, just in front of the back landing leg. So, at the angle the Spartas forces are at, you will not be in a position to get a line of fire into the ship. Good idea, though.

These are neat ideas, but because we're using Palladium rules, I think you're actually helping the enemy by spreading the damage. It seems that Ryuko and Gabi are going to be launching all of their missiles at this thing when Conway gives the order - those missiles (assuming they make it there) will only hit the Main Body of the dropship and not the engines or any other part of the ship.

Therefore, if we're looking to "drop the dropship," I recommend we all nail the Main Body.

Ryuko fires her missiles, and as they fly up to the ship, it begins to fire down at them from its rotary cannon located on its underside. First, one missile is hit and is destroyed, then others begin to explode in a cascade of blasts. But after all the explosions rip through the sky, only half of the missiles are gone. The remaining nine continue to track on the ship and slam into it, doing sizable damage. But despite the heavy damage done, the ship is still in the air.
Psychie Psychie

The ship seems like its on its 5th action this round. Gabi has 9 actions per round in the Ajax. Is it possible for her to aim and hold her fire until the dropship is out of actions, then loose for fullest effect? Or will it get a chance to shoot regardless?

You don't know how many actions that the gunner of the ship may have. You could try and wait, just to see what happens.

O.K. Thanks!

I didn't mean to ask how many actions it had but rather ask if it were feasible to wait until it seemed "out" and then fire. =)

If everyone is holding fire, I will go ahead and move onto the next melee round. Is everyone good with that?

Psychie Psychie Gabi was going to keep blowing away Blue Bioroids with her ion cannons until she saw her opportunity, then she was going to fire her entire payload at the dropship. Is that all right?

Well, since you're doing my dice rolls, feel free to roll should Gabi see an opening.

I'm sorry. I guess I wasn't clear in Gabi's intentions. I wanted to fire all of her missiles when the dropship seemed at its weakest (Gabi's last action). If it's a new round, then the dropship is full of actions and Gabi's attempt was wasted. If this is the way of things, that's fine. I suppose I should learn to word my intentions better.

She'll take responsibility, just let her have her moment of trying to do something right.
Trust me. She will be taking a lot more than responsibility.

And I'm not stopping her! Just letting you know i will have to play out one of Marlons roles when they return to base. Such role being disciplinarian.

And just what happens if her plan works?

Would Malron be in a tough spot?

"If you're thinking right, I'm crazy then, but if I don't slow it down, there will be reinforcements! I can't let that happen!"

The Ajax would ascend upwards before meeting face to face with the drop ship, at a safe firing distance of course. The PPC would be charging up as she glared at the machine.

"I'll take responsibility for what happens later! Just fire after its attention is on me!"

The Ajax would fire directly at the head of the ship.....

I don't mean to put anyone down or make anyone look bad. I just don't understand. What world is she living in?

We're talking about a dropship piloted by the Robotech Masters' Bioroids here, right? With all of its airborne Bioroid support and guns, what makes Ryuko think that the pilots of the ship are just suddenly going to pause and say, "Oh, hey! Stop the ship and forget about all those tanks for a moment - that red-colored Ajax is coming after us! We'd better watch out for her!"

I get that Ryuko wants to make the big play "FOR YOU" and go off without orders again. Maybe she thinks people will care about her more if she attempts to martyr herself FOR THEM. I think maybe she's trying to act selfless, but... her way of going about it, I'm sorry, but it just makes zero sense to me. Why can't she just follow orders?

She's trying to get accepted. Right now, some of the other members probably hate her. If she does this, she might feel like she belongs with them.

But one doesn't get accepted by trying to be the big shot. One gets accepted in a military outfit because they're dependable, reliable, can be counted on to do the team thing. I don't think there's another way around it.

Yes he would be. He would be in trouble as well for being unable to keep order in the ranks. And he would really have to lay the punishment on thick. Like... really thick in hope she doesnt get in further trouble for insubordination.

Secondly... after what happened with the FPA, he wont be able to bring himself to open fire. And it's very likely, he might have to tell the others to stand down as well.

Still, she's trying to make up for the last couple of times she almost died.

Guess we'll see how it plays out.

Well, I really wish she'd make up for it by being team player. Ryuko was doing so good just now. Hanging back, doing what her superior told her. And now she's cannonballing off again. It becomes very hard to care for someone like that. Someone who's just going to do it their way for their reasons. She wants to be accepted in a team? Be part of the team. Why can't she get that? Aren't there enough good examples in the team for her?
