Slowly but surely, your rolls are getting ridiculous.

Sherwood Sherwood - please remind me.. are the Coalition forces "good" or "bad"? Also, can Trent tell if the armored horseback soldiers fighting demons are Coalition forces?

Think the coalition forces are generally considered "bad" - they're mostly against everything the Rifts brought, including magic, etc. - they also do their best to deny their population proper education to keep them on a short leash. Certainly no friends of freedom-loving people, supernatural things and law-breaking persons; Eric runs away from them if I recall correctly, so that's probably a consideration as well. Of course, that's not everything, and Sherwood probably has more to add...

If you are not a human (or a dog boy) then you are a horrible, evil D-Bee and must be destroyed. If you are a human and use magic, you consort with evil demons and as such, you need to be put down like the rabid dog you are. Of the entire party, only Trent can safely go into Coalition territory without the risk of imprisonment or worse.

The two men on horseback are almost certainly not Coalition.

Man. I've had one good roll.

I hear you, Pips. Like I said earlier, some of us fired the RpN Dice Roller in one of my games.

Sherwood Sherwood
1. What happened to Eric Foss, please?
2. Do any of the other characters in the battle (especially those who have run into the Coalition before) notice that the people are under the Coalition's control?
3. Is there an alternative to using the RpN Dice Roller?

If that is the case Silanon Silanon then the group is helping the "bad" guys... and chances are the mech or suit firing massive shots at the demons would most likely turn its gun on the River Walker once the demons are out of the way....

Wouldn't call the civilians of the coalition "bad guys" in general - just not well-informed thanks to their government. And yeah, that's been a valid possibility from the beginning.

Eric is on the ship with Trent, manning the guns on the Badger.
No one has had any interaction with the locals to know anything about them.
Finally, I can use my own dice to make your rolls of anyone wants me to.

As I said, the figures on horseback are probably not with the Coalition, and from your initial look in Blake's cameras you did not see any signs of a garrison force here.

From one point of view, the Coalition is the one thing keeping humanity safe from the monsters from the darkness out there. It just happens to be that most of us qualify as those monsters.

I am also wondering about the powered suit out there. From the loud booms we are hearing, I am thinking it is a Glitter Boy.

It's really tempting to think of the Coalition as the bad guys. And for many character types, they are. But although their Emperor is genuinely a psycho, so are a number of heads of state (Federation of Magic, you're just as bad or worse). They are fairly racist. But they kill demons, protect their people and create cities and civilization where humans can grow and prosper. The average Coalition citizen doesn't feel oppressed, they feel grateful their government is there to protect them from what's out there (and let's face it, there's plenty out there).

Either way, if this is a Coalition town, the people there are almost certainly not bandits, monsters or predators. They're just people trying to get by like anyone.

Which doesn't change the fact that we could end up reported, and it's entirely possible that Glitter Boy on the hill might turn against us once the demons are dead. We shouldn't stick around. But whether they thank us or not, saving them is (by most moral compasses) a good thing.

One of the most powerful suits of powered armor there is in the game. At full armor, it packs 660 MDC, and its primary weapon is a rail gun called a Boom Gun. It has a range of 11,000 feet and does 3d6x10 per shot.

Yeah... Trent should have the Captain go full throttle through the canal and get away from that thing...

The Coalition States are about as pro-human as you can get on Rifts Earth. They are Nazi-like in their fanaticism while their hierarchy are masterminds at propaganda and governing the people below them. Giants in the realm of technology, scientific advancements (especially genetic), and military strategy, most of the Coalition States great civilian masses and soldiers abhor anything and anyone not like them, largely because they are raised and trained to, knowing little else. It is very likely these CS townsfolk will see our characters as being in league with the very demons we are facing or, if nothing else, just rivals. D-Bees, in the minds of most CS populations, are demons. Meanwhile, for nearly all of these people, it is a crime punishable by death to possess certain literature! Most of the CS population is illiterate and ignorant of opinions outside the CS and kept that way for a reason.

Also, that Glitter Boy, Dano Dano ? I strongly believe he's not with the Coalition. Coalition States don't make those. I'm willing to bet serious credits (if you get my meaning) that whoever is in that power armor is just doing as Glitter Boys do. "GBees" are largely mercenaries and most of them are anti-Coalition States. So much, in fact, that the Coalition States made their own menacing robotic counter to the Glitter Boy, the Glitter Boy Killer.

But every game in every gaming system in every household is different! In Sherwood's game, it may not work that way.

As for the riders, who knows? =)

Not only has the Coalition come up with the Glitter Boy Killer, they also have developed smart lasers that can bypass the laser resistant properties of the armor after a few shots.

It is an interesting fact that the former CS ally of Free Quebec has an army of many thousands of Glitter Boys and their variants. It was long time secret that has just come to the public. Some believe that Free Quebec can even manufacture the ancient armor suits.
