Stinger used poison jab poisoning the pokemon."okay stinger use rock smash again" beedrill buzzed grabbing another rock and tossing it at the kangaschaun.then suddenly without warning stinger grabbed the baby from tis pouch and begain fly high into the air "STINGER WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?"

Before Beedrill was even close to go in the air she grabbed it's foot slamming him back down as she took back her baby poisoned or not. She endured the pain from the poisoning and stepped back running away.

Hiroshi grinned as the Ember knocked Pichu out. If he was weakened by the mouse Pokemon, then his chances of winning against Kristina would be next to nothing. He needed to be smarter in the battle, since Braelyn was using strategies beyond his capability to counter. Since his opponent was starting off quickly, he needed to be quick as well. "Chimchar, leer right away!" His command came right after the girl's. Chimchar's eyes turned red as he glared at the Oshawott; an expression that was strange coming from someone like him. He had to counter a decrease in defense with the same technique, as they would neutralize each other. "Then Scratch!" The ape Pokemon slashed at the otter Pokemon with his nails glowing white.

Braelyn let out a soft growl that only she would be able to hear. He was using his own defense lowering attacks. She needed to drop the Status attacks now then. Hopefully brute force would help her win.

She watched the scene play out once more as Chimchar gained a very intimidating expression that even scared her a little. She hadn't known the little chimp was capable of something so frightening. Of course, Kristina was also quite surprised and was definitely not ready for the Scratch that Chimchar used. At least Kristina had used Tail Whip a little before the leer as far as she could see.

"Alright Kristina, use Water Gun! Then use Tackle!" She cried, listing off a few attacks for the Oshawott and hopefully she could get in at least one of the two.

Braelyn let out a soft growl that only she would be able to hear. He was using his own defense lowering attacks. She needed to drop the Status attacks now then. Hopefully brute force would help her win.

She watched the scene play out once more as Chimchar gained a very intimidating expression that even scared her a little. She hadn't known the little chimp was capable of something so frightening. Of course, Kristina was also quite surprised and was definitely not ready for the Scratch that Chimchar used. At least Kristina had used Tail Whip a little before the leer as far as she could see.

Kristina's Water Gun hit Chimchar, however it her Tackle missed since he had been blasted so far away. When Hiroshi began talking again, he mentioned a "him". She assumed this was Kai he was talking about and the sentence made sense.

"If all you're aiming for is to beat Kai, then you shouldn't be on a journey." She called out to him, knowing full well he dreamed the same dream as Kai. He shouldn't be focused on beating his rival though, for that would soon blot out his dream of being Champion. "Kristina, counter the Ember with Water Gun!" She commanded, hoping that the water type move would prevent Ember from hitting its target.

She giggled softly at the look of surprise on Hiroshi's face from her statement earlier. Now that she thought about it, the way she had said it had been pretty harsh. At least, for her it had been. She hadn't meant for it to sound that way of course either.

As soon as Hiroshi gave his Chimchar the next command, Braelyn realized the mistake she had made by telling Kristina to use Water Gun. Their battlefield was now covered in smoke that made it nearly impossible to see. What could she do? Even though fire wasn't very effective, it would still hurt to be hit by it.

"Kristina! Jump when you feel the heat of the Ember attack!" She called, desperate enough to try anything worth a shot.




Kristina was suddenly unable to see as the smoke clouded her vision. She now had no sight, but she trusted Braelyn to get her out. They were so close to winning! And then the Oshawott heard the command. At the very last possible second, Kristina leaped into the air, using her small tail as a spring to give her more height. She yelped as she felt her tail being burned by the Ember Attack, but she was able to jump high above the smoke with the extra force.




"Spin and use Water Gun!" Braelyn cried as she saw her Pokemon appear above the cloud of smoke. Maybe with this tactic, the small Oshawott could clear the sight-impairing cloud.


The result of this attack was a dazzling display of gleaming water droplets as they crashed down like rain.

Kristina's spinning Water Gun succeeded in clearing away a majority of the smoke and the Sea Otter Pokemon landed gracefully back on their battlefield. Braelyn could tell her Pokemon was tiring though. At this point, Braelyn didn't even care if they won. Her Pokemon had done wonderfully so far, and for their second battle that was as much as she could ask for.

Hiroshi's moment of distraction gave her that much longer to think of something to do. With Kristina tiring, this battle couldn't last too much longer. His Chimchar must be getting pretty close too she would think. Eventually, her friend called out a command to his Chimchar.

"Kristina, try and dodge it and then use Tail Whip!" It was worth a shot to use status moves again. Hiroshi was most likely bent on physical attacks to end the battle quickly as well by now.


The Oshawott had still been amazed by her own display of attacks, and by the time her trainer's words registered, it was too late. Kristina attempted to moved, but the Ember attack hit her in the side. With a strange yelp, Kristina fell to the ground. The little Sea Otter picked itself up slowly, but one could see it was in great pain. The Ember had burned Kristina and that would quickly drain away the energy.


The Oshawott still used Tail Whip, although her tail was a little burned as well from earlier.

This battle had definitely changed course of direction. Towards the beginning, she had appeared to have the upper hand, but that was no longer the case. Kristina's Tail Whip succeeded, but it also allowed Chimchar to grab the Oshawott's tail.

"Shake him off Kristina! Hurry!" She commanded to no avail. Despite Kristina's best effort, she couldn't shake the Chimchar off. Not only that, but in this position, Kristina couldn't attack back. The Ember hit the Oshawott hard, and Braelyn knew the battle was done right then.


Kristina had fainted from the close range attack despite it not being very effective. With a soft smile, Kristina was returned to her Pokeball. Braelyn looked over at Hiroshi, "Nice job Hiroshi."

He didn't expect to win against Braelyn, but that gave him more confidence. He was set on battling either the gym leader or Kai, whichever he could first, but since night was approaching it probably would be better to get something to eat first. His stomach growled right as he thought that, and his face was red in embarrassment. "Sorry about that."


He realized that they had to go to the Pokemon Center again to heal their Pokemon, and apologized. "I'm also sorry that we have to go to the Pokemon Center again." He walked into the Pokemon Center and gave the Pokeball which contained Scyther, and Chimchar who he was holding to the nurse to heal.

Renting a hotel room he released his pokemon which blasted out of their pokeballs and shot to the floor. Staravia looked around the room tiredly and lays there trying to fall asleep. Charmander seemed tired as well as he climbed on the bed and fell asleep. Kai smiled a his pokemon and decided to lay down as well and fall asleep once more. Before he could go to sleep he got a message from the professor saying that to meet an assistant early in the morning at the pokemart to collect the pokedex that was promised to be given. Kai turned off his watch as he looked at the ceiling and slowly fell asleep.​

The nurse nodded and Braelyn soon had a key to her room in her hand. Braelyn glanced over at Hiroshi, a small smile on her face. "Well, I'm set for the night. Not sure about you."

Eric was the first to make his way over to Hiroshi's Pokemon and the little Pichu looked up at the Scyther, trying to determine wether it was still an opponent or not. Kristina on the other hand just waved a little to both Pokemon and then hopped up to sit on Braelyn's lap.

It was strangely quiet. Usually Braelyn was alright wit it being quiet, but she kind of wanted to talk. She had opened up more today than she really had her whole life and she didn't want to shut that off again. However, she couldn't think of anything to talk about, so she stayed quiet and watched their Pokemon.

Eric jumped as the Scyther poked at it and the Pichu raced off to hide behind Braelyn's leg. He looked over to see that Chimchar was doing the same. "Pi...chu?" He squeaked out, staking a few steps towards the Chimp Pokemon.

The silence was very strange to him so he thought he'd break it. "So...where do you think Kai is right now?" He wasn't very good at communicating with others, but he felt like he had to say something, even if it was just useless talk. Chimchar was startled as he saw another Pokemon appear and walk towards him, and moved a few steps back, frightened.

The silence was very strange to him so he thought he'd break it. "So...where do you think Kai is right now?" He wasn't very good at communicating with others, but he felt like he had to say something, even if it was just useless talk. Scyther was left confused why Eric ran away, and moved to Kristina, poking her too. Chimchar was startled as he saw another Pokemon appear and walk towards him, and moved a few steps back, frightened.

Braelyn sighed at the mention of Kai. "I don't know honestly. He still needs to challenged the gym, unless he did that after he left me stranded in the forest." She muttered, keeping her gaze on the ground in front of her. She had no clue where he was. For all she knew, he could be in a room at the Pokemon Center or he could be well on his way to the next city. Either way, she doubted she would be able to find him again.




"There was going to be a contest tomorrow, but I'm not going to participate on such short notice. I'll actually probably head to the next city first thing in the morning anyways since there is no reason for me to stay here." She murmured, her eyes flicking up to look over at Hiroshi.


Kristina glanced up skeptically as the Scyther began poking her, but since he was doing her no actual harm she just allowed him to continue.


Eric on the other hand was now set on making friends with this Chimchar. He placed his two tiny paws up in the air to show that he meant no harm and took another step forward. "Pichu chu-chu pi!" (Come on, I just wanna be friends!)

Hiroshi didn't think that Kai would just challenge the gym before searching for Braelyn first. He was sure that the guy was probably worried sick looking for the girl everywhere. He was astonished when she mentioned that she was going to head to the next city in the morning. "But wouldn't you have more of a chance finding Kai if you stayed in this city for some time? We could set out searching for him first thing in the morning." He suggested. He definitely wasn't okay with her moving on and not settling things with Kai, and when they started their journey he wanted all of them to do it together. He couldn't allow them all to be separated this early. Thinking it through though, if Kai was really searching for them, he should've found them by now. If he didn't find them the next day, he would be seriously disappointed in him in that he left a person alone in the forest and didn't take any responsibility for him.





"Either way, I'm staying in this city to challenge the gym leader." He stated. He might even learn something about Kai's whereabouts if he battles the gym leader, since he would probably battle them the next day too.





Scyther kept poking Kristina. Chimchar was skeptical about making friends with the Pichu. Before he could decide what to do, however, the food arrived and Hiroshi carried him up to the food, feeding him and Scyther a poffin. He began digging into his sandwich, his face turning red and a wide smile forming on it due to how good the food was.
