She thanked him quietly, just watching Freya happily until Noah got back up there with breakfast and she set her down so Carmen could eat. Once her father had left she was looking over to Noah and smiling tiredly as she saw he was just staring down at her. “You okay?” She murmured tiredly.

Erik was up the following morning and watching cartoons downstairs while he waited for his mom to get up

Noah smiled some at her and nodded "Just in awe of how amazing you did." He said softly before kissing her forehead "I love you so much."

Max came down and frowned a bit seeing Erik already awake "Good morning honey, why didn't you come wake me?" She asked quietly as she sat beside him on the couch.

She smiled tiredly and just leaned into his arms. “Mmm I love you too. You okay with her if I get a quick nap in before she gets hungry again?” She asked him yawning a little.

He shrugged a bit and just turned to face the tv more, cuddling one of his toys

Noah smiled and nodded "Yeah of course, get a nap love and when you wake up if she's asleep we'll get you a shower." He said softly

Max frowned deeply and turned off the TV trying to get Erik to speak to her "Erik, darling talk to me." She said quietly giving a small sigh "You miss him too don't you?"

She nodded and yawned a bit, moving carefully to get a little more comfortable before drifting off.

A month of having Freya in their lives and Carmen was still on cloud nine. Exhausted beyond belief but happier than ever. She watched her in her car seat while Jack took them up to the offices, going to surprise Noah to take him out for lunch. She got her into her pram once they were parked, taking her inside and straight through to the elevator up to his floor.

Amma had picked max up immediately after Erik had been dropped off at preschool, taking her out for them to get their nails done ahead of tonight’s gala. “So Bill is going to be there for sure now. Hvitserk was talking with his brother yesterday. I overheard some of the conversation. Have you made your mind up yet?” She asked her. They’d talked at length recently about how the families were mending bridges now and whether it was more important to max to be happy or remain part of the family in the way she was.

Noah was sat at the office having a shit day. This job was not easy by any means for him. He was in a whole other element that he wasn't prepared for. He brightened up immediately when he saw Carmen coming in "Hey, what are you doing here?" He asked happily before standing up and smiling wider when he heard Freya cooing.

Max smiled a bit as she made her way out with Amma. She gave a heavy sigh when she asked about Bill and shrugged "I...I'm not sure. I'd like to talk to him again, see where he is at." She explained with a small shrug "Part of me wants to just tell him lets run off together, but I know he won't leave."

She smiled and stepped over, kissing his cheek. “Get your coat. We’re kidnapping you for lunch.” She told him. “It was Freya’s idea.” She smiled, watching him make a beeline for their daughter. For all his worrying while she was pregnant he had been such a good dad.

She shrugged a little and nodded. “I get that. But if he makes you happy. And the families are no longer warring. Which, let’s not forget was partly thanks to bill taking out Kalf… I think that was him trying to send you a message but giving you space as well.”

Noah smiled wider and gave a small chuckle "Is that right? You made that decision?" He asked Freya before looking back to Carmen "I swear I think you have telepathy. Today has been rough."

Max nodded and sighed heavily "Yeah you have a point." She said running a hand over her face "I just want to be away from all this honestly."

She smiled a little and nodded. “You can tell me everything over lunch.” She promised, kissing his cheek again and waited while he grabbed his coat, heading out into the chilly autumn air once he was ready. “I thought we’d go to the French restaurant down by the bridge.” She told him, taking his hand with her free one.

She nodded and frowned a little. “I get that. I’d ask Hvitty to go live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere if I thought he could leave his family.” She sighed.

Noah smiled a bit and gave her hand a small squeeze "Mmm that sounds nice." He murmured before kissing her cheek "You two been having a good day?" He asked gently while they walked.

Max gave a small laugh to that and nodded some "I'd love to live the quiet suburban life for Erik. Thats another reason I worry....I know he misses Ivar, I'm worried that he might not like Bill."

She nodded and smiled "We've had a very relaxed morning. Lilly came over for a coffee. I am now living vicariously through her and the girls for partying." She smiled, "But I am happy as we are." She told him, glancing down at Freya. "I wouldn't trade this for the world." She smiled, "How late do you expect to be at the gala tonight?" She asked him as he was expected to be there but she wasn't ready to leave Freya with anyone just yet.

She shrugged "And if you don't try you won't know... Maybe he is exactly what Erik needs now." She told her, enjjoying all of their pampering for the day, hoping she was enjoying having Ubbe and Torvi's nanny picking up Erik after school for the night so that she could fully enjoy the night
