Whatever initiative is lost is transferred to someone else, so the spell in theory could be used as a Distract Gambit.

In theory, but not effectively as using the spell does reset initiative, thus does lose any.

I usually like to have the rolls like that in the IC thread, so I don't have to go hunting for them between the OOC and the IC thread.
