The guild hall was crowded with unfamiliar faces clad in cold metal mask, the type which clearly favored conflict to social calls. Cassiel didn't have to rely on his elven heritage to detect the tension in the room as numerous eyes set upon him and Dura; Wolves returning to an occupied home. One of the intruders wore a particularly twisted visage of black iron and wasted no time in addressing them; the posture and attitude marking her as a leader of these men.
The knight goaded and paced around the pair, offering more questions than answers. The elf put forth the effort to retain his neutral expression though his heart was more in tune with the bubbling anger Dura emanated. Surely John, for that was how Cass had decided to think of the man until introduced otherwise, had kept a number of things from them. Perhaps too many, but enough to warrant a full scale siege? The mage assumed there where personal grudges at play and while he welcomed the opportunity to dig around their leaders past for later recordings in the guild annals; he did not enjoy the attitude accompanying these would be conquerors.
“It has been a long day, made longer by the fact that our travel arrangements were delayed... I would be more inclined to discuss these matters over a cup of tea; you are our guests after all.” he stated coldly, seeming more concerned with the men loitering near the small library than John's current whereabouts. Outside a cloud of dust rose into the air and the nervous tension in the room doubled but no one made a move aside from raised brows and confused murmuring.
“Perhaps you should go take a look, dust devils are unusual around these parts...” Cassiel addressed the room but looked past the dark iron clad leader at those nearest to his sanctum as if prompting them to leave. His own curiosity was piqued but neither leaving Dura nor turning his back to the pacing knight appeared to be a wise choice; so he matched her piercing gaze with a cold stare of his own and waited.
