Fandom Journey to the Unknown Lands

Désirée sat silently among the other representatives as a multitude of events had unfolded around her. Most were just others talking to each other, while some yelling had also happened. What she had not expected, however, were giant fireballs hurtling towards them all. Being a grass type, she was the first one to get up, feeling the heat before all the others had. Her eyes glowing a bright red, Désirée tried her best to attempt at a psychic attack to ward off the flames, but it was no use as they all ran off to the forest to evade them. She had used her skills in sorcery to float and almost fly above the ground to attack at the flames. Still miraculously silent, the mysterious Trevenant merely kept with the group, only speaking when needed while she was with the group again.

Jagger was flying along the skies, easily spotting the group of representatives that he was there to join. They all fled from large flames, so he merely followed them with some concern. The Noivern was late, sure, but it took time to look as handsome as he did. He flew over the forest and landed beside the group. "Well, what in the world caused those flames?" Jagger asked simply as his large wings folded up behind him.

Tae had remained relatively quiet throughout the general exchange, first as a sign of respect for the gathered leaders, then simply because she didn't want to get swept up in the multitude of teenage relations and first impressions. She had been mildly surprised at the lack of security, but some of the monarchies were headed by warriors so there wouldn't have been many foolhardy enough to crash this exchange. After the monarchs had left, Tae took it upon herself to pace around, eyes roving the skies for signs of danger. This mission had hardly been shrouded in secrecy, and she doubted the evil would sit idly by while they planned a counter-attack, not if they were aggressive enough to whisk away gijinka from inner countries, away from the outer fringes. Her suspicions were confirmed a moment later when small black specks seemed to suddenly appear and dot the sky -only visible due to her hawk vision, and even then only just- like tiny stars.

"Everyone..." Tae called out, already tensing; she wasn't able to finish. The spheres of dark energy traveling surprising fast, keening as they sliced through air and aimed towards them. She dived to avoid one that was dangerously close to where she stood, smoothly dropping into a roll and ignoring the ominous boom that trembled the air and ruffled her wings. Scowling as she saw that they were being forced to the forest, she had no choose but to follow the rest of the group. The forest was a terrible place to seek shelter, at least from her perspective; it obscured sight and movement, and only acted as another weapon, a source of spiraling shrapnel if the dark energy managed to hit one(which was very likely). "Make sure to stay away from the trees themselves." she called out, command level and slightly rough with apprehension. Her gaze then turned at the sound of a surprisingly casual voice, belonging to who she believed was the dragon representative, if the wings were any indication.

"It most likely belongs to the ones who want to sabotage this mission, the ones who started kidnapping gijinka in the first place. I've never seen this attack before, however." She replied. Tae couldn't help but feel a small rush of anticipation, an image of her wife popping up in her head. Perhaps if she were to find this monster...

The Oracle felt the gem in his forehead pulse wildly a telltale sign of an impending vision. He saw one of the black fireballs splashing on the ground next to himself and the ground rep. Jumping forward he grabbed the female by the shoulders and pulled her to the side away from the fire making them both fall in the dirt.
"Sorry I thought that one was going to be closer." Pushing himself upright he offered her a hand. "We should find the others...I guess it might be better to spread out actually or maybe..." Catching himself he shook his head and finished. "Just lead on, I'll just follow you and hope I see whatever's actually about to kill us coming."
Talia growled as the espeon suddenly grabbed her. As they finished their roll she readied her club to smash his skull when the explosion of black fire erupted near where they stood. She grumbled and stood up, grabbing the male's shirt. She ran forward into the trees without much hassel at all, dragging him with her. It was no different than running through the streets of her home city while lugging around a bundle of food.

Nox acted quickly as he heard the attack coming towards them. He curled himself over Caligo, the metal panels on his back shining with Iron Defence. Once the attack landed a foot or two away, Caligo clambered onto the giant's shoulder. Once she was secure, Nox began running. He straightened to his full hight, his long legs allowing for quick movement. Caligo kept an eye out for any other representatives, obsticals, and their attacker. Whoever it was was elusive. Neither Caligo could decipher where the attacker may be. "Neo!" Caligo called out, spotting the other gijinka thanks to the giant golem following him. "Do you know who's attacking us?" She asked as Nox caught up to the boy and ran next to him.

@Kiroshiven

Kuro coughed as smoke filled his already weak lungs. He unfurled his wings and gave one powerful flap to take to the air. He flew only a few feet above the ground. He moved quickly, weaving around trees. He spotted two other gijinka. A marowak and espeon by the looks of it. He caught up to them and flew next to the pair. He wouldn't be able to keep up if he was running normally. "What is going on?" He asked despite his hesitancy to speak. He felt that the situation needed an explanation.

Crimson almost jumps out of his skin when the first fireball lands nearby. His mind immediately registers the danger. They were being attacked outright and were caught completely off guard. Using a burst of explosive flame behind himself, Crimson propels himself forward and gives himself a much needed boost in momentum. He hits the ground running and takes off in the direction the other blaziken and the gijinka who had followed her. He ran hard, as he still felt the heat of the flames upon his skin. His nerves and senses were now completely tuned in on everything around himself. as he continues to run his thoughts start racing in his head as to who could possibly be attacking them.

Xerses heard something faint in the distance, however before he could even think of investigating it, a hail of fireballs rained down on the group, he looked back towards Caligo and saw Nox protecting her, he tensed a little less knowing that she was safe, the less they were to fight this threat the harder it'd be to defeat it, when the fireballs landed Xerses jumped into the air by one of them getting a little too close, he could feel the heat scorching the skin on his leg, however he quickly recovered, before landing he threw a Shadow Ball at the fire with his right hand, and a Shadow Claw with his left, it did not even make the fire flicker. He looked back at Caligo and Nox and saw that they'd started running, he decided to follow them, even though his leg was singed so did he quickly catch up to them, even though Nox was huge so did Xerses' small frame let him keep up with them.

Sonya was surprised by the assault at first and scrambled to react like many of the others. However, she quickly recomposed herself and merely glided across the field, carrying herself with elegance and dignity. Her movement across the field looked more like a dance than her running for her life as she waltzed her way into the forrest. She turned to the noivern and the talonflame. One had just arrived and one finally spoke. "So you finally join us dragon rep?" Sonya flipped her hair of her shoulder in annoyance that it moved out of place. "And as for the trees? I dont know if theyre dangerous. We should ask the grass, poison and steel reps what they think. They would have better analyses of these than just a flyer." Sonya was being polite and seemed kind to an untrained ear, but she was saying that a bird wouldnt really have the best info on trees. And maybe it was Sonya's prejudice against fire types, but she was not happy that the talonflame tried to take charge.

As Droll was following the bone-headed girl, it appeared that he was caught in some sort of ambush along with everyone else. Droll was very startled by this, he did not think to be caught in the middle of some battle so quickly. He took cover and tried to find out what was happening. His head filled with so many questions. What's going on, who was attacking, where is it coming from, all these inquiries were just flustering around in his mind. Unfortunately, he did not have time to answer them. He noticed some of the other representatives falling back. He decided that they probably had the right idea and followed them.

Yyerevan walked up from behind the group speaking of the trees at the mention of a poison type request. He examined him, but quietly shook his head. "As far as I am able to tell, the trees will not harm you through use of Poison, of that much I can be sure." The Dustox seemed strangely calm for what was occurring, and calmly started walking into the forest. He had examined the fireballs, and there was really only one direction to go that they wouldn't be incinerated. It was probably a trap, but the Dustox figured the group would do better with something to fight.

Turning back around at the group, he raises a brow.

"Well, are we going or not? I don't care to become ash anytime soon."

"Everything is on fire and the fire is black! Whatever else there is to know is a brand new mystery for us to uncover!" Grunting at a particularly harsh tug on his shirt The Oracle turned away from the flier to glare at the back of the ground rep's helm. "Hey I can run by myself you know!" Grabbing at the Marowak's wrist he tried to free his shirt but couldn't loosen the iron grip. "If this is how you you say 'thank you' for not letting you get flamed can I just say 'you're welcome' and make you let go me?"

Talia threw the male down beneath a tree. "Look, from what I can tell, I'm faster than you." She already could tell she wanted to smash this guy with her club. "If I can read you right, you're either a hermit or someone that doesn't interact with the lowly bottom feeders. Otherwise, you'd have known that if it weren't for the fireballs, you'd have a broken arm.....or two." Talia mumbled the second part. She was angry about a lot of things and taking it out on this guy was easy. "Now shut up while we let the braniacs figure out what they want to do. Got it?" Talia left no room for argument as she put her back against the tree and waited for the others to speak. A moment later she whispered a soft "Thanks for saving me." Then proceeded to act completely uninterested in anything except for what was going to happen next.

Claudia rescued as many of the sweets as she could while the fireballs rained down around them. She scooped them up, throwing them into her container before running across the field. She leaped through the fire scorching some parts of her as she bounded into the forest. Her breathing was frantic as she started looking at everyone, making sure none of them had injuries, but sadly she felt they all could use some healing. "Ok then." She twirled around, "everyone feel the power of a smile." She said as she popped into one of her poses and flashed a beaming smile. A bright glow erupted from Claudia and soon everyone's wounds were closing up and healing. Claudia covered up her own woulds as she stood there hoping that nobody would notice.

"No idea Caligo. But for now it seems our enemy has decided to leave us alone." Neo felt the heal pulse from the normal rep and smiled. "Good, everyone's feeling well then." Neo sighed as he looked at the large group of twenty beings including the two golems. They'd be an easy target if they stuck together. However, splitting up into small teams would make them easier to pick off. Neo grumbled as he finally decided to put it before the group. "Look, I don't think it's wise for the twenty of us to be clustered together, but at the same time it's dangerous to split up. i've gotten a chance to inspect all of you." Neo's mechanical eye shifted slightly. "And I could split us up into pairs, or we can stay all together. It's up to you all." Neo excluded himself. "And Nox's vote won't count Caligo. Sorry, but he's technically part of you from what I can tell." This made the number of voters 17, unless someone decided NOT to vote, there shouldn't be any chance of a tie. Neo didn't really think that either was bad, but it came down to the other's decision.

Caligo gave a small smile as she noticed Xerses running next to Nox. She couldn't do much more since she was directing the giant between the trees. Nox's impeded vision caused running at any speed faster than a jog raise the possibility of crashing exponentially. Once they stopped, Caligo slid down Nox's arm and stood next to Xerses. She petted his head. "Glad to see you're doing alright." She said with a smile before the heal pulse washed over them. Thanks to Nox, Caligo had gotten out of the attack injury free. However, the heal pulse helped repair the damage to Nox's back plates. Caligo listened to what Neo had to say to the group and pondered his idea carefully. "I think it would be safer to split and then meet up later. We should stay together because of the unknown territory and threats, but until we're sure we're out of harms way... That's my vote." She decided with a nod. If the others also went with her route, there were a few people she hoped to get paired with. Then again, there were many of the reps that she hadn't spoken to yet.

Droll was just confused of the whole situation. He wasn't sure if he regretted leaving the electric kingdom just to end up mingling and then being surrounded by black flames. Then again, if he wanted to have a chance in dating royalty, he had to start somewhere. He stuck close to the other reps and stopped when it seemed they reached a safe spot, even if it was for the time being. Droll enjoyed the heal pulse, even though he didn't really felt like he deserved it. All he did really has mingle and hid, not something that Droll was really proud of. The thought came to him that it was probably time to step up to the plate. He wasn't sure who he was going to achieve this, but he was sure his opportunity was coming up. He then heard Neo mention the idea of splitting up. Two teammates depending on each-other, he could work with that! This was the perfect opportunity he was looking for. Droll replied, "I second that, divide and conquer." and just left it at that. He didn't want to come on too strong to the idea of separating the group, even thou he thought this was a chance to prove himself to one of his fellow teammates, but at least his opinion was said.

Xerses growled at first when Caligo petted him, however he stopped pretty quickly, his face softening and his usual bright, diamond eyes turned into a slight shade of garnet red, he pulled away his head though before there'd be any noticable change and watched as the Heal Pulse recovered his singed leg, as for his opinion on what they should do next he knelt down and drew a line in the dirt with two dots on each side of it, showing that he'd prefer to go in pairs. His danger sense told him that they should stick together and try to identify this unknown threat, however his assassin career had taught him that it'd be a lot easier to move with less people to drag along.

Well, that was a terrifying start to the journey. Tallula had run into the trees with everyone else, which was made difficult by a lovely second, almost third, degree burn on her foot. When she grouped up with the other representatives, she felt safe enough to sit for a moment and examine her burn. It made her a bit queasy, but she had to do something about it. Or not. The heal pulse from Claudia quickly fixed it, though it was still rather unpleasant to watch her skin reform. She stood up tentatively and tested it, finding that it felt completely normal.

Now that she was free of worry of pain, she could pay attention to what the other reps were saying. They were taking a vote on splitting up. Splitting up and going where exactly? They didn't exactly have a planned destination, as far as she knew. And splitting up in general seemed like a horrible idea to her. She was a sucker for horror movies, and it was a classic situation: the main characters split up, the killer has an easier time finding them because they're covering more ground, and then they die. And it never helps that the main characters are always hella wimpy. And how many of the gijinka here were virgins? The virgin always dies first. That fact didn't comfort Tallula in the slightest.

"I don't think splitting up is a good idea," she said matter-of-factly, but a bit more quietly than intended. "It'll be way to easy for our attacker to find and hurt us!"

Yyerevan took the Dewgon's outburst to way into the conversation. It was a challenging proposition after all. "Hurt us? No doubt, but find us..." His voice trails off. "My dear, I must sadly admit I know more of the ways of the assassin then I should, and let me tell you. It is much easier to find and set traps for a large group. The challenge becomes this: Stick together and suffer attack, as we will have no way of concealing ourselves for the most part, or divide into smaller, much harder to find groups...albiet if a group is found, they will be much more hard pressed. That said, We don't know anything of our foe except for the recent attack, which works far better on a large groups. Because of that , I have to give my vote to dividing into pairs."

Yyerevan paused to bow to the group. "That said, I will have no problem bending my will to the groups decision., and for those who are not aware. My name is Yyerevan, of the poison kingdom."

Well this went to shit quickly. They were barely in the unknown lands, just out of sight of civilisation, and there were already fireballs being flung at them, ones made of exploding darkness as well.

This all occurred to Sirris in less than a second as he saw the fireballs, and moved at immense speed to dodge them and run for cover, the nearest being the forest towards which they had been walking in the first place. Within a few seconds he was there, waiting for the others. Bugger them if they thought he was risking his skin to save their sorry arses.

Eventually a few of them got to safety as well, including the Sableye, the fairy duo, the dragon, and a couple of others. As long as a fair few of them survived the mission would do fine.

"Split up. Each of us go off in small groups, 1 to 3, and agree to meet up later at a specific point, something like a hill we can all see. I'll go alone, I can cover a lot of ground quickly." He said in his gruff, emotionless way he so often used to hide how much many people irritated him. Pointing to a hill a few miles off, he continued, "I say we meet up at the top of that hill. It looks like it has some fairly flat ground for camping, and we'll have a very good view of the area surrounding us. We can decide where to go from there. Understood?"

Sonya glared at the accelgor gijinka. "Oh no. None of this bravado stupidity. Let me rephrase what the boy said. He'll divide us into PAIRS. That means two people to a group. That way we can't just be offed by a small number of enemies. If you wanted to go be a solo act you shouldn't have come to this. This isn't any one person's chance at glory. And it's not any one kingdom's chance to get over the other. This is a united effort in which we are all going to save our homes." Sonya turned back to the group. "I'm all for splitting up normally, but this time I have to cast my vote towards staying as a group. We may be easier to find, but we also still have one healer." Sonya pointed to Claudia. "And as for you!" She glared at Sirris. "My recommendation is you rethink your vote. Nobody is going alone in this plan." Sonya walked away from the bug kingdom rep and leaned back against a tree.

Apex still held in hands, while did manage to slice apart some of the fireballs there were too many to fight against and so he covered their escape, meeting the others as the Blaziken Gijinka punched a tree. "Stupid Idiot!" She cursed, embers dropping from her white hair. "Why the hell did i run away?... In fact: Why did any of you?!" Apex simply stood by Caligo. "Because no one had a plan, if you go against your enemy without a plan than you might as well be throwing your life away." The Aggron said as Ashe turned to him with a glare in her eyes. "I thought i told you to shut it." She growled as Apex turned to her, his armour clinking as he did. "You are not my superior, nor are you a mentor, you are a power hungry Representitive whom i doubt would've being picked solely to kill the creatures of the Badlands." Apex states, Ashe stood, face blank before she moved in the blink of a eye as she threw a Power Up Punch, Apex barely blocking it with his greatsword as Ashe's wrists and legs exploded in flames. "SHUT UP OLD MAN! WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?! FORGOT YOUR VITAMINS OR SOMETHING?! HEADING TO THE RETIREMENT HOME?!" She screeched before Apex frowned and struck her with a Dragon Rush, the hit loud and making a loud crack as she stumbled backwards, Apex still holding his sword, now tarnished with the cracks and dent caused by the Punch. "Remember who your enemy is." The Knight stated as Ashe growled, flames burning hot as she thought 'Why haven't i killed him yet? It'd be so easy, and i could melt his steel to lava...' She thought.

Neo sighed as he watched the mega blaziken and the aggron duke it out. "Those fireballs weren't normal. Fire, isn't black, except on black stars. But even then they don't burn like that." He pointed out to the field that was already smoldering. "It burned a specific amount of space. That means that likely someone's controlling it. And letting it hit any of us could've spelled certain death. Even for a fire type like yourself." Neo's knowledge and analytical skill was needed here, even against someone that is pure fury, reason can hold it's ground. "Now, I'm going to assume you want to split up Ms. Fighting kingdom rep. As for you, Apex was it? What's your vote?"

Ashe growled and crossed her arms, fires simmering down. "Damn right." Apex shut his eyes and thought. "If those fireballs were controlled then we're dealing with someone with a powerful Mental capability... They controlled the fireballs to keep us together... So i recommend we go into various groups, the larger Gijinka such as myself will distract the controller by attempting to split up while Xerses and other Steathy Pokemon can locate where the fireballs came from and who is firing them." He thought aloud. "Afterwards however, i vote we stay together to defend each other."

Talia nodded in agreement with Apex. "I don't think whatever it was is going to keep attacking us with the fireballs though. It'd lose out on its hiding spot. And after all, it pushed us into the unknown lands. It WANTS us here." Talia was hoping the group would be able to understand her coming to this conclusion. Street smarts had taught her about inviting enemies into your turf so that it was easier for you to fight them. "So staying as a large group is just as dangerous as splitting up. Splitting up though, means we have better chances of discovering the missing gijinka." Talia spun her club in her hands. "So my vote is to split up." Talia turned to the group to see what their reactions were.
