Fandom Island of Hetalia

Isle of man

Ellen quickly followed Arthur keeping up with his pace , or atleast trying too. She pulled the knife kiku had given her and burst through the foliage into the camp ground .

"Italy! Alfred! Romeo! Can you hear me " She yelled so if whitbey was about to attack ssomene she could distract him for a moment. She held the knife tightly and ran towards the cave to see italy alone . Ellen quickened her pace so she could reach italy first.

Maria had also taken off after the two siblings who had ran ahead, her rough and callous hands grasping at the hilts of her swords as she mentally prepared herself for a battle as the camp soon appeared within her line of sight. Arthur and Ellen were already there, with the latter approaching Feliciano, who was completely alone aside from Romeo, who alas, was still unconscious. She soon realized that Alfred was gone yet again, though if her mind wasn't tricking her, he was taken not too long ago. "Diyos ko..." She murmured, worry overcoming the personification.

"He was here!"  Feliciano began speaking quickly, hardly pausing for breath.  "Whitney.  He filled the cave with smoke and took Alfred -  that way, see the trail? - and I didn't think I should go after him alone, but you've got to hurry!  He's ben gone for almost an hour now."  After his futile search to find the others in the jungle, he'd returned to campgrowing more apprehensive by the minute.  Since the others had gone out to find the island's personification, he'd begun to wonder if Whitney had taken them as well, and when Kiku and Gilbert didn't appear right away, that fear returned.

"Where's Prussia and Japan?"

Prussia

Gilbert had trained himself to move quickly when he was injured.

It was an important skillset back in his Templar days. The group ran through the jungle, disrupting the peaceful night, with heavy footsteps as they charged through the foliage. They finally reached the cave, seeing it empty.

Gilbert looked around, Romeo was half hidden behind a rock.

Feliciano & Alfred were gone.

"That bastard...."

When Felciano caught sight of Prussia on the other side of camp, he hurried over, relieved.  While he'd known Arthur and Maria for a while, and Ellen had become a friend on the island, he'd spent much more time with Gilbert, so after what had just happened, seeing him safe was especially good.

"Gilbert!  I'm so happy you're okay!  But what happened?  I thought you guys were going to find Whitney?  Though I guess you didn't... he's taken Alfred.  What should we do?"

Seeing Feliciano run back through the foliage caused relief to flood through the Prussian. Once the Italian was done talking, Gilbert scooped him into a hug.

"I'm so glad your okay Italy."

He let go, and brushed off his ragged uniform. He ended up taking off the jacket, tossing it down.

"The bastard saw straight through our trap."

He looked around, looking for any sign.

"Does anyone see footprints, or maybe some downed foliage...?"

Gilbert asked.

"Over there."  Feliciano pointed to the trail Whitney and Alfred had left, now less visible as darkness began to fall.  "But if he got past six of you the last time, won't that happen again if you follow him?"  He genuinely wanted to do something to help Alfred, but he also didn't like the thought of walking into even more danger.  And now that it really was after sunset, they wouldn't even be able to spot Whitney if he took them by surprise.

Ellen looked around the area and noticed some broken branches in some bushes. She walked over at began to examine them unsure what caused them " there is some broken bushes over here" she mummbled to focused on trying to find out that happened.

Ellen pushed some of the branches aside to see what was behind them. Seeing nothing she stood up "false alarm nothing behind there" she walked back over to the group.

(What's happened so far? It seems like you guys only get active when I'm offline.) xD

"Your right..."

Options were getting slim, and Gilbert was getting restless. Whitney had evaded them and deceived them. He was the very definition of cunning. Catching him would be difficult.

The culmination of days' work. Not half of an hour.

"We have an issue. We obviously can't catch him with a quick trap. We need an elaborate one that ould take a long time, but that gives him an opportunity to spy on us. We're close to checkmate. We dont even know what he's doing with Alfred right now...."

Starting to imagine it terrified Gilbert.

Arthur had walked over to join the two, and as he came close, caught the last of Gilbert's remark.  "You're right; we haven't got many options."  He was on the verge of suggesting they take their chances and go after Whitney now since he had one of them, but he knew that that wouldn't end well.  For the time being, at least, they didn't have any advantage in following that trail.

"I'd suggest we start by making camp as safe as possible.  If we can gather a few makeshift torches to brighten up the clearing, he won't be able to sneak up on us, and we ought to keep watch in pairs.  And if there's anything else we can do to defend ourselves, more precautions wouldn't hurt."

"Yes, very helpful, Gilbert," he muttered, hardly as enthusiastic as the other nation.  He really wasn't liking their chances against Whitney; even though it was one against several of them, he probably knew every inch of the island, not to mention his shotgun, which would let him attack from a distance.  They;d be best off in the caves, then, he thought, which offered some protection, but decided to see to the torches first.

"Look - over there."  A few fallen branches lay close by, and he walked over, using his foot to snap off a long segment.  "These'll be good enough to use for extra lighting."

Italy

"I wonder why he only took Alfred," Feliciano thought aloud, still standing with Gilbert.  "And why would he want to kidnap any of us in the first place?"

Prussia

"Alfred probably was unconcious, or closer. He's taking whoever he can when it's convenient for him....for why.........thats something I don't feel like pondering."

Gilbert scooped up some twigs, and brought them to Arthur.

Before long, they had enough extra kindling for a second fire and a few long branches as well.  Arthur managed to get a spark after a moment of striking a pair of small rocks together, setting the kindling aflame.  He picked up one of the branches, holding it in the fire for a moment until it was set alight, then carried it over near the cave where he stuck it upright in the ground.  As he set about lighting the rest of the torches, his thoughts turned to Feliciano and Gilber's conversation.

"You know, maybe we're thinking about this the wrong way.  He obviously doesn't care if he harms or kills one of us - we saw that much when he pulled out that shotgun.  But he still doesn't have much to gain from going after us... except if he thought we were the danger," he pointed out.  "What if this supplier he mentioned somehow convinced him that we're out to get him?  It would explain why he'd be so careful about confronting us in larger groups, wouldn't it?"

Whitney entered the room Alfred was in, seeing him still unconcious.

He had a nice face.

It would do nicely.

He made sure the cameras were ready.

He uploaded the link.

Now to wait for him to wake up.

Heck you

Maybe it was the the cool seawater that drenched over the young man's body like a impossibly heavy, liquid shroud. Maybe it was the soft wind as it rustled the palm fronds in which it blew across as gentle as an angles kiss. Whatever it was Duško woke with a start. And a wretch. Water with the familiar tang of salt was heaved upwards until it spewed out of his mouth in a grotesque, but clear, stream. The Serbian then rolled onto his back, tears stinging his eyes as his chest rose and fell shakily. We're was he, anyway? He reached into the inside pocket of his now throughly soaked, charcoal-grey greatcoat, to find that two of his most precious possessions, his pistol and his lighter, were nowhere to be seen. But, out out of some sort of miraculous luck, the cap on the young man's head still held. As Duško finally got to his feet, he could hear the wet pops and crackles of his inactive joints, as they protested loudly after being woken up so rudely after their slumber.  Duško's teeth chattered, as the water had chilled him to the core, forcing the Serb to remove his soaked greatcoat. The forest ahead looked unwelcoming, calls of strange and forgien beasts cascaded from the shady treetops. Maybe it would be best to stay on the beach.

(I hope I'm not being rude, but aren't they sort of on an island in the middle of nowhere?  The business of kidnapping would be a bit slow most of the time, I'd imagine.  Also, considering the others aren't runnng to Al's rescue at the moment, isn't this tale getting just a tad grim?)

"You could be onto something, Arthur." Maria spoke up, having listened in on their conversation, her usually cheerful and bubbly gaze becoming sharper and more calculative as they looked up into the sky, silently pondering something within her mind. "But I have my doubts about your hypothesis." She added, biting her bottom lip as she averted her eyes to meet his. While his theory did make sense, something was not quite right. That man did not have an ounce of fear or unsureness in his eyes when he saw them, and that gave her a bad feeling.

(Alrighty, then... good to know, and I look forward to hearing more of the truth concerning Whitney!)

Arthur's eyes narrowed slightly; he never liked being told he was wrong.  But he drew in a breath, reminding himself that now was possibly the worst time to start squabbling.  He thought back to their encounters with Whitney, in particular, the one on the beach.  There had been five of them there then, and that seemed a lot to confront for somebody acting in solely defense.  And while he'd held them at gunpoint, he hadn't fired until Alfred had, so whatever the reason for his attempt to capture them, he'd presumably wanted them alive.

"Perhaps you have a point," he admitted, albeit a bit begrudgingly.  "Though if he wasn't trying to defend himself..."  He didn't finish the scentence, but there was a trace of fear in his voice.  They were already in peril as it was, and if Whitney was trying to harm them, not protect himself, there wouldn't even be a chance of reasoning with him.

Once the camp was finally well-lit, Feliciano's attention turned quickly towards the caves.  "M-Maybe we should get out of the open," he suggested.  Though night had fallen, the jungle was still alive, the steady hum of bugs and scurrying of small animals in the shrubbery making the Italian jump every now and then when something sounded just a bit too reminiscent of a footstp.  He edged towards the rocky overhang, gaze flickering over to it, where his still-unconscious brother lay as well.  He'd already been away from him for too long already, Feliciano thought, and it was past time he checked to make sure he wasn't getting worse.

Ellen watched italy quietly for a few seconds before walking over to him and placing a hand on his shoulder " Italy you should stay out in the open with rhe rest of the group " she saud calmly looking up at the overhang and taking her hand off his shoulder " ill keep watch of your brother tonight, get some rest for now you will need it"

"But isn't it safer in the caves?  And what if he wakes up?  Or - or what if he doesn't?"  Feliciano's ramblings continued as he moved closer to the cave, ducking under the overhang to sit beside Romeo.  "Lui è mio fratello... I can't just leave him."

His gaze lingered for a moment on the unconscious nation's injuries, and the thought that not waking for so many hours couldn't be good settled somewhere in the shadows of his mind, but he refused to let it claim the spotlight.  He wasn't going to really consider it.  Not yet, not while there was still hope.  Feliciano glanced up at Ellen, who wasn't far - they'd been talking just outside the cave - grateful for her kindness.  "Grazie, though.  Maybe we could stay with him together?"  At the moment, nothing seemed better than the company of a friend.

Ellen nodded and walked over picking up her jacket from the floor of the over hand and dusting it off. " It might get a little cold in here" Ellen said putting the jackey around Romeo and leaning agenst the wall looking out at the sky. She began to wonder why the attacker was going after everyone and why she was always too late to help or save anyone.

Ellen took a seat at the opening of the over hang to keep night watch on the camp and sorroundong areas.
