I Put A Spell On You

"Well...that does explain a lot." She said not sure what to make of everything. She shook her head." Just got used to the whole magical world thing the past three years not, i am learning it from the moon god." She muttered to herself."Well... At least what i am learning is not full of crap....Ok, now i know, nice to meet you again moon god Hillin. What now? "

Hillin gave a small smirk and he gave a small laugh, "Oh, it's nothing major. We're going to go and seek out a magical artifact out in the top of the mountains. The problem is that it's heavily guarded by barbarians and such. I'm sure that men weilding sticks will be of no challenge to a girl who can almost best a moon god."

"Barbarians? In this day and age? I thing they prefer the term natives." She asked curiously as she tried to relax and concentrate the task she was given. "I hope there are not guarding some mystical ancient evil that should really be locked away for ever."

"That would be amatter of perspective. To some, it would seem like that. to others, it is an ally. We are simply going to retrieve it." Hillin smiled, "Get packed, this will be a very lengthy venture."

"Ok, dont have much beyond my robes and staff/wand. Be back in five." She said going back to her chambers gathering one or two of the things before returning back to Hillin. She had a look in her face like trying to think of a way to say something." I like to make something clear, i will follow your lead of course i dont know enough to lead on my own. However i will not kill just for the retrieval of an artifact, i will incapacitate but that it. You may want to kill but i had my fill of blood for one life time."

"You'll understand one day, trust me." Hillin's eyes looked distant, almost as though he wasn't sure himself. His look was distant, as though he'd seen soemthing. It was gone in a moment, causing him to shake his head, "It's fine, anyways, we shall go." He pulled up a small cart with their supplies and had a mage start to pull it, "Let us go."

"Ok...."She managed to say slightly confused by what he meant."You are ok, boss."She asked when he looked on to something she hadnt seem. She shrugged before following him into the cart, she hook her head at the fact that another mage was pulling it."You know a horse is more traditional since it is usually faster but whatever, its your time." Few hours into the journey the came about a village on the side of a a tall mountain. "How quaint."

"Pity." She said at the order to avoid the village all together, the idea of interacting with no mage, no evil or secrets sounded really good but what can she do. She stepped off when the cart stop looking nature around it breathing actual fresh air and greenery. There was energy in nature, she literally felt like she could absorb as magic... Maybe she actually could, people always said there was magic in nature. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, leaves rustled around her as she took the energy of nature.

She smirked. "Cant trust you two to teach me everything no can I? Or tell me everything." She replied. She disliked Hetrimer mainly because he seemed to dislike her and the secretive nature around him. She felt uncomfortable around him like she had taken or threatening to take the top job from him and she need to watch her back. She waved her hand a head of the dagger magically making it spin, small show of superior magic. "Shall we get going to get this "artifact" of yours, i thought this was urgent."

She crossed her arms, she smelled a bait to a trap and considered her answer." We dont see eye to eye on methods but three years of training one cant help respect the man or spirit. The only issue i might have is that i am not been put in could use or in a position of trust in your group."

"Good person? "She asked looking at Hetrimer to see what he is getting at. "From what i have seen so far no... Not really.... I have seen something that may explain why beyond being power mad. Though i havent seen enough to judge that judgement."

She looked at him trying to hide here surprise with unreadable look."We are not having this discussion." She said finally looking away. This was not since she was scared of repercussion of playing politics like this, she may disagree withe hillin at times but at least she knew him and were his goal lie. There is more than she could say about Hetrimer who she knew next to little about. She kept her hand close to her wand just in case trouble. "We have a job to do."

"You will not speak like that about Hillin!!" She growled at him her whole mood darkened, she saw red and raised her wand to his neck using telekinetic to strangle him. She didn't know why but he didn't want to be Hillin he was that cruel. "You will not speak lies for your treasonous plots!"

She looked back wide eyed as she realized what happened, no just because of Hetrimer counter attack but also the fact she tried to strangle Hetrimer. She was horrified, she never done anything like that in her life and she still did not understand why. She just stood there stunned before turning to Hillin. "I... Am... Sorry ... I just..."

Minerva seemed confused at first of the lack of discipline for her attack of her commander not even a telling off. It was strange, the littless thing was punished but not this. She tried to think of the reason as she did her job, setting up the camp through her magic which did the work quickly. One think she did know, she needed to take a more active approach on getting to know the secret going on here, she is been just the student for too long now.

Hillin sat upon a small rock and he sighed, looking over the cliff that lead to nothingness. He whispered, "Brother... if you're out there, forgive me for my crimes."

After finishing the campsite, Minerva went looking for Hillin wondering were he had gone off to. Using her own levitation spell to look for him, she was able to track him down near some rocks. "You 're ok, moon god?"She asked softly approaching him.

"Hmm?" Hillin turned, looking at her, "Firstly, you do not refer to me by that name. You know nothing on the incarnations of the spirits." Growling, he looked down. Yet in his eye was one single tear.

"I mean nothing offensive by it, its a nickname not a description. A sign of affe... Respect i used to do." She explaining as she sat next to him."Wow, a tear never thought i would see one from you. I need to look out for the new species of flying pigs....And bring ice skate to my soon to be arrival to hell for joking at you like this. Whats wrong?"

"You don't understand anything." He said, hissing out another word. Yet Hillin looked like... well an actual human now. HE was shedding tears and looking down, "Didn't you ever think that if there was a God of the Moon there would be a God of the Sun?"

"You would be surprised what i can understand if you let me."She suggested softly not really effected by his insults anyways." I figure it might be the case, i also read a bit of history in my time. it is common belief in old religion that the moon and and sun are somehow related familiarly, i assume this is the case for you."

"Well... yes, the sun was incarnated into my brother, Ronnak." He looked down, "Ronnak and Hillin were two young boys who learned of their destiny when they were young. Ronnak was faster at learning and figured out his skills before I had even come to grips with mine. Well... that didn't bode well with me."

"Over time, the people began to rally under Ronnak. He made a kingdom and made me my second in command. Yet.. yet the people barely knew me." His eyes adopted painful nostalgia. His hands gripped his staff tighter and he looked down at the ground.

"I see, living under your brother shadow... I get that."She said suddenly seeing him in a different light, more human less despicable monster." I know it not to the same scale but i had the prettier smarter older sister so i see were you coming from. What happened to your brother?"

"My kingdom was literally burned to the ground." Tears were starting to fall from his eyes, "My home was torn apart. Every one of my people suffered the fate of death. When I asked my brother for some assitance, he shunned me. He said that I left, and as such he no longer cared to help me."

Hillin stood up and wlaked over to the edge of hte cliff, staring up at the moon, "I went back to him and I started to become nervous. The people thought I was going to overthrow him. An assassin was placed against me. Soon everything was falling apart."

"So I started experimenting with black magic. Black, horrid magic. I was foolish at first, yet soon I started to become even more aware of the power. Oh, I could show them that I wasn't as weak and that I wanted to rule along side my brother!"

His voice dropped and he looked away at the distance, into an inky mirth that coated the land. He sighed, "Ronnak attempted to stop me. I let my emotions get control. I allowed the magic inside me to take control and... when I came back to.. I was standing over his body."

"But he wasn't there. There was his staff and his clothes, yet his body had vanished. I eventually came to terms that I'd killed him."

"Wow..."She mumbled to not sure what else to say. She didn't know what to make of the story, that he killed her brother was despicable whatever the reason but he spoke of it without regret it she could help feel a little pity. She placed a hand comfortingly on his shoulder. "If he is the spirit of the sun, wouldn't his death effect the sun is some way or am misunderstanding your connection to your celestial body?"
