I Put A Spell On You

"It'll be much easier to remove him if he's trying to take the power." He mused, thinking. Around him, the lights glowed brighter, "Hillin believes I am dead."

"I hope so."She said before having to look away when the light began to bright to see. "I am not sure he does, it think it is you he is looking for here if not something of yours."

"I revealed myself to his scouts and then ran. I wanted to see if he still cared." Ronnak looked down, "Before you say I've done nothing, it took me four years to purge the dark magic from my body, then longer still to go back up to full strength. If you are wondering why you haven't seen any bandits or tribes trying to kill you, thank you. That village you passed by is under my protection."

"Risky but i suppose necessary in hindsight and thanks for the help." She said appreciatively."Wont stay too long under your protection if Hillin gets what he want. I need to go back to face Hillin but i am not strong enough, i either need more power or something that will keep me useful to him not kill me outright."

"Well I'm coming with you." Ronnak stood up, "Do you trust me?" He asked, standing up. He looked like Hillin. It was easy to tell they were brothers. Almost twins. The only difference was he was more inviting and much better looking. He stared at her, "I need to know if you trust me."

"I...I do."She said worried that she might lose his help if she did not say she did. However in truth she felt like she could he was the spirit of the sun and once a famed leader after all. "Come on, the sooner we start the sooner this can be over with."

Groaning a little bit, Ronnak pulled on a small bit of armor and grabbed his staff. He spun it around and smiled, "I think we can do it." He looked at her, "You know Hillin. What is his weaknesses? I'm sure it's changed in all of thirty years."

"Of course we can."She said smiling back and giving him a wink and thought about his question as she prepared her wand. "Light magic, he uses dark magic mainly and of course that doesnt mesh well with light. Also..."She remembered there parting."Also anger, he becomes careless trying to show of his power but also makes him vulnerable to overcharging."

Ronnak smiled a small bit and he started to play around with his blades, "Hillin is still cocky, I see. The issue is he's been working on trying to conquer the overcharging for a long time..."

"You would think he would learn by know but hey his loss is our gain i guess."She said with a smirk before wiping the smile of herself as she walked to the outside of the temple." Lets not make the same mistakes shall we with or own cockiness." She stood out in the fresh air trying to gain some energy from nature.

Ronnak turned and he put a hand on her shoulder, "You are killing the plants." He said simply, trying to keep his emotions, whilst it sounded like he was being pained. He looked down, "You're hurting the plants."

"I do... I didnt know... "She said in a surprised instantly stopping the drain and turned to face Ronnak. The look he gave her made her feel more guilty. "I.... I just discovered the ability recently, sorry. I hope this is not a bit of Hillin rubbing of on me."

Ronnak looked down and poitned to a large tree. It was withered and was dropping down, now slowly turning black. He sighed, "Hillin never told you about it. Only draw the energy from nature if you absolutely have to."

Ronnak sadly shook his head, "Energy can be neither created nor destroyed... and you'd have to be a high level mage." He sighed, "The tree may regrow soon..."

"Oh, again sorry to you and the tree."She said frowning at the ill start of their partnership. "I will put the energy into good use, i promise, and i intend to make a start of it right now." She added determinately as she made her way down the mountain, trying to catch the trail of Hillins caravan.

Ronnak followed him, smiling a little as he began to slowly wlak down the trail. He lifted his staff and suddenly the ssnow storm stopped.

"Let me guess the whole storm was all you?"She asked as she looked up at the suddenly calm cloudy sky. "If so you gotta show how to do that."She smirked before turning neutral."I was wondering, how does... How are you spirits formed? Are you from a specific bloodline or some reincarnation of the original or have you always been?"

Ronnak gave a small chuckle, "Imagine spirts are like those people in a crowd who talk with one person, then jump to another random one in a millisecond." He smiled, "Well, spirits can incarnate themselves into whatever body they want, whenever they want. The sun and moon came down to earth around... I think roughly a thousand or so years ago. When one body dies, they instantly choose a mother and incarnate themselves agian." Ronnak stopped at the edge of a cliff, "But I am not what the spirit is truly like. The spirit lives inside me, but I am still Ronnak. If he left my body, all I'd lose were my powers."

"Wow... "She muttered unsure of what else to add."Never thought there was any such spirits, well, my experience of the world before i became a mage was a small village next to Highseal Forest. The only education i got was in lumberjacking."

Ronnak nodded, "Spirits move freely, incarnating at will. Hillin and I are special, as we embody two of the most powerful mages of all the land. The sun and the moon are some of the most grand, most powerful, most important spirits."

"Did you... Did you know from the start?"She asked as they continued to walk."Were there more humble beginning before setting of as big hero uniter of all know land."

"Oh, we learned around the time that I was thirteen... the spirits actually spoke to us." He sighed, "Everybody pushed me... they pushed us to be the uniters. I couldn't do all of it. Hillin started to use violence, I wanted diplomacy..."
