Colby Brook

Colby nods and walks into his room, tossing himself onto his bed. He sighed, he really hoped that Sam wouldn't flip out. Sam was an understanding person and he trusted him fully. Colby cared a lot about his best friend and his new one, a dragon. He sighs again.

Since there was nothing else to really do before Sam came to dinner, she tends to the dishes and makes sure that everything was cleaned up in the kitchen.

Colby Brook

Colby after a while, he took a shower and then awaited Sam’s arrival on the sofa. He held his phone in his hand with his earbuds in, vining to some music. He would lightly nod his head every little bit.

She had taken care of her bathing needs the night before and decided to spend her time in waiting for Sam's arrival by finding something decent to wear. However, given that she had only recently learned how to change to an anthropomorphic form and so could not really go out shopping for herself, nor had asked Colby to do so for her, she came to the conclusion that she was going to be better off in just being in her natural form. So, she hung the apron up as to keep it clean for the next time of using it and reverted to her quadrupedic shape before going to the living room, with nothing to really do but wait for Sam.

Colby Brook

Colby eyes her for a moment and then perks as he hears a knock at the door. Colby was in a complete daze with his head in the clouds-- he was a bit startled by the knock. "He's here," he murmurs to her. Colby looks at her and slowly gets to his feet.

It was a little nerve-wracking really, laying with only the television being on as background noise and waiting for time to pass. She tried to keep her mind off of knowing that she was going to be officially meeting Sam and not pretending to be a statue in front of him, but it was difficult.

There was a combination of relief and fear, to when the knock at the door comes, as she knew that Sam had arrived. Relief in not having to wait anymore and fear from knowing that one more human would know of her existence, one more that she would have to trust in keeping her a secret from others. "Yeah, I...I kind of figured it was him.", she softly replies before coming to stand to her paws with her heart starting to accelerate in its pace a bit. "I...I'll wait in the other room, don't want to startle him.", she moves quickly to the room she had been in before for his first visit.

Colby Brook

Colby watches her and lightly nods to her. He was uneasy about this... but it was for the best. Right?

Colby turned the doorknob and smiled as Sam stood there with his hands in his pants pockets. He was smiling, but some sadness and confusion were a little visible on Sam's face. "Come in," Colby says and holds the door open for his best friend.

Sam and Colby both sat down on the couch beside each other. Colby rubbed his hands together for a moment before breaking the silence, "there's something I've been meaning to tell you..." Colby licks his lips tentatively before continuing, "there's is someone I'd like you to meet..."

Colby slowly stood up and entered the room where Sargotha was. Colby dips his head to her and walks to the door again, looking back at her uneasily.

Sam sat there on the couch, staring at him.

She had sat down in the room as to wait for now, hiding in the far back corner from the entryway as to avoid being seen early on and thus perhaps frightening Sam into leaving without explanation. There is nothing but quiet breathing from her, though it is elevated a little from her nervousness and she mentally reminding herself that she trusted Colby but he needed his friends too.

As Colby comes to look into the doorway, after having announced indirectly that it was time for her to come out of hiding now, she takes a deep breath to calm herself a little. She looks to Colby with the same nervousness as he had before coming to stand on her paws and walking as softly as she can to avoid being heard early, "Are you really sure about this?" There is effort made to speak softly but with not much background noise being made as to cover her voice, she is certain that Sam heard her with the large space Colby's apartment provided.

Colby Brook

Colby lightly bites his lower lip for a few seconds in silence and he whispers back, "I'm sure... we've gotten this far... there's no going back now..." Colby takes a step out of the room, his heart pounding hard in his chest.

Sam had looked up at the unfamiliar voice to him but said nothing.

A small sigh comes from her as she knew that he was right and thus she slowly begins coming out of the room, only able to see the back of the couch...in turn the back of Sam's head. There is a temporary freeze in her moving forward, despite knowing that Sam was in the apartment and would be waiting somewhere to meet her...she just had not expected that 'soon' to see him.

The dragoness forces herself to continue forward and come around the front of the couch before coming face to face with the new human.

Colby Brook

Colby stood at the door and watches her go over to Sam-- his heart was pounding even harder now. He was really hoping that Sam wouldn't freak out about this...

Sam rubs his knees slightly and rose his head from looking at the floor. His eyes widened at what he saw-- a dragon?
Sam didn't budge. He just stared-- he looked frightened and in disbelief at first-- but then he had his mouth open in awe. "Hello," he says softly.

She was perhaps as surprised as Sam was upon seeing her, she had expected the human to run away or even scream...but, he did neither.

Instead, Sam did what she had not really expected of him...and that was to simply greet her, to which she responded with soft in return, "Um...hello, Sam.", there was definitely tension in the air before she somehow managed to introduce herself, "I'm...I'm Sargotha."

Sam

Sam had a slow smile creep onto his face and he chuckles lightly. "You're a dragon..." he says in a low tone. "I swore you were a statue the last time I was here..." Sam looked over her and looked over at Colby who began to walk over and he knelt down near her.

Sam smirked, "nice to meet you, Sargotha." Sam then looks at Colby, "I assume you were scared of how my reaction would be?"

Colby chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck.

As Sam expresses amusement to something and says that her 'illusion' had worked against him, she is unsure of how to feel about it. Part of her was glad that she had fooled the human upon his first visit and yet, another part was a little disappointed that he found something funny about it. Her focus turns toward Colby as he walks over to her and then kneels down to be closer, wondering to what he was thinking at the moment.

Sam's greeting in return to hers was one that makes her release a small sigh of relief in feeling that Colby would not feel so 'isolated' now that his closest friend knew about her. The human's question to why Colby had not invited him over earlier was answered by her speaking up, "It was more of because of me, I asked Colby to not have anyone over right away and I saw how much it was hurting him...", she looks to Colby, "...I did not feel right in keeping him away from his best friend, you were here before I was.", she looks back to Sam.

Colby Brook

Sam shifts his gaze to Colby, who was looking at him now, then Sam looks back at Sargotha. "Oh..." Sam spoke quietly.

Colby felt his heartbeat speed up from her words and felt some warmth creep onto his cheeks, then he looked away momentarily.

"That's sweet of you," Sam whispers to her.

It was clearly a surprise to Sam as to why his friend had not asked him to come over until now, making her feel better about telling Colby that it was okay to ask of Sam to come over.

She smiles a little more as Sam whispered to her and nods her head, "I didn't want him to be 'alone' anymore."

Sam

Sam smiles at her and then glances at Colby, who now was looking away. He was obviously flustered.

“I’m glad you told me about her,” Sam says to Colby.

Colby nods, “I had too.”

As Sam looks to Colby, she turns her head to see him blushing quite hard and her head tilts in response as to wonder why he was...had she embarrassed him somehow?

Sam's casual mention of Colby having talked about her already makes her wonder if they had been texting with her not around, or did Sam mean as in meeting her?

A sense of 'awkwardness' comes to be felt by her and since Sam had been invited for dinner, she decides to lead them both to that point. She turns her head to look at Colby before asking, "So...what are we having for dinner anyway?"

Colby Brook

Colby gasps at her voice and seems to return to reality. His head was definitely in the clouds a moment ago. “I-I was thinking spaghetti,” he says and slowly gets to his feet.

“That sounds good, actually,” Sam says softly.

Colby's reaction to her speaking makes her wonder of what had been on his mind, to make him so unfocused as to having Sam here. She was starting to believe that Colby felt more for Sam than mere friendship but had not come out with it and while she wanted to ask him about it, she did not know if Sam was feeling the same way. Plus, it was not her place to interfere with their relationship like that though she would not hesitate to help the two, if she could somehow.

The suggestion for the dinner meal sounded good to her and she decides to add to the menu, "Do we have meatballs that we can put in with it?", she loved having the spicy meat mixing in with the coated noodles. Of course, having hamburger to mix in would be fine too but the meatballs just felt more 'right' somehow and garlic bread was a 'must-have', so she was certain that they had some in the freezer.

Colby Brook

Colby winces a bit and looks unsteadily at Sargotha, “yeah. I’ll make it.” He licks his lips tentatively, “you two can just chat. I’ll take care of dinner.”

“How thoughtful of you,” Sam says with a smirk. He watches Colby go into the kitchen then looking to Sargotha. He then whispers to her, “I’ve known him for so long and I’ve never seen him act like that…”

As Colby states that he would prepare dinner, she can't help but to notice that he was acting differently with Sam being here and her head tilts slightly in response. She was a little concerned about him now and is about to offer in helping him prepare dinner, to when Sam also notices how differently Colby was being. The dragoness looks over to Sam before whispering in return, "Are you sure you two are just friends?", based on television shows and movies that she had watched, the way Colby was acting lined up with having a love interest but had not spoken of it.

Sam

Sam blinks in surprise at her question and he chuckles slightly, "of course. I and him are just friends." Sam bites his lower lip before whispering, "are you sure you and he are just friends, eh?"

She stares at Sam for a couple of moments in silence with confusion expressed in her face, "He acts differently around you though, compared to what I'm used to seeing.", she states with confidence.

His question is responded by her head tilting in puzzlement before responding, "I'm pretty sure that we're just friends, he hasn't acted any differently around me...until you came along.", she knew that humans could act strange when interested in mating with another but she had never figured he would want more than friendship from her. He was cute, for a human, but she hardly knew him well enough to give more thought than to being his friend.

Sam

Sam chuckles quietly and lightly bit his thumb in thought, "I've never seen him act like this either." Sam blinks and continues, "but... I did see him act like it once in high school... around this one girl he liked..."
