As Sam explains that her caretaker and guide to the world was acting differently than what Sam knew to be normal, and the circumstances were around another girl, she now begins to wonder if what Sam had asked was true. She gives more thought about the question and thinks back to how the past month's interactions with Colby had been, he was always a bit nervous around her or shy even. He was seemingly even 'embarrassed' by seeing her naked in the anthropomorphic form and he was always asking if she needed anything before going to bed, he took care to make sure she was satisfied with every meal.

She had been thinking about him as well, enjoying his voice as he practiced his music and didn't mind staying at home even if there wasn't much she couldn't do. When he was gone out shopping for groceries or errands, she felt a small 'void' without him around and was always glad to see his return. Maybe, maybe Sam was on to something in how their arrangement was more than just friendship or Colby doing her a favor, "I, I never really gave it thought...do, do you really think, he 'likes' me like that?"

Sam

Sam gently scans her face as he awaits her response. His hands were gently braced over his knees, he lifts one hand and pushes up his glasses. "I guess you'll find that out eventually if he does like you like that." Sam smirks with a chuckle, "Colby is hard to read most of the time..."

She is left feeling unsure of how to respond to this development and can't help but to further wonder if Sam's words had truth to them. They were entirely different species, surely they couldn't make a lasting bond beyond an agreement of living arrangements...could they? It dawns on her that Colby has been fairly quiet while preparing dinner and she decides to change the topic of conversation for now, "Hey Colby, are you alright in there?"

Sam

Colby lightly gasped and looks over at them with a nod-- his cheeks lightly pink. "Y-yeah. All is good in here."

Sam noticed and smirks at her. "I knew it..."

She is relieved to hear that Colby was fine in the kitchen without help, "Alright, if you say so."

Her head turns back to looking at Sam as he speaks and the smirk is on his lips, "You...seem pretty sure about what you said.", perhaps this was a conversation topic that should be brought up to when the two were alone.

Sam

Sam slowly nods and gently cracks his knuckles. "You should talk to him about it... or if he says anything. You know?" Sam glances at her and blinks lightly.

"Maybe...maybe later.", she softly responds before deciding to get up from the floor and go into the kitchen to see if Colby needed help with anything, "How soon until dinner, we're famished.", a bit of a tease was in her voice.

Colby Brook

Sam nods and watches her as she goes into the kitchen, him pulling out his phone while waiting.

Colby looks over at her and lightly grins, "it'll be done when it's done." Colby teased back but shook his head, "it will be done soon."

The dragoness teasingly huffs in response before coming up to his side as to peak at how far along dinner is to being cooked for them, "How soon?", she asked in bumping him lightly at the hip.

Colby Brook

Colby bites his lower lip a bit hard and looks away from her; attempting to hide his red face. "Maybe ten minutes or so..." he mutters.

Colby's response to the teasing hip bump makes her start to think that Sam was right and it prompts her to curl her tail around the human's face, pushing lightly to have him look at her. "Colby?", she paused as now she was not so confident in even thinking of the possibility herself but makes herself push on because it was unlikely that Colby would ask first, "Do...do you...'like' me...like...more, than a friend?"

Colby Brook

Colby stares at her with wide eyes and was quiet for a long moment, "hmm?" Colby sighs and speaks quietly, "can we talk about this later? This isn't the best time..."

Colby's reaction gave further inclination to the possibility that he felt more than friendship with her and while there is temptation to press further, he had asked for them to talk later. The human had not asked for much during her time of staying with him and so she decided that she would simply wait for Sam to leave, presuming that is what Colby meant, before bringing the subject up again. "Alright, sometime we need to talk about this before bed.", no specific time had been given but she had giving him a 'guide' of when their conversation needed to happen.

Colby Brook

"Fine," he murmurs with a small nod. He had an uneasy expression spread across his face and bit his lower lip before he finished making dinner.

As the spaghetti and meatballs come to be almost ready in being served for their evening meal, she heads to where the apron had been hung up.

In remembering Colby's 'embarrassment' to her shifting without thought in front of him, she turns her back and then makes the transformation from her normal self to that of the anthropomorphic version. She takes the apron from its hanger and wraps it over herself with a snug fit before tying the strings behind her lower back, smiling a bit with thought of their relationship possibly going further.

Honesty, it could seem that they were moving too fast as she'd only been with him for a month...but, dragons did not apply a 'time' to decisions before expressing their feelings. If a dragon was interested in a dragoness beyond being a companion or alliance, then they expressed this and the two involved decide from that point of where they stand with another. The same went for if the pair of mighty reptiles decided that their chosen possible mate was not a good fit to remain with and thus the two dragons split off or fight matters out.

Colby then sat down at the table with Sam and awaited for Sargotha to join them. Sam was looking at Colby with a weird grin on his face that made Colby almost choke on his food laughing. "This food is pretty good. You always used to tell me that you couldn't cook when we were roommates," Sam says.

"Yeah, I know. Let's just say I've been practicing more," Colby responds.

"Or is it because of your 'friend'?" Sam teases.

Colby coughs and continues to eat, ignoring the question.

As she came to the table and saw that she was the last one to be seated, she smiles before taking up the place she normally did. She does her best to make sure that the apron covers the basic parts but an apron was meant for stopping food from staining clothes, not truly covering a humanoid body for modesty. The sides of her plump breasts were visible with leaving little to the imagination, the pin-stripe curving around her figure instead of being a flat line. Most of her thighs were visible and really only her groin area was covered at the front due to the apron being short.

Sam's teasing to how Colby's cooking had improved since they were room-mates makes her head tilt in response before looking to Colby, "I couldn't imagine you not making such good food.", she smiles before adding, "But, I suppose I 'missed out' to when you were first learning."

She leans forward as to smell the steaming hot spaghetti and lets a low murr out to how the pasta sauce invited her to take a bite, the spiced meatballs making her mouth water in anticipation. "Mhh.", the garlic bread warmed and buttered to make it all the better for wiping up excess sauce, she picks up her fork before putting the pronged ends deep into the side of the noodles, "I can hardly wait."

Colby Brook

Colby smiles a bit at her and Sam catches the smile and he snorts a little.

"Oh, hush, Sam," Colby groaned.

Sam laughs and continues to eat his food. "My cooking was bad years ago," Colby spoke to her before taking a bite of his own.

"Oh, it was terrible," Sam said with another laugh.

"Shut up, Sam," Colby grumbled. "But I'm glad my food is better now and that you like it," he says to her.

She can't help but to giggle in response of how Sam teased Colby of how his cooking used to be worse than it was now and it made her glad that they had not met at that point in his cuisine skill. Although, who was to say of what would have happened between them then and to where she would be now? Maybe she would have left and sustained on her own somehow...maybe she would have stayed with him, she was younger at that point and mother seemed to do fine in bringing food for both of them.

Her fork is twirled around to take up some of the spaghetti noodles and the knife is taken into her other hand, so that she can cut a piece of her meatball off. The meatball piece is stuck onto the end of her fork's remaining prong part and then she brings it up to her mouth, blowing on it a little as to avoid burning her tongue. Carefully, she puts the food inside and closes her lips before pulling the fork backward, immediately met with the delicious combination of cooked though not overdone noodles and savory pasta sauce to coat it...with lastly a 'bite' of spiced meat to top it all off. "MRH!", her body relaxing against the chair as she let the flavors and textures 'melt' into her mouth for a few precious moments, eventually starting to chew it all up with a closed mouth.

Colby Brook

Colby glances at her with a light chuckle, "sounds like somebody really enjoys my cooking."

"I'm jealous!" Sam teases. "You get to live here with him and his cooking!"

Colby smirks and finishes his food, outstretching his arms out behind himself with a smile.

She smiles toward Colby with a nod of her head before resuming to eat her dinner, "What's not to enjoy?", smirking a little as she looks to Sam with his statement of being jealous, "You can always come over, just kind of call ahead so we have enough." The dinner is finished in a leisurely pace so she can thoroughly enjoy herself with the meal and by the time she has finished, a half hour has passed, the last of the food to be consumed is the garlic bread. Of course, she finishes making sure that everything went down by drinking a glass of cold water...finding she did not care much for the taste of milk.

Colby Brook

"Yeah, I know," Sam says with a small nod of his head.

Colby smiles at her as she finishes. "Glad you both enjoyed it."

"Haha, of course! It was great," Sam says with a quiet burp.

In due time, she finally finishes her meal and puts the dishes aside as to let her stomach begin digesting what she had taken in. She looks to Sam with a smile and nods her head a little, "Compliments to the cook.", she looks over to Colby as she says this.

Colby Brook

Colby chuckles lightly and Sam smiles in return to her.

"I'm glad you're satisfied," Colby smirks.

Sam then perks at the sound of his phone ringing, "oh, it's Jake. One sec."

Sam leaves the room and then comes back. "I... uh... have to go. Sorry," Sam says quickly.

"It's okay!" Colby reassures him.

She smiles to Colby before giving her enlarged stomach a rub with one hand, "Quite...I'm almost sad that I don't have room for dessert.", a small chuckle comes after saying this. Yes, there was plenty of sweet treats to be had if she wanted but then she would be uncomfortable and given the conversation that she needed to have with Colby after Sam left, there would likely be enough awkwardness without adding to it.

As Sam's phone takes its turn to ring and disrupt their little get-together, she hopes that it isn't anything terribly urgent but that was not to be had as Colby's friend returns with the announcement he has to leave. "Aww, that's too bad...but we understand, we should do this again some time.", she smiles as to offer an invitation for Sam to come again for a visit.
