At first, she had not understood to why he was handing her the apron as she hadn't been asked to cut anything for him as to get dirty with and she is about to ask him what he wanted her to do, to when it dawns on her that she is naked...in her anthro body.

"Oh...right, sorry.", she takes the apron and covers herself with it accordingly with a bit of a blush to her face, "I forget you humans wear clothing all the time."

Colby Brook

"It's okay. You'll get used to it, trust me," he says slowly. Colby then nods and spoke again, "I'll probably go and find some clothes for you. But for now, you can try and help me." Colby then gets the meat together and the seasoning out, "you can mix some of the seasoning and the meat together in a bowl." Colby puts the bowl on the counter near her.

She blushes a little as he assures her that in time, she'll grow used to wearing clothes while in her half-human form and just nods her head some. When he offers to find her clothing to wear, she shrugs her shoulders a little bit before responding, "I can just stay as my natural form too, use this one as needed.", she didn't want to make his life more difficult or have to spend more than he had to on her.

When he tells her of how she can help prepare their lunch, she takes hold of the bowl and waits for him to prepare the seasoning mixture. As he finishes making the mixture they needed, she throws it into a bowl and then takes a couple of handfuls of meat before starting to merge the spices with meat. "This is fun, almost like mashing up rabbit guts to make bait with.", she smiles pleased at the sensation in her hands and sways her tail in pleasure.

Colby Brook

Colby slowly nods and looks over how she mixes it together. Colby gives an approving nod before speaking after a few minutes, "I'll cook them now. I think that's all for now. I'll let you know if I need you for any more help." Colby then takes out a small griddle from one of the cabinets to cook the hamburgers for them.

She's happy to help Colby with cooking and nods her head as he says that she had helped to where it was possible, "Okay.", was her response in being told that he would ask for more help if need be.

The dragoness takes a seat nearby and is already imagining the warm burger being put on a crunchy bun, maybe with some cheese and pickles in-between. Oh, a thick tomato slice and onions to add even more goodness...of course, she couldn't forget the lettuce leaf to top it all off! As she gave the forthcoming lunch more thought, she kind of thought it funny that she'd never have seen herself eating vegetables before meeting Colby.

Colby Brook

Colby was humming while he was finished up and he had a look of content on his face. After a little bit, he had finished and put burgers on two separate plates for them both. "Finished," he says and sets the plates down at the table while he stretches his arms out behind him. Colby also was excited to eat the burgers and he smiles a bit.

The smell of cooking meat was always a pleasant one and this time was no different, making her stomach rumble in anticipation.

When their burgers are finished, she has no hesitation in adding all of the condiments as well as toppings that she likes with a low murr of eagerness to taste it all. Of course, she has some chips to go with her burger as to make it hold until dinner time and she had come to like the spicy flavoring that he had her try once. She admires her work for a few moments before picking up the thick sandwich and taking a large bite out of it, her eyes rolling up into her head slightly from how good it tasted, "MMHHH!"

Colby Brook

Colby smirks a bit at her as she enjoys her burger. Colby too added certain toppings, to perfection for his liking. He smiles before eating his own. "Good, huh?" he asks muffledly. He had a slight chuckle in his tone with a tint of pink on his cheeks.

She enjoys her burger tremendously and smiles to her companion widely with a nod of her head, not wanting to talk with her mouth full.

When her mouth is emptied out and she doesn't have to worry about choking or accidently spitting food, she smiles even more, "Very good...best burger I've had yet.", she takes another bite out of her lunch sandwich.

Colby Brook

Colby smirks a bit and he too was silent. He was enjoying his lunch quite well. "I'm glad you like it," he says as well. Colby eats more of his burger and takes off a small piece and gives it to Bud since he was being good.

Her head nods in approval and agreement of feeling the same before taking another bite of her burger, "Mhh!", the cooked meat with its spices was a very pleasant mixture. She wondered to what else Colby was good at cooking, he had already provided a variation to the ground up cow meat and even some tasty chicken dishes during the month she had been with him. There were also tasty pasta dishes that he had made and so far she found her favorite to be stuffed shells, especially when he paired it with a mixture of vegetables.

Colby Brook

Colby honestly was glad that she enjoyed his cooking. He never got to cook for anyone else-- well... except for Sam. Sam sometimes would come over before Colby met Sargotha, and Colby would cook for him. Colby slightly lost his smile at the thought of not being as close to his friend anymore. He hated it badly. Colby sighs as he finished his burger.

As Colby finished his burger and let a sigh out, she tilts her head in response before asking, "Is something wrong Colby?" She held onto her half-eaten lunch sandwich with worry that perhaps something was missing among the spices and neither had caught it, until perhaps himself now.

Colby Brook

"Sorry," he says faintly. "I just..." Colby rubs the back of his neck slightly with his right hand. Colby sighs again before speaking, "I want you to meet Sam."

The way that Colby seems to hesitate in speaking what is on his mind prompts her to believe that it is something that has been there since her arrival. She can't imagine the matter being something of romantic nature since she had not been here that long and from what she had observed of humans, that takes time to do and they generally gravitate towards their own kind. He had said that he was financially well off and could keep her as his room-mate without an issue, so that can't be it...what could it be?

She soon gets her answer and it comes with his desire of him wanting for her to meet his friend, the one that had thought she was a statue in her effort to hide from him. There is a mixture of feelings to be had in this moment, being afraid to meet someone new without knowing how they would react and a little sadness in her having 'kept' Colby away from his friend to protect her. The dragoness sets her burger down onto the plate with a bit of a frown on her face and then slowly looking back at him, worry showing as the expression. "Do...do you think, it's safe for him...to meet me?", not every human could be trusted to be okay with the reality of meeting a creature that was not supposed to exist and she had been very lucky that Colby was not only one of those that could, but had been willing to take her in.

Colby Brook

Colby's blue eyes look at her while he waits for a response. His pupils were quivering ever so slightly as he watched her. "Sam's different," he says softly and he licks around his lips tentatively. "He's really nice... I hate to say it but... he's a bit nicer than I am. I'm sure he won't flip out..." Colby's leg started to shake a bit and he taps his heel on the floor. "I just don't like how I and him aren't as close as we used to be..."

The dragoness is still unsure of allowing another human to know of her existence but she did not want to make Colby feel 'burdened' by her stay, not 'allowing' him his friends that had been built before her arrival. He had been so kind and generous, he'd not asked until now for his friend to come over for a visit...understanding her desire to not have more know about her than necessary. Sam was a trusted friend, as expressed by the statement that he was different than other humans and given that Colby knew him longer than herself...she must trust his judgement as to make her living with him easier on both.

Her head tilts at the response of the comment that Sam was even nicer than Colby - the very person that had given her shelter without question - she can't imagine such a thing, "I find that hard to believe...you have been the very nicest human I have ever met...even if you are the only one I have actually talked to." His leg shaking indicated nervousness to her response and likely fear she would decline his request, but maybe she could just stay out of sight like before or be his statue while Sam visited. Her eyes fall down to her burger, remaining half finished and now just not as tasty but not wanting to waste it, "If you're really sure he can be trusted...I can try meeting him.", her voice soft before looking back to Colby.

Colby Brook

Colby then appeared relieved at her response and his leg slowly coming to a halt with its shaking. "Trust me, he is nice. Caring-wise... he is more caring and nurturing than I am." Colby lightly fidgeted his fingers and he glances at his phone that is on the table beside him. "I can call him and tell him I need to tell him something..."

There is a little hesitation before biting into her burger again and proceeding with finishing the bite completely, her eyes looking to his face, "I'll give him a chance." She moves to take another bite of her sandwich to when he 'asks' to call Sam over already and she hadn't expected the 'request' right away, but reminds herself that Colby had been a month without seeing him...so it shouldn't have been that surprising. A little bit, she looks to the phone that is next to him and remembers how quickly Colby looked at it for different things or out of sheer boredom...only this time, it was in eagerness to have Sam come over, "He isn't going to take long to get here is he?"

Colby Brook

Colby blinks lightly and he glances at her, "he lives about fifteen minutes from here... so no." Colby taps his heel against the floor again. "I'm sorry-" he sighs, "I just really miss him?" Colby takes the phone in his hand and gives her an apologetic look in his eyes.

There is partial relief and a bit of worry as she is told that Sam does not live far from Colby, relief from knowing that he wasn't just down the hall and thus could show up unannounced and worry that there was not much distance for Sam to cover it seemed. Again, the human's heel begins tapping and she knows that he is nervous about something, making her consider to ask of Colby to spend time with Sam outside of the apartment. Having Colby see his companion outside of the apartment would let her feel safer and it would reduce the risk of Sam discovering her, at least until she was ready for him to anyway. However, she reminds herself that she did tell Colby she would be willing to meet him...so a compromise had to be made it seemed.

She looks to the human again before glancing to the clock, then back to Colby, "No...I disrupted your life...I should be the one to apologize.", she manages to get three-fourths of her burger gone before deciding on what to do. "Dinner would be okay, to have him come over for a little while.", it would give her time to prepare for his visit and try to hide away what she truly was...for as much as it were possible to.

Colby Brook

Colby looks down at his phone in his hands and he looks to her as she speaks again. "Dinner... that could work," he licks around his lip as he gets up. Colby leaves the room and speaks to Sam on the phone for a minute or two then returns. "He'll come around dinner time."

She had not expected the human to immediately go and call his companion to tell him to come over, she had thought he would give it thought first and then maybe later call. It is quite obvious to her that Colby more than missed his friend as a simple acquaintance, perhaps even more involved than the friendship he led on with. There had been no indications that Colby was interested in the same sex but maybe, maybe he was just really good at hiding it?

By the time that Colby returns, her burger is almost gone and she waits until her mouth is emptied before stating, "I didn't expect you to call him so soon.", her voice carrying a little worry in it. The dragoness finally finishes her lunch sandwich before wiping herself clean with a damp napkin and setting the dishes aside for now, "So...how are you going to break it to him that...well, you have a dragoness living with you?"

Colby Brook

Colby sighs a bit and he looks to her, "I'll just have to be honest with him. I need to tell him the whole truth and then introduce you both to each other." Colby flops down on the couch and rubs the back of his hand along his forehead, "I just wanted to call him and be sure he could come over later."

When Colby explains that he is just going to speak the whole truth of not only to who she was but of how they had met, she can't help but to feel uncertainty that Sam would take the news so well. Unfortunately, it is something that she must trust in Colby's judgement and he seemed to feel pretty confident that his friend would be just fine...so, it seemed that she shouldn't worry. As her caretaker says that he just had wanted to call Sam to make sure he would come later, she nods her head a bit, "Yeah...probably a good idea."
