Soul Bind: Ari can connect her soul with anyone else's. The boundaries of what they can do all depend on their trust and their relationship. Ari isn't sure what exactly she can do, as she's never been this close to anyone. But WE can know what she can do, because we're safely behind the fourth wall. With no limitations, those soul binded (EVERYONE soul binded):
1. Can communicate with telepathy
2. Can gain temporary control of another
3. Can swap bodies (this would probably be more annoying than anything)
4. Can feel each other's feelings (pain, tickly feeling, pleasure, whatever)
5. Clairvoyance (see what someone else sees)
6. Audio-voyance??? (hear what someone else hears)
7. Seriously just sharing senses

Some explaining:
When Ari controls Bob's hand, her own hand goes dead. When she controls his legs, her legs go dead. If Bob mentally resists, Ari won't be able to control him. If he doesn't (or if he's taken by surprise), she'll be able to control him.
Swapping bodies has to be COMPLETELY voluntary. Both parties have to be willing, and they cannot stop until they have completely swapped.
When Ari sees what Bob sees, she can't see through her own eyes.
When Ari hears what Bob hears, she can't hear through her own ears.
Ari can, however, feel through her own nerves and taste through her own tongue as well as through Bob's.
Combining abilities can be powers, strength, speed, etc etc...

I already listed most of them, but every ability takes some getting used to and using Soul Bind for too long causes exhaustion for all parties.
Basically you can stay Soul Binded, but it's best if you unbind at the end of the day.
The max amount of souls she can bind is four.
Josefina is the only one who can bind, but anyone can unbind. Unbinding requires a conscious decision to unbind. Only one party needs to do this. Or death. Death works.

She is friendly enough, keeping within normal standers of the word "friendly", though a bit of time seeing this cities worst has made her jokes crude and dirty normally. She likes to think of her self as more tactical in thinking, but in truth she is just paranoid and filled with the sort of need to deeply analyze that comes in working in this crime-ridden of a city as a police officer.
Regardless she is hard working, ready to dig in and rid this city of the abnormal threats that face it no matter the cost. She is deeply dedicated to the service believing that her work is righteous and needs to be done. Funnily enough, she doesn't like the Heros and thinks that the ones in the organization are just as bad as the independents. She can normally keep her opinions to her self and maintain the professionalism that is expected of an officer of the law, but if a hero catches her outside of uniform and in a bad mood she will give them a piece of her mind. Honestly outside of the uniform, she has a lot of options on a lot of people most of them beginning with the words "Numbnuts,".
Backstory {O}:
She was born in this city, saw it rise and be burnt down by the raging conflicts between heroes and villains multiple times. Honestly, she as a child hated them both equally, the heroes barged in and started breaking things immediately without thought of consequence, and the villains normally just seemed to like breaking things. It wasn't tell she was 9 that they discovered she had special abilities, this was due to them just not manifesting yet. Her abilties gave her father hope that she would be able to do better than the heroes of his time. Her father was a cop, He was the main reason she joined, he always said that the heroes were too disorganized to do any true good, she agrees.
She's too young to enforce it but she wants to make the heroes of tomorrow just another branch of the police force, make them adhere to the same rules and such. She believes with the right training and organization, the heroes of tomorrow will finally be able to do some long lasting good, not just beat the evil of the day with high bystander casualties.
Strengths:
Fit: Her weight is mostly due to muscle, she works out almost every day whether it's at the office or at a gym she has a membership at. Her power doesn't help her stay in shape so to effectively operate as an officer of the law she must work hard to keep in shape.

Tactical minded: She doesn't just barge in, she deals with things directly not stupidly, she will normally observe a situation for a little bit before barging in if she can.


Hard worker: She has been working since she was a child, martial arts and college didn't allow her much of a break. She was able to graduate early enough to get a degree in criminal law before becoming a cop due to her hard work. She won't give up, she won't quit, and she is unyielding in her pursuit of justice.

By the book: she does things by the book, no breaking in without a warrant, no unnecessary roughness, and all that.

Anger: She can be pissed off and when she does become pissed off its hard to stop her, she gets loud and if that doesn't work she gets physical. She can't help it, it's in her nature to deal with things directly and sometimes directly means forcefully.

Marked police car: The ford police interceptor, it shares an engine with a mustang and it built for durability and speed. The tinted window makes it hard to identify her from the outside and the reinforcement of the entire vehicle makes her harder to hit regardless. This car contains a radio, a flashlight charger, and lots of space to keep her equipment in reach, much to her liking.

FN 2000: The higher budget police force can afford the more modern Bullpup assault rifle, it shoots a 5.56x45mm NATO round meaning it can tear through most normally worn armor without much of a problem including plate carriers on top of kevlar.

yea I'll admit to it this has become more of the main profile and since I really haven't done anything with the gender on this profile I am more comfy with doing both. It's an awkward thing, and After all the discussion on the first person, I decided it was more of a bother than it was worth so I might no use him at all.

I think a better description of the power would be "Moral Empowerment" which can increase speed, durability, strength, and endurance when on the moral side of things. Will that change work? It might not extend to equipment though.

How they came to be part of that faction:



After discovering his abilities at a psych ward, the Government attempted to control and monitor Johnathan by providing him a "comfortable" life in a highly secure facility. He was forbidden from practicing his ability and developing it. This cemented his resentment toward government and "law and order"



Powers:


-Nightmare: Johnathan can temporarily afflict a target with what he sees in his world of schizophrenia. It is severe enough to cause even the most resilient mind to break.

-Shadowy Aberration: Johnathan can pull his horrifying visions from his illness into reality for all to see. These creatures are then controlled by the will of Johnathan's mind. Johnathan can control several at a time.


-Schizophrenia: An illness or a strength? In Johnathan's case, it is a great strength. His Shadowy Aberrations have a selection of random abilities. Some of his Aberrations, however, are regulars to Johnathan and creatures he can rely on.

For example: The vision known only as "Three" has the ability to fly and can extract Johnathan from a dangerous scenario.

"Twelve-Eleven" is a pair of horrifying screeching banshees that warp from position to position with long claws to impale foes in a gruesome display of murder.

There are more, but these are the most notorious. Worse yet, these creatures are maintained in the physical world by Johnathan's focus. The only way to defeat the Aberrations, is to kill Johnathan or to break his focus.

Skills:

-Sharpshooter: Not a "Super" ability but a dangerous one nonetheless. Johnathan is a crack shot with an assault rifle and handgun. Historically has relied on his Aberrations to conduct most of his nefarious acts, but will sometimes supplement them with rifle fire.

-Underground Gang: Johnathan controls a network of underground weapons traffickers. These thugs fear Johnathan and his abilities and therefore greatly respect him. His crime ring goes by no name that the Government is aware of. His weapons trafficking ring ranges from the common pistol to rocket propelled grenades (RPG's). He has an array of weapon smiths in his employment that create product. Recently, intelligence suggests the underground ring has acquired a chemical weapons expert and is dabbling in lethal chemicals. Through fear and coercion the ring has also infiltrated several legitimate businesses and use their resources to transport goods, making his criminal organization very difficult to track. Although Johnathan is wanted for Terrorism and Murder, his underground trafficking ring has placed him on the government's "Top 5 Most Wanted" list.


Weaknesses:

-Anger or any Overpowering Emotion: Johnathan must keep a level head at all times. Loss of control, such as rage, would result in an array of adverse effects. Such as his aberrations turning on him, losing complete touch with reality, fainting, or possibly death. His mind is like an internal time bomb waiting to kill him.

-Physical weakness: Johnathan is physically weaker than an average man. If a foe were to engage in hand to hand combat with Johnathan, Johnathan would lose.

-Schizophrenia: His strength is also his greatest weakness. Johnathan fears his own visions and will sometimes act according to their senseless will. Refusal to act on his visions demands results in the horrors growing progressively angrier with him, to the point of physically harming him. Appeasing his delusions often involved a gruesome murder and puts him at greater risk of being apprehended by authorities.

General:

Reports from his childhood psychiatrist reveal that Johnathan is an introvert, but crazy. Oddly enough, Johnathan was able to overcome schizophrenia and take control of his life AFTER discovering he could pull his visions into reality. As it turns out, the cure for schizophrenia is for the victim to know what he sees is real. It's only considered crazy if it doesn't exist. Johnathan enjoys what his delusions tell him he enjoys. Usually that means he enjoys death, destruction, and chaos.

Short term, we assess he seeks the destabilization of the government and the establishment of anarchy.



Biography




Johnathan grew up in the downtown district of the city, in one of the most crime-ridden areas. The only child of an absent mother and father. Early on, he was roped into driving for a drug ring. Within four months he was arrested by local police and sentenced to six months in juvenile detention. While there, he was subjected to physical abuse by stronger kids in front of prison guards that rarely cared. It was only until he was beaten to the point of losing blood that the prison guards would step in and stop it. After he was released, he returned home to a mother who had overdosed and a father that pretended nothing had happened. Johnathan’s psychiatrist reports that this is likely when his mental state began to deteriorate. Soon after being released, Johnathan returned to the drug ring. Johnathan was much more careful and was able to avoid the police, but the thugs he worked for began to notice Johnathan talking to things that they couldn’t see. He would also make wild remarks about mass murder that made them all uneasy. Finally, the thugs removed Johnathan out of their organization and he was forced to roam the streets, dealing with his mental condition alone.

During this time, Johnathan met the only cop. The only government official. That would ever show him kindness. As he was digging through trash looking for food, a young female police officer named Samantha Aldridge who was new to the force stopped her patrol vehicle and reached out and spoke Johnathan. The Officer recognized immediately that Johnathan wasn’t “all there” mentally and took great pity on him. She drove him to the most recognized mental institution in the State and even paid the large occupancy and medical fees required. She visited him regularly and eventually developed a “Mother-like” bond with him. The doctors immediately diagnosed Johnathan with extreme schizophrenia. Samantha’s heart would break as she witnessed Johnathan’s mental state deteriorate to the point he could no longer differentiate delusion from reality. He would speak to “Three” constantly and would say disturbing things that made even his psychiatrists uneasy. Still, even after doctors told her there was no hope, she would visit Johnathan. On a good day, Jonathan would recognize Samantha and they would even be able to have brief conversations. But on most days Johnathan was so lost in conversation with his visions that he couldn’t hear or recognize her.


One fateful day, however, the psych ward was on lockdown with every local police officer, including Samantha, responding to what 911 dispatchers referred to as a “bloodbath” at the psych ward. Dispatchers heard several frantic calls to 911 claiming that “monsters” were attacking the ward. SWAT teams arrived and breached the doors moving tactically throughout the hospital. It certainly was a bloodbath, with dismembered corpses littering the floors. Finally, the SWAT teams rounded a corner to find a lone man in a hospital gown standing in the middle of a hallway. Around him, were several freshly killed corpses. The SWAT team raised their weapons and ordered him on the ground.

“Don’t threaten Seven.” Johnathan said. These would be the last words those officers ever heard. Suddenly, a massive hulking shadow flickered to life in front of Johnathan and roared at the SWAT officers. They all opened fire, provoking “Seven” to stampede towards them and throw them through walls or crush them.


Outside, the local police officers encountered a horror of their own as two screeching banshees with long, razor sharp claws warped around slashing and impaling police officers that got too close. Conventional firearms were ineffective as Samantha and her squad tried desperately to kill the screaming horrors.


Suddenly, Samantha felt a blow to the back of her head as one of the banshees knocked her down. She gazed up in horror at the banshee as it brought up its claws to impale Samantha into the concrete. To her shock, the Banshee paused. “We should spare her.” It screeched.

“No!” the other Banshee screeched, warping to Samantha and grasping her skull in its massive claw. “She is a demon! Her crushed brains will make us happy! Don’t anger us!”

“We can spare her once!”

“Only once!”

The Banshee released Samantha and continued slaughtering the other officers until there were none left. Then, the banshees simply vanished.

Time passed and Johnathan developed his abilities to become the menace he is today. Samantha, now a seasoned veteran at the Bureau, has made it her life mission to track down and eliminate Johnathan. The monster she helped create.




Halloween



Halloween is the one night that Johnathan has promised the public no one would be killed, and he has kept his word for the past 5 years. On Halloween night, Johnathan's horrifying visions can be seen spontaneously throughout the City, scaring locals. To our shock, locals seem to actually appreciate Johnathan on Halloween night. On this night, His visions serve only to frighten but never harm. He has even established a cult-like fan base because of this.

After discovering his abilities at a psych ward, the Government attempted to control and monitor Johnathan by providing him a "comfortable" life in a highly secure facility. He was forbidden from practicing his ability and developing it. This cemented his resentment toward government and "law and order"



Abilities:


-Nightmare: Johnathan can temporarily afflict a target with what he sees in his world of schizophrenia. It is severe enough to cause even the most resilient mind to break.

-Shadowy Aberration: Johnathan can pull his horrifying visions from his illness into reality for all to see. These creatures are then controlled by the will of Johnathan's mind. Johnathan can control several at a time.


-Schizophrenia: An illness or a strength? In Johnathan's case, it is a great strength. His Shadowy Aberrations have a selection of random abilities. Some of his Aberrations, however, are regulars to Johnathan and creatures he can rely on.

For example: The vision known only as "Three" has the ability to fly and can extract Johnathan from a dangerous scenario.

There are more, but these are the most notorious. Worse yet, these creatures are maintained in the physical world by Johnathan's focus. The only way to defeat the Aberrations, is to kill Johnathan or to break his focus.

-Sharpshooter: Not a "Super" ability but a dangerous one nonetheless. Johnathan is a crack shot with an assault rifle and handgun. Historically has relied on his Aberrations to conduct most of his nefarious acts, but will sometimes supplement them with rifle fire.

-Underground Gang: Johnathan controls a network of underground weapons traffickers. These thugs fear Johnathan and his abilities and therefore greatly respect him. His crime ring goes by no name that the Government is aware of. His weapons trafficking ring ranges from the common pistol to rocket propelled grenades (RPG's). He has an array of weapon smiths in his employment that create product. Recently, intelligence suggests the underground ring has acquired a chemical weapons expert and is dabbling in lethal chemicals. Through fear and coercion the ring has also infiltrated several legitimate businesses and use their resources to transport goods, making his criminal organization very difficult to track. Although Johnathan is wanted for Terrorism and Murder, his underground trafficking ring has placed him on the government's "Top 5 Most Wanted" list.

Weaknesses:
-Anger or any Overpowering Emotion: Johnathan must keep a level head at all times. Loss of control, such as rage, would result in an array of adverse effects. Such as his aberrations turning on him, losing complete touch with reality, fainting, or possibly death. His mind is like an internal time bomb waiting to kill him.

-Physical weakness: Johnathan is physically weaker than an average man. If a foe were to engage in hand to hand combat with Johnathan, Johnathan would lose.

-Schizophrenia: His strength is also his greatest weakness. Johnathan fears his own visions and will sometimes act according to their senseless will. Refusal to act on his visions demands results in the horrors growing progressively angrier with him, to the point of physically harming him. Appeasing his delusions often involved a gruesome murder and puts him at greater risk of being apprehended by authorities.

Reports from his childhood psychiatrist reveal that Johnathan is an introvert, but crazy. Oddly enough, Johnathan was able to overcome schizophrenia and take control of his life AFTER discovering he could pull his visions into reality. As it turns out, the cure for schizophrenia is for the victim to know what he sees is real. It's only considered crazy if it doesn't exist. Johnathan enjoys what his delusions tell him he enjoys. Usually that means he enjoys death, destruction, and chaos.

Ectoplasm Synthesis- His adrenal glands have been given the extra function of synthesising ectoplasm to secrete into his blood flow. Ectoplasm is what ghosts are supposedly made of, and having a synthesised form in his blood allows him to use abilities commonly attributed to ghosts as his sub-powers. Heavy use of his sub-powers results in more synthesised ectoplasm entering his blood, with high amounts causing his veins and eyes to glow blue. He doesn't actually know that the thing causing his powers is ectoplasm considering the fact that he doesn't even know ectoplasm is a thing let alone what it's properties are. Even if he knew what regular ectoplasm produces by ghosts looked like, it would still look different to his form of it since it's synthesised by a living body.
He can move around objects with his mind. The power is developed like a muscle, becoming more effective through practice.
He enters a state where electromagnetic waves, including visible light, do not interact with him which makes him invisible. This also means that he cannot be seen by other electromagnetic waves like Infra-red or X-rays.

Catalysts {O}: Glucose, intense emotional fluxes, adrenaline rushes

Blockages {O}: Fatigue, high pain, lack of self-confidence, hopelessness

Limits:
-He can't produce infinite amounts of ectoplasm. Much like how you need to drink water in order to keep sweating and avoid dehydration, he needs to consume high-energy substances like redbull or very sugary candy to help him produce excess amounts of ectoplasm when needed.

-Using telekinesis against objects that are too heavy can result in damage to himself, which extreme cases leading to bone fractures and internal bleeding.

-Invisibility can only last for 10 minutes at a time, with a 5 minute cooldown time

-Invisibility can be countered with Ultra-sound and Sonar systems

I would even let wind manipulation slide as a ghost but I really don't think ghosts are telekinetic. If you want a telekinetic character you'll have to make them a psychic or an esper. Also, I get invisibility but how does telekinesis tie into ectoplasm?

Banjo is someone who loves the aspect of a Hero. His motto is: "If one way doesn't work then try something else." He is quite optimistic as he tries to also get others to see through the more positive things in life. Respect is given where it is due though sometimes his inner feelings prove otherwise depending on the person. He can be quite adventerous as well as curious, especially with his powers. While he is still young and has much to learn, Banjo keeps on going with an open mind.

Backstory {O}:
As a child, Banjo grew up on the streets living in an orphanage. He was the sort of person to not have many friends and as a result tries his best to meet expectations in order to make friends. His attempts had been meet with relatively small success. Though he didn't have many friends, he would enjoy their company. Often he would go exploring the streets as well as go climbing on building staircases and such. Banjo also developed a love for Heroes, often hearing about their exploits and how cool they were. His powers were discovered, at the age of 10, when he was trying to perform long-distance parkour. After that, Banjo would mainly use his powers for parkour. Through those uses he would find out more about his own power as well as it's weaknesses. Recently he would be heading out join the Heroes of Today as a new Hero.

Personality:
Banjo is someone who loves the aspect of a Hero. His motto is: "If one way doesn't work then try something else." He is quite optimistic as he tries to also get others to see through the more positive things in life. Respect is given where it is due though sometimes his inner feelings prove otherwise depending on the person. He can be quite adventerous as well as curious, especially with his powers. While he is still young and has much to learn, Banjo keeps on going with an open mind.

Backstory {O}:
As a child, Banjo grew up on the streets living in an orphanage. He was the sort of person to not have many friends and as a result tries his best to meet expectations in order to make friends. His attempts had been meet with relatively small success. Though he didn't have many friends, he would enjoy their company. Often he would go exploring the streets as well as go climbing on building staircases and such. Banjo also developed a love for Heroes, often hearing about their exploits and how cool they were. His powers were discovered, at the age of 10, when he was trying to perform long-distance parkour. After that, Banjo would mainly use his powers for parkour. Through those uses he would find out more about his own power as well as it's weaknesses. Recently he would be heading out join the Heroes of Today as a new Hero.

  • Creative: Banjo has always tried to think outside the box when it comes to problem solving. While it's not guaranteed to work, it's still better than nothing.

Weaknesses:
  • When things get way too heated and the battle becomes more rhan he can chew, Banjo starts to have a lack of focus as he tries to alleviate the situation.
  • He tries his best to meet expectations; it's not others but rather himself. The more mistakes and failures that follow, the less he will perform.
  • The boy is also quite competitive. Now being competitive is not always a bad thing but too much of it can cause lack of optimal performance. Banjo wants to meet his own expectations as well as perform well in the heat of a mission, so he goes on a more competitive mindset. This can lead to, at times, rather risky and dangerous plays that can be hazardous to him and/or his teammates.

Equipment:
  • A suit that has special fiber that creates a cooling effect for the body. This helps Banjo keep cool and reinforce his power with colder temperatures.
  • Twin durable sticks that are on par with Police Batons. Both have a sphere attached to each end.
  • A secret small container that contains small sugar pills intended for power use. Overdose not reccomended.
  • Specially-made padded gloves that allow Banjo's power to flow through. It is resistant to extreme temperatures and is durable.
  • Anything the Heroes of Today provide him with.
|| Superpowers ||
Powers:
Bubble-Gum: Banjo is able to create and manipulate pink gum-like substance and release it from his body. It is a smooth, sticky, malleable, and stretchy material that can stretch and break into small pieces. The substance is able to absorb physical blows but can be chopped, frozen and burned easily.
Catalysts {O}:

  • Sugar intake increases the amount of the gum substance Banjo can create.
  • Colder temperatures help reinforce the gum's strength.
Blockages {O}:
  • Loss of hydration within the body weakens production. Basically sweating counts.
Limits:
  • Over production of gum results in motion sickness.
  • Heat affects the gum's strength and stretchiness.

D duegxybus So what do I need to change? There is no catalyst for Schizophrenia, lol. He's mentally unstable, that's the idea. For a blockage I guess I could add in a medication that calms the effects of schizophrenia? His strength is his weakness. That was the idea.

catalysts and blockages are completely optional. But I'm just saying powers are separate from abilities. Abilities are skills.
