  • "And the same favor would be ask of the both of you as well."

Jack grinned, amusedly. He had not expected that. Nevertheless he plucked a hair from his head, "As long as you don't use it to create an evil clone."

As Natalie and Sartorious continued to talk, Jack listened, amused by their conversation. Then the girl had asked if they believed in predictions. Before Jack could answer, someone he recognized immediately as Charley, told them that they had to change into their robes. Jack looked out the window, "Wow! It seemed like time just flew by!"

As he started digging through his bag for his robe, he noticed that both Gwen and Natalie left the compartment.

Sighing in relief, smiled at Sartorious, "Fortunately, it seems we won't have to get caught in the mad rush of students to the bathroom or wait in line. You should hurry and change before the girls get back, though."

Jack began to change from his clothes into his robes, finishing a few minutes after.

    Arriving at Hogsmeade
Fortunately, Jack was one of the first ones off the train, having figured out a way to avoid all the students tryiong to exit. Once off, he waited for the rest of the members of his compartment to get off. While doing so, he looked over at the carriages. It being his 6th year, he knew that they were pulled by Thestrals and as such they drew his focus from reality to thinking about how his younger brother and sister were faring, causing him to noticeably zone out from reality.

SusannaSusanna looked up at the new boy at the door when he came in. She had been listening to Elodie and the others talk, enjoying Elodie's excited speech. She had never known people to talk so much until this train ride. Though she found it counter to her personality she enjoyed listening to the others thoroughly. When the boy came in she gave him a nice smile and introduced herself quietly before going quiet again. When Kliff mentioned putting on their robes she followed suit, feeling the twist of excitement snake in her stomach. She couldn't wait!

When the time came she followed the others out onto the platform and was soon overwhelmed by the amount of people and the hustle and bustle. Hearing first years being called Susanna attempted to stay with her new acquaintances. She accidentally bumped into Kliff where he was staring at the loading carriages. Murmuring an apology she gave him a curious look before tapping his shoulder.

"C'mon, we sh-should head over. Keep up with th-the others." She whispered so he could hear her, still looking at the carriages too. She wasn't surprised at the oddness of them, it was magic after all. She had grown up with it and didn't tend to think it strange. She was sure some of the other first years new to magic would thing them odd and from how Kliff and Clay talked she wasn't sure why he looked so weird.

Turning away from Kliff for a minute to look around for her brother Susanna eyed the carriages. She knew that was what the older kids were using to get to Hogwarts. She expected to see him board them. But through the crowds she couldn't pick him out and soon she and her new friends would be pushed along by the first year current. But she would let herself happily, excitement growing and making her smile.

Breaking the silence that seemed like years, when in reality was only a few minutes, Dylan leaped up and proceeded to say, "I don't know about you three, but I am going to go change." He opened the compartment door and walked to the fitting rooms. (I have no clue how this woks, so I'm just going to wing it) "Hello, I need first year robes, Extra Small," he said looking to the hangers filled with grey robes. She handed him the robes with a nod to the nearest empty room. He entered, changed, and exited the small, compact room. When he came back it seemed to grow darker than when he was walking towards there. Must be close, he thought. HE opened the compartment, tripped a little, and then put his bag of clothes into his bag. before he closed the bag, his mole rat jumped up to his face and squirmed. He forgot all about him. Dylan pressed him off of his face and sat normally sharing the empty stares with the other three, reaching over Iris to close the door. "Already too full, might as well not invite anyone else, eh?"

Lucinda sat up and looked out the window as the train arrived so she could see what was around but there wasn't really anything interesting about imagining Hoqwarts would be a little bit away from the station. Turning back around to face the compartment "I'm so nervous we're here already and before we know it we will be sorted. By the way Johanna I'm sorry again about the jelly beans. Both of you might like these instead." Just as Lucinda said the last bit she chucked a Chocolate Frog at Ripley and Johanna. "Be careful by the way Johanna Chocolate Frogs move," making sure to give Johanna a warning this time about the unusual wizard treat she was offering.

Standing just outside the doorway Lucinda was waiting for her friends to get ready, "Come on let's gooo!" Just in the before the end of her sentence Lucinda was carried away by the first year crowd pushing and shoving to get off the train. "Hey.. watch it.. stop pushing!" However Lucinda's small protest was unable to stop the crowd as the people behind her were also being pushed forward. Cool air rushed over her skin as she stumbled off the train still being pushed she looked around hearing someone call for all first years to gather round. Moving over to the gathering crowd Lucinda tried to keep an eye out for her friends. Lucinda was a bit scared at the size of the man/giant also remembering her families stories about them however Lucinda reminded herself how wrong her family was about muggles. Sneaking up behind him she looked up just trying to see how big he was making sure to stay behind him although he sounded friendly.

Rubeus Hagrid - Keeper of Keys and Grounds
qXTC5Be.jpg
Hagrid's big hairy face beamed over the sea of student heads bobbing along to their destinations. He scanned their faces, looking for the trademark incredulous look all first years had. "Firs' years! Firs' years over here!" he beckoned, his towering figure waving his lantern high into the air. He almost bumped into a small girl with two colors in her eyes and silver highlights. "Oh, er, sorry there, miss."

Hagrid turned back around slowly, as to not step on her small frame, and beckoned once more to the stream of students. "C'mon, follow me!" He gestured to a sweet looking, freckled girl who seemed a bit overwhelmed to follow him. "Any more firs' years? No? Mind yer step, now! Follow me, firs' years!"

A few of the students directly behind Hagrid slipped and stumbled as they followed him down a steep and narrow path. Thick trees on either side made it so dark, you could barely see your feet in front of you. It was quiet as students focused on their footing. Fumbling steps and cautious whispers the only sounds echoing in the dense forest trail.

"Yeh'll get yet firs' sight o' Hogwarts in a sec," Hagrid called over his shoulder, "jus' round this bend here."

latest

The treacherous path opened suddenly onto the edge of a great black lake. Perched atop a high mountain on the other side, its windows sparkling in the starry sky, was a vast castle with many turrets and towers. Hogwarts, in all its splendor, loomed over the lake. As they came around the corner, many students made various ooh and ahhh sounds. One girl even squealed.

"No more'n six to a boat!" Hagrid called, pointing to a fleet of little boats sitting in the water by the shore. He gestured for the students to get in the boats as they approached them.

"IT- EHH- IT Tasted like- I don't even know, I can only guess it was a mix of like- Raw beef? and dirt? Like-" She looked at Lucinda as she said that there was literally every possible flavour in that box and her arms went up in the air, "EVERYTHING? So you're telling me they have literally everything in that box? Like- Old shoes? and- and leather?" Her mind was boggled by the possibilities. "OR- Or like FLOWERS? ROSES? BIRDS, owls? CHICKEN!" She turned to look at Lucinda and said very excitedly, with her arms tucked into her sides, her eyes gleaming in wonder, "Do they have a chicken flavored jelly bean?"

Suddenly the train jerked to a stop and Joey was thrown off her balance a little, sending herself crashing into the wall. But no sooner had the train stopped then did people start fighting their way off the train. She was suddenly swept up in her nerves and excitement. It was happening! It was here!

She blinked as she was rather roughly pushed out of the train, and was swept off with the flow of kids, losing sight of all the kids she had been on the train with. She was swept along with the children, down a hill as instructed by Hagrid, the giant man who had guided her through Diagon Alley, and before she knew it, the castle was sprawled before her. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. THAT was Hogwarts? THAT was where she would be staying? Hooooly.... shite. And soon enough, she was plunked into a boat, just staring at the castle.

Milena Avery

tumblr_nwdoh3NcDs1srh1mgo5_250.gif

Milena stepped out of the compartment door with her cat in her right robe pocket and Brynn's hand in her left. "I knew we should have changed earlier," whined Milena. She and Brynn had chatted the ride away with their compartment mates and ignored the prefect boy's warning to change for far too long. They would have been alright when they did eventually change, except Milena took ages to make sure her hair was perfectly complemented by her robe and vice versa, whatever that meant.

"Now we might have missed the giant!" she exclaimed, trying to use her stature to see over the heads of other students but failing. Her brother had warned her to look for an imposingly large and boisterous man after she got off the express. She heard the voice of a loud man say "Any more firs' years? No?" Panicking, Milena pulled Brynn past an older student with tussles of red hair and rushed towards the voice. "We're first years!" she called out as the two girls finally joined the group. Hagrid looked back to smile and them and continued leading the students down the narrow path.

The view of Hogwarts as the students came around the bend was breathtaking. This was so exciting! She was surrounded by peers and potential friends. The beginning of her own Hogwarts journey. Elias had met all his best mates during his time at Hogwarts, and now it was her turn. Milena could hardly suppress a squeal coming from her mouth. Her cat, Esther, rustled in her pocket in response to the high pitched sound.

As they reached the boats, Milena hopped into the closest one and plopped down into the front of the boat. She beckoned for others to follow her, only because of her impatience in getting to the school.

  • Nishant followed the other first years towards down through the dark, feeling the earth slope downwards and guessed they were on a hill though it was hard to tell in the darkness with no real light to see by except for the light of the lantern that the huge man carried. He heard the man say that they would get their first glimpse of Hogwarts in a moment, and across the water he could see a huge building lit by...well he wasn't sure but there were lights that lit up the windows. Was this what having a home was supposed to feel like? He wasn't sure since he had been unwanted from birth by his understanding. The Indian boy shrugged and pulled his cloak tighter about him in hopes of dispelling the cold for a time, his teeth chattering in the cold as he stumbled his way downward. Soon the man said that they would have to get into boats and it was then that his eyes were taken from the castle across the water towards the boats bobbing at the shore. He stumbled into a boat, nearly falling into the water, but managed to catch himself in the darkness and looked to see a girl who was in the boat with him, another first year. explosiveKitten explosiveKitten

Smiling softly at hearing that both Jack and Satyr wouldn't mind taking a wager on who would become the winner of the Qudditch match, Natalie nodded, using this chance as a way to brush up on her divination. However, her eyes went towards Guinevere, "Would it be rude of me if I asked for a strand of your hair?" Natalie spoke politely and gently before turning her attention towards both Jack and Satyr, "And the same favor would be ask of the both of you as well." Hearing a slight "mew" from Apollo, Natalie turned towards him, eyeing him as Satyr seemed to paying him a lot of attention as the bloody cat seemed to love the spotlight. Shaking her head, Natalie sighed, "Satyr, why are you amusing the little one? It is obvious he loves the attention. Do not let him get a bigger ego than he does now." She said, slightly jabbing him, yet at the same time concern for her mangy feline as it was already hard for her to find him, much less, take care of him as he was such a picky feline.

But, it is but fate that brought me to this compartment, do you not believe that? I woke up this morning thinking of how my day would go, and by the stars, they have said 'an old meeting would adjourn combined with that of a new one'. So, here I am, I like to believe Apollo was merely my guide." She softly laughed, responding to Satyr's earlier musing of Apollo leading her into the compartment where he, Jack, and Guinevere were. Tilting her head to the side, Natalaie furrowed her brows, "A new place, Satyr? What of the old one?" She asked curiously before sighing, "It has been months since I was able to get a correct premonition! One moment I was chasing a wild goose chase and the next moment I was so close to catching what it was the tea leaves wanted me to know. But, it was faulty as the ones we have been on last year. Apollo on the other hand had an amazing summer, being fed the greatest most expensive food a feline could get." Natalie shook her head, waving off the disappointment before taking out one of her divination books.

Looking at Jack and Guinevere, Natalie sat upright once more, "Do you believe in predictions?" But, before another word could be said, a knock was on the door as the person announced them to change into their robes. Blinking, Natalie nodded politely, thanking him. With a small hum, Natalie smiled towards the three of them, "I believe that is my cue to get into uniform. Would you like to come with me, Guinevere? I know there is usually a line to change into robes, but I figure it would be nice to have someone to accompany even if the space is small?" Natalie asked softly, a little nervous but got up from her seat. "Oh, beware of the Nargles, they like to steal things." At that, Natalie made her way out the door, looking back to see if Guinevere was coming or not before heading down the aisle.

Guinevere Holmes

Gwen grinned at Jack. "My name? Oh, it's Holmes. Guinevere. Guinevere Holmes. Or, Gwen, if you like." Gwen thought she could hear a small snicker from Sartorious and gave him a sharp look to shut him up.

Hours later, a knock came at the compartment door. A second red headed boy poked in, mentioning something about changing into robes. Gwen made no mistake this time. It was Charlie Weasley, captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team. He smiled at Gwen in greeting which made her instantly tense up. With a nod, he left and slid the compartment door closed behind him.

Finally feeling like she could breathe, Gwen exhaled a sigh of relief. She shot Sartorious another knowing glare. "Don't," was all she warned, under her breath.

Natalie's offer to change robes with Gwen was unexpected. Gwen stared at her as she left, unused to the politeness the girl had for a member of her rival house. Quickly, Gwen reached up, grabbed her bag, and followed Natalie out the compartment door. They walked together to a small women's room at the end of the car. "So, uh, why did you want a strand of my hair?" she asked, in a slightly awkward attempt to stir up conversation.

Who knew the simplest and most innocent of behaviors could get Gwens attention. Seeing her shoot him a glance, Sartorious smiled with a chuckle. The two always had that sort of relationship filled with banter, snickering and Sartorious having glances shot toward him in warning. It was always a entertaining time whenever rivals got together. Least Sartorious thought so.

Meanwhile the Hufflepuff chaser turned his eye toward Natalie, pondering what she was up to now. Using hair from each for one of her premonitions? By now he was used to the divination practice and Natalie's visions... But hair was a new one, wasn't it? He plucked a hair and handed it over, seeing no reason to question it. Actually it could lead to some adventure if past experiences told of anything.

The boy smiled and turned his eye toward Natalie as she spoke. Cracking a grin and chuckle. " Oh come on Nat... It's not ego, it's cool confidence! Right Apollo?" Sartorious replied with a smile and petting Apollo. He always liked the cat and found his personality refreshing, fun and unique in Satyrs opinion. "Besides you know me, I can't help it... Animals and giving them attention is almost second nature to me. Apollo just happens to be a familiar favorite with Tuck." He went on and gave a nod.

"Oh I do, I do believe it Natalie. We've known each other too long for me not to believe it. But you have to admit it's like Apollo is your guide like you say, he's often leading the way. Right? So I'm not completely wrong. He's your... oh what is the word I'm looking for..... Augment? Yeah. The source of which..... no that's not the word. Close but not the singular word I was looking for..." Sartorious spoke looking to Gwen with a glance to see if she had another Jab before he continued. A smile crossing his face before he looked back toward Natalie. "Oh, Dad decided to sell it and move us somewhere private for my magic and flying practice. Well more so Ma with the magic since that bloody law about underage magic being used outside of school. Anyways we've moved closer to school and out into the countryside. Spent all summer practically working on,building up the old place with dad. Says it will be worth it. But got quidditch practice in too and tactics." He added with the last bit for Gwen and Jack. He didn't want to give the impression that he will be rusty come Quidditch season.

"Luck of the draw or vision, I suppose? I recall last years premonitions... Quite the fun and adventure! But still sounds like you've been busy too Nat. While apollo got quite the meals too!" Sartorious spoke in reply and began to listen between the four and continued to give Apollo attention.

Just then he noticed Charlie enter the compartment and grinned with a chuckle. He just knew how Gwen was going to act or was sure of it, he could just about picture the glance she would give him........ And there it was, just as charlie left and Gwen exhaled again, she shot him a glance and warned under her breath with a sharp 'Don't' to which Sartorious just shook his head and shrugged.. "What?!.... I wasn't even going to... yet." He responded with a corner grin that was small but playful.

As the girls left and Jack turned to speak to him. Sartorious looked at him and held his arms out so Jack could see. "I've come prepared this year, Mate! I decided to use my first few years as a learning experience and wore my robes and all to the station, see?" He replied with a grin and continued to give some attention to Apollo.

Before long the train had arrived and like the others, Sartorious got up and walked out of the compartment, down the halls and shuffling along outside and making his way for the carriages for the older students.

Tyrus gave nod and began to battle his nerves as the girl entered and sat down below the window. He offered a smile, observed her entry into the room, while trying to recall if he introduced himself or not? A reason absent to him he'd come to forget about the fact of having introduced or not introduce himself. A rather odd occurrence. "It's nothing troubled... I'm Tyrus, did I um.... Already say? Anyways... Uh'well nice to meet you Alannah. I'm not sure though, maybe Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff could fit me? I don't think I'd fit within the others....." Tyrus spoke in response trying to still battle his nerves before a new girl. While answering her question. Truthfully while he could be courageous his behavior around girls was quite poor, not very brave was it? While his temperament and character seemed to differ from what fit the Slytherin house.

"What about you, Alannah?" He asked in kind while looking toward her and hearing her next question and observation of the Berties every flavor beans. "Oh Yes! I got some for us awhile back when the trolley came by..." He perked up and chimed in for the answer. Giving a smile and keeping eye contact with everyone.

Meanwhile he watched Alannah play with her kitten and wand with sparks. Before long the prefect stopped by and informed them of the time to ready themselves by getting into their robes. Tyrus gave a nod and pulled out his wand, performing the shrinking spell on his guitar case and putting it away into his robes pocket, while using another spell 'Accio' to retrieve his robes where he then briefly left to change into his robes and perform the shrinking spell again to put away his previous clothes and leather jacket adding them with his guitar inside his pocket.

It was a few spells he learned from his Mum. In a few of the only spells she'd teach him, before he would start at Hogwarts. She didn't want him missing out on such experiences by being a know it all with spells and getting carried away by it.

While he sat in the compartment with the others, hearing the train stop at their destination, Tyrus stood up and looked to the others with him.
"Looks like this is it. kinda exciting huh?" He spoke starting to head off for the boats and seeing Hagrid, a giant of a man and the biggest he did ever seen before now, call to all first years. Causing Tyrus to respond by quietly following his instruction and getting into a boat.

Looking up at the towering man Lucinda almost didn't see his lantern moving around. Thankfully she only had to duck a little bit in order for it to miss her thinking to herself she should stop sneaking up on people. Lucinda loved how polite he was apologising for something that didn't happen and even if it did it would have been an accident. All she could think to do was to smile back at him. It wasn't long after that they began heading towards the school.

Soon they were traveling down a small steep path to were she didn't know, but Lucinda was loving it as it was just the right amount of creepy and scary. Having all the students around made the trek a lot less scary however she did have her feet trodden on a few times. Her feet were practically burning from wearing her new shoes and being stepped on. Coming round the corner of the path the castle came into view and it was absolutely breath taking in all its grandeur it was even more spectacular than she imagined.

However once everyone arrived she heard that they would be using boats to get there and her heart sunk with her stomach doing loops. Lucinda was worried about the boats as it looked easy for her to fall out plus they didn't look all that sturdy. Having to take a few deep breaths to get a handle on her emotions she reminded herself that Hogwarts was one of the safest places in England. Quickly boarding the boat that she thought looked the best wanting to get this over as quickly as she could. She felt so uncomfortable, scared and shaking in the boat.

After settling her nerves convincing herself the boat was safe Lucinda started feeling a bit better noticing more of the beauty around her. However what came as a shock to her was that someone was already in the boat. It was understandable she hadn't noticed the girl as Lucinda had been a bit preoccupied with her own fears. Shuffling up very slowly so as not to fall out Lucinda wanted a better look at who was in the boat plus other people needed to get in. Eventually Lucinda made it to the front sitting next to the girl she suddenly recognised, "Oh hello Milena I didn't realise it was you. Sorry you probably don't remember me but I'm Lucinda.. Lucinda Blackthorn we have met at a on few occasions well the few occasions I wasn't grounded for." Looking at Milena Lucinda wondered if this girl in front of her bought into all that pure-blood superiority or was she like her. Either way she would have to be careful what she said around Milena until she was sure.

SusannaSusanna smiled thoughtfully at Kliff, her eyebrows drawn together to form a wrinkle of curiosity in the middle of her forehead as she looked from him and back to the carriages. She had heard of them from Sidney but even her brother didn't seem to know how they moved. It was suspected that they were simply enchanted to move on their own, which wasn't at all hard to believe. So she didn't let Kliff's comment go through terrible scrutiny as if he was a magical child living in the midst of the wizard world which she got the impression he and his sister were, then having something like the mysterious transportations wasn't out of the question. So she simply gave him a bright smile and a confused glimmer at his laughter before pivoting to walk with him.

The crowd of young kids fresh off the train was thick, causing Susanna to pull her new robe around her. She muttered a few apologetic excuse me's to a few that she had the misfortune to bump into and she struggled to keep her eyes trained on Kliff. Weaving through the crowd and towards the calling of Hagrid Susanna never let the boy's fiery halo of hair out of sight, having incidentally fallen a few people back from him.

She managed to squeeze by a few excited first years though and was back by Kliff's side when they joined up with Clay and the others. She was just in time to hear the red headed girl joke about sea monsters and she gave a full grin as her eyes roved over the vast inky surface of the lake. Others were already climbing into the boats and she looked at Clay with a mischievous glint in her colorful eyes.

"I hear th-there's a squid that eats f-first years who don't stay inside the boats." She gave the other girl a compatriotic smile as she sat down she let her left hand trail along the side of the boat, dipping it into the cool water as she spoke. The other first years' excitement was contagious and Susanna looked around at the other three kids in their boat. She hoped that Elodie would stay with them, and the other boy that had joined them last minute. The train ride had been most enjoyable with them and she hoped they could stick together. Even better if they got sorted into the same houses. Not all of them of course but if a few of them did, then they'd have even more reason to be around each other.

SidneySidney had pulled on his robes when the prefects came through, his face filling with annoyance when he cuffed himself against the luggage rack getting to them. He bit back a curse and pulled the outfit over himself though, letting Fig get comfortable again.

After that he had eagerly awaited the arrival of Hogwarts out the window. He was sure the other were similarly expectant. When the train did stop Sidney had been sure to take the proper steps to be polite and had wished the girls good bye. He hadn't really acquainted himself with the first year girl but he reminded Evan of their little verbal sparring about quidditch and promised her an exciting game next time Hufflepuff and Slytherin played. He had also made sure to tell Ebenezer that he would make good on his end of the deal, still apprehensive about the whole thing but also knowing he would have to keep his word. And though he wouldn't admit it outright, the idea of learning sign language did appeal to him.

After these vague pleasantries, though sincere to Evan and slightly reluctant but no the less also to Ebenezer, Sidney stepped off the train, keeping one hand protectively around Fig where the rat was curled on his shoulder. The rodent was large enough to need both his hands to hold him, being a jumbo rat, and the weight was a comforting presence. The crowd was overwhelming and Sidney was jostled around, dodging younger and older students, skirting around first years frozen in awe and confusion. As the tall Slytherin got out of the thick of the crowd he looked around towards where the youngest were gathering. It wasn't hard to locate, the amicable bellows of the half giant who was making the children look like grass next to a cornstalk echoed through the night, carrying over the hum of the crowd.

As he approached the carriages that took the older students to Hogwarts Sidney tore himself away from the vain search. He knew it was hopeless to try and see his sister through all the people. So he reminded himself of this and abandoned the futile attempt, falling into a line that was gathering at the carriages. Fig nibbled on his ear in an affectionate manner and the boy let him in return following a cluster of his classmates onto the top deck of the transport. From there he could see the lake and the little boats bobbing on the water. He wondered with a rakish grin if Susanna remembered the stories he had told her of the giant squid. As the journey to Hogwarts started to end he grew more and more anxious about her sorting. Part of him was excited to know where she would be put. The other, worried about what it might bring. That side of him was largely selfish he scolded, trying to focus on the excitement rather than apprehension. As soon as she was sorted Sidney would send a letter back home and tell their parents the news and let them know that both their children had made it perfectly well and that Susanna had found her spot at Hogwarts. They had made him practically swear to do so but he hadn't needed the urging.

    ALANNAH GRAYSON

"Oh me? I hope to be in Gryffindor or Ravenclaw." She smiled at him and nodded as he asked about it being exciting "Yes very much so, isn't it beautiful?" She exclaimed as they came upon Hogwarts.
Alannah's eyes widened as they came up on Hogwarts it was all her brother had told her and more. To her surprise it was larger than she had imagined and she smiled softly as she walked over to a rather tall man who she believed to be Hagrid.
She had heard so many wonderful things about him and went running up to him but as she got there his voice shook her out of running and she stumbled almost falling before feeling a hand on her upper arm. She looked up to see who it was and saw her older brother, who winked at her and grinned.

"You Really should be careful don't want you getting hurt on your first night here." Nathan said to her before letting her go and to her dismay started to leave again.
"Nathan! Don't go! Please stay with me." Alannah said and looked at him.
"I can't, but I'll see you after the sorting ceremony, bye Alannah." He said and patted her head
After he left she notice one of the people she'd been sitting with on the train and walked over to him climbing into the boat after him not really liking the way that it wobbled but she sat down at the front of the boat,
"He rather tall isn't he?" She said softly

Elodie gasped at Leo's words. She tried to process the idea of not having a clue about Hogwart but Elodie just couldn't imagine it. The more she thought about it, the more her heart ached. Hogwarts was a part of her, even if this was her first year attending. Her papa always spoke about his adventures at Hogwarts so it was hard to imagine her life without knowing her father's stories and where he had gone to school. Magic made her who she is and without it, she felt like she would be rendered useless. It was a scary thought.

However, her thought drifted away when she heard Leo's excited voice and enthusiastic demeanor. Elodie's previous demeanor of sadness disappeared quickly and she was back to being bubbly and cheerful. She couldn't wait to take Leo under her wing and show him the world of magic. "Oh gosh!" She started as she shook her body from pure joy, "If you stick with us, there will be countless of things to explore and do! However. . . it may take a little rule-breaking, but a little mess won't hurt anyone! If papa was able to do it, so can I!" She enthused, trying to reassure Leo but also just enjoying the conversation. "I hope we do too! Oh! We're divided into houses! What's magical is that there's a sorting hat that will place us into our house! The hat will be placed on our heads and he'll decide on which houses- Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff- will best fit us! I am hoping to get into Gryffindor and I hope the same for you too! There's so much to learn! We have to take so many classes, but that's all a part of improving on our magic! Oh! And I believe you'll meet the ghost that live at Hogwarts too! I personally like hearing about the pranks that some of them pull on he students!" Elodie smiled widely, laughing, before shaking her head. "We're acquainted now and a friend has to help another friend, right? That's what friends do! At least, that's what I believe. He. . He."

Tilting her head to the side, Elodie couldn't help but flush slightly when Bagheera was complimented. The half kneazle, half serval had been perched on her lap, sleeping away. Giggling softly, Elodie nodded, "Bagheera thanks you, although, his attention is focused most of the time on sleeping. I'm not sure how he does it since maman calls me very rambunctious." However, soon, Elodie had heard that Clay had wished to be in Gryffindor as well and Elodie was more than pleased. "I do hope we get to be in Gryffindor together! It has been a lot of fun talking with you guys!" Elodie was just glad that Clay shared the same thought as her: sharing is caring.

Soon enough, Kliff had mentioned about getting into their robes. Feeling like such a dolt, Elodie laughed, nodding in agreement as she had almost forgotten. Slipping into her robe, Elodie was grateful for maman's advice on wearing her school shirt and skirt first. It made it much easier and less time consuming for Elodie as she practically wanted to continue talking to her companions. But, as quick as she felt the train ride was, Elodie gasped in surprise when they arrived at Hogsmeade Station. She could not contain her outpour of excitement that she practically almost fell over onto Leo when everyone was getting out of their compartment.

"I'm so sorry, Leo! I- - didn't- - ah. ." She quickly apologized, fumbling over her word and her mistake of bumping into her new friend. Biting her lip, Elodie quickly went out of the train, grateful for the fresh air. Patting her chest as she tried to calm herself down, Elodie looked over to where Susanna, Clay, and Kliff had gone of to. Her eyes widened at seeing the giant, Hagrid and that only made her squeal in excitement, almost forgetting about her incident earlier with Leo. Looking behind her, she had hoped Leo would have came with her as well. Deciding to call his name over the crowd, not sure if he would hear her or not, Elodie took a deep breathe and yelled, Leo! Let's take the boat together with everyone! I'll meet you there!"

Soon enough, Elodie turned around, trying to find the rest of her friends. Searching far and wide, Elodie finally found them as she grinned enthusiastically and quickly got into the boat. "You guys!" She panted, slightly tired from running around so much, "I'm here! Wait for me! I lost Leo in the crowd so if he comes, let's yell towards him!" Elodie exclaimed, taking her place inside the boat to hear Susanna and Clay's talk of squids and lake monster. "W-what? T-they eat us? I-i thought they were called eels. . that's so . . . exciting! I kinda. . want to meet them and those sea monsters! I have a knack for befriending them or at least that's what I want to think. Heehee."

As Natalie and Guinevere had gone into the women's room at the end of the car, Natalie effortlessly changed into her school attire and robe. She hadn't responded to Guinevere's musing at first, but that was only solely for the purpose so that she can keep her attention on Guinevere without the hassle of changing and talking at once. Once she was settled, Natalie had waited for Guinevere to change into her uniform, giving a soft smile. "I wanted to try something. Although using someone's hair is quite nice for a polyjuice potion, I promise it is not for that intent. I had read in other books, muggle books, to be exact, that if you take a personal item of someone, especially a strand of hair, you can have your fortune read. Usually, it is a hit or miss since not many believe in fortune tellers in the mundane world, but I beg to differ. It is a little exciting since I have full confidence if I take everyone's strand of hair that are needed, I believe I will be able to make out what the near future has in store." Natalie said confidently, though her tone of voice wasn't one that acted as if she had her nose stuck up in the air, it was one of pure curiosity and reasurance that she can and will be able to tell someone's future. Natalie had hated the thought of being looking down upon because her "theories" and "poor" diviniation skills were a joke. She wanted to prove to herself and to others that there's nothing funny about them at all. Natalie truly believed in them and even if it wasn't always correct, she knew, just knew this year could and will be different.

She hated being known as the Slytherin who "cries wolf". It isn't true, so to prove herself, why not a little game of predicting who'd win the qudditch matches this year. Usually she didn't care about the rumours, but after getting an earful from her aunt, Natalie couldn't handle it. "Would you mind helping a girl out? Regardless of houses? I hope you do not feel uncomfortable with me just because of something as petty as that? At the same time, would it not be interesting? To think that some non-magical folks, aside from those who come to Hogwarts with us, do have the ability to see the future? It would be a little funny to see most of the elitist run around like baffoons at the discovery." A little silence had filled the air as Natalie waited for Guinevere's answer, however, before Natalie could even get that answer from her rivaled house, the train stopped.

Looking outside, Natalie had heard the voice of none other than Hagrid. A genuine smile appeared on her face as she looked towards the first years. Their eyes were filled with curiosity but also genuine fear and excitement. "It was not that long since we were first years, but why does it feel like it?" She mused, mostly to herself before turning towards Guinevere, realizing she may had seemed to tensed or unlike herself while speaking to her. It had been a while since she suppressed such emotions and she hoped she didn't strain whatever relationship they had prior. "I. . apologize. I did not mean to hound you like that. If you refuse, I understand. However, if you are interested, that will help me a lot. Regardless, I believe we should head out to the carriages now. Can not keep everyone waiting, right?" At those words, Natalie headed out the cart and out the train.

Taking a deep breathe, Natalie sighed, forgetting how hard it was to converse with someone. She had been so used to talking to just Satyr that she didn't know how to speak to others. Natalie had always been an aloof person, never one to actually care, but for some odd reason, when it came to this, it mattered greatly. Turning around, she heard a mew by her feet. "Apollo, did you run away from Satyr?" However, picking him up, regardless of her messing up his coat, Natalie smiled. "Thank you for coming to my aid. Or rather, to become my guide as Satyr likes to call you." A small giggle escaped her lips as she sighed, tapping her messenger back as she had Satyr's lock of her and Jack's acceptance of allowing her his strand of hair too. She had remembered Satyr's words and responses to her question and she couldn't help but agree with him. It was true the non magical folks were getting too close to comfort in the wizarding world, but regardless, Natalie was curious as to what would happen, aside from the negative ideas of war.

But, deciding it was time to head towards the carriage, Natalie made her way there slightly laughing when Jack told her to not make a clone of him. She believed one person was enough to handle, having twos of one person sounded like a lot, just like the Weasley twins she heard about infamously. Once she found a carriage, Natalie looked towards the Thestrals. Thestrals could only be seen by people who have seen and accepted death, that she knew. However, how could she seem them? Furrowing her brows, Natalie decided not to think on it before turning towards the carriages. She saw Jack and Satyr, but didn't know if she should walk towards them. Would it make Guinevere uncomfortable if she was there? Natalie left before she could even get an answer from her. Sighing slightly, she looked at Apollo before looking at a carriage that held . . . Sidney and Fig. . was it? Tilting her head to the side, she headed towards them, "Do you mind if I ask to sit here? It seems the others are full."

SidneySidney had mounted the step to the carriage and ducked inside. He wasn't truly aware of anyone in the carriage with him, in fact he was the sort of indifference that made him unaware of whether or not anyone was in the cabin with him. And if they were he truly didn't care. His well earned reputation of being cold and aloof to all but a select few -Slytherin pure-bloods mostly according to most though it was more than largely true.

So Sidney and Fig sat in the carriage in their own thoughts as the noise of other students clamores in the air around them. He could feel the rocking of the carriage as whatever pulled them moved forward a bit. Sidney might have thought that meant they were on their way but seeing as no one else had yet entered the carriage after him and it certainly was full yet the boy knew it wasn't the case. So he sat with his hands around Fig and looked out the window.

He was startled when a blonde head emerged in the carriage. He shifted in his seat to cover the minute start he gave and to keep Fig in his lap were the jumpier of the two was ready to bolt. His eyes were wide, the only true indication of his moment of panic. He gave the girl a scoff and shrug.

"You could but that doesn't mean I'll say yes." He mused, obviously just wanting to lightheartedly instigate. He recognized his house mate. It was the odd "seer", Natalie. He didn't personally know her, but her goose chases and predictions were well known throughout Hogwarts. He personally didn't have much of an opinion of her. He knew of her blood status and the like but as far as anything more he wasn't privy. As he took the few heartbeats between their responses to think over these things Sidney tried to recall anything his small circle had said about her. And once again, habitually weighed whether or not knowing her would bring damage to his reputation. But, she was Slytherin among other relatively good things so he was a bit more relaxed than he had been with those he met on the train. As that realization hit Sidney thought of Evan and Ebenezer and couldn't help but think about the two of them. He was anxious to hear from the first year about that deal he had made. He couldn't help but think he might've made a deal with the devil. At least his reputation paranoid side of him felt that way. But the quieter, more Sidney true side was curious and eager. And as it was, he had always been slightly curious about seer abilities but divination was his least favorite subject, he thought it slightly ridiculous. Perhaps even more so after observing the ridiculousness of Natalie's chases. But the girl herself seemed interesting enough, if a little...eccentric to Sidney.

Fig fidgeting under his hands brought Sidney back to focus on Natalie. His hazel eyes shone momentarily with rarely shown humor. Even the lost and stiff Sidney Rosewarne was not immune to the magical excitement that the first day back to Hogwarts wrought. As he was observing the fellow Slytherin Sidney turned his gaze past Natalie to Michael. He didn't mind that they were there and could most certainly join the carriage, he wasn't stuck up or rude enough to turn them away. However, he was a bit put out by the fact that he had been surrounded by people he didn't know the entire time. He wanted the familiarity of his small circle of Slytherin mates. But he gave a wan smile and motioned to the two housemates. Maybe this was how it was supposed to be, as Susanna would say. She believed in greater things and he was sure his little sister would say he needed this.

Year four and the eve was yet to come. A long summer working on his new house with his father, while his mother corrected every error with a nice scold to read instructions and how to books.... While his mind only ever thought of one thing, why can't we just use magic? But that was over and now he was quietly sitting in the carriage looking to where the Thestral would be. He understood that one needed experience with death and seeing it before one could see a thestral. He was always curious as to why death was necessary especially when his family was considered cursed or atleast so they were told on down the generations since his ancestor on his mothers side in the Warbeck line was said to have interfered a great withces plot.

Couldn't a cursed line be enough? Being that he only ever heard about Thestrals and how they looked in real life, he was left curious and wanting to see one for himself. But Sartorious wasn't about to wish death just for a reason like him wanting to see one, he was always curious and enjoyed animals and different creatures. He wasn't a savant with them or knew expert details on every species, but he was good with animals or least that was the impression he had gotten over the years.

Didn't Natalie say she could see them? Maybe his memory was faulty but it seemed like last year she mentioned something about it.

Meanwhile though Sartorious imagined Apollo had found and returned to Natalie's side, so the fourth year Hufflepuff quietly sat upon the carriage and relaxed, eyes somewhat closed and posture as relaxed as it could be with nothing to really lean against without falling out onto his backside and head at some point. The boy listened to the various sounds of the nearing nightfall, voices carrying about the area as many awaited the arrival at hogwarts.

His mind filling joy as the time passed and thoughts of Hogwarts entered his mind. He loved this time of year because not only was it quidditch season again and here soon. But also meant he could learn spells again, use magic without foolish rules getting in the way, seeing some of his favorite Professors again. It meant so many things to him. He could get one step closer to the triwizard tournament, another year closer to graduating and deciding on becoming a professional quidditch chaser or become a Auror and fight the dark magic out there in the world like he always dreamed growing up as a adventurous child.

Hey even Herbology was sounding good to him and he never particularly like that class. He knew that perhaps he should after all it was his houses Professor that taught it. But it was so boring compared to defense against the dark arts, charms and transfiguration each providing new spells to learn. He even liked history because it spoke of past wizards and withces of legend in grand tale. Though it too could get boring as well....

Sartorious still couldn't explain how he was so good Herbology, it wasn't like he put that much effort into the class. But still he got unbelievable grades and was often approached by Professor Sprout about his "gift" for the class and subject. He had a knack for it all..... Maybe that would help his Auror future and his potions knowledge someday? Shrugging it off Sartorious just shook his head and smiled to himself, deciding he was getting ahead of himself and stuck in thought of topics that were not so epic in their telling or thought guided ways.

{have no time to put together code atm but here's a post for Evan. I'll put up one for Alice later probably for her sorting}

Evan clambered out of the compartment with the rest, throwing on her robes as she walked, near tripping over a stump as she did. Cursing herself for her now throbbing toe, she jogged up to one of the last carriages. Getting out had taken her longer than she'd expected and most of the carriages had left for the school. Popping her head into one, her short hair wild and hanging over her face on the left side, she spotted a familiar face.

"Sartorious," she greeted, plopping down across from him and raking her hair away from her face with a hurried hand," I wasn't sure I'd see you till quiddich try outs."

While she would consider the younger player a friend, they didn't have many of the same classes if any, and while she was not disliked by any of her classmates persay, Evan often focused her energy on quiddich over friendships. Sartorious wasn't usually one for gossiping with his classmates either she'd noticed. Letting out a last huff of a breath from her run to the carriage she relaxed with a smile.

The Silent Z The Silent Z

Sartorious had been sitting quietly and relaxed for the time being. It was rather quiet near the carriages with going unseen by him but knew they were there. While his thoughts moved from one to another as the wait for Hogwarts continued, figuring that not all students were off the train or yet upon any carriages or boats. It wasn't all that long ago when they had arrived at the station with Hagrid calling out for first years and students got the robes on.

Meanwhile as the guy sat quietly and comfortable as possible on the carriage. His eyes opened and glanced over while his ears perked up once noticed Evan appear and joining him in the carriage. She was his housemate and the captain of the Hufflepuff quidditch team plus not the first face he thought to have seen since getting on the carriage himself. Though she was a welcomed one.

"Evan? Yeah hey!" Sartorious replied in greeting and sitting up as his backside seemed to slide down when he tried sitting relaxed and in comfort while keeping upright. "Oh? Well it's a safe bet. Quidditch try outs are something I always look forward to every year. Means one step closer to the season." The boy continued with a small smile. "But I'm glad your here. In case we didn't see one another before then and, or miss each other in the common room or something. I've been wanting to speak with you actually....." Sartorious paused for a moment, a smile remained and eyes keeping contact with Evan.

He couldn't recall any classes with her or running into her too often during classes. Though he did like Evan, she was often about her quidditch and focused on that, giving something in common with him. While he spent plenty of time socializing, he wasn't much for gossiping about others. Leading to some time added to quidditch thoughts, talking and hanging out with Natalie when he could and going on little adventures when her premonitions came in.

"So how's it been for you over the summer? Any thoughts on tactics this year?" Sartorious asked genuinely curious and wanting to hear about her summer. Though his smile and mention of tactics were a obvious tell that he had reason for bringing it up. Sartorious had spent all summer working pretty much, with some practice time fitted in to stay in shape and ready for the season. But it also meant plenty of time to think over tactics since it was the only fun or semi fun thing he was allowed this summer. It didn't require him to stop his working on the new place, just needed his mind for thinking. Allowing him to multi task during the days he worked and practiced.

She smiled brightly at his question of quiddich strategies. Her sport always was a pleasure to talk about for the young witch, especially to someone almost if not just as passionate.

"Oh loads, though I'd have to see how the new team works together this year to really know which ones will actually work," she responded, chuckling lightly as she remembered the train wreck of a game her first year as captain had been last year; she'd goven the team a play strategy without actually paying any mind to if they could achieve it or not.

"And summer wise nothin' terrible happened so I'd call that a win. My older brothers came in for a week or two too," she continued," how was yours?"

The fourth year listened with a smile and ears perked for interest in what Evan had to say in response to his question. Giving a nod in going along with her pace of reply to show he was indeed listening. While glad to talk Quidditch and tactics for the sport, he never tired of it and often was sparked with energy filling his body whenever he spoke of the game. "Good to hear Captian." He grinned in playful call of her title and happy to hear he wasn't the only one thinking of tactics over the summer and offseason as he liked to call it. "Hopefully we can maintain our speed potential..." He about hinted in the way he spoke the words. "But what we have in replacing the players we lost with graduation, does play a key role. The first step that I see you've already recognized and pointed out." Sartorious spoke kindly not intending for his phrasing to offend or anything, actually the opposite was his intent.

"I've been thinking as well, if the others prove capable, we should try in my opinion a faster approach and full of tricky skill plays, passes of creative sorts and formations that are unique and throw off the opposition. One play I'd call 'Duck and chuck' a four sided cover formation, one above, one on each side and one below the quaffle holder who's at the center. We use speed and constant passing to each before splitting off last minute into various directions with a last second and quick pass to trick the defense and set up the goal." Sartorious grinned with excitement and passion as he explained and added some other ideas to offer Evan. Another such tactic was called 'Weave and cleave' and no Sartorious truly had no idea of why he kept nor had to rhyme each titled strategy/formation.

"Awesome Evan. Sounds like a good family reunion for you and your family." Sartorious replied with a genuine smile. "Mine? It was alright I guess. We moved closer to the school and to the country where more privacy can be had, moved into some old mansion out there and said to be haunted. I never saw any ghosts, but did plenty of work fixing it up with my dad and the non magical way. Sodded magic laws." Sartorious chuckled his hands still felt like a rough pair, but the lotion helped smooth them out for the season and make them less sore when practicing or handling his broom. "But it was alright. Hands are stronger after that experience. A bit rougher too. But got plenty of practice and tactics thought up in during the offseason."

"Bloody hell Warbeck! You sure 'Ill make a good captain in another year. Unless you're planning to run me out of a position," she joked light heartedly, though honestly in awe at how detailed Sartorious had planned out just one tactic.

"Great yes, but bloody loud I'll tell ya," she agreed, chuckling as she thought of her and all of her brothers in one house," You fixed up a whole house the muggle way? Merlin's beard, and I thought rough housing with all seven o'the idiots I grew up with was a workout! We're going to dominate this season I can feel it."

Even could never put a finger on why, but often when talking casually with someone she considered a friend her more harsh language would occur more often in her speech. She blamed it on her brothers.

As Natalie waited patiently for her housemate to give her a response to her question if she could or could not sit in the carriage with him, her eyes gazed upon him with interest. She had always been curious of her housemates, especially ones who were stuck to glue with the other Slytherin elitist. She never really cared for status, much less what she looked like to her supposed mates unless they mocked her of her divination skills. Although they were all housed together, or even in fact, of the same year, it didn't necessarily mean everyone naturally came together and agreed. Natalie was always told 'birds of a feather flocks together', in which this case, is surprisingly true to the male before her.

She hadn't tapped her shoes against the ground nor sighed in the presence of Sidney Rosewarne. It wasn't as if she had something to prove to him, but rather, she always kept a light and polite demeanor in front of those she didn't really know. But, then again, it was more so the air of 'grace' and 'poise' that surrounded Natalie Winchestor was due to the fact she was raised by her godmother who was always about image. Natalie honestly didn't know what it was about appearances that most people were so obsessive about. She always believed she could see the future events, but never in her life would she ever understand the ways of people and what they're thinking.

Nevertheless, people would always be truly a mystery to her, and that included Sidney. She had noted that she had taken Sidney for surprise when she had popped into the carriage suddenly. It took all the restraints in her to not laugh at the matter as she cleared her throat, trying to not think of how quick Sidney pulled himself together again. But, at his response to her question, Natalie quirked a curious brow before shaking her head, "That is true. I could sit in the carriage. However, I always find it more polite if I ask regardless if I get a yes or no. It makes other people feel heard and important. Everyone's opinion matters, but others are free to disagree or agree if everyone is respectful. But, regardless of respectfulness, there is also consideration. You were here first and I would hate to make you uncomfortable." Natalie said, her tone was polite, though there was an underlying layer of sass and tease.

However, before anything else was said, a silence enveloped them. She didn't find it uncomfortable nor disturbing. It was rather interesting to her as she wanted to figure out Sidney. He definitely was someone intriguing. Soon another person can to her side, asking if he could sit in the carriage as well. She recognized him as another house mate, not just by his clothes, but by his face. She always remembered people mostly by their features and she honestly made it her duty to remember everyone's name and face. A small smile made its way to her lips as she turned to look at him. "Hello." She greeted him before her attention was turned to Sidney as he signaled for them to come aboard the carriage. With a 'thank you' towards Sidney, Natalie glided into the carriage carefully and quickly.

Once she seated, Natalie waited for everyone to be settled before talking again. "I do not think we have been formerly introduced despite being in the same house. My name is Natalie." She introduced herself, knowing they must have heard her name or have seen her roaming around the castle walls. Natalie knew she was always considered quiet til she had her episodes which were at least four times a year so far. "Is there anything specific the both of you are looking forward to? My craft is much more reliable and I hope the both of you will be there when it happens." She finished, smiling softly, quite hopeful that her divination skills wouldn't be just a wild goose chase this year.
