There are three types of people in this world. First, there are humans.


They have no magical abilities and are incapable of using magic to do anything at all.


Next, there are witches and wizards. These you know well from books and movies. They were born with magic running through their veins and can use it naturally.


Last, and least common, are humans simply known as Blooms. Blooms are like everyone else. But in the way you may have learned how to swim, by taking it slowly or accidentally falling off the dock, they have discovered how to use magic.


Now, the reason I am telling you this is because you need to know this because for the first time, all three have been given permission to educate themselves together. Ulysses High School has invited all three types to attend school. The question is... Which are you?

Jayden hurried up the school steps, almost out of breath, and stopped at the doors. The girl pulled her sleeve up and looked at her watch, panting.


Early. Like always. The girl sat down on the railing by the steps, swinging her legs absently and waiting for the doors to open. No one else had shown up yet, which boosted her self-esteem more than it should have. As she waited for the doors to open her mind grew unoccupied, and she struggled to find entertainment with the cars roaming the street. It was five minutes into the first day and already she was bored.

[Silent Howling]

Ebenezer stopped just outside of the school gates and gave a small smile. He was finally starting school at this new place and for once felt ready to learn. He adjusted his bag before carefully taking the first steps into what he hoped would be a good experience. Ebenezer gazed in awe at the building in front of him and started walking towards the entrance before stopping and tilting his head a bit. Up on the railings by the entrance was a girl and he just stared at her, carefully thinking about what type of person she might be.

Alistar walked up the stiars, loud music blaring from her earbuds. She danced as she walked, swinging her hips and rocking her head, flipping her hair around. She fixed the tank top and her cargo pants as she got to the top, and looked around. Alistar saw a girl with jet black hair, and decided to go say hi. If she was gonna go to school with a bunch of witches and wizards, she could at least try to be friendly. She approached and pulled an ear bud out, "Hey," she waved.

Jayden felt someone's eyes and looked for the person that was looking at her. She was about to call out to him when a girl approached her with a greeting.


"Hi, the name's Jayden. Who might you be?" She examined the girl's eyes, something she always did, as if looking for something. Finally she blinked out of her trance and turned away from her before she waved towards the boy, motioning for him to come closer.

Rim Stood just behind a boy who seemed to be staring at a girl on the steps of the school she was to attend. Rims mood was a mix between depressed and denial. Due to an... accidental discovery, She'd been sent here. This meant having to try making new friend and as her old friends can attest to, that was hard for her to do. She turned to the sound of a girl listening and partially dancing to rock. Rim tried to make herself small and unnoticeable so she wouldn't do her normal thing of saying the opposite of what she means.

"I'm Alistar, just call me Ally or Star, either one works," She said with a shrug, "Have any idea about what we do here?" Alistar asked turning off her music, and stuff in her phone in her pocket.

"See, here, in school, we tend to learn things." Jayden said sarcastically before offering her a shrug, "We still have six minutes before the doors open, I just got here early because..." I wanted to? "I have to go to the library."

Logan was running towards the school gates, making sure he wasn't late. "A good education means a good future!" his mother would always nag those words when he was late to school or he missed a bus. Now here he was with a duffle bag slung over his shoulder and sprinting towards a huge building that he's gonna be trapped in for about...Maybe 6 or 7 hours? Probably 5? Logan had no idea, since he didn't bother to keep track of time. He could see the school gates up in the distance and some people that he had never seen before standing in front of it. Good...I'm not late... The boy approached the gates, slowing down when he had reached them and started gasping for air. He knew he shouldn't have ran that whole distance. Logan felt like he could just curl up on the pavement and die. "U-ugh..."

"See, here, in school, we tend to learn things." Jayden said sarcastically before offering her a shrug, "We still have six minutes before the doors open, I just got here early because..." I wanted to? "I have to go to the library."

"Oh,sorry that I asked about classes, princess," Alistar rolled her eyes as she drew put the word princess. "Geez, what's up with you witches and thinking your better than everyone eles?"

Jeonghan thought he was running late. He lived far from the school and had to take two buses just to get close enough he could walk. He saw that everyone was still outside he managed to relax. Until it sounded like people were fighting. He'd been watching them and hadn't paid attention to where he was walking. He bumped right into some guy. Embarrassing himself already, must be a new record. "Sorry..." He took a step back. He just hoped the guy wasn't too angry or anything.

William reached the front gates of the school he was to attend, and saw that he was far from the first person to be there. He scanned the few groups of people, and decided that he would move toward the guy that looked like he was about to die from either heat-stroke, or not being able to get enough air in his lungs. He sipped at the cup of coffee in his hand, and cocked an eyebrow down at the stranger and decided to avoid mentioning the rather rude remark the girl nearby had just made, it was his first day, and he would really rather make friends, not enemies. "You okay there, guy?" He asked, tapping him on the shoulder.

Logan took in several deep breaths. VERY deep breaths. Then he stood up properly, staggering a bit. He looked at William, giving him a small smile. "Y-yeah...I'm fine now...Who are you, anyways?"

William chuckled a bit, and nodded, a small smile on his face. "William Price, you can call me Will." He stuck out a hand, offering to shake. "Yourself?" He asked. Great, he had already made a new acquaintance, this was going well so far.

Logan nodded and opened his mouth to speak. "My name is Logan Nakashima. It's a pleasure to meet you, Will." The boy then proudly shook his hand. Surprisingly, Logan had a strong grip. "I'm guessing your a student to this school as well?"

William nodded, he had to restrain himself from making a small noise of surprise at the boy's rather strong grip, not that he was complaining. He hated people with a dead-fish handshake, it was one of his pet-peeves, of which he didn't have many. "Yep, I am. And the pleasure is all mine, Logan.

Alistar rolled her eyes and dug her phone and ear buds back out of her pocket. She put them un her ears and clicked a random song, music once again blaring from her ear buds. Heavy metal could be heard of you were standing nearby, and she sat down on a bench. I wonder if there's a school uniform.

William glanced around, looking at all the different people in the area. Already two people hated each other, wonderful. He turned back to Logan with a quiet sigh, shaking his head as he did. "Great, two people hate each other already. And I get the feeling that number is going to increase."

[Pumpkid]

Maverick on the other hand didn't enter like everyone else. No she came in a spontaneous way. She was skate boarding her way towards the entrance of the school. Upon turning the corner and going up hill she didn't notice students waiting at the front gates. She was rushing because she thought she was late. Maverick panics seeing she was about to crash in front of two boys. "Look out!" She shouts and crashes into the two boys taking them down with her. A loud thud could be heard from the fall. Maverick sits up from off the floor and chuckles nervously. She rubs the back of her head sheepishly. "S-sorry. I couldn't stop myself."

Rim went quiet again at having been ignored, probably due to what she'd unintentionally said. She wondered how much longer until the school actually started. Hearing some shouting drew her attention back to the two guy's and a girl who'd crashed into them. Rim decided to remain silent and separate herself from the group waiting for the doors to open.

"Maaan, I'm probably late. Eh, that's cool."


Bernard walked through the school gates, backpack hanging off of one hand, with the other scratching the back of his head sheepishly. He figured that even if he was late, he wasn't the biggest disaster here. Some girl ran headlong into two boys on a skateboard, which he found pretty funny.


"So...was that supposed to be an ollie? 10/10 either way," he commented through a yawn, walking by the crash scene.

Maverick turns her head around to find a very tall and handsome teen. She blushes, eyes glistening with awe towards the guy. Shaking off her trance, Maverick smiles bright and chuckles. "Well I try. Skating tricks. They never seem to come out right." The pink haired girl stomps at the edge of her skateboard lifting it up in her arms and a black messenger bag hanging on her right. She turns back to black haired man. "Do you skate?"

William wasn't even sure what had happened, at first, someone was warning him to watch out, and the next thing he knew, he was lying flat on his back next to Logan, on the concrete. He was in pain, and he was incredibly confused. He groaned quietly, blinking the blur from his eyes. "Well, that hurt..." He said quietly, rubbing his head as he sat up.

Thankfully for Bernard, Maverick didn't seem to pick up on his previous statement's sarcasm. He was actually kind of happy, it had been a while since he had had a friendly conversation.


"I don't really skate, I'm a horrible klutz when it comes to those things," he said, having a quick flashback to when he smashed into someone at an ice skating rink and knocked them out. He had kind of done that on purpose though. That kid was awful.


Noticing William on the ground, he added on "You ok there kid? You're lucky our friend here didn't have a worse sense of humor, otherwise she might have tried to use you as a ramp."
