First Arc (rp here)

 Iris and Xerena

Iris walked forwards with a blank face. She hadn't uttered a single word as the girl neared the demon, her pace unfaltering even in the slightest. Sure, she had less magical power than the older witch, but the demon was already preoccupied trying to melt the other witch's mind as well as preoccupied with his own ego. That's a problem that Iris circumvented for years. She put herself beneath everyone else. Anybody else, was worth more than her own. That's what gave her focus and control over physics. Iris's blank expression remained as she raised her left hand. The air around the demon began to glow and compress around him on all sides. Not only would it be able to crush, it heated to a dangerous level.

Iris's other hand left her side. Soon, the howling of the wind resonated off of the ground and towards her hand. A small spark appeared in her hand which then compressed and formed a sphere. Not a single word left her lips as she began channeling energy onto her palm. This was about to get interesting.

...

"I'll take the portal. That does give me an idea." Xerena made her way through the cavern behind Morrigan, cautious to make sure not to touch anything she didn't have to. In her hand, she began teleporting bits of air back and forth which made currents like a wind knife. It was relatively weak right now, but she had plans for it. Or maybe not even that. "Rank 14, and I feel so stupid not knowing how to mess up these dark spots."

@Thalia_Neko @FrostFire

Lesser Demons of all shapes and sizes swarmed the tunnels of the mysterious cavern below the now-destroyed town. They were mindless, aside from eager to serve the orders of the Demon Lord that had brought them into this world. Quickly, some of the Lesser Demons had come upon Morrigan and Xerena. Roars, grunts, and yelps erupted from the hulking, distasteful beasts. One that was blob-like, holding a spear with its tongue, eyes on its sides, groaned and rushed Xerena with a waddling state, it was preparing to spear her with its weapon. (im not gunna rp all these Lesser Demons, just do what you want with them in your posts lol xD @JPax @FrostFire )

Ao Meira focused around him, as he began to feel the space he was in compress in on itself; not to mention the heat that was burning onto his dark demony skin. "Unhm... " he grunted in dissatisfaction. "Intriguing, you seem to have a knack for doing things that Demons can do."

He removed himself from the center of her attack, appearing in another location in the sky. He held his hand out, and a similar thing began to warp the space around the Witch he was currently fighting. It began to compress and pull in around her, minus the heat, but the effect of crushing would be the same. "I'm a Demon Lord coming from a space that bends the laws of reality and physics. This level of magic is nothing for me. Your merely a copier of the powers us Demons innately possess."

 Iris

Iris collapsed to the ground immediately. Her human body wasn't designed to take this kind of punishments and her mouth opened as she felt the air squeezed from her lungs. She was used to conditions without air, however, so this was really nothing. That, and her own attacks often times affected in her similar ways. Iris's vision began to blur but she brought back her concentration to her left hand. Atop it was a ball of something. A ball of plasma. The compressing of the space had made the ball of plasma far bigger than it needed to be.

Iris quickly got to her feet and raised the ball of plasma above her head, a look of determination crossing her face. She raised her foot and tapped the ground. Unconventionally, Iris often projected magical energy from her feet, mouth, eyes, and even sometimes her forehead. The ground under her feet cracked and Iris was sent forwards towards the demon at tremendous speeds. She raised her hand and shot the plasma, sending several rays of energy towards the demon's chest. Iris then latched onto the demon from behind and attempted to shove the plasma into his head. This was very risky and she was in the line of attack.

@Thalia_Neko

Mentioned: @FrostFire

Ao Meira was grinning on the inside at her perseverance. This wouldn't be much fun, if he just crushed her after one attack, after all. Feeling some searing beams strike his chest, he felt her clasp onto him, swinging onto his back. "Heh heh, nice one, Witch. You're stronger than I was giving you credit for. Not strong enough, though." He suddenly morphed his body, flipping around to face her with his mirror-face. That same mirror-face that was right under where she was applying plasma-pressure trying to break through his tough hide. "Reflection," he announced. The same plasma that was pushing into his face, was now being bounced back, against the girl that was straddling his back -er- front-now.

@JPax

Iris

Iris knew that there was no way she was going to live against that plasma. She managed to convert the heat to concussion energy and felt it hit her like a fist. The power behind that hit made blood drip out of her mouth as she was thrown back several meters. Iris kept her bones intact but there was no way to stop the feeling of pain of being thrown that hard. However, the witch refused to give in and got to her feet once again. She was running out of magical stamina and had to do something with...her traps!

The demon had played right into the traps that Iris set up earlier. They were instantly triggered in a colossal display of heat, light, and sound. Gravity warped hard beneath the demon as the air began to heat up again. The power of all those traps could even make plasma inside the demon itself. Iris stumbled forwards and wiped the blood from her mouth. And just like hat, she touched the ground once more. Pillars of the ground shot towards the demon with a lot of force behind them. On top of that, little pebbles with the speed of bullets followed the center.

@Thalia_Neko

Nearing the images before her, Letitia came to a complete halt, standing there, darkness behind her, a single column of white light illuminating the short, dark 18-year old Witch. A scene playing out before her. With an all-too-familiar face within it. A beautiful young Witch. -No, the most beautiful young Witch there had ever been. White porcelain skin, perfect features, a dress made out of star-light, hair scintillant and radiant.

Yuna. The White Star.

Letitia's heart caught in her throat, as the scene played out. It was the worst memory that she ever had. She had tried to use her magic to destroy it. However, her subconscious over-powered her will, and would not allow her to do so. Even Memoria could not remove such a powerful memory, when she had gone to the 'Memory Witch' to try to get it removed.

This was the worst day in Letitia's young life. Something that had happened only a couple years ago. Even worse than the day she was orphaned. The day she lost Yuna, forever.

Screams of anguish roared from Yuna, as she confronted Letitia, scarier than any Demon or Consumed Witch/Sage. The day that it had all fallen apart.

Worst of all. It had been all Letitia's fault.

In tandem with the other Letitia in the memory, she released her voice. "Y-yuna..." Letitia breathed, reaching out, the scene still playing out before her very eyes; just about to end.

"Go, Letitia. I don't ever want to see you again," Yuna replied, glancing her way, tears, like diamonds, streaking, and staining her perfect face.

Letitia's heart stopped, and she froze, eyes blank, darkness wrapping inward.

"GRAHH!" Ao Meira grunted, falling into the Witch's physics-distorting traps. He was smashed by pressure, flung around, thrown hard into the ground, gravity sucking him downward. Finally he was launched up into the air, only to be bombarded with more painful blasts of physics-defying magical powers. "GRRRAAH!!" He roared angrily, painfully. Spires of earth fired out from under him, smashing into the Demon Lord, pushing him skyward, quickly, keeping him under control momentarily incapacitating him with their powerful magic.

Avon continued to stare her down. He then said "Fine by me, if you don't include her, fine,". He then tightened his stance and continued saying "You are right, good and evil are subjective. However, most people have some sense of it and trust me, most people consider it evil when you literally abduct people and force them to join the Coven or die,". He then gave a glance to Elissa and said "Elissa, remember what we practiced: Stance wide, back straight, keep eyes on target,". Avon then began the mind manipulation, this time having Lilith see Ameila running up to her from behind and attacking her

Iris

Iris grinned a terrifying grin and licked the corner of her lips. She snapped out of it soon enough and closed her fist, increasing the potency of the traps. This weakened Iris exponentially, but there was one more thing she had to do. Iris let the traps take care of the demon and stumbled back to Letitia, kneeling down next to her. She waved over her glassy eyes and figured there had to be a way to fix it physically. Iris tried a few things. First, she tried to trigger Letitia's nerves to get her to snap out of it. It probably wouldn't work.

Iris felt her power draining from her body, she had to either release the traps or die at the suffocating grip of exhaustion. Her breathing became shallow as she put herself over Letitia, reaching out with a cold hand to touch her temple. The instant Iris's hand made contact, a low humming noise from the air began resonating to that location. Specifically, it was a binaural beat. Iris desperately needed her to snap out of it, for she herself didn't have the power to kill the demon alone. That, and Iris couldn't let her die. No, if a higher rank witch died, Iris would be devastated. In fact, if any witch died Iris was known to be affected among the most.

@Thalia_Neko

Lilith went to move closer to Avon. She may be a witch but this Voidwalker knew how to fight without magic too. Which was handy for times like now when she didn't have much in her reserves left for casting spells. Especially since after pre-setting spells before hand and the casting of two spells to protect Amelia hadn't been calculated. So Lilith had put more of her magic into her two experimental spells just to increase the odds of them not failing miserably. One of those said experiment spells involved her contracted demon lord. Nut she suddenly heard Amelia behind her. That was impossible.. Lilith had just sent her away to safety. "wha..?!" Lilith gasped in surprise but otherwise didn't flinch.

At that moment one of Lilith's two counterspells activated, fortifying Lilith's mind. The counterspell had been meant to help increase her focus so she could cast better spells or just to break out of an illusion. Although with Avon's mind magic, the counterspell still proved useful as it momentarily broke Avon's influence over her mind. "so that's what you do... magic that affects the mind somehow. pretty good magic. however, don't expect illusions to work on me now for the next hour." Lilith smirked, thinking she'd already gained the upper hand. In the back of her mind she knew her failsafe could allow her to be as reckless as she wanted. But it there was no such thing as being too careful.

Lilith's 1st experimental spell was set for release in the next few minutes. The experimental spells were time-delayed unlike the remaining counterspell that could be activated at will whenever. She now only had 3 set spells left for use. "my turn." Lilith yelled and refocused on both Elissa and Avon and cast an area of effect magic, Nova Bomb. She threw it into the middle space between Avon and Elissa, where it exploded.

@Broncos @VoodooXOXO

@Chain of Memories (MCRP) (Lilith will be meet up with your char again in my next post via teleporting.)

I took up arms with Blueflame, ready for the oncoming horde.

I flashed around, the sword travelling so quickly, the light was trailing behind it. Lesser demons such as these were easy enough to defeat, but when they were clambering over one another like this, it was somewhat more difficult.

I ploughed through the opposition, pushing them back. Although we were gaining slowly, we were still proceeding in the direction we wanted to be.

Even if I was busy with killing things, I still managed to talk.

"Yes, well.... I'm going to hopefully ask the council to educate more than just the single digits on this... If they had, we would know what we were doing.", I ran a demon through with my sword, it screeched as it fell to the ground. I decapitated another.

"We should probably just destroy everything, just to be safe. 4 didn't explain much... So we still don't really know what we're going for.", I sighed, and disembowelled another demon.

@JPax

What had she done? Why had she did it? It had been perfect. So perfect. Faint memories drifted through her mind. Of a short Witch of darkness, mingling -closely- with a taller, more confident Witch of light. Two that couldn't be more opposite. Two that contrasted so greatly, that their very presence together was a paradox. White and blackness, intermingling, leaving their shadow and light behind, wherever they went. Nearly inseparable at first. Always together. Always doing everything together. Enjoying themselves. Enjoying each other...

Visions of pristine perfect lips, crossed through her mind. Visions of kisses. Visions of intimacy untold.

Stuff that made her sour heart even now, flutter and beat to a new tune. Her tune.

They had a lovely thing going.

Until the one of darkness ruined it. Until Letitia ruined what they had had. Incapable of putting her first. Always working. Work work work.

Her star, always second.

Letitia's world shattered. Its brightness now gone. Only dark remained.

She could feel the darkness. It was all around. Seeping closer. It was the only thing that remained. Why not let it? Inching ever closer, the darkness began to poke at her. Why deny it? There was no white here anymore. What could be the harm? There was no light here anymore. So what did it matter?

Why would it matter, otherwise?

The darkness... it was so enticing.

Who would care, otherwise?

Who would care.

~~~
Within those caverns, hidden underground, Lesser Demon after Lesser Demon continued to flood out towards the two witches. Their forms grotesque and brutish. Not a one looking the same, but all as equally enslaved to the Demon Lord above. His portal, a mirror, their only mission. A drive to murder anything nearby, besides Ao Meira, was all that burned inside them. They didn't even care when one of them was felled by one of the witches. Meaningless. They had numbers: hundreds, thousands! And soon, their mission would be complete. Soon all of Ao Meira's entirety would drain from the mirror-portal, fully releasing the entirety of Ao Meira upon the world.
Meanwhile, up above, Ao Meira was being assaulted by this Witch's powerful physics magic, traps he had tripped, not thoughtful of their involvement in this battle. Uncaring, he hadn't bothered to avoid them. Now they were battering his form from all angles.
"GRRRAAAH!" Roaring, Ao Meira released an intense burst of magical power, feeling the end of the timer ticking down, more and more of his might and 'self' flowing back into him, from the Demon Realm. With that magical burst, he knocked out all the magic effecting him in the vicinity. Cracking his neck, he focused down on the Witch below. The Witch that had caused him grief and pain. The Witch that was sitting beside that other Witch. The one he had thrown into her own mind, into her subconscious. That dark-haired Witch was more dangerous, that was for certain, but he could tell from here, his power was working. She wouldn't last much longer in her own mind.
The other Witch... Well she had some truly annoying magic, but he could feel her magical power dwindling, and clearly she didn't know how to aid the other one. That was good. With a gentle chortle. He held up his hands. A mirror began to crystallize in front of him. "Ao Meira's Remnant!" His shout would've been accompanied by a snide smirk, if he could smirk. "Seeing double?" He asked sarcastically.
Instantly, an arm matching his, only colorless, began pulling itself from the mirror floating before him. Within seconds, like a zombie birthing itself from a grave, a second Ao Miera, completely colorless, pulled itself from the mirror, to float alongside the original, dark, black and purple Ao Meira. He began to laugh -loudly. Roaring thunderous cackles shook the immediate area. It was clear the time to break his portal was drawing to a close. He was nearly whole, and his strength was only increasing. Not to mention that there was now a doppleganger of himself.
Xerena and Iris
"They're not stopping!" Xerena shouted as she teleported a demon into another, making a bloody mess on the ground. A few other demons were simply tossed around until Morrigan could slice them. Xerena warped to the other end of the cave and tossed a rock. It disappeared for just half a second before three demons fell to the ground as large holes appeared in their necks and heads.
...
Iris closed her eyes and she felt something. It wasn't fear from the demon's double, it was the feeling of her own chest moving up and down in completely silent laughter. The demon told her his name. As the physics traps fell, Iris got to her feet. A smile was spread across her face, and she touched the air with one hand. It began to ripple and shimmer, as six balls of plasma appeared.
They were red in color, instead of their typical blue. The air compressing itself on the plasma made the atmosphere around the demons quite hot. Iris took no time to waste and, with her diminishing strength, fired off the plasma. Three balls split into six rays each. Eighteen, headed for each demon at the speed of light. And Iris knew his name.
@Thalia_Neko
I racked my brains, I didn't want to spend almost all of my energy on one spell..... But it didn't look like I had a choice. We were being pushed back now, slowly being overpowered by sheer numbers. "Tch. Xerena! I'm going to have to do something... I may lose consciousness after this, and I will be severely weakened. So if it doesn't work, we have a massive problem.", I sliced a few more demons.
Djinzal!
What is it, girl?!?! I'm taking a bath. I smiled at that. I always managed to catch him at awkward times...
Do demons even take baths...? Anyway, I'm going to perform the inferno blast spell....
Oh for hell's sake girl! You're always so... Ugh, fine. But don't expect me to come and save you when it backfires.
It won't! Although a little help in this situation would be nice...
Ugh. I'll help if you're really in trouble. Which I suspect will be soon.
I smiled as his muttering became more and more distant, before I couldn't even hear it at all.
I ran through a row a demons, and kicked them back, so they formed a temporary obstruction.
"Xerena, you aren't going to like this, but you have to hold my hand. Otherwise you might get severely damaged in the blast.", I gritted my teeth, and held out my hand. Slicing up the demons that had broken down the barrier with tho other.
@JPax
Xerena
Xerena turned to Morrigan, much to the surprise of the demons attacking Xerena. "What?? Okay!" The demons behind her were impaled by the same rock, which seemed to be on its last run. She grabbed Morrigan's hand while hoping for the best.
Behind them, Xerena began to set up a teleport shield. It would take a lot of time, but once it was up it teleported things away from the shield repeatedly.
@FrostFire (sorry short post am in class)
I held tightly to Xerena's hand, and breathed deeply.
I call on the powers of Djinzal, to help destroy these demons, their gateway into this realm, and to return the demon above to it's realm, return all to what it was as if they had never been here! I call on the powers of Djinzal to perform...
"Inferno blast!!".
In the milliseconds before the blast, air around us warped and bent, and pressure built up around myself and Xerena, as if we were being squeezed to death by a giant.
The implosion only lasted for a moment, and then everything was calm for what felt like seconds, but was probably only a millionth of one. Bright withe-blue flames exploded outwards from us, shrieking and thundering, blasting the lesser demons away in a mist of blood. The explosion did absolutely nothing to the earth, and merely fazed through it. It travelled through the underground caves, obliterating all foreign things in it's path, including the portal and anything else used by or in any way related to the demons there. The tunnels were clogged with the blue explosion, the whole cave system blindingly bright, and hotter than a star.
The supernova explosion travelled through the soil, and appeared at the surface, directly underneath the fight above. The explosion engulfed Laitia, Ao Meira and Iris, the two witches were affected like the soil, but affected the demon as the one's below.
As the huge blast dissipated, Morrigan collapsed onto the floor, completely spent of energy, and in an almost coma like state of unconsciousness. The earth, on inspection, was purified of any magic done to it by the demons, and this was presumably what had happened to the two witches above as well.
As I lost consciousness, the last thing I heard was Djinzal whisper in my ear,
Goodnight, little witch... I will always protect you...
@Thalia_Neko @JPax
((I hope I did okay...;-; ))
Ao Meira roared in pain. This time for real. His pain was excruciatingly bad. Especially from the searing plasma. He had no idea why they were hurting him so badly. He didn't realize he had given away his name so stupidly, and casually. He was struggling under the weight of the spells. If he could just hold out, until he was whole.. Then none of this would matter... Even when a strange burst came up through the ground, and hit him, he did not go down. He had an iron willpower, and would remain standing until that mirror stopped feeding him energy.
...
Letitia was sitting in the door, long black hair trailing on the ground. A small little beam of white light was upon her, but it was slowly trickling out. She had already given in. Nothing really mattered anyway. So what was the purpose of even trying? Yuna didn't care, or even worse, didn't want her. Then there was another. A second Witch, who had red hair. She was off in the distance, bounding around, having her own style of fun. Yet, Letitia wasn't even looking at her. All of it didn't matter. Might as well just stay here, in this space...
A wave of power flickered through that dark place. "Huh?" Letitia grunted, looking up. Blinking, she stood up. It was like something had slapped her awake. What was she doing, sitting on the ground in this blackness? What was she doing letting the voices, and feelings dig in under skin? "Stupid, stupid, stupid!" She growled angrily, clenching her fists. The images she had seen down here in this dark pit would not leave her any time soon. Even the images of a faint memory involving a red-headed Witch.
She would not needlessly forget, but she would also not let them control her. No giving into despair! "YYYAH!" she shouted, suddenly awake.
Laying on the ground, atop the ruined town, Letitia sat upright, bringing herself back to her senses. "What? Where am I?" Looking around, she spotted Ao Meira, who was struggling under the pressure of magic. Wait a minute. That was right! She had to defend this place from him. Preferably kill him.
Putting her hands together, black and orange markings appeared, with various symbols and runes all around them. "Desecrate and demolish!" She shouted, holding her hand out at Ao Meira. He yowled as dark magical power began to push down on him, appearing above him like a cloud of destructive demonic energy. Letitia leaped upward, and caught the doppleganger in her hand. "Dragon Claw!" She shouted again, forming her hand into that three-prong claw shape. Her ring and pinky together, her pointer and middle together. Slamming her attack hard into the doppleganger, her 'dragon claw' sliced right through it, the Destructive magical power spreading through the doppleganger like wildfire.
@JPax @FrostFire
Xerena and Iris
As Morrigan slumped down, Xerena's arms held onto her from below and held her up. They had to get out of the damned cave, or somewhere safe. Xerena teleported the two of them to a safe patch in the cave where not too much light reached. It was also mostly closed. "Huh...that was impressive. You better be alright..."
...
Iris had disappeared in the middle of the fight. Everything had slowed in her eyes, even frozen. The fight between the demon and 4 was going by ever so slowly. Now that was the last of her physical strength. Iris painfully made her way behind the original demon and her mouth opened.
Iris never spoke, to witches. Not to any witch ever, except for Emily. An instant notice let Iris gather her thoughts, but she rejected them. From behind Ao Meira, Iris cast a silent spell from her mind. An open handed strike from her middle, ring, and pinkie jabbed at Ao Meira's back with full intent to paralyze the demon. At the scale the impact was made, the laws of physics broke down drastically between her fingers. Concussion force from all sides began their way onto the demon, with enough force to crush spines or paralyze with invisible wires.
Iris felt her power draining to the very end as her eyes dulled. Iris thought a couple of thoughts as she felt her vision leave her. She stepped back and looked to the ground with what she could make out. Iris refused to even take a seat despite the magical strain and injuries the demon caused her. She raised her hands, her bare hands with no magic, defensively.
@Thalia_Neko @FrostFire
Avon proceed to shove Elissa out of the way and was knocked back into a tree from the Nova Bomb. He then chuckled and said "They call you a Voidwalker, eh? I see why,". He then proceeded to summon a fireball and threw it at her. He was in full force now and hoped that Elissa would run back into the castle. He then chuckled internally "No point, she's just going to stay here and help me,"
Krian
Krian had just gotten an assignment to heal a man sick with another infection from being cut while working out in the fields. He thought this may be the perfect time to try out his two new apprentices to see if they had not only the aptitude but also the drive, attitude, and will to properly be a healer. But knowing his luck he'd be doomed to incompetent idiots for the rest of his life. Time to find the future idiots and give them a basic lesson on healing magic. As he walked into their room at the inn he noticed that the boys were still sleeping. "Get up. You incompetent fools. We have a big day today. I thought you said you wanted to be healers. The way it looks from here it looks like you just want to be stupid fools who sleep all day. Are you addled or just a complete moron? We need to get moving. GET UP." The apprentices got up as soon as he started talking but they were moving so slowly one would think they were mentally challenged.
Apprentice 1 actually grew a pair and decided to respond"I thought you said that we didn't have to get up until noon, Master Krian." Apprentice 2 nodded along quickly.
"Yes. You're right but noon passed around an hour by now. And if you keep talking you will be the first to try healing WITHOUT any instruction first." At least they listened to me. Even if they are a pair of buffoons.
"Now come along." As Krian walked along to where the unfortunate farmer lived and saw the man's skin is a sickly yellow color and his eyes are bulging and bloodshot. "It looks as if you were lieing about how you got hurt... No matter. It changes nothing." He turned to apprentice 1 and said, "Go get some hollyleaf tea and some bread. He'll need it." Krian then turned to #2, "Now tell me what is hollyleaf used for and how does it apply to this man's condition."
"Hollyleaf tea is used to combat nausea. I would assume that we will attempt to cleanse his body of the infection by making him vomit and the hollyleaf tea is going to be used to after to make sure he can still eat afterwards."
"Wrong. Hollyleaf tea is also used to combat fevers. Never assume anything. If you don't know the answer then say you don't know." Krian was already starting to hate these apprentices. If only it hadn't have been an assignment from the Collective he wouldn't have ever taken these two on. #1 came in and handed the tea and bread to Krian and he started to work.
"#1 what is the common spell to get rid of an infection and can it be used by somebody without a spirit or demon?"
"The common spell to get rid of an infection is... is... called... Right body? and it can not be used without a bound spirit or demon... Right?"
"What did I ever do to deserve you two as my apprentices... Wrong. The common spell for infections is Control Infection and it can be used without a spirit or demon's help as long as someone has the power reserves for the spell. The Right Body spell is used to repair cuts and torn ligaments and tendons." Krian was just about ready for the spell as he laid his hands on the man he realized there was just one last thing to do.
Mimir. Are you there?
I am here my child.
Will you provide some help with the Control Infection spell? If I do it alone I could end up killing this man.
I still don't quite understand why you need my help. You could cast this spell in your sleep. Why do you need help?
I do believe that this man has an infection of the brain. If I attempt this alone there is a three in five chance of him dying.
Ahh.. I understand know. Yes, I will help.
Thank you Mimir.
You do not need to thank me, my child.
"As the sea calms, as the deserts dry, and as the winds die, I call upon Mimir. Find the invasion, and force it out, Control Infection."  Krian hands glowed a soft white light that slowly enveloped the man and returned the normal color to his skin. When something went wrong. The light was being absorbed by the man and slowly taking more of Krian's reserves. "#1 separate my hands from his body and do a dispelling. NOW." #1 forced Krian's hands away from the man but the light was still flowing from Krian to the man.
"Dispel" The light slowly faded from the room and Krian fell to the floor and passed out. "Master Krian. Master Krian. Wake up."
Ao Meira felt the magical presence behind him, and instantly de-materialized from before the Witch's face. He appeared behind Letitia, and in a swift strike, kicked her hard into the ground. Where she slammed hard, shattering earth from the impact. His gaze lingered on the dark-haired witch. Angrily he wondered how she had managed to escape his power. The first Witch didn't seem to have any regrets, or darkness for his power to fester and grow. This Witch of darkness below him did, though. A lot of baggage. A lot of torment and mental anguish. She should've melted and succumb to his power easily.
"Grrr. No matter. I'll just crush the both of them," Ao Meira growled to himself, turning his mirror-face back towards the other Witch that had attempted some sort of paralyzing? spell. He didn't want to get hit by it, not because it would actually paralyze him, his body didn't work like that, but because somehow, her attacks were hurting a lot more. Had she discovered his name? Dammit. Well, it was fine. The portal was still intact, and his true-self was nearly complete. "Heh heh heh heh..." he chuckled, his chest rumbling, while he clenched his fists and drew in power.
Where Letitia hit the ground, after being kicked hard in the back, she grunted, pulling herself yet again out of some small crater. Above she noticed some other Witch, finally. Wait, that wasn't 13 or 14. Who was it? From here, she couldn't see any symbols, and was at a loss to who it was. They seemed to be helping, maybe they had helped her get free of Ao Meira's subconscious-prison? It was hard to tell. It had been some sort of powerful magical burst that had shaken her thoughts, allowing her to remember who she was, and why she did the things she did.
Regardless, this other Witch, who she did not recognize quite yet, was providing aid in this battle, except she was poised right above her, a powerful magical strike aimed right for her. Ao Meira had effectively switched places with Letitia, and now she was in the direct line of this Witch's attack!
It was growing increasingly harder to defend against Ao Meira's blows. Her magical barrier had taken quite a beating, and her physical body was straining. He seemed to be getting stronger. Oh no... Did 13 and 14 fail to break his portal? Where were those two? Why did they not do as she had said?! If he became full, here in the physical world, even Letitia was wondering if she had a chance to kill him. And now, she was about to be struck by her own Coven Witch aid, if her attack continued. It was bad enough to defend against Ao Meira, but to defend against her fellow Coven, too?
Iris felt her power draining to the very end as her eyes dulled. Iris thought a couple of thoughts as she felt her vision leave her. She stepped back and looked to the ground with what she could make out. Iris refused to even take a seat despite the magical strain and injuries the demon caused her. She raised her hands, her bare hands with no magic, defensively.
Oh, it seemed to resolve itself, with the danger passing, as the other Witch no longer was able to accidentally strike at her. Sighing in relief, and getting to her feet, she peered at this other Witch, who was still unknown to her. Placing a comforting hand on her shoulder, she said simply, "Are you okay? T-thanks for the help... Um.. There's this portal that he's drawing power from. It's currently below us somewhere. Though, at this point, it's magical signature is low, as it's nearly through with its power. Regardless... I know this may be a lot to ask... Can you find it, and destroy it for me?"
She knew, just by standing next to this Witch, that she was nearly out of magical power. That she was struggling to maintain herself, but it was vital that this task be done, and Letitia had to deal with Ao Meira. Draw his attention and keep him busy. That much she knew. He'd kill anyone he thought was close to breaking his portal. She had to fight with him in the meantime. Though, Letitia, was also beginning to feel the weariness of this drawn out battle.
Iris
Letitia would find she was talking to nothing but air, and that she didn't even get a chance to put her hand on Iris's shoulder. There was a hole in the ground, already, where Iris was standing. Iris was a member of the Coven, but she never considered herself anything as a fellow witch. If anything, Iris felt her duty was against Ao Meira, not to serve Letitia.
...
Iris landed directly in the cave, narrowing her eyes. Her keen senses, designed to measure any physical anomaly, located the portal quicker than you could say 'slapstick Canadian fish.' She looked at it and thought about ways to destroy it. The first one being, she lifted her hand and began compressing the air around the portal to a high degree. The cave around her began to lose its air and was in danger of suffocating Iris, but she didn't let it stop her.
The Witch's magic was enough; the compressing air around the mirror was enough to shatter it completely. Just in time, too. The last vestiges of Ao Meira were just about to be sent through, and into the Demon Lord on the side of the physical realm. Turns out, thanks to the efforts of Xerena, and that large-scale magical spell from Morrigan, the Lesser Demons guarding the mirror had all been wiped out, leaving the portal Ao Meira had used to come through completely defenseless.
It was a powerful mystical artifact. In fact, it's discovery from the residents in this now-destroyed town, had used to to inadvertently contact themselves with Ao Meira on the other side. The mirror had been used by the Demon Lord to show people their truest selves, the darkness within that they hid. It was because of this mirror, this artifact that was connected to the Demon Lord of Soul-searching, Introspection and Mirrors, that a Darkspot had formed within this town. His power grew the darkness within these people, and allowed the Darkspot to fester, and boil. This was a very powerful artifact, and one mirror you should never ever look into. Especially, if you hid anything deep within yourself.
Except, it was still just a mirror. It shattered so easily under her magic.
..
Ao Meira was about to stop the conversation between the two, listening in on it. Damn that black-haired Witch! She knew farrrr too much! He dove down from his place in the sky, only to be shocked when the second Witch removed herself quickly from the conversation, sinking through the ground with a hole created by magic. "What?!" He growled, furiously. Right, his mirror! Oh no! He was about to strain himself to intercept the other Witch. That annoying little... who was annoying him this entire time with her physics-based magic, but he had no time.
The mirror -his portal- was shattered, and closed. "RRAAGH!" He roared, floating back up in the sky, clutching his head, magical blue-light seeping from him like mist. "AUUUUGHH!!" This was his most pained wail yet, and it was deafening, causing even Letitia to bow over, clutching her ears, blood leaking from them. The last remainder of his Demon-spirit was severed from him, and he felt that impact one-hundred fold. The pain was excruciating, but the loss of that bit of himself, was even worse. Now his rage knew no limits. His power as a fearsome Demon Lord swelled. He would destroy these witches, and everything else!
A large shockwave of magical rage relased from him, and it bubbled outward, smashing into the earth, and sending everything sprawling back from it, with Aoi Meira in its center, including Letitia, who was swept backwards like a speck of dust.
I moaned softly as I regained consciousness. Djinzal was right, I wasn't going to be in good shape for awhile...
Clumsily, I brought my hand up to my head, and rubbed it. My limbs were all numb and jelly-like, so precise movements were difficult... In one fluid motion, I managed to slap myself, hard, with the back of my hand, groaning louder at my idiocy and lack of motor skills.
My ears were suddenly pierced by a piercing scream, making them ache, even though I could tell I was quite far off, and behind something.
I tried getting up, but my spine went all floppy half way there, and I crashed back down, onto my face this time. This was when I realised I hadn't managed to open my eyes yet... Come to think of it, my whole face felt swollen and numb, even though I knew it wasn't. I peeled back my eyes slowly, and managed to flop over so that I wasn't breathing in the floor.
I looked around, and saw Xerena there. Trying to speak, I said, "Fulloooo.... Muh. Unghu.". Well. It seemed as if my mouth wasn't working either. I took a few breaths, I could do this.
"Whaaaaaaaa-d.... Haaabben?", close enough. I really had outdone myself, and I would be feeling awful for a few days, at least.
I squirmed around a little, and saw that we were still in the cave system. What had that intense scream been? It must've been the demon... Good, Letitia managed to defeat it. I sighed internally, relief lifting a weight from my shoulder.
I managed to squirm over the floor to prop my back up on a rock, in sitting position. I was feeling a little better, and my condition was improving by the minute.
(Yay! I finally posted!!! :3)
Letitia leaped up, bracing herself against the force of his anger. Time to end this. He was stuck here in the physical world. No tether, broken inside, and she knew his name. Ao Meira would finally go down, before he could achieve any of his horrendous plans that he undoubtedly had. Arms encasing themselves in magical power, turning black to reflect that, she launched herself at the Demon Lord. The other witches around had very little magical power left, she could feel it. It would be very dangerous to their lives if they engaged anymore combat. That meant she had to end him alone.
That, after all, was her duty as a high-ranked Coven Witch. She was number Four for a reason! A reason he would learn that day.
"GRRRAH! Letitia, I will end you, and your pathetic world!" Ao Meira shouted at her, revealing he actually knew her name after all, and who she actually was. He watched as she quickly approached him, with a magically enhanced burst of speed. "I was holding back before, because it was amusing. But I'm not amused any longer! Prepare to be crushed by my full, unhindered power! GRRAH!" With that out there, he clenched his fists inward, and more magic power than she had ever felt before swarmed about him in a storm of raging fury. Then he launched himself at her. His might was so intrusive, that it left physics-breaking cracks within the air behind him, leaving the sky looking like a cracked mirror.
Together, they met midair. Clashing, the Witch and the Demon sent out powerful electrifying shockwaves. In speeds that most could not keep up with, the two continuously butt-heads, clashing everywhere in powerful physical magical splendor. Each slam between them felt by the entire neighboring area. Their mad battle was nothing but insanity. With blow after blow exchanged between the two. The area nearby felt the after effects, shattering, and collapsing with each clash of theirs.
With one powerful hit, Letitia slammed into the ground, her small body bouncing like a stone thrown into a pond. Ao Meira wanted to follow up his clean hit, by appearing next to her, aiming to slam her hard straight down into the ground with some sort of body-slam. Letitia, instead, blinked beside him, surprising the Demon Lord. Dark magic encased her leg, and she kicked him hard, smashing her foot into the side of his head; sending him rag-dolling away this time. As soon as he stopped midair, catching himself, Letitia appeared behind him, and karate chopped the back of his neck, with a blackened magical-powered hand. Ao Meira stopped her attack, by catching her arms. Grabbing her arms, his body formed around to face her, while he boasted, "Heh heh heh, foolish Witch! You cannot hope to beat me, even after all you've done to try to, I'm still farrrr too powerful for you!"
With that, he swung around, while Letitia screamed at the force, and threw her. Instantly, he appeared where he had thrown her, and grabbed her head, flying downwards, smashing her into the ground.
"UGH! Grr! Get off of me!" Letitia grunted from the crater their impact had just made. Dark Impulse. Dark magic, swirling with orange electrical currents fired out in a magical ray of concussive force. The concussive force exploding, hitting Ao Meira and quickly removing him from on top of her. To follow up her attack, she leaped up into the air, forming a myriad of quick hand signs; writing the spell. Glaring her intense focus at him, she released her spell, and a circular, orange runic mark branded the air behind her. Now written, Letitia recited her spell, "Meteoric Cataclysm!"
The sky darkened above, and giant bright orange 'meteors' of magical death erupted from the heavens, falling, aimed down at Ao Meira. Before he could recollect himself, after her last magical blast, the 'meteors' collapsed on top of him. With a fierce scream of pain, he was buried under those magical meteors, each one slamming into their target from above. The ground giving way under such magical weight, with Ao Meira taking the brunt of the attack, sandwiched against the ground and her powerful spell. This spell was one of her strongest, and she could feel its magical force from up in the sky, where she was floating, magically held in the air, during the casting of her spell. This spell would leave this area magically charged for quite awhile.
Impossible. Simply impossible. He still lived?
Abruptly, a spike of manic magic could be directly felt from where her spell was still crashing into him. Ao Meira was not dead, or even down for the count. Demon Lords truly were terrifying.
That's enough!!! Ao Meira's harsh, metallic-scratching voice thundered out, seemingly coming from everywhere at once. It wasn't even spoken, more like -felt. Like his rage. He materialized in the air above Letitia, and held his arms out towards her. "Die!!! Reflective Reversal!" Three congruent rays fired from his mirror-face (which she noticed was cracked now), and his two hands; forming into one simultaneous focused beam. The magic slammed into Letitia's back, as she was unable to dodge, her spell rooting her in place during its cast-time.
All the pain he had felt, all the magic damage he had taken, and all of his berserk wrath were in those three lasers of power. The beam took the body of Letitia on a course of its own, smashing her into the earth, like he had just been, and pushing her down. Letitia's body was drilled down into the earth, his attack so powerful, that she couldn't move, or retaliate. Her magical barrier was dissipating, soon his power would eat right through her soft flesh, and her entire being. This was the end. She couldn't kill him after all. This was why she was only Four. If Three, Two, or One, were here this would've been taken care of within seconds. Ao Meira would've been dead long before any of the destruction of this land had even occurred. He would've been dead long before he even understood what had happened. He could've been whole, and at his prime power, and he still would not have stood a chance.
She understood now.
She was a joke. A fraud.
'Destruction magic'?
Pfft. What a load of shit.
She wasn't anything.
She might as well have been ranked 45. For all the difference it made.
Yuna didn't believe in her. The Coven's Council didn't believe in her. Those witches around the immediate area didn't believe in her. Not even she believed in her.
Ao Meira was too strong. He would kill her with this attack, then kill her fellow witches around, then set his sights on the Coven. Sure, he couldn't assault it, not with the Top 3 there, but he would wait, bide his time, and grow stronger. She had failed. Letitia would let a Demon Lord go free into their world, and his evil would mature, growing and rotting the land. What a sick joke.
Wait. No. That wasn't exactly right. She had received this mission specifically from One. That meant... Well, One would not send her here without understanding the situation... Which could only mean... that One actually did believe in her! One could've come here and instantly removed the Darkspot, and instantly defeated Ao Meira on her own. If she had sent Letitia here... She must've believed Letitia could do the same!
Belial I need your help.
No, my Letitia, you do not.
Eyes opened, while she was continuously pressed into the ground by Ao Meira's powerful magical force. Belial was right, she realized. Of course she could do this! She was Four of the Coven, and had insane magical might! Darkness, mixed with orange-red sparks swarmed around her. Her magic -Destruction- was made specifically for this type of thing! One of the singularly most powerful Offensive magic types out there, nothing could stand in her way. Her magic was fabricated exactly to destroy demons, as well as anything else in her way, that she deemed necessary to destroy.
Clenching her fists, drawing out magical power, her eyes glowed harshly, changing from a pretty, striking green, to a severe, dominating orange-red. Cracks appeared under those eyes, spreading across her face. Her mouth began to split, and teeth sharpened on their own. Her dress began to rip, tearing as her body expanded, muscular structure changing, that smaller frame buffing up with brawn. While magic flowed into her, long dark hair began to sharpen on its edges, and her scalp disappeared, forming straight into her hair. Pupils disappeared, red-orange irises spreading out; eyes now deep pits of orange-red heat sinks. Letitia's awakening was right there: on the edge.
Letitia burst through the ground behind Ao Meira, causing him to whip around in surprise, his focused beam dissipating, leaving a deep, drilled tunnel downwards into the earth, smoking and glowing from the magical force. This nearly-awakened Letitia slammed her hands together, palms facing out towards the Demon Lord before her, her soulless orange-red eyes glued to her target. Wild mouth, with razor-sharp teeth spoke, chanting one of the most dangerous spells in her repertoire. Top three in her arsenal, at least. A spell so powerful, that it was basically a sin to use. Its effects... well...
"Terminate! Decimate! Annihilate! Ruinate!"
The sky behind Letitia boomed, and thundered, turning instantly black, red lightning flashed out, trailing through it like glowing veins, cracking and beginning to break; parting... letting something through. However, the Nightess did not finish the rest of the chant, instead focusing all of its built-up magical energy into another spell of hers. One of her favorites. Why had it taken her so long to use this in this battle, she wondered for a split-second, before finally releasing her pent-up magic, in a terrifying spell, displaying her insane power as Four of the Coven. The Destruction Witch, 'Letitia the Nightess'.
"Eradicator!!!" Half-awakened Letitia screamed to the heavens. A massive orange, red and black laser fired from her palms. The massive beam fired onward, towards the Demon Lord with insane, violent speed, a crackling, piercing, wave-like sound emitting from her attack. As soon as it fired out, the area around Letitia cracked in her own display of physical law-breaking powers, the earth and sky shaking uncontrollably.
Ao Meira realized the danger, and instantly retaliated of his own, holding out his hand, his own powerful beam of magic fired to clash with hers. He was surprised, honestly. This level of magical power was far beyond what he had expected to see. The Demon Lord actually felt... fear.
'Eradicator', and the Demon's magic smashed together, fighting for supremacy. However, the fight didn't last long and 'Eradicator' completely engulfed Ao Meira's magic, causing it to decease, obliterating his retaliatory attack. 'Eradicator' continued straight at the stunned Demon Lord, with one goal, to completely and totally eradicate Ao Meira from existence. That was this spell. A beam of concentrated destruction that ate through anything, with an insatiable hunger for ruination.
"GRAH!" Ao Meira roared, not giving up, instead using his mirror-face this time, slamming that against the penetrating end of Eradicator. Fighting with it, the Demon struggled desperately. His mirror-face began to channel its absorbing powers, while he fought off the beam's destructive nature long enough... His mirror-face began cracking more, spreading outward, like ice threatening to shatter on a lake's surface. "GRRAAH!" He shouted, focusing with all his might into absorbing Letitia's magic. Eventually, the beam faltered, lowering its intensity, until it disappeared from Letitia's palms altogether, nothing but a faint, sizzling little ray of orange light; incredible magical might all but forgotten. Ao Meira floated there, his chest heaving in long, heavy 'breaths' from overexertion; staring at her, Letitia, too, seemed to be quite out of breath.
"Heh heh... Heh heh heh... Heh heh heh heh heh!" Ao Meira slowly laughed, regaining himself. The Demon Lord puffed up with mocking laughter, knowing that was her final attack. He had managed to circumvent destruction, by completely absorbing it! His intention to use 'Reflection', a power he had, that allowed him to redirect magic, bouncing it back. Sure, now his mirror-face was nothing but wild, uncountable cracks, but he removed the danger. "Letitia. Letitia. Letitia... You should have ended your first spell," he hinted, "instead of settling on using your secon-..." He froze, mid-sentence, his words trailing off into meaninglessness. Clutching his chest, Ao Meira groaned, grappling with inner chaos. Struggling to retain himself, and not understanding what was going on, Ao Meira began glowing brighter and brighter, heat simmering about him, his body smoking.
"What's the meaning of this? What's happening?! What IS HAPPENING?!" Ao Meira shouted outward, his body unfurling, arms and legs outstretched, wings spread, cracked-mirror-face upwards. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" His final scream rang out, before his face shattered, and black, orange, and red energy released from him, his body following suit, disintegrating with a massive explosion. Eradicator had done its job, and sent the Demon Lord to oblivion. Nothing stood in that spell's way. An all-encompassing magical force of destruction. Not even Ao Meira could absorb its entirety; suffering the consequences of even trying.
With that finally done, and no magical signature of Ao Meira present any longer, Letitia gently floated back to the ground. Upon contact of her feet touching down onto the wounded earth, the Witch was back to normal, -well mostly normal. She collapsed, with rips, bruises, cuts, loss of clothing, loss of skin-color, and blood. Laying face down on the ground, Letitia couldn't move, or feel any part of her body, but the pain she knew she was experiencing was tremendous. Her entire form was numb, and she struggled to remain conscious. Finally, Ao Meira was defeated, finally she could end this mission. Except! No... the Mature Darkspot was still there. This entire fight, and none of the magic previously used had managed to fix it! It had to be closed, it had to be removed. This earth was wounded from an intense magical battle, but eventually it would heal. Except not if the Darkspot remained. This place would forever be host to darkness, and evil intentions, radiating morbid thoughts, and powerful negative emotions.
Letitia shook, striving to get to her feet, to perform the rite to abolish the Darkspot. Her body and her mind clashed. She knew her duty, but simply couldn't move even an inch. At that particular moment, her magic reserves were empty. Completely drained in every single regard: mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, magically -Letitia just could not fulfill her mission, and instead closed her eyes.
A woman, who really wasn't old enough to be called a woman, Strolled carelessly down the way leading to Hamlot. The girl's apple red hair swayed ever so gently and her sparkling ocean blue eyes could stun anyone who saw then for the first time, into awed silence. Though the girl herself had no idea of how pretty she actually was. due to not ever having a reason to care about looks or having an interest in beauty. So asking her about her own looks would simply result in her answering with, "who? me?.. I'm pretty?.. haha! no, I'm just plain looking." That very response lead most everyone to believe she was just being modest. But Ava, the girl, really thought she looked plain. The path to Hamlot was a relatively boring one. Aside from the greenery and animals if you were the type to stop and admire that kinda thing.... which is exactly what Ava was doing.
She looked at every bush, leaf, animal, and tree like a child in a candy store looked at candy. Having been stuck in a basement with nothing to see but an unchanging wall of stone, Ava liked, no loved, being out in the world. Though everything she knew of it came from books and such from her studies under Uncle Victor's guidance. Anyone else and they would probably have missed the footprints, two sets to be exact. One set leads into the town ahead and showed no signs of having returned back this way. Then there were the tracks leading into the wood beside the 'road'. Those tracks had no trail leading in or out of the town. Like someone had just poofed there and went into the woods for some reason.
"...h-... h-ello?" She called into the trees, feeling nervous. Her mind already jumping to conclusions like, bandits, a person whose injured, a criminal, the list went on. Ava balled her fist and worked up some false bravado and took a determined step towards the trees. "hello? is anyone in there?" She listened for what seemed like ages for a reply. But really only half a minute had passed. Ava took her first step into the trees, looking around for anyone who might be hiding. She had the momentary thought of this all being for nothing as whoever went into the trees could very well have run away. Though, Ava shook it off justifying herself with the thought that poking around a bit just in case wouldn't hurt.
