[azimuth]

"we've been cued. Let's go. Well head back into the forest. There's no other cover nearby." after a moment, zack cooed as scarlet had. Scarlet was helping him translate. His accent was terrible. Though peppa seemed to understand. 'time to go'

 

[Telios]

Tupus nodded and went with Zack, Scarlet and Peppa to the forest.

 

[azimuth]

~four hours later~


"right here. Make yourselves comfortable and let me get some sleep already." scarlet was already asleep again, on zacks shoulder. He climbed the nearest tall tree and placed scarlet on a thin branch near one that could support his own weight. Peppa looked around for a while before finding a hollowed out tree stump. Ensuring it was empty, she went and hid in it.

 

[Telios]

Tupus just laid down and leaned his back against a tree, keeping watch of their surrounding.

 

[azimuth]

Nightfall came a few hours later. Zack slept in and Scarlet took off to do a little hunting. Thanks to being an owl, she can happily eat mice or vole or the like to keep her strength up. And a bonus is she's able to get it herself. Roughly an hour after the sun had set, Zack began climbing down the tree.

 

[Telios]

Tupus had fallen asleep under the tree, tired from all the moving around.

 

[azimuth]

Zack looked at him for a moment, and then to peppa's little hidey Hole. She was neatly curled up and sleeping soundly. Zack began to walk away, back towards the town.


Emily watched as Zack left. From her place in the sky, she began to descend, soon alighting in a nearby clearing. She then made her way towards where Tupus and peppa were sleeping.


Emily:

 

[Telios]

Tupus rustled in his place as he slept, feeling someone is nearby but he didn't woke up.

 

[azimuth]

While Emily was a little ways away, she unzipped the backpack she was wearing backwards. It was easier to fly with it that way. She took out a plastic Chinese food container, still very warm, a plastic fork, and a note which was simply signed "Emily". She stepped slowly and carefully towards where Tupus slept, and she silently prayed he won't wake right now.

 

[Telios]

Tupus groaned as he flipped around. He...didn't look so well, maybe having a bad dream. Suddenly, he snapped his eyes open, panting. "Not again..." He groaned and turned, only to see another hybrid.

 

[azimuth]

Emily almost moaned out loud, but managed to keep herself from doing so. She froze when he opened his eyes. "it's okay." she said softly. "I've got some food if you'd like it. I was hoping not to wake you." though not near enough for him to just take it now, Emily offered the container to Tupus. With her other hand, she scrunched up the note.

 

[Telios]

"Wh-Who are you?" Tupus asked, unnerved. He slowly reached a hand out and took the container before he heard a noise. One similar to someone scrunching up paper. He didn't ask anything about it, although hoping that she won't rat him out to the scientists.

 

[azimuth]

"just another escapee like you, only I got out of another facility a while ago. My name is Emily." she said, smiling warmly.

 

[Telios]

"Oh..." Tupus sighed in relief, continuing. "Well I'm glad that you made it out."

 

[azimuth]

"as am I, that you and your friends did..." there was a short silence, then out of nowhere seemed to appear scarlet only it didn't seem to be scarlet, if it is known what that meant. She landed on a high branch and looked about, as though she was hunting. Quite the actress.

 

[Telios]

"Huh?" Tupus looked up at the owl.

 

[azimuth]

Emily reached into her backpack again and sat down as she went through it. She glanced up to see if the owl was still there. It was, so she pulled out, and opened, a small jar of honey. Scarlets eyes locked onto the jar. Honey was this owls favourite substance. Scarlet tried to restrain herself from just diving down and plunging her head into the jar. "come on, I know your acting. I've been following you since the town. I know you're not a nor-" she never finished because scarlet leapt from the high branch and plummeted straight down. She threw her wings out to slow herself down and landed almost on top of the jar. She dunked her head in it, barely fitting. "oh my..." Emily said. "how ladylike." she joked. Scarlet ignored her. "and you are?" she asked Tupus.

 

[Telios]

"I'm Tupus..." He answered, his ears twitching nervously. He began to worry about Zack and where he went to.

 

[azimuth]

Emily smiled to him. "nice to meet you, Tupus." she caught on to his nervousness. "are you alright? Something wrong?" she asked.

 

[Telios]

"Y-Yes..." Tupus nodded. "A friend of mine isn't back yet... He was gone when I woke up and see you..."

 

[azimuth]

"I could look for him if you like?... I think that's enough for you." she reached for the now half empty jar. Scarlet raised her head from it, honey dripping from it, and screeched at Emily. Scarlet the flew up to a branch with a knot in it, which she used to help support the jar as she dug her beak in again. "ugh. Whatever. Keep it. But I do need the jar back in one piece." Emily said. "anyway, search for your friend? I saw which way he went."

 

[Telios]

"Do you know him?" Tupus asked, getting up.

 

[azimuth]

"all I know is that he has a thing against fast food places. He set fire to one earlier today. He unhooked a propane tank and let it leak before lighting a match to it. Pyromaniac much. He went this way." she stood and walked the way the Tupus and the rest had originally come from.

 

[Telios]

Tyoka nodded and started walking with her.

 

[azimuth]

Scarlet would follow, carrying the jar. He face was a mess of honey. Peppa had been woken by scarlets screech and had been observing... The food Tupus had. Now she realised they were leaving, so she quickly ran from her hidey Hole to catch up. She chirruped as though to say "wait for me!"
