Escapists (1x1) [Telios & Azimuth]

[Telios]

Tupus looked back at Peppa and stopped, waiting for her to catch up.

 

[azimuth]

Emily turned, and was almost instantly sad upon seeing the small creature. Peppa caught up and walked alongside Tupus, opposite Emily. "she's cute. But it's sad knowing why she exists..." she said. "the poor thing...." she whispered to herself.

 

[Telios]

Tupus nodded with a sigh. "At least she's free now."

 

[azimuth]

"yes. But there's only been two of her kind in existence. If the world found out about her, she'd become a target for extinctionists." she began walking again. "they would also come after us. Also the labs want us back. But, I have found a place who takes in our kind. Though they are still pure bloods and want to study us, they use humane methods, and not against our will." she giggled. "one of my best friends is a short-eared owl. I think he and her would get along great." she gestured to scarlet. "it's an old lab facility that was abandoned. They fixed it up so it didn't seem the same as the normal labs... All experiments are welcome, provided they mean well."

 

[Telios]

Tupus nodded as he looked around. "That sounds... Good."

 

[azimuth]

"you're welcome to come. So are you and you." she pointed to peppa and scarlet. Peppa paid no attention to her. Her gaze was still drawn to the plastic container in Tupus' hand.

 

[Telios]

Tupus nodded and sighed, continuing to walk. He heard choppers in the distance but they aren't close enough to be a threat.


A while later... "Hey! I think I saw something there!" Tupus said, pointing at the building in the distance.

 

[azimuth]

"well, there's the town over there." she pointed off in the distance. As it was still night, she could spot the light pollution cast by the street lights. "but no bird kid in sight.... Nope, there he is..." Zack would be running with his wings at full extension. He appeared to be trying to take off, but only flew for a few metre before he let gravity take over and he landed running again. "I see... Did you know him while you were in the labs?"

 

[Telios]

"Well kinda. I passed him through the gates to the test chambers. Eventually I started to talk to him and Scarlet, which eventually lead to me, them and a few others to escape the lab that we were in. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't that bad staying there but..." Tupus sighed. "I felt jailed in there. And there's something bugging me too. As if I missed or forgot something..."

 

[azimuth]

Emily's jaw dropped and she stared at Tupus in disbelief. "it wasn't that bad? Those people are horrible. What they have done to us in our whole lives is inhumane. I don't know how you were treated in your labs, but I was.... It's too hard to think about. I was pumped with strange chemicals and they made me feel sick. It was hell in those labs. We were kept prisoner there, that's why you felt jailed - you were."

 

[Telios]

"I'm just... Confused." He groaned before continuing. "I don't even remember what they did to me... I might have been just an obedient puppy to them or something." Tupus looked away, his ears folded against his head, tail tucked between his legs. "I was just a toy, a tool for them to use..."

 

[azimuth]

"we all were toys to them. Nothing more. Not even tools. Most likely, if you don't remember what happened, you were probably treated the same as us. Thank Glaux we're out of there. Now you know you have somewhere to go to to get away from them. And make some new friends." she looked at him, noting his body language. "relax. Eat. While it's still a little bit warm. And you. Gimme my jar back." she looked up to scarlet. Who swiftly... Ignored her.

 

[Telios]

Tupus sighed and continued to walk to the town. "I'm not hungry. Let's go." He mumbled something as he walked, the plastic box in his hand. His ears and tail laid where they were, showing signs that he still felt sad about himself.

 

[azimuth]

"your friend is that way." she said, pointing the opposite direction of which Tupus had been walking. She then proceeded to head towards where Zack was trying to fly. Peppa went to follow Tupus and scarlet flew from the trees, jar in talons, towards Zack.

 

[Telios]

Tupus stopped and turned around. "All I do is troubling him... Why should I even go over to him..." He mumbled in a sad, almost monotone voice. Being isolated from people made him moody and easily depressed, also making it hard for him to make friends and such. He stood there before walking to a tree and sat down. The plastic box was set next to him on the ground while he hugged his knees close to him.

 

[azimuth]

Emily looked back at him, and frowned. But she said nothing as she continued towards Zack. Who she found out was gliding rather fast towards her when she turned around. He spear tackled her, then pinned her to the ground by the neck.

 

[Telios]

Tupus lowered his head, not speaking anything.

 

[azimuth]

Zack was choking Emily as she tried to free herself. "who are you." demanded Zack. Peppa and Scarlet acted to stop Zack. Scarlet landed on his back, and took off again when zack was tackled by the small gryphon. Zack was pushed off of Emily and she rolled over, catching her breath. Peppa planted herself between them, facing zack. She let out a fierce, almost deafening screech one would not expect from such a small creature. Zack stood and began to walk towards Emily again, but peppa moved to stay between them. She screeched again.

 

[Telios]

Tupus looked over to the fight and slowly got up, grabbing the plastic box before walking over. "Just stop fighting. She is an ally that we can trust." He said although still looking a bit down.

 

[azimuth]

Emily recovered quickly. Most of the human/avian success subjects do. "and how did you come to that conclusion?" Zack asked, gaze never leaving Emily as she stood. "well, your friends all seem to already trust me. And they are right to trust me, because I am no threat. Honestly, I could have easily beaten you just now." zack scoffed. "right. Prove it." he assumed a fighting stance. "hay, kiddo. I got this, don't worry." Emily said to peppa. She moved aside. "let's make this interesting. If I beat you, which I will, you come with me to haven." Emily said. "if I win, you leave us alone." "deal." they said in sync. "ladies first." Emily said with a smirk.

 

[Telios]

Tupus backed up and sat down far away from them. He sighed and looked around their surroundings.

 

[azimuth]

Zack was the first to charge forwards. He lunged at Emily's face with a fist, and missed completely. Emily moved swiftly out of the way, managing to get behind Zack. Zack perform a roundhouse kick, which Emily caught with ease. She twisted his foot, and zack spun in the air. He tried to kick her on the way down, but she had backed off by then. Zack hit the ground. "I win." Emily said happily. "do over. I wasn't ready." zack said, getting up quickly. "whatever you say. Miss whenever you're ready." Emily taunted. Zack bit the bait and charged Emily fell low, and went to kick zacks legs out from under him. But zack jumped over the kick, he smiled. He had her. All he had to do was twist and swing a punch down at her. Then his face met Emily's pure white wing, and zack promptly faceplanted the grassy ground. "I win. Again." Emily said, just as happily as before. Zack sat out a mixture of grass, dirt, and feathers. "shall we go?" peppa leapt happily and Scarlet seemed to puff up a little. "traitor..." Zack said, glaring at scarlet. "well, you made a deal. Onward to haven!" Emily called.

 

[Telios]

Tupus didn't even mind the fight. He was watching their surroundings before getting up once they're done. "Let's go." He said and started walking with the plastic box in hand.

 

[azimuth]

And so they set off. It was a long walk. It would be morning by the time they arrived at the seemingly normal looking town. A small town at that, not the same one from earlier. "welcome to haven." Emily said, gesturing to what appeared to be a ghost town.

 

[Telios]

"Is it all underground?" Tupus asked Emily, his tail idly wagging from side to side. No one was there, making it hard for him to believe that this place is 'heaven'.
