Fandom Edge of the Empire and the Age of Rebellion

The was tossed about as fire burst against the Gamorreans shields and she grasped on to the chair to save herself from being thrown out of the chair. They had taken a few hits by the time Pash had the hyperdrive up but as soon as it was she jumped out of the system to the co-ordinated provided by Muraga.

"Well done Pash." She said and grew concerned when she got no response. She jumped up and ran towards the hyperdrive engine, he was flat out on the floor unconscious. She moved to his side, doing her best to move him in to a comfortable position. Once he was flat on his back he unbound his arms and collected her med kit. She had a few bacta patches left and she applied them with care. She wouldn't be able to move him to his bunk so she sat on the floor by him, still concerned there could be some internal damage so she didn't want to leave him alone whilst he was still unconscious. She read on her datapad for a while before also falling asleep against the desk.

Pash woke to find himself on the floor of a ship, he wasnt entirely sure how he got there. He looked around to see Ardana, datapad just in hand, sleeping against a bulkhead. He gave her forhead a quick kiss and scurried to his bunk, hoping no one had noticed. Upon returning to Vanquor Muraga was pleased, he rewarded them well but had no use for the ranger.

"ZAP"

And that was the end of it, Muraga had some other work for them, but that would come later

She woke some time later with an ache in her neck from the uncomfortable way she had fallen asleep. Her first thought was to check on Pash but he had already gone, so she relaxed. She rose and returned to the flight deck, moving slowly through the ship. She landed back on Vanqor once again the nervous shakes racking her form. She held herself together as they gathered their prisoners and took them before Muraga.

She glanced at Pash before moving in to the large hall where his Excellency lay in wait. They were led in by a toydarian, who introduced them to the Hutt who beamed down at them. Ardana performed the same little curtsy she had at the ball, and once more it served to please.

"We bring gifts. The man you requested and the ranger who caused all of your troubles." She informed him as Arlak and Jayne pushed their prisoners forward, both falling on their knees in unison before the Hutt. He ordered the death of the imperial ranger, something that visibly pleased the Gamorrean crew. They returned to the ship, Muraga was a powerful contact and his friendship would come in handy in the future. But for now Ardana was happy to be away from him. They relaxed a little before taking off again, everyone was tired or hurt and they all needed a little time to themselves. Ardana moved to find Pash, leaning against the doorway.

"Can I come in?" She asked softly.

She moved in, leaning against the far wall. Waiting a long moment before she worked up the courage to speak.

"Thank you." Here eyes were on the floor, as though she couldn't bring herself to look in his direction. "For coaxing me out of there. I'd still be in Imperial custody if not for you."

His voice caught in his throat, maybe this was what he thought?

"I'd do it again, and id like to thank you for keeping me alive"

He moved over and held his hand on her arm, just missing the scar that had formed

She smiled, an actual smile and her eyes moved up to meet his beautiful violets. She rested her other hand atop his, almost forgetting herself for a moment. But she seemed to remember suddenly and dropped her hand back to her side.

"How are your arms?" She said, stammering a little as she spoke.

He brushed a hand down her cheek

"A little sore, but they are healing, how about you?" he was trying not to stammer but it was so damn hard

She turned her head away from his touch. Trying to remain aloof even though she wished for nothing more than to just fall against him. She nodded.

"I'm fine. Once we get this cargo unloaded on Ord Mantell I'll be a lot better." She said once again looking away from him.

Oh, obviously not, not in love with him then.

"Good"

Taking his arm away he strode off to the simulators, arms shaking, not with anger this time

It was time to sleep, maybe some meditation.

She watched him walk away, waiting until he vanished around the corner. When he had gone she slammed her fist against the wall.

"Damn you Tarkona." She muttered to herself rubbing her eyes before returning to the flight deck. She remained awake for most of the journey Using Muragas name as she had been told to to get a landing spot. The hand off of the cargo went without a hitch and they decided to move to the Cantina for a drink.

They found a place named Qexi’s, it was a dark drab place filled with the dregs of the galaxy. Most of the current flock of customers consist of Humans, but there are also many aliens there too. They felt as though they blended in with the crowd well. It made a nice change.

It was at that point a woman entered the bar, a thin, tall woman with an almost political appearance to her. She smiled at Pash who was at the bar, so he decided to chat to her, not as if any other woman was interested in him at the moment and anyway it was only friendly.

"So how can i help you?"

"Well some thugs stole my ship, and im looking for passage to Yavin with some holodisks that i know are still on that ship"

"Well given the right price im sure i could have my crew sort that, if youll pardon me" Flashing her a smile he walked to the table "bit of local trouble guys, maybe now we can get some honest work"

Its quiet, relaxed and they all enjoy each others company. Ardana looks up, in the direction od a woman who is surveying the crowd, their eyes meet and Ardana knew she was about to bring them trouble. She was tall blonde and dark eyed. She wasn't local the Twi'lek could tell by the quality of her clothes. She bade a bee line for Pash who was standing at the bar.

“Any chance you’d be interested in helping a girl in trouble?” Ardana glared at her and Arlak kicked her under the table. She looked at the Trandoshan and folded her arms grumpily. Pash moved over to them.

"I don't know about honest." Ardana retorted but could feel he glare from Arlak so hastily hushed. "Fine. What?" she said giving in to them

"This lovely lady would like us to get her ship back, the bandit camp is in a Mesa a few klicks north of here and we can probably make it there before nightfall, sound good?"

Ardana just stared, but the others agreed with enthusiasm, it seemed like good work.

Hopping in a rented speeder they headed off to the mesa, Ardana giving the lady death-stares the entire journey, it wasnt like her, He knew she hated women but she was an employer now, there was no need for it.

The mesa itself was high, and looked forboding, but Pash climbed, Dovahkin a few feet below, hopefully there would be no comli-

*ZAP*

Oh BLAST IT

Ducking as the first blaster shot flew over head she grinned. That I told you so look on her face. She glared at the woman who she now knew as Renci.

"What the kriff have you gotten us in to?" She accused, looking up to find the source of the shots. A small dug out in the side of the mesa. And Pash and Dovakhin were half way up. She couldn't get her own shots in so watched and prayed. She swore she would kill this woman if anything happened to Pash.

Using his legs and one hand to brace himself he slung his rifle up and fired away, almost hitting the men inside the outcrop who had started shooting at him. Then he felt the rope snap taught.

"what the..." in what can only be described as a ropeswing Dovahkin had launched himself at the outcrop, almost loosening Pash from his perch. His stupidity was only matched by the thunk f him hitting the outcropping, and falling to the ground in what can only be described as the stupidest swing of all time.

Jayne however had a better plan.....

"They are going to fffall" Arlak hissed. and she nodded. It was beginning to look that way. Dovakhin swung at the outcrop and almost made it. It was almost impressive, until the furry mass slammed in to the side of the Mesa. Arlak fell over, laughing harder than she had ever seen him laugh before.

"Oh god Jayne no!" To late. The mercenary fired, the grenade landing perfectly in the outcrop and exploding. With a rumble rocks began to fall. Dragging Arlak she moved away.

"Jayne the wookie!" She yelled and Jayne obliged, but only managed to drag Dovakhin half clear before the rockslide covered him. Arlak burst out laughing once more and she shook her head in despair.

"REALLY? NOW IS THE TIME?" Pash shouted down as he ascended, slowly but surely this time, making it to the top of the mesa. Inside he could see a large base, with a.... was that a BTL-A4 Y wing? dont see much of those outside the rebellion, maybe this job was better than he thought.

Bandits swarmed the camp, but obviously thought that they had been dealt with, Jayne and Arlak appearing next to him seemed to instantly pick targets, while the others seemed content to stay down on the ground (Well Dovahkin was busy being knocked out) but luckily they were able to take a group each.

"Ready, aim, FIRE"

Ardana Pulled Dovakhin from the rubble, struggling with the larger rocks. She rounded on Renci who was still looking bewildered by the speeder.

"Will you stop standing around wasting air and help me." She snarled, making the woman jump up and hurried to help. "What the hell have you gotten us in to." She muttered to her as they pulled Dovakhin away, dragging him on to the speeder. She looked him over quickly and he had no real injuries just bruises and a mild concussion, he would be fine. She moved to the mesa, climbing up to join the others who seemed to have just finished a gunfight with a group of bandits. "Everyone ok?" She asked quickly evaluating the situation. Wait was that a Y-wing?

"I knew it!" Once more she rounded on the woman. "And why would an 'explorer' have a Y-wing bomber?" She hissed, her green eyes narrowed.

"It isnt a bomber Ardana, check it closely" Pash showed her as they explored the camp, the thing was a wreck, unsalvagable, but it was a Longprobe, not a bomber, certainly rebel, but no need to bother with that yet.

"See? No bomb bay, no ion turret, it is just a recon or exploration ship, not a bomber at all"

The look on Ardana's face could have melted Hoth in seconds

"okay Renci? i think your ship is ruined, but we could get that stuff out of it by the looks of things"

Renci spent some time inside, but all Pash could do was look at Ardana and wonder what she was thinking to herself

She glared at him, beside her she could hear Arlak's nervous intake of breath. Why the hell was he standing up for her? What did it matter, she was still a rebel and she had still lied to them, led them in to danger. Arlak placed a clawed hand on her shoulder and she seemed to relax a little though there was still a look of anger written over her features. The Twi'lek and the Trandoshan moved away, moving to explore, looking through the tents.

"What?" Arlak asked stopping her, making her look around at him.

"She's a lying Rebel. we could have been killed because she lied to us and he is defending her!" She sait, her voice getting a little shrill towards the end of her sentence. Arlak shook his head and patted her on the shoulder. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but he knew how to calm her, and for that she was grateful.

"But we are alive sssstill. Sssso no harm." She nodded, but her calm line of thought was broken by the sound of blaster fire, the other bandits had returned.

"So Renci how long have you been a rebel?"

"I dont know what you mean Mr Odir"

"Pash please, now if youll just see this" Moving back he loosened his armour and showed his left breast

"That, thats a........" Hands grab for a blaster, Pash rushed fowards to stop her, hands keeping her blaster in the holster

"I deserted, look it isnt much of an issue for me anymore"

"You were behind all those deaths on Eriadu!"

"I deserted before that mission, i couldnt do what they planned"

"You were the Captain then, we looked for you"

"Yeah i dont like being found, i took some time out" He looked away, he had found someone he loved, but maybe now was the time to move on

"Well we could always use a good Captain, with your skill maybe higher"

"You know, ill think about it" and he would, looking up into the sun as the others returned

Ardana and Arlak ran out of the tent. Walking towards them was another huge Trandoshan and several other bandits all armed to the teeth. Arlak shoved her away, his rifle raised.

"Get Passsh" He ordered and she didn't hesitate. She ran as fast as she could, rounding the corner her eyes landing on the pair. She felt a lump rising in her throat as she saw Pash and Renci standing extremely close together. No not now, she couldn't think about it now.

"More bandits coming over the ridge." She said, her voice cracking a little. She turned back and vanished again, her eyes a little moist. But she held herself together, she'd been so over emotional the last few days and she just needed some time to pull herself back together. But she didn't have that time now. The bandits were firing on Arlak who had taken cover. She joined him, adding her blaster fire to the fray, determined to take out her anger on their attackers.

"Down Renci!" pushing her behind a crate Pash drew his old blaster rifle, firing wildly, he was glad they were all together. Watching Arlak destroying bandits was something that Pash would never get tired of, but finishing off the boss was satisfying as hell. Arlak found it less funny...

"PASHHHHHHHHHH"

"Sorry Arlak!" He wasnt sorry, whoever got the kill ended the threat, and they needed to end threats before they could hurt them, hurt Ardana.....

Luckily it wasnt long before the bandits were all dead and Pash was able to remove the Leader's head with a vibrosword he had bought back in town.

"Okay Mr Odir, i have what i need, lets go back to town"

Slowly helping other people over Pash became more tired, then as climbing down he pulled a muscle in his arm, slowly realising his body had taken too much punishment he fell to the ground, unconcious again.

Ardana watched as Pash creased in pain and fell, luckily there was't much further to fall, but the rocky landing would have been painful. She wordlessly got Arlak and Jayne to lift him, carrying him to the speeder. Dovakhin was recovering and grumbled that he was fine to fly so they loaded pash in to the back of the speeder. Ardana thought she heard something, so she moved to investigate. There was a Twi'lek, a deep purple in colour a blaster clutched in her hand. Ardana rased a hand, showing she was no threat.

"Put that down." She said pointing to the blaster. She assumed she was one of the bandits so led her to the speeder, perhaps she would have some useful information. Arlak looked perplaxed as the two Twi'leks climbed in to the speeder but decided to keep quiet. As Dovakhin flew them back to town Ardana checked Pash over. He seemed fine, just exhausted and bruised. Of course she was worried about him, but she was also still annoyed at him, so her check over was not as thorough as it could have been.
