Doctor....Who? [CLOSED]

"I suppose insanity would be insanity would be an apt descriptor. This is—of course—assuming it is a someone. Now, if I were playing mind games, I would do my best to stay out of sight all while pulling the strings. Does that sound reasonable to you?"

Ash nodded, gazing about, "But where would you hide?" She asked, her eyes searching the area with a frown on her face, "Not in obvious places...." She muttered to herself, looking to her alien friend, then back at their surroundings

"Correct... So they could be anywhere." Pulling out his sonic, the Doctor set his TARDIS out of sync one second to the rest of the universe. As the box vanished, the Doctor flipped his screwdriver with a grin before shoving it in the pocket of his overcoat. "Right then. Let's find something out of the ordinary!"

Making his way towards the park, the Doctor kept a keen eye out for abnormalities. "So, Ash~ What happens around here? Typically that is, though if you've noticed anything strange that would be good too."

Ash followed him quietly, pulling her hood up instinctively, as she gazed about. She looked toward him and shrugged, "Not much happens.... People wake up, go to work, come home." She replied softly. She looked to the floor, "and ignore me" she muttered quietly to herself

"Well that's rather dull." Stopping in his tracks, the Doctor turned to look at Ash, "Why do they ignore you? You're pleasant, and very pretty." Cocking his head and almost pressing his nose against hers he examined her for a few moments, glancing at her eyes and hair before pulling back, "It isn't your pigmentation is it? That would be awfully rude, and they're missing out on the joy of being your friend. I'm sorry humans can be rubbish, you deserve much better." Grinning he continued, "Which is why I'm here! And will continue being here, well, unless I die. Wellllllllll....that's been known to happen, so I suppose when I really die... Anyway, you get my point."

Ash blushed softly when he called her pretty, wondering if he really meant that. No one had ever called her that before, though the words 'freak' were often used to describe her. She shrugged at him when he questioned her on what it was, not replying and instead watching him, a small smile on her face as he called her his friend. She quietly moved to hold his hand in hers, finding the touch comforting

The Doctor looked down at his hand with a creased brow, momentary confusion playing across his features. Figuring that it was best to leave the situation alone, he made his way towards the park.

"My TARDIS deliberately brought me here---wellllll I hope it was deliberate. If so, that would mean whatever is causing the anomalies should be near by. At least one would hope."

Picking up the pace, the Doctor pulled out a strange device that looked like a hastily put together prototype. Flicking it on, he followed the readings it seemed to be picking up. "How strange, I'm picking up traces of Artron energy... Which seems to be coming from that University?" Gesturing towards a campus in the distance he continued, "Oooo... That's odd..."

Ash held onto his hand as they walked, as if needing the assurance that he was real and that he was there. She sighed softly, looking at him, "Whats....Artron energy?" She asked, tilting her head in confusion as she followed him

"Oh! Right... Yes, well, it's essentially... Hmmm. All right. Artron energy is time energy... sort of. However, it's much more complicated than that."

Ash nodded, "Ok..." She said softly, giving him a small, shy smile as he explained it. She hummed softly to herself, looking about

With an excited grin that seemed to play across his face from nowhere, the Doctor made his way towards the University's entrance. People were everywhere; it must have been between classes. Biting his lip, the Doctor leaned against the cast iron front gate, looking back at Ash, "We'll have to wait until classes start. There's too many people to head an investigation right now. So! Ash~ Do you go to school still?"

Ash stayed close to him, making sure her hood was up, scared of other peoples reactions. She looked down as he mentioned school, "I uh...got kicked out of the last one....never went back" She mumbled, "I mean, it wasn't a fight but.... I suppose at the end of the day I was beaten up and so was the other guy, who was the teachers kid, and I was the one who ended up leaving...." She muttered to herself

"That's rubbish." Looking at the girl with furrowed brows, he then focused his gaze on the hustle and bustle of students. "When did you leave? Year 12? 13?"

Ash nodded quietly, keeping her gaze on the floor. SHe was trying to block out the sounds of the talking students that swarmed around the grounds, closing her eyes

Ash shook her head, " 'm fine" She said softly, not looking at anyone and staring at the floor as if it was far more interesting

The Doctor twisted his features into a frown and spoke softly, "All right..." Standing around for another minute, the Doctor watched as the crowd dissipated. The last trickle of late students went by before the courtyard was completely vacated. Turning around to look at Ash, he smiled warmly at her and extended a hand, "Everyone is in class now. Would you like to come look around the campus with me?"

Ash nodded and looked up at him finally, taking his hand quietly. She stayed silent, glad that the campus had gone quiet.

Raising a brow at the hand, yet still saying nothing, the Doctor made his way into the main building. Furrowing his brows, he noticed a lot of student government advertising, but nothing in particular seemed out of the ordinary, "Hmmm. I wonder if there's any labs around here. You know, science-y stuff."

Ash shrugged and gazed about. Spotting a sign down the hall, she quietly let go of the doctors hand, "Wouldn't it be quicker if we split up?" She asked

"Quicker, sure, but it could be dangerous! I mean, I don't know what's around here. Though, I guess it is a school and people come here all the time... on second thought, if you think it's best, we could split up. Oh! But... before we do, could I have your cell?"

Ash nodded, and quietly searched her pockets until she brought out a rather simple phone, and offered it to him, not really questioning him. If he needed the phone to do something, then she had no arguements if it would help stop the thing that was playing games

"Brilliant! All right now..." Bringing out his sonic screwdriver, he pointed it towards her phone for a brief moment, activating it, then handing her the phone back, "Now you can call anywhere in the galaxy! Or any when! Most importantly though, you can call me. See! Isn't that lovely?" Placing his hands in his pockets he looked around with a frown, "Have you ever been on this campus before? I'm not sure where to look. Some place out of the way, or suspicious, I would assume."

Ash blinked, quietly taking her phone back and slipping it into her pocket with a silent nod. She watched him, tilting her head, "Not on this one….but there has to be somewhere around here" She replied, glancing about

"Hmmm... I'd ask a local, but it seems they're all in class right about now. Well, now would be the time to split up, though if you don't feel comfortable... well, up to you! Now...." Rummaging through his pocket, the Doctor pulled out a strange device, "This should help. Though, if whoever is responsible is intelligent, this may not actually help. We'll find out soon enough!"

With a grin, the Doctor began to march in the direction his device was indicating he should be heading towards, "Seems this way is promising."
