Fantasy Department of Defense Against the Supernatural

Greyston stumbled backwards, his silly hat falling off, and glared back at the ghoul. What was his problem? Greyston almost wondered if the boy recognized him. He looked different, but time hadn't changed him drastically over the years. Actually, thinking about it, Greyston would almost be surprised if the boy didn't recognize his face now that it was revealed- if he had seen it back then, anyway. "Fine, look, I'm gone. Piper... Gallytrot. You two deal with him. If he won't come peacefully, well, you know where I'm headed." Greyston said, leaving to go out to where he knew Bael was buried.

Bael watched him go, the. Turned sharply on the two still left. One human female. The black dog.

Whatever the Black dog did or said, Bael knew he'd have to cooperate. The girl — she was strong but not a problem. When you can't get close enough to your enemy, there's not much you can do.

Then the Dog spoke. "I'm sorry about Annabel."

"You didn't know her." His voice was soft, not quite so angry.

"I knew her well enough," Galleytrot replied. "Bael. I need you to come with us."

He scoffed. "Why should I? I'm needed here."

Galleytrot hesitated, and Piper, standing next to him, began to speak. She said, "That is-"

"You need to come with us," Galleytrot repeated, cutting her off. "And you and I both know you have to go where I tell you to."

It was Bael's turn to hesitate. Then he said, "You'll regret this. I guarantee you will." But he stepped out the door, begrudgingly letting Piper and Galleytrot through and trailing behind. Piper glanced back, then pulled out her phone.

Leave it. He's coming on his own.

:( Okay

Greyston sent back, walking the short distance between himself and the other three. He looked at the spirit, assessing how dangerous he seemed at the current moment before deciding to proceed. "Will he be okay on the plane?"

Piper nodded to her partner as he approached. "I imagine he won't cause any problems when he's on the plane. Let's just get him back to the lower level," she said. "We'll figure out how to handle him from there."

After they arrived at HQ, this was done. Galleytrot escorted Bael to the lower level. It was, essentially, a prison block underground. Several rooms had enchanted glass walls and almost all of them had seals and traps so that the inhabitants couldnot escape. This is what Bael was transported into. He put up no resistance. Instead, he just went in, looked at the couch in the room, and collapsed into it, leering at the ceiling.

Greyston didn't even follow the boy downstairs, he didn't feel as though they needed to speak just yet. Perhaps in a bit he would go down, or later that night. He texted his agents, letting them all know that he was back at the department.

Piper huffed as she sat down at her desk, leaving any concern of Bael in his cell with him. She idly wondered why he hated Greyston, coming to the conclusion that he was racist against vampires, and then why he would listen to Galleytrot. She left that though, and went back to her computer to type up a report.

As some time passes, the symptoms of those infected by the flies begin to worsen, causing those infected to begin to decay in certain areas of their body.

"Ugh, I can't believe that no one's created a spell to help make unpacking go by faster." Said Fred as she placed the last of her books onto the slowly bowing bookshelf. "Moving is the worst", she thought to herself before the near silence was broken by the sound of content purring. Turning to face the source of the sound, a smile played across her lips as she spied Bartholomew lounging languidly on the arm of her worn yet comfortable sofa.

"I'm jumping in the shower before I head off. Is there anything that you want?" She said to the seemingly dozing cat. "Fresh catnip if you can manage it luv." He replied as she meandered her way to the bathroom shedding off layers of clothing as she went. Then in a disgruntled tone he mumbled, "And I'm not picking those up either." Turning up his nose at the trail of clothing.

Time had already passed, and Justin and William already worked out the details of the plan. They had to get close to the god, recognise him, as he was in human form, and then get even closer to jam that bone weapon up his heart, while reciting an incantation. Piece of cake, teoretically. They would have to make time to get this thing going. Melody said he would help aswell.

William just got back from the underground prison where he saw the poltergeist. He was curious as what a spirit looks like, and Bael seemed interesting to watch. He seemed mysterious, even though he was just a kid in appeareance. He must have had great ammount of power too, if they had put him on the underground level. Only the dangerous ones end up here. Getting back, he passed by Corin's office, where he sat down and gave him the report of the recent Gashadakuro case. ''So, seems we both handled a spirit'' he said to Greyston. ''Was yours any fun?'' @KattRai

Meanwhile, Justin had passed his time playing along with Melody. He was entratained at how this little elemental could mimic any sound or music and Melody seemed to enjoy his glowing gray eyes-thing aswell. As he went along the corridor, Justin was heading to see the tech part of the building when another vision struck him. His head started hurting like hell, and before his eyes visions started pouring again.

There were quick flashes, pieces of future and present premonitions....he saw evil approaching, dark smoke over the daylight of their cause, he saw golden fangs unfolding, going against the flesh of the innocent. He saw a great plague which brought dead and suffering, and a old being laughing as he watched people die.

Falling on the floor of the corridor, Justin released a shout as his visions stopped.

"Are you alright? All of the sudden you went away. Are you alright?" Melody asked Justin. It had decided to follow him- at least for a little while, and was concerned by the sudden shouting.

Corin thanked William for his report, and followed up with, "No, mine was most certainly not fun. But I should have taken care of him long ago.

Piper took a breath and stood up, finishing her report before deciding to head down to the cell block. She did this occasionally, mostly to make sure everything was in order after a capture.

Bael was still laying on his couch, but by now the rest of the room had been taken apart. Piper caught his attention as she passed, but he didn't sit up. She texted Greyston. Looks like he's been properly put up.

''Oh so you got history together huh?'' William said as he went through the details of the report. ''Altough, I am sure he didn't put quite the fight of a 9 feet tall skeleton spirit, that sucked blood and pulled skeletons out of people'' he added grinning, then showed Corin the huge wound he got on his arm when he was fighting the Gasha. Then, something suddenly popped in his mind. ''Ah before I forget. I might have a new recruit for you. His name is Justin and he is the reason I am alive right now, and not skeleton chow. He appeared at the scene of the crime, saved both me...and'' Here he stopped. He wasn't going to give away Melody. ''Me...and the soldiers'' he saved himself. ''He's a Nephilim and I think his skills could do well'' @KattRai

Opening his eyes, Justin smiled to reasurre Melody, even though his head was still hurting like hell. ''I am okay, Melody. It's just a specific ''gift'' i struggle with everyday. It's ok.'' he added trying to get up then sat on a nearby seat. ''So, you're coming with us on the god case, kiddo?''

"No, he certainly didn't. But he can definitely shove you around." Greysto said with a smile. "And no, I used to live up that way, and heard stories about the haunting back when I got started." He shrugged. "So you defeated the thing for good, then?" He asked, turning the topic back to William.

Melody nodded, an exaggerated nod one usually only sees in cartoons.

"So. What's this then, a social call?" Piper turned to see Bael standing at the window, arms folded. "Or just going to stand there with that..." He frowned, looking at the cell phone, then ignored it. "...For no reason?"

Piper turned toward him, trying to think of a response. She put her phone in her pocket. "I was just coming down to make sure you were dealt with."

"Good of you," he said flatly. "I'm fine, thanks. I've already tried to get out. I'm stuck." He paused, staring at her with an unusual expression. "What are you even doing in men's work? Just here for the leech, I assume?"

Piper frowned at him, then it occurred to her what he meant. "Greyston's my partner. We do work together."

Bael scoffed, glaring at her. "Fang-banger."

"What?"

"Fang-banger," he repeated slightly louder. "It's filthy."

Then it hit her. "Oh, gosh, no. No, we aren't — he isn't– we have a strictly professional situation." She paused. "That's all."

Bael scoffed. "Sure, yeah."

"I'm... Going," Piper finally told her awkwardly before heading back up to talk to Greyston, wanting to look for another case.

''Umm, not really'' William said laying back. ''Apparently Gashadakuros only are replled, never actually killed. So we sorta sent this one on a long trip back to his home, and let's just say it's going to take a while for him to get back'' he said as he slided the raport.

"The first week or two in a new city are always the toughest..." she whispered to herself as she stood in line at the convenience store; waiting on the clerk to finish bagging the groceries and knick knacks of the woman in front of her. "Especially when you've already wiped out nearly all of your savings in the move." Finished Bartholomew in a rather sarcastic tone. Though her immediate response was to give him both a psychic and physical eyeroll she couldn't help but wonder what exactly it was that had drawn her here. Shw was so deep in thought that she hadn't even noticed that the clerk was now, tapping his foot impatiently, waiting on her to place the contents of her basket onto the conveyor belt.

Snapping fully out of her thoughts the payed him before taking up her bags and beginning the short walk back home.

Greysto sighed, and nodded. "If it becomes too much of a problem, we can always lock the monster away downstairs. That's where we usually shove the ones we can't kill- once we figure out how to get them there that is. Anyway... Oh! Dead Man's pinch! Of course, the wife turned into a

Gjenganer!" He said, realizing the solution to a previous case.

As Piper made her way upstairs, Galleytrot joined her. She looked over at her companion. "Something wrong? You're making a face," he observed.

"He's vulgar. I mean, for his time — and compared to Greyston." She looked at Galleytrot. "He called me a fang-banger."

He stared at her, appalled. "Hardly!"

Just then Piper was next to Greyston. "Got any more cases to work on?" She asked.

''I'd say'' William said as he glanced back at Piper and then at Corin. ''A case would be an interesting activity to pass the time until we get back some intel on the Archer'' he said as he leaned forward. ''And you can also test Justin's skills for the job, that way. Any case?''

@KattRai

(Sorry for the 2 one-liner posts, I am currently typing off a phone, and im only getting the laptop back from repairing later today, so until then. Short stuff)

"Right. Lets see." Greyston said, turning to his computer to see what had happened while he was out. The day had gone on long enough for a few new cases to pop up. "Well... it seems half of Detroit taking a sick day was enough to make the news out there. I'm not sure that is anything important, yet... Oh, here we go. A large tree appeared in the middle of Logan's Circle. We aren't sure where it came from or why, it appeared overnight last night. But this morning when some kids went to investigate there was a body embedded in it. That's definitely a case there, maybe Fae? I'd bet something with nature magic. Oh, and here's one. About an hour ago a plane just appeared out of nowhere on the outskirts of the city, down south. No serial number or anything. Thats weird, but there were no fatalities so... your guy's choice I suppose." He said, turning back to look at Will and Piper.

Melody still seemed a bit concerned about Justin, and watched him cope with the vision.

Liliana, meanwhile, decided to stop into a little shop for potions and what not, but sighed when she realized that it was closed temporarily. She assumed the owner had gone out for lunch or something, and decided maybe she should leave. Lilliana wondered if she should go find her dragon friend, then about the bombing that had occurred two days ago. She wanted to help catch whoever was responsible for that one. Then her mind turned to the tree that had appeared out by her apartment. She knew of maybe a few things capable of something like that, but it seemed odd. And why was there a body? Maybe that part was just a rumor.

Fred turns the final corner onto her street her steps faltering ever so slightly as she sees someone standing in front of her shop. Collecting herself she continues one some of her fears of impending poverty assuaged. Approaching closer she clears her throat to get the womans attention. "Are you a customer or a bill collector." She says with a smile before reaching out to Bartholomew through their link. "Bart... Bartholemew!!! I think that we've got our first customer!!!" He replies, "Thats a shock." As usual his tone drips with sarcasm.

"I don't know about you guys," Piper said, glancing between Corin and William, "But I want to go see about that tree. It could be difficult figuring out the individual responsible. I'm going to go check some census records and pool together some possible species that could be responsible. But that plane..." She frowned. "I mean, no one's hurt, but it is interesting. It's just completely undocumented?" she asked, looking at her partner. "No identity at all. Just... an airplane?"

Galleytrot sighed slightly, already bored by the talk, and turned to wander off. He started back down the stairs, and ended up at Bael's cell. He watched the boy for a few minutes, who looked up at Galleytrot's arrival. He wondered somewhat idly if all of the DDAPSETAMI's prisoners got this sort of attention, if it was just because they wanted to make sure he stayed put or if he was just some kind of special.

Then Galleytrot opened the cell door. "Come on," he said, looking at Bael.

"...Were you sent for me?" Bael asked, not moving.

"Nope."

"Then where am I going, exactly?" Bael looked suspicious of the Black Dog.

"To apologize to Piper," Galleytrot replied, gesturing.

Bael scoffed. "The woman from before - the one who checked on me?"

"That's the one." Bael stared at him, defiant.

"...No, I'm not." He glared at the other.

"Yes, you are," Galleytrot folded his arms.

"Not happening. I'm not going." The poltergeist sat down on the couch.

"I'm pretty sure you are," Galleytrot stepped into the room.

"You can't make m-" Just then Bael was jerked up, though Galleytrot hadn't touched him. "Hey-! What-?" Galleytrot turned around, with Bael looking as though the Black Dog had him by the shirt collar. He dug his heels into the floor, leaning all his weight back in an attempt to stay put but couldn't. Galleytrot led with him following in this way. It gained him some very odd looks, but no one said a word.

"Piper?" She looked up from her computer, where she had been looking into nymphs and elder mothers. Galleytrot stood next to her with Bael in tow.

Piper stood up immediately, pusing back her rolling chair. "Galleytrot, what are you doing? He can't be out!" she snapped, more alarmed than anything.

"He can't go anywhere," Galleytrot promised her. "Dragging things like him around is, more or less, my job description. Bael? Don't you have something to say?" He turned to look at the poltergeist, who was now leaning all the way back on his heels, arms folded and leering at the ground before him.

"No." Bael clenched his jaw.

Galleytrot heaved a sigh, rolling his eyes. "Come on. You aren't leaving til you do."

Bael shot him a glare, silent for another minute or so. Piper watched him, still not completely sure she believed Galleytrot.

Finally, Bael broke with an irritated sight and said, "Sorry for what I said earlier. There. Happy now?"

Piper looked at Galleytrot. "You dragged a dangerous poltergeist all through the department headquarters to make him apologize to me?"

Galleytrot nodded. "Absolutely."

Piper scoffed. "Take him back. If he breaks something - or someone - you know I'll be in trouble because you brought him to me."

Greyston had turned to watch the scene unfold, saying little. His office was right across from Pipers, and he thought maybe if he stayed very quiet the boy wouldn't notice him. Once Galleytrot had left, Greyston couldn't help but ask Piper, "So, what did he say to you?" He leaned back in his chair, the picture of relaxation.

Liliana turned to look at the woman who had appeared. "Oh, I'm here to buy something, actually- or at least look around." She gave the woman a soft smile- which would seem out of place on the face she usually wore, but now somehow softened the rest of her appearance and made her almost look friendly.

Piper shrugged sheepishly. "Ah. Nothing important. I don't see why Galleytrot thought it was important enough to drag him all the way up here," she told her partner. "Anything on the tree or the plane?" She was a little eager to move past the topic and didn't exactly hide it well. "On the tree, I was thinking a nymph. Maybe an elder spirit - you know, someone angered it so they turned the person into a tree."
