Fantasy Department of Defense Against the Supernatural

William shrieked as the arrow began to land near him, and for a couple of vital moments he was distracted. Enough for the mysterious dark figure to dissapear. After, he regained his sense, William scoured the other bulidings with his eyes, hoping he would get at least a glimpse of the vigilante. But he saw nothing.

''Curses! Son of a bitch'' he swore as he kicked the ground. He memorised all the details that he saw on the attacker. Dark, hooded, with a big bow. He didn't get to see the bow quite well but he noticed two features: the bow was white, and it had a big red glowing thing in the middle. Well, at least he will be able to identify the arrow, he thought. But as he turned around, he saw to his dismay that the arrow had dissapeared. He felt anger course through him as he closed the back of the van and got in it. He waved to Buwan then started driving madly, in the search of the attacker.

@KattRai is Buwan a Bebarlang? Vampire that essentialy feeds on victim's life force not blood? It's the only filipino type of vamp that I found online)

Allerio landed in an area with few people then he used a speed buff to accelerate his movement speed 3 times. As he was running at roughly 134 miles per hour (216 km/h). He ran until he reached what seemed to be a dead end. But a secret passage was there, which led to his hideout. He let his costume and bow there and changed his clothes to casual ones. He was wearing a green shirt and blue jeans as he came out. If humans would have found his ears wierd he would have just told them he was cosplaying, that's what he thought of initially. But then another idea came to him: he took a pair of pretty big headphones which completely covered his ears. He would pretend that he's listening to music.

5 minutes later , Allerio came out of the hideout like nothing happened and strated walking towards the city center.

Woodbury hopped into the black hawk, sitting opposite Corin and the other woman he had yet to get a name from. Laying his M4A1 between his spread legs, sitting back casually in his seat. He answered Corin's question with. "Kansas accent, born and raised in Topeka." He said, his attention now diverted from the two to the windows at the sides of the helicopter, looking out at the city below them with clear interest. Distractedly asking. "So..what was all that slimy stuff anyway? I kinda missed my first briefing..."

The Black Hawk flew towards the outskirts of the city, in direction for Washington DC, the Department's HQ. A few minutes later the two Little Bird's flying on either side of the helicopter, carrying a few more Assault Team members for simply security purposes.

William drove around the city looking left and right, hoping to find the black clad avenger, that took out Graham and interferred in their business. In a way, it was better. The ghoul was now dead, and he couldn't do harm no more. But catching him or killing him, was the Department's job, not a vigilante's. After looking for a while he gave up and starting driving towards the Department. He'll get the archer other time. He'll definitely show up on some other case. Bored, Will looked at the people he was passing by now. A lawyer, a worker, a guy with huge headphones (@Azure Sky ) probably listening to the new young pop music.

Shrugging, Will stopped in front of the HQ, and got the vamp and the aswang out holding them by the cuffs. Pushing them in, he handled them down the hall...

Buwan had left early on, he wanted to clean things up before they got out of hand, and missed the confrontation with Alliero. He took the bodies- but not to the department morgue like he was supposed to.

Greyston nodded and said, "Kansas it is, then." He didn't have the materials he needed to work on paperwork, so he too let his attention wander to the land below, "That's what's left of the thing we fought." He says.

@KattRai

Woodbury nodded at the reply, turning back to face him when he said `the thing` With a highly confused expression, he said skeptically. "The thing you fought? Right, I ain't the best at biology and all that shit, but I'm pretty sure there ain't no animal or person with that kind uh' blood." He finished, folding his arms as he looked the man up at down, he was begining to question things here, maybe he should've gone to that briefing, might've helped him understand what this guy meant by `Thing`.

"No, it definitely wasn't that's for sure. I'm sure you'll see it on the news tomorrow, maybe tonight even!" Greyston said, with a bit of a laugh at the understatement.

When they finally unloaded back at DC, Greyston was immediately verbally assaulted by the one he had left in 'command' back at headquarters. He learned of all of the recent cases and monitored the activity of organizations that they had been watching. He took it all in. "Luke, what do you know about rapidly spreading narcotic tissue? Do you think you can look into it for me? The victim was around 35, his wife was murdered last year- normal human stuff."

Luke was beside Corin when he asked the question.

Luke yawned. He hasn't slept since they went to New Orleans.

"I'll see what I can find" he said and pulled his hood over his face. He walked to his office. "I may have a full report ready by tonight."

(You've given me quite the challenge here)

Woodbury stared at the exchange between the kid and Corin, his arms folded and his M4A1 strapped onto his back. He looked around the Department's building in a kind of awe, he loved going new places, espically the places that he was going to work from now. He leaned over towards Corin and asked him. "Who's the kid?" In a quiet voice as said kid walked towards a few office looking rooms, one of those presumably his. He had no idea what someone his age was doing here. Hopefully Corin would be able to shed some light on it.

"Also, what you told him sounds like some CSI crime scene shit, what was that about?" He asked also, this place was confusing, things that spewed slime, teens working in government agencies, and they were also some kind of high up police force as well? He REALLY should have gone to that briefing.

"Right, thanks." Corin replied to Luke, he glanced outside and realized the sun was finally setting. He was thankful he only required an hour or two of sleep, and decided maybe he should be resting soon.

He then focused on the question posed to him by Woodbury, "Hmm, usually new recruits get the full rundown on information. Do you not know what the department does, then? It's responsible for any supernatural, paranormal or extraterrestrial activity that could result in the harm of another- specifically humans, because they are the ones who run the government, it seems. But that's politics, I'm sure you aren't interested in those. That 'kid' was Luke Cross. He's our techie expert, you know, research, computer magic, hacking. All that jazz. He looks young, but he's good at what he does, so age doesn't really matter, insofar as I'm concerned, anyway. I'm more involved in the solving of the crime, where your type takes over after we figure out who we are looking for, you know." He says. "That's the quick brief, I'm sure there's more in your email and what not."

William dropped the vampire and the aswang at the bulit-in supernatural prison in the Department Headquarters. ''You monster'' the vampire said as he spit Will. ''I saw what you did back there to Sam. Tearing his eyes out? Nobody deserves that. Hah. And they think I'm a monster. They don't know what a beast you really are, pal'' he said as he rotated around in his cell, glaring at William between the bars.

''You brought this upon yourselves when you started preying on innocent people. That man you all gang-murdered? He had a life. A family. Friends. You nibble on that while you rott in jail with your pet friend Aswang'' he said as he turned around and left.

''BEAST! MURDERER!'' the vampire shouted but his shouts were soon drowned by the sound of Will closing the prison door. ''Stand watch'' he told two guards as he headed for the main office. Passing Corin and Woodbury, he gave them a head-tilt as a hello then sat down next to them, and started filing the report on the recent murder he just stopped along with Buwan.

Of course....without the eyeless details.

@KattRai and whoever else is here I guess

(Also this may be my last post for today, so If i dont replay thats why. Don't know)

The guards nodded, one started to ask about the suspects' accusations, but then figured he was upset about being brought in- they usually were.

Corin gave Will a nod in return. He had heard about the new recruit, as well as a few rumors about why he was really there. Greyston didn't deal in rumors, however, and therefore did not really worry about him. As the day drew to a close, Buwan never returned to the department.

Finishing his report, William slided it on Greyston's office. ''Here's the report. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm heading to bed. You should too. You look like hell. (#notsmooth xD ) he said in his cold, awkard tone then said to himself. ''Human socialization is so hard''. Of course he didn't realise that he said it out loud. Getting a funny look from Corin, Will smiled awkardly and left the room, heading for his assigned beddroom. His human body was feeling weakened, and sleepiness started creeping over him. As William lurched himself on the bed, a brief thought of Buwan flashed through his mind. Could he become a friend to a beast like him? It was possible.

And with these thoughts, he drifted to sleep....

(Well that's it for today. Cya tomorrow. Its past 12 pm where I am now, and I have tests tomorrow. )

Luke went to sleep in his office, and didn't wake up for quite a while. Upon waking up, Luke did a long research on Corin's request, to no avail. Luke patched in to Corin. "Upon research, Narcotic Tissue doesn't exist. I'll assume you were talking about Necrotic Tissue, which doesn't exist either. What's the circumstances around the death?"

@KattRai
(Sorry, that was supposed to say Necrotic tissue, which most certainly does exist. That was a typo. Haha.its tissue effected by necrosis from spider bites, frostbite, gangrene I think, severe diabetes, etc.)

Corin noticed Luke and said, "Oh, right, I meant to send you more details. There was an origin site, but no bite. The infection seemed to spread from the left side of his neck, up close to his face, and spread down to his chest and across. Eventually it hit the heart which ultimately killed him. It just seemed to shrivel up I suppose. He was seeing a doctor about it, but even if they could do anything for it the tissue was dying too fast- unnaturally so according to the doctor, anyway." He paused to sip his blood-infused coffee- a new special at the local coffee bar- and then finished, "We were called in mostly because they are worried about the cause of the infection- plus the wife was recently murdered, so it's always suspicious when their loved ones who were beginning to move on get offed. I'd start with some kind of vengeful spirit of the infection doesn't turn anything up."

(Sorry about the inactivity, been bust lastely -_- . Brief retcon)

Scath and Lilliana had stayed at the river bank for another hour or so before finally heading separate ways. Scath had found the Valkyrie to be quite an interesting study. He liked to refer to some conversations as studies, it was kind of a dragon thing. He had watched the sun set from the mouth of his den before returning to his sleeping chamber, and the gold that lay there in.

(retcon over)

The next morning Scath had set out with no particular location in mind, instead wanting to survey the area around his den. This, of course, took him straight into DC during the morning commute. Scath seemed to float effortlessly over the city. He had flown over the Potomac from Great Falls, now coasting in circles above the nations capital city, causing quite the spectacle. He could see people stopping in mid jog to stare, others, no doubt reporters, were snapping way with cameras and phones. In truth, Scath didn't know what had come over him to expose himself in such a way. Just the day before he had wanted nothing more than to hide. Maybe it was that glimpse he had seen the day before. Had that been another dragon?

Scath finally decided to find a place to set down. He altered his course, heading towards the Washington Monument, landing in the field that stood between it and the WWII Memorial. Scath found himself chuckling slightly as he watched the reporters move cautiously to a spot where they could get pictures, but also to where they were not too close. This city has changed since I was here last, he contemplated as the reporters slowly inched closer. No doubt the news was already out. A dragon had landed in Washington DC.

Will yawned as he woke up from his sleep. It was morning and the usn was shining through the thick window of his room in the Department. Cracking his joints he slowly got up. ''Bloody hell'' he muttered. ''Being a human is so strange'' he said as he got down. ''I'll never get used to it''

As he took some coffee from the vending machine he made his way down to the office, sipping his dark drink. At least something was good in this life. Coffee.

As he entered the halls, William glanced around. People everywhere we're running about, doing their jobs. Everybody had a place in the Department. The tech guys did their techy things. He saw other detectives going out, probably on some supernatural cases. He peeked at the case giving billboard that they got up. Desecrated corpses. Probably ghouls, he thought. Victim found dead in their apartment, huge suction marks on their chest? Nah, somebody was already on it. As he looked around some more, he noticed a single article among the others, its picture being a drawn represantation of dark hooded figure with a bow.

That peeked his interest....The Archer! He interferred last day in Buwan's in his case. And the guy was a dangerous vigilante. Possibly even supernatural. As he took the drawn out photo, he headed for Corin's office and slided the drawing on his desk. ''Morning boss. I see that you're busy and I apologize'' he said in his formal tone. ''But take a quick look at this. Seen it before?''

Luke wasn't the type to overlook information. He wasn't exactly a doctor, so medical terms always confused the hell out of him.

(seriously, medical terms kill me.)

Luke accessed search again via magic from beside Corin, and relayed what he found. "Necrosis is the condition of cells that dies from a lack of blood supply. Gangrene is when a massive amount of tissue dies due to necrosis. Avascular Necrosis is the same thing, but to bones. There's nothing like necrosis spreading. Necrosis doesn't spread constantly, especially if it's treated. It claims an area, then done. If the guy in question was seeing the doctor for rapidly spreading necrosis, then this is definitely not a human case."

Luke knew a thing about spirits. However, skin skin dissolving spirits rung 0 bells. "If the guy was haunted by vengeful spirits, then the guy in question must have committed some crime. We could be looking at any number of spirits, so for now, we shouldn't worry about what type of spirit it is specifically. We'll need more info

Meanwhile, in various regions of Washington DC, four different mafia gangs were killed, throughout a time span of 12 hours. But each murder scene was different. In the first case Allerio killed them as usual, from a mile away on a skyscrapper with his bow, in the second one the gangsters were found in a dismembered state because of Allerio's razor wind magic, in the third one, they were beaten to death as Allerio used his strength buff and stealth skills to do the job. Last but not least, another gang was completely obliterated by an unnatural tornado on a sunny day. Allerio intentionally killed them in different ways to cause confusion.

(Haha, I gotcha, I didn't know how else to describe it without it seeming like Corin already knows what the creature you're dealing with is.)

While Luke was researching some more, Corin looked over Wills request. "Yeah, I know of this case, he's a vigilante- no one's gotten a close enough look for a real discription. He's caused a few problems for us before and we've been tracking him down for a little while now. He usually strikes the guilty- you know back alley justice type- so he's been on the back burner. Recently, however, we've found some of his victims- killed with deadly precision with an unknown projectile, presumably arrows or bolts from a distance- and among them were two local cops. Undercover stuff. I think. He's killed a few who were most likely innocent before, too. Why do you want to know?" Before William could answer, Luke did, and Greyston held up a hand. His attention turned back to Luke.

"Right. I looked into Anita- his wife's death breifly when it happened to rule out the supernatural then and he seemed perfectly normal. Unless he's commited some crime since then Jeremy Garcia is clean- or damn good at making sure no one would question his activities. He was a social worker- you could see if anyone had any complaints with him and died recently... Oh, and I'll send Piper to check his place for hex bags and the like."

''The bastard interferred in our case'' William said as he took the file back and got a good look at it. ''Very well. I see that you are occupied with another case, so I would like to look for the archer, if that's okay with you. Or do you need me here? ''

He noded to Will, indicating a pause in the conversation with Luke, he was a master of holding multiple conversations. "Please, do. I may join you once I'm done here. Who were you working with? I'd like to check the report myself, too. That guys been on my list for a while, but we'd run out of leads."

Woodbury stood with his arms folded behind a large live firing range. Without his kevlar or various other gear on, just in his Mulitcam Rapid Assault Vest, a simularly camouflaged baseball cap on, watching 20 different men, all in Mulitcam, kevlar and with their custom loadouts, IE ammunition packs being in different spots. They were all firing M4's at the range, most if not all hitting their intended targets with extreme precision, after his briefing, he'd found out all he needed to know about the Department, and the strange `creatures` they fought against.

He'd taken the time to get a local blacksmith to manafacture large quantities of silver bullets, and had made a mobile UV light standard issue for his men, the UV light being attached just below the barrel of the weapon. He would be able to figure out how to kill all of the other creatures he'd be facing, but the one thing that bothered him was the fact he wasn't told that if the myths and stories on vampires were true, so he decided to just wait and see if he should order garlic juice or anything similar, he'd have to find out from first hand experience.

He decided to replace the standard M67 grenade with a speical type of incidenary grenade, incase things got a bit hairy with one of these more hostile `Fables` or whatever they called them here. The standard army combat knife was replaced by supposedly enchanted swords made by Vikings against evil spirits and all that. He figured it'd do well enough against them. It was obvious that standard human weaponry wouldn't do much against them.

As the 20 new recruits for the Assault Division began training with their new Ulfbherht swords on test dummies he left the room without another word, the 2 training instructors already far knowing what they were supposed to be doing. He spent around half an hour wandering around the large HQ building, looking for Corin, who he had been told was the head detective.

A few minutes later he had found him talking to the kid from before, he nodded at the two of them. Asking Corin. "Emm, can I have a word?"

Corin seemed to dismiss Luke, feeling that conversation had drawn to a close for now. He then looked from Will to the man- Woodbury was his name if he recalled correctly. "Yes?" He asked, though he was curious about Will's response.

Liliana had gone home wondering about the dragon and missing her homeland.

Zhaine had finished up work for the day and he and his girlfriend went their separate ways.

Piper heaved a sigh as she went back to her office, pleased to be done with that was. She sat down, looking at her partner. "I heard you had something?"
