Right now the interactions of Dorric and Talion would be happening as the rest of the party departs from town square. If you wish to go to Talions forge it would be done while the rest of the party makes their way up the hillside to the temple.


@Chayliel if you do not post by tomorrow I will make a post on your behalf.

Alright, how many arrows would Talion most likely have? in the PHB a set of 20 is 1 gold, so that halved, I figure either 40 for 1 or 80 for 2 gold depending on how many he has. I could also do 60 for 1 gold and 5 silver, assuming that Talion would have 5 silver at his forge to give Dorric in exchange for 2 gold

I would probably say he has about 40-50 arrows at his forge. So one 1 gold would do if Grim is OK with that.

Just to make sure that I'm not confused, Jaks (me, @Yesman) has followed Kelter (@Grimsvald) to the summit. Talion (@Chayliel), Dorric (@Naxtaroth), and Jameak (@Redsirrah) are still in the alleyway.

You may exchange money between characters as you please. If you have a gold to give him for the arrows and he has change in his character sheet. I dont have a problem with that.


I rolled 1d100 to see how many arrows you had in shop. There are 47 arrows. I rolled 2d20 to judge quality. 15 of these arrows are lesser quality.


47 arrows available. Some are poorly made. So when you roll lower than a 10 on attack or score lowest possible damage, you may see some arrows break.


@Yesman yeah thats about right. Jameak hasnt posted either way I think, but I will say he followed Jaks and Kelter up to the temple.

ok, so, I'd just do the 40 for 1 then, 8 of them being poorly made, which I'll denote. Probably use those up first just to get them out of the way. So, I'll mark 1 off of my gold, @Chayliel can mark 1 gold onto his and I'll add in the 40 arrows, 8 of which are poor

Also, I've gotten permission to share an RP I'm DMing... we need 2 more characters... we've got a future aarakocra beastmaster ranger, drow circle of life druid, and human thief rogue... everyone will start at level 1, I just had them anticipate archetypes so that I could play the story around them and get an idea of the overall concept of the team... I'd say a healer and a high HP/Tanky character would fill out those last two slots nicely, though that's not a strict thing of "we need these".... Just look at the roles filled and try to make a character that excels in one or two and then has one or two secondary roles they can sort of fill in in a bind... there's quite a bit of homebrew stuff and some Elemental Evil/ Unearthed Arcana stuff going on, so it's not like super strict 5e, but it's enough 5e that it's considered 5e based. @Yesman Yeah, girls just pulled in a weird beholder into the room. Like they were walkin an old pimp into a house party.


It would take a high history check or arcana check for your characters to know that. You can make insight or sence motive checks on anyone here.

No need to wait on Reds posts. Their character will just stand idle until they return. Hoping our posting picks up pace. We are getting ever closer to the conclusion of chapter 1.


@Chayliel and @Naxtaroth your characters can walk all the way into the temple if they wish. They person who was watching the enterance is now in the center of the temple and they keep their doors wide open unless they are at war.


@Yesman is there anyone else you want to listen in on or talk to?

@Yesman you don't have to worry about being noticed on this one. They are fully involved in their conversation. What you may need is an Intelligence check to understand what you are hearing.

So do each of us now have a watermelon sized emerald, or is it just one for the entire group? Also, is the hunting trap consumable or something that Dorric would set and possibly be able to retrieve if either A) it didn't get set off or B) it got set off but the creature didn't break it.

Each group received an Emerald. That is 1 for Jaks/Kelter/Jameak and 1 for Dorric and Talion.


This is the info I found on the item.


Hunting Trap: This trap is a toothy ring that snaps shut when a creature steps on the pressure plate. When hidden under leaves and underbrush, it's hard to detect. A creature stepping into the trap must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 piercing damage and be restrained. Freeing oneself from the trap requires a successful DC 13 Strength check. Each failed check deals 1 piercing damage.


In my opinion this is a bear trap. Steel, pressure plate, chain and anchor. Unless the creature it is used on intentionally breaks it, you should be able to get it back. Even if they break it you could mend it with some tools or a mending spell.

Damnit, we should have split up and been different groups xD May I mend Dorric's statement about being with Talion to something along the lines of "I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees." rofl jk, I know I can't. And alright cool. Just a tad curious because Dorric is highly highly cautious and I may or may not have him set it up just in side the door once him and Talion are settled in for the night. Certainly wouldn't be hidden, but any unwanted guests may have a nasty surprise about 3 steps into the room xD .

If that persuasion check fails, I'll be honest now Dorric is going to throw in an Adrora snarl and try to Intimidate Talion into letting him keep it xD . Despite his exclusion from society, he is quite fond of shiny things and money xD .
