Dice D&D: The City of Shaldra~Zin

If you attack them from behind I will allow advantage and sneak attack. If you attack one from the front I will need you to roll initiative.

Quick question: May I take 2 gp from my character to have him start with 60 arrows instead of the 20 he'd normally start with under the base ranger equipment? (1gp per 20 in the PHB)... made the character before getting into using starting gold instead of class/background base equipment and would prefer him start with more than 20 arrows.

As much as I would like to see you run out just to see what your character does. That sounds fair enough. -2gold +40 arrows.

I could always just start him with 20, and then have him coming to the city in order to buy more arrows... before he buys them, he could end up running into these undead... it would honestly help with why the heck he'd be going into the city in the first place and would give great incentive for heading toward the forge where 3 party members are currently at. I think I'll do that instead, now that I think about it.

@Grimsvald The smoke said it felt good to kill and Jaks is still pretty mad at being tricked and having to kill the lady. Let the stabby marathon continue!

BTW drawing my dagger would be a bonus action, right? Can I draw my dagger, move to the next zombie, and attack with both in a single turn?

You may sheath or unsheath 1 weapon as a free action attached to you move action OR your attack action. If you wish to unsheath or sheath another weapon you need to use a bonus action. You may not sheath or unsheath two weapons at a time unless you have the two weapon fighting feat. I think two weapon fighting style also helps in this situation but I cant remember how.

You could unsheath your dagger in a free hand while moving. Then attack with a rapier and off hand dagger. Then use your bonus action to sheath the rapier. This would let you pull out another dagger next turn. Then you would be duel daggers next turn.

If thats what your going for.

I was thinking of a rapier + dagger combo. I'm out right now so I'll just look it up when I get home. Until then, rapier stabby time!

Another question, is the smoke still trying to invade me? You said the creature died but did you mean the zombie or the smoke?

You can unsheath your dagger as a free action during you movement. You will still get your movement, standard action and bonus action.

You need to make a Con save against the smoke. Its like a spell that cost the enemy HP to cast it. So casting it killed the caster.

How many hitpoints did you have? I dont remember you taking much damage since we entered town.

You'd be knocked out. Succeeding at death saving throws would bring you back to 1hp. Failing saving throws can kill you.

Also i dont believe you are adding all your mods to your attacks. It should be Prof+Dex Mod + d20 to hit. Then damg dice + dex mod for damage.

You can only add your prof to a main hand attack unless you get two weapon fighting feat. I think...

@Yesman at level 3 your HP should be about 20.

Starting HP for a rogue is 8+con mod. Which for you was 1. So you started with 9hp. Then you gain 1d8 ( or 5hp ) per level. Your choice if you want to roll or take the average.

You HP should have been full when we entered Bexely but I honestly cant remember if you took damage in that original fight out in the courtyard.

Okay, so I'm not dead/knocked out yet. How did I miss my level up, did we get one after the bandits we met earlier (I've already forgotten their names)? Since I'm level 3, I should be able to pick an archetype, right?

Before we left Shaldra~Zin everyone leveled up two times that way we could choose our archetypes. Yes, you can have advantage on attacking the husband.
