Kain felt Astrid stirring as she snuggled into his chest. He'd been slowly working on fixing his relationship with both Astrid and her wolf. It was going great with Astrid, but her wolf was still very much against him. He had an idea on how to try and convince her wolf that he was sorry, but how to get away from her to try it? He shifted himself, holding Astrid tighter. "Good morning love" He said softly.
--
Jay was snuggled into Eric's chest, she stirred with a groan, trying to stretch herself. It didn't end well, only her legs actually moved an inch. She let out a little sigh, before tucking herself back into his chest. Maybe she could snag a little more sleep before he woke up. She heard him mumbling and smiled to herself, he was perfect to her.

Astrid groggily stretched before snuggling back into his chest "morning Kain..."She just shifted snuggling into him more not wanting to deal with the day

Eric slept for at least another half hour before waking up and groaned but purred tiredly "good morning Jay.." He was pretty much wrapped around her, keeping her tucked tightly.

Kain looked down at Astrid as she snuggled into him more. He ran a hand through her hair, a smile on his face. "How'd you like to go for a walk today?" He asked, even though she seemed content to stay curled into his chest.
--
Jay yawned, she'd managed to grab some more sleep before she heard a tired purr. "Good morning Eric" She said softly, purring back in response, feeling like she was wrapped in a blanket with how he'd wrapped been wrapped around her. She didn't want to move, but she knew that he had paperwork to do and she was hungry. Jay smiled at him sheepishly as her stomach grumbled.

Astrid just relaxed into his chest as he ran his fingers through her hair, even mad at him still she loved it. "We can after breakfast..." She however didn't seem interested in getting up.
---

Eric chuckled "your hungry too?" He finally uncurled from around her though it took a little effort as he was also tangled in the blankets. He smirked "at least our stomach's have conveniently well timed hunger together."

He nodded, still running his fingers in her hair. He was content to stay there too, but he knew that they eventually had to get back to the castle. He still had a lot of apologizing to do to Eric. He had been ignoring the paperwork that he was supposed to do pretty much since Astrid had been kidnapped. So that plus the normal paperwork had piling up on his desk when they'd left. He almost ended up falling back asleep, until his stomach grumbled. "Uh, sorry." He apologized, sensing that she didn't seem to want to get up.
--
She laughed and had to hide the smirk as it took him a minute to untangle from the blankets and her. "This is very true, makes it much easier" She said with a laugh, finally able to get off the bed and stretched out her muscles with a small yawn.

Astrid sighed uncurling from his chest hungry but had little interest in getting up to fix her breakfast. She just snuggled in the blanket as he headed into the kitchen just in a strange mood. She was happy and wanted to fix things with Kain but half her personality still wanted to bite him so it was an awkward situation

Eric just grumbled as he heaved himself up, clearly really not wanting to get up for the day. He had point blank refused to do any paperwork the last few days and it had completely piled up on him now and he was gong to be stuck half the day at least on it.

Kain had removed himself from her, heading into the kitchen to fix up some food. He looked over at her, still snuggled into the blanket. He hummed as he finished making their breakfasts. "You gonna hide in that blanket all day or come eat?" He said with a little laugh, a smile on his face. Unfortunately, they were running low on food, again. He sat down, after pulling out her chair, and took a sip from his stein.
--
Jay looked over at him, she knew he'd been putting off paperwork, and she could see he wasn't too happy about doing it all today. "Let's go eat, then we can worry about the paperwork in Kain's office" She said, taking his hand.

Amira just mumbled “the blanket.” She was really beginning to have a hard time with half her mind at war with her. Her wolf was angry. 1. That Amira hadn’t let her out on a few days even after her last threat to Kain and 2. That Kain thought everything was suddenly going to be okay again like he didn’t attempt to abandon her. She finally stood though just wrapping it around her as she headed to the kitchen.

-

Eric just smiled softly with a nod not even willing to argue the subject about doing it with her. He walked beside her into the dinning hall and sat beside her

Kain saw her make her way over to the table, blanket wrapped around her. He placed a hand on her shoulder. "You need to let her out" He said gently. He hoped his plan would at least start mending the bridge between him and her wolf. He only had a piece of toast for his breakfast where he'd made her the last of the eggs in the fridge.
--
Jay sat down at the dining table, pancakes and waffles were on the menu this morning. She filled her plate and poured some water in her stein. "I'll never get used to how good the food is here" She said, after taking a bite of a waffle.

Astrid just sat quietly “she still wants to bite the crap out of you Kain… she’s still upset… I’ve let her out when you aren’t around.” She ate her eggs but was still hungry and sighed “I’m gonna have to though she’s still hungry.”

Eric chuckled softly “we’ve been spoiled our whole lives… I don’t know what I would do without her here.”

He looked over at her. "I know she does, but as we've seen, not doing anything doesn't work. Let's take that walk, let her out" He said, knowing that her wolf was still very much upset with him.
--
Jay looked over at him with a smile as she finished her breakfast. "Hopefully she never leaves" She said, finishing the water in her stein.

Astrid just sighed but didn’t have the energy to argue and just nodded softly “okay..” she mumbled setting her plate in the sink

Eric chuckled “from my understanding she doesn’t ever plan to. She’d have to fight her way out of her I’m not letting her go.”

Kain put his dishes in the sink as well. "I'll meet you out there?" he said, giving her a hug and a kiss on the top of her head. His plan would work only if he got out into the woods first. He didn't want to let her go, but he had to work fast. Kain let Astrid go and headed out the door with a smile. Once he was outside, he made his way to the woods, quietly. Ever since he'd first had the deer, he could faintly pick the scent of them, and he'd been slowly practicing every outing to get better. When he locked onto it, he crouched and moved quietly, seeing the herd and a small one near the back. Perfect. Kain went to lunge, and instead of grabbing the deer and bringing it down, he received a kick to his chest, sending him stumbling back. He hoped she didn't see that.
--
Jay smiled, "I can see it now" She said with a laugh. Eric trying to hold her here, and whoever her mate was trying to drag her away.

Astrid followed him outside shortly afterwards quickly catching onto the deer herd’s scent and stalked through the brush. Her wolf completely ignoring wherever Kain had vanished off to until he appeared and lunged at the very deer she was going for which sent them scattering. Her ears pinned with a growl as the herd scattered but tilted her head watching him

Eric chuckled “Kain wouldn’t be letting her go either.” He finished his plate and just leaned back contently

Kain froze, hearing the growl as he went to pick himself up off the ground. "Um, you didn't see that" He said, rubbing the back of his head. Unfortunately, the herd had scattered, but he picked up one scent headed away from them to the right. He crouched again, he'd get it this time! Hopefully. He tried to ignore the fact that he was being watched now, as he finally located the small deer he'd been after before. Okay, here we go. He lunged, this time pinning it down, but it wriggled more than he thought and he was trying to keep it down long enough to kill it though he realized he might be in over his head with this plan of his.
--
Jay laughed. "You two would be lost without her" She said, her stomach full. She knew she'd have to drag him up the office but for the moment, she just enjoyed his company.

Astrid’s wolf stalked forward watching as Kain took down the same deer again but was still unable to finish it quickly as he struggled. She just crouched waiting in case he lost it again, her ears perked in curiosity

—-

Eric chuckled “we would… we’d have to find someone who could cook for us cause we would be doomed.”

Kain had managed to get a bite at the deer's neck, but it kicked him with its hind feet. He huffed, grabbing at the deer who was still trying to get away. Kain huffed. This was way more difficult than he thought it would be. Finally fed up, he took his hands and pinned the thing down, finally getting enough of a shot at the neck to stop it. Standing, he panted, breathless but he'd done it. He picked up the deer and walked over to Astrid, stopping about a foot away. "I know I've messed up, but I'm offering this deer as an apology and to promise that I'll work on fixing myself and be a better mate" He said, setting the deer down, and going on one knee, head down. He had no idea if this would work, but he was running out of ideas.
--
Jaylin laughed lightly, "Don't look at me, I can burn water" She said. Jay would definitely end up making things worse if she ever went into the kitchen. She hated to mess this moment up, but the longer that they sat here, the more paperwork would build up. "We should get started on that mess in Kain's office" She said softly, looking at him.

Her wolf kept crouch ready to save her meal if he continued to fail not willing to lose it. She sat back though when he actually finished the deer off somewhat impressed. Her ears immediately pinned as he walked over but perked as he dropped the deer in front of her and kneeled. She just watched him but slowly sank her fangs into the deer’s shoulder dragging it closer and inspecting it

Eric laughed “noted keep Jay out of the kitchen.” He smirked but frowned when she brought up the paperwork with a sigh “it will be there later..” he grumbled.

Kain flicked his gaze up, but didn't move. He saw her drag the deer towards her. He wasn't sure if she'd take the offering or if she'd bite him like he could tell she'd been wanting to. He wouldn't blame her either way, he deserved it for what he had put the two of them through. He moved his gaze back to the ground again.
--
Jay laughed as well. "Its the safest option for everyone" She said. Jaylin noticed the frown on his face and she looked at him. "The longer you put it off, the longer it's going to take to finish. Besides, I can help" She said, getting to her feet and holding her hand out. "Come on, and think the faster it gets done, the sooner we can relax" She added with a smile on her face.

Astrid’s wolf watched him sniffing the deer like she was still deciding but her hunger got the better of her as she tore into it. A few minutes later she finally sat back eyeing him but her ears finally unpinned seeming like she’d accepted but was still not happy with him.

Eric just sighed but took her hand and let her walk into Kain’s office. He had been ignoring the work for days and it had definitely come back to bite him now

Kain was happy she'd taken the deer. He knew there was still a long road to go, but she didn't have her ears pinned so he'd take it. Kain adjusted himself so he sat cross legged, keep his gaze even and not challenging. Progress was being made, even if it was only a little bit. He knew it would take time but he was happy to wait. "I'm definitely not a hunter" He chuckled as he sat there.
--
Jay walked up into Kain's office with Eric. The stack of papers all over the desk was daunting and Jay had no idea how she could help with this. "Oh boy" She said softly.

Her wolf eyed him giving him a clearly kind of look but seemed amused his first plan was to try and hunt for her as an apology. She just returned her attention to the deer, satisfied when he wasn’t offering any sort of challenging gaze.

Eric sighed as he looked at the stack “ I might’ve been a little angry and not touched it in the last few days…” he just walked into the office, sitting down at the chair and looked at her “I don’t need to drag you into this Jay..”

He could see her look at him. He leaned back against a tree, keeping himself calm as he waited for her to eat. He wasn't sure what would happen when she was done, but he'd try and take it in stride.
--
Jay frowned, she knew that he was angry, and she was upset at Kain for leaving all this for him to do. She grabbed one of other chairs in the room and pulled it up beside him. "Even if I don't understand the paperwork and can't help. I'll be here beside you." She said, placing a hand on his arm. "I know this entire situation isn't ideal, but it could've been a whole lot worse" She added, sending him a small smile.

Her wolf finished a short while later and just lay down cleaning her fur as she watched Kain. She’d left him a small section, the packs way of showing he was still on her ‘bad’ side but was doing well enough to earn some food.

-

Eric smiled softly “thank you Jay..” he sat down and began organizing it all trying to find a place to start

He slowly took the section she left him, nodding his head in understanding. A start is a start. He looked at the meat in his hands, he wasn't fond of raw but he'd deal with it. Kain finished the section a few moments later. He stretched out himself, laying on his side and just enjoying the proximity of being near her. All he wanted to do right now is run his fingers through her fur, but he'd lose a hand that way. So instead he was content to observe and keep an ear out for rogues.
--
"You're welcome" She said, watching him try and find a place to start. She was way out of her element so instead she sat close, trying to provide comfort as he started sorting the paperwork.
