Now I feel called out because Magic agrees on how terrible I am.

I'm going to roll away to hyperfixate on how awful I am and have my anxiety play up about how I'm not worth writing with such great people sleep now

I didn't say that. I think what you sent me is perfectly fine. I just put that there because more than one person mentioned discomfort with writing this type of scene and it seemed appropriate to share that in case they wanted tips from an expert for how to do it better.

I haven't done very many of them, so I'm not super experienced with writing fight scenes either.

I think I did an okay job at getting across the action so if you do need some help, I'd be more than happy to provide it.

Fight scenes are always a pain for me to write. You have to get that balance between realistic combat and fantasy capabilities. Doesn't help that I've never been in a real fight before, so everything i know comes from tv and anime

They had that in X-Men Apocalypse. Nightcrawler ended up in a cage match with Angel-whotsit and couldn't teleport out because of plot contrivance and electricity.
