Avatar: Tales of the Hundred Year War

"Ok..."He said moving towards the back of the house finding an ajar slide door into the house. He peeked inside making sure the coast was clear as she mentioned the hawk on the desk and smirked."Easy picking."He whispered as he entered and slowly approaching the desk, he saw the hawk looking at him but didnt think much of it. When he went to grap the letter, the hawk began to squawk loudly as it flapped its wings.

Era watched from the window, she sent a small rock to knock the hawk out. "Hurry." She hissed, watching the area. "Get the letter they are coming." She said seeing people walking.

Yao began to panic, when heard people were coming and hawks squawking only became louder. The desk was filled with papers and Yao cursed before grabbing what he could and rushing out.

Era looked over the papers as they walked off, she wasn't sure if any of those where what they needed until she seen the fire nation symbol on it. "Think this is it."

" Is it?" He said still trying to recover from the excitement of breaking in and the scenario with the bird. " Bloody hell hopes so, I am not telling ou... My kids in the future the story of how I was beaten by a bird. What does it say?"

Era kept walking before opening the letter, she glanced it over. "Yeah, this is the letter. Who would we even take this to, Yao? We're a couple of kids, they'll think we are just stirring shit." She didn't mean to curse but it really had her worried.

She shrugged, "Yao, I think we need to go, we have to find the militia. Or at least these troups, according to this we got three days to get there." She looked around, they need to look for a way to get there quicker.

(changed Jiao weapon)

"Well, we could look for a stable somewhere."He suggested beginning to walk around the village."See how much an ostrich horse goes for."

Elsewhere a figure approached the mansion, clad in red robe and his face covered by a mask and bow and quiver hung on his back. He kept low, moving quicky and silently through the roof before entering the mainson through the window. The mayor stood inside mauling over his lost papers when he turned to see the intruder, scared at first but breathed a sign of relief when he saw who it was.

"Captain Feng, it didn't expect your party for three days."

"Dear mayor, i am hear to give you what you deserve."The masked man said before a dagger size flame came from his hand.

Era nodded, she kept walking until they found a stable, there was a man selling an ostrich horse. He spent a while talking them into buying two until he lowered it so low it was two for the price of one. Era walked back with the horse, giving Yao an odd look. "I wonder who really got ripped off." She commented.

He smirked looking at the horse he had picked out."We haven't ridden them yet, so i guess we will see on the way there. Speaking of there..." He took out the map they had."We need try the garrison in the next big town, we need to get the north road there."

Era nodded, strapping her bag to her horse. "Alright, we have three days to get up to the front," she reminded. She got on the horse, looking around. "This is most likely the farthest I been away from home."

"It is a record i have broke repeatedly since we left the port and about to break another."He said as he paused infront of the horse as if unsure on what to do with it."Have dealt with such horses before but i never riden one.."

Era chuckled, "Just get on, forward to go back to stop." She gave a small smile. "Well... I assume."

"Right... Just get on... forward and go back... Easy."He said clearly nervous before trying to climb up the the horse, the creature began to move making him pause and almost trip over."Wow... Stupid horse... Once more." He climbed on this time managing to get his leg around though he kept hugged close to the creature no sure of his footing."Heh, done know all i have to do is to make it go..Wow!" he managed to say before the horse just began running ahead.

Era watched, "Quit hugging it!" She called making her own horse run after him. "Yao, try sitting up." She called from her horse.

"Easy... For you... To say!" He called out back to Era as he tried to control the horse. Eventually he found a way to seat up and grab on the reigns."Ok... I am up... now to slow down...Eh...Wow."He said before pulling on the rein hopping the horse will slow down.

"Don't pull so hard," she yelled out, watching the horse stop so quickly Yao went flying. She got off her horse and ran to him. "Yao, are you okay?"

Yao landed on the ground hard on his back and he groaned in pain."Damn horse..."He complained in between the groan before Era rushed to him. "I am fine... I think. Nothing broken beyond my pride." He said felling embarrassed for messing up in front of her, he tried to sit up immediately by himself.

"Maybe the horse isn't broke," she guessed as she helped him sit up. If she offered to take the bird she was afraid it would hurt his feelings. "We can ride together until we have time to break it."

"No, it is not the horse you dont have to spare my feelings."He said becoming frustrated at himself for making her think he was that useless. He tried standing up." I pulled to hard on the rein that was the only problem, now i know i can fix it. I will manage this time."

Era sent him a look, "I wasn't sparing your feelings. The bird isn't broke. The only thing I was sparing was asking if you wanted me to take the death trap bird." She told him, sighing.

"I will make do dont worry." He said and despite having a slight limp approached the bird and made an attempt to climb on. He did manage it though not without some difficulty."You see no worries.. no come on we are burning daylight."

Era rolled her eyes, getting on her bird, before taking off. She was just worried but she also had to see it his way. A girl trying to protect him.

He managed to get the bird moving at reasonable speed, though it took abit of signaling to do so. He eventually managed to catch up with Era. "Hey looks like I am managing. And... Eh.. Sorry if I bit your head off for my fall."
