Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"Well," jack sketched a roof onto the boat house, "If we put some crop plots up there, and run water up to it, we'll be able to grow things up there." He looked up at her and smiled, "With the size of the house, there's space up there to grow just about any plant!"

"And something that poops a lot," Jack nodded, then paused, not really wanting to spend any part of his day collecting poop barehanded. "Do you think there's a dino that collects poop?"

"Sounds like a Roan question, " She replied, "I dont have any idea what would poop a lot or collect any. I dont know much about dinos, really."

"Huh..." Jack scratched that down in his mapbook for later, "I'll look into that later." He looked around the map of the island he had in his book, "I think," he said, looking at the sketch of the house again, "I know you said we should use wood because we're not in danger, but, it's also a better insulator." For heat and sound. And stone roofs were more watertight, too.

"Not to mention. Lighter on water," Vera added. She looked over the sketch, "Hold off on the garden for now, I suppose. Until we have those kind of dinos we need for the compost?"

Jack looked a bit confused until he realized he misspoke, "I just said wood was a better insulator than stone, didn't I?" He shook his head, "Yeah, I guess hold off on the garden." Maybe Roan knew something about dinos that collected poop and dinos that pooped a lot? "We are putting way too much thought into poop."

"Oh, hell no!", Jack shook his head vigorously, "Had enough trouble cleaning up after the herbivores before!"

Vera giggled even more, "Thought so. That's why we we are worrying so much about it."

Jack frowned, "I still think we should plan that far ahead if we can." He glanced around, looking down at the inlet below, "I wonder where the best place to build our house would be..."

Vera hummed, "We can have a look around. See what would be best for it?"

Jack nodded, "That sounds good," he smiled and stood up, beginning to fold paper away so the wind wouldn't demolish their work.

"Probably still sleeping," Jack shrugged, rolling his shoulders and glancing across the bowl to their hut, "The lights are off, anyway. And their dinos were still there, the barge was still in the cove."

"Well, I wonder if they'll be there all day," She hummed, "Oh well. Lets get started."

Getting on their respective mounts, Jack on Nike and Vera on her currently unnamed raptor, they started looking for a good spot on the beaches, which turned out to be surprisingly limited because of what they needed. They both needed land for foundations, and space for pillars to run the dock and support the second floor. It looked like the only place they could get what they needed was on the space between the smaller pieces of island on the northern side of the island, or the cove.

"Huh," Jack looked around, "If we can clear some of these boulders here on the tip, then when we build the house, we'll also be able to use that smaller island." Maybe they could use that space for something?

"Yea, this will be a long task, " Vera replied, "man this island really doesn't have much huh?"

"It is pretty small," Jack shook his head, "But there's only four of us." He looked to guage the distance between here and land, "I wonder if I could build a bridge to land from here..."

"It would take a while, but maybe," Vera shrugged, "You could use rafts."

"I dunno about that," Jack shrugged, "Maybe, I'll see when we've got the resources for projects like that." He looked back at Vera and smiled, "So I guess we're building here?"

"Well..." Jack realized he didn't actually have a plan in mind, "Why don't we go figure out a design, first?" Get all their ducks in a row before they started building something.

"Sure. The table is still up top." Vera said, leading the way. Once up to the top, "We should have a kitchen and a bathroom for sure."
