Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

Roan rubbed his face, groaning, "Why do I mess everything up?"

Vera nodded, "I agree with you, Jack. I'm not mad. "

Anna sat on the bed with her hood in her hands, "i've gotta make it up to him, somehow." She didn't want Roan to be mad at her. Jack, eh. His opinion really only carried weight when it came to building stuff, as far as Anna was concerned. Vera, likewise. Anna cared about her, but if something happened they weren't close as sisters. Roan, she didn't want him angry at her.

And that was what made today so infuriating! "Dammit!" She got up from the bed and started pacing, "Why can't anything go right?" She shook her head, "Stupid, stupid, stupid!" She briefly imagined Roan next to her repeating his earlier questions about taming a supply drop. In another brilliant display of her 500 point IQ today, she turned and punched the mental image, her fist connecting with the wooden supports of the wall and shattered her knuckles.

"OW! FUCKING HELL! SON OF A BITCH!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Are you sure?", Jack looked like he sure expected her to be mad, "You do realize what I just said?" That stuck with him as something that probably would have angered her. He didn't want her to be angry, but he was surprised she wasn't.

"I'm stupid, I'm sorry," Jack shook his head, "I'm overthinking, it's just... a lot's happened the last couple days."

Roan sighed, laying back in the sand. It would be a cold night, but he felt as if he deserved it.

"I get it. We should wait, youre right. We should at least wait until we have the power to keep anything off of us. But even then, wait until we are totally ready." Vera said, "I agree with you."

Jack breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank you." He put an arm around her shoulders in a hug and looked up at the moon, "Think we should go to bed soon?"

Vera nodded, "Its been an eventful day. Let's go to bed. We can build something more in the morning."

Jack smiled, "Sounds good." He got up and doused the fire, offering Vera a hand to lead her into the shack. "Milady."

After a while of sitting there clutching her hand, once Anna started to calm down she started working on putting things back together, using a flat piece of wood for a splint as she wrapped her hand, before grabbing some stuff and going to one of the raptors to go find Roan. It was hard, because it was dark, but she eventually found him. "Roan, talk to me, please."

Vera took his hand, heading to bed with him.

Roan sighed, sitting up. He was quiet, hesitating. He didnt know how to respond, "Why?"

"What?" He questioned. He had been here on the beach. She never hit him. So he was really confused, "What are you talking about?"

Roan got up, going to her. He couldn't be mad. Even with his mind telling him to, he couldn't be angry. His expression softened as he gently took up her hand to look at it, "I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I should've kept my mouth shut..."

"No, it's my fault," Anna looked away but didn't resist as Roan looked at her hand, "I shouldn't have gotten angry." This was good, they were talking again. Even though her hand was still hurt, Roan's touch was gentle enough not to aggravate the injury. "Can we... just pretend it didn't happen?"

Roan looked at her, "Sure. Lets forget it happened."

He gently moved, pulling her into a hug, "I love you. I do. I dont want to argue. I dont want you to hurt."

"Thank you- Oh!" Anna was still on raptorback, so when Roan pulled her into a hug he was pulling her off of the raptor, which resulted in Anna leaning on him as she worked to get her legs under her. "Roan, I... I don't want to argue either, but..." She shook her head and closed her eyes, "I love you too." Her cheeks turned a few shades redder as she looked up at him after saying that.

Roan gave a little smile before leaning in to kiss her. He picked her up a bit, happy to just have her in his arms, "I really do love you, Anna."

"Hmmng," Anna looked down at the ground then back up at Roan, eyes watering as she smiled, "Can we..." She looked back to their hut and murmured something about safer, not getting stepped on by a trike in the dark.

Roan nodded, picking her up, bridal style, to carry her to their hut. Once inside, he laid her on the bed, laying with her, "I'm sorry I yelled earlier."

"Hehe," Anna chuckled and snuggled into Roan's chest as he carried her, "I'm sorry I tried to cave your head in," the wall still had splinters where she punched it. She'd have probably gone straight through if she hadn't broken her hand, it looked like.

"Right," He said, looking at the wall. He chuckled, "I'm glad I wasn't actually here. You would've killed me, looks like."

Anna chuckled, "You're sturdy," she smiles and settled against Roan for warmth, "I'd have probably broken my hand before I broke your nose."

He chuckled, "Well, i would rather it not at all, but at least I'm not dead. Hopefully your hand will heal by morning."

He kissed her head, holding her close. He lazily drew invisible shaps on her back with his fingers. This is all he wanted. Her in his arms. Happy.

"I hope so too," Anna smiled, "I don't want us to fight." No one wanted them to fight, but Anna really just wanted them to get along. "You're so warm," she smiled and shifted to settle comfortably in Roan's arms, "Goodnight, Roan."

"Good night, Anna," he said and closed his eyes. He stayed rubbing her back until he fell asleep a while later.
