Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

Roan nodded, "lets go."

The two stepped outside making their way to make lunch. Vera watched, "A long night?"

When Anna and Roan stepped outside, on the smithy was some stimulant and some stimberry juice, and a note. The instructions were to mix the two substances together with water and drink it quickly, because it was bitter. "Of course," Anna shuddered.

"Yeah, that's what they said," Jack nodded, then glanced at Vera, "Not like our long night, I think, they had clothes on when they answered the door."

Roan shook his head, "It smells bitter..."

"I wonder if everything is ok.." Vera hummed, "well, at least they're awake."

"Stimberries always give me dry mouth," Anna sighed as she went about following directions to make the greyish liquid, "i guess that's coffee?"

"They seem alright," Jack shrugged. He sat down at the table and started doing some math for resources.

"Smells gross," Roan sighed, "But if it give energy, who am I to complain?"

"Now, but like.. did something happen last night, I wonder." She said.

"I guess," Anna shrugged as she passed over a cup, "It sure doens't look good, but..." She tossed it back as quick as she could, making a face. It was gross, but it worked. "Coffee sucks."

"We can ask when they're all woken up," Jack shrugged, "I hope nothing bad happened."

Roan nodded, mentally preparing himself for the taste before tossing the coffee back and swallowing, "Yea. It sucks..."

Vera nodded, "Well, lets get started then."

Anna shuddered and passed the waterskin, "Wash the taste out."

"I am ready when you are," Jack nodded as he folded over a sheet covered in numbers and tucked it into his pocket. "We need an anky, we need metal tools, we need to take the barge north and get argies so we can drop the anky at the Volcano to build a refinery."

Roan happily took the waterskin and took a drink, "Thanks. Now, what are we doing today?"

Vera nodded, "The Argies were pretty simple to tame. It shouldn't take too long to do it."

"Jack said we were taming stuff," Anna sighed, heading to the raptors, "Might as well go see what he's on about."

"Yeah," Jack nodded as the other two rode up on their raptors. "Hey, we were just making a plan!" He relayed the goals for today. "If a couple of us can take the barge north and get as many argies as you can knock out, the others can work on getting an anky for metal and flint, sound good?"

"Sure. So who is doing what then?" Roan asked, "we didn't have a very hard time knocking the argies out, so you can do that if you want."

"Sounds good. And you can get us an anky?" Vera said, earning a nod from Roan, "Great."

"Alright," Jack nodded, "Let's pool our narcotics." All together, the group had and had stored on the barge... a lot. They worked for a while for pretty much this exact situation once they got back together, and had been doing so while they were searching for each other. It seemed like enough that they could create a flock.

"I'll build a trap on the barge," Jack offered, "Than way we don't have to touch land, just get the birds angry, lock them in the trap, and tow them out once they're unconscious."

"Sure. Youre the boss, " Roan shrugged, "Sounds like a good enough plan to me."

"It should work," Vera nodded.

"Why am I the boss?", Jack raised an eyebrow.

"You're big, you make plans, and..." Anna looked over at Nike, "You have the most lethal dino. Short of setting you on fire you are the alpha human," she chuckled and shook her head, "You don't want to be the leader?"

"Not.. not really," Jack shook his head, "I prefer discussion, not deferrence."

"Ok well for this specific thing, youre the boss." Roan shrugged, "not a deal, right?"

"...Fine," Jack shook his head, "I'll get to work, if you guys can crap together some crossbows we should be done around the same time." Jack planned to build the trap out of stone, which took some resources they didn't have at the moment. Make it sturdy, so the argies couldn't damage it.

"Sounds like a plan," Anna nodded, "I'll get some metal in the forge."

"How much metal do you have already?" Roan asked and he joined Anna in getting some metal into the forge.

"I've only got enough for a few ingots," Anna shrugged, "I only stayed here for a few days last time, I didn't gather a bunch of resources." She handed over the metal pick she'd made last time, "I think I've got enough for an anky saddle, but just in case, you know?" While the metal was refined she got resources together and made the saddle and some tranq arrows. Ankies were durable and it would be kinda a pain to separate one from his friends.

"A little is better than none," He shrugged, taking the pick, "Any spot thst is super good for metal?"

"There's some ore around," Anna pulled out her map and drew a line with her fingers around the southwest part of the hill they were on, "There. At least, that's where the rich stuff is. I'd save that for the anky, though, if it works, and go for the less rich over here," she pointed to the west side. "That way if the anky does work like we're hoping there's no resource loss."

"Got it," Roan nodded, making his way for the spot pointed out for him. It didn't take long to get there, and after a short while he had a decent amount of metal, enough to make the things needed. Soon he headed back and put the metal in the forge to smelt.

While Anna and Roan made metal tools, down at the Barge Jack worked to move all of their materials up to the shacks so there was space on the barge for three argentavis traps on the front, and campfires around the back so the humans wouldn't freeze to death when they got up to the northern area where there were argentavis to tame. "What do you think?", Jack asked as he put the finishing touches on and stepped back. He explained the traps, "The hinges of the door can only go so far before they can't bend anymore, and the argies can only fit in a space so big, so when they come in, slam the door open towards the inside before they can come out. We did some testing back when we had argies, they can't damage stone tier structures, so this trap should hold." He gestures to the three traps, "Get one in each trap, knock them out all at once, drag them out and put narcotics in them, repeat, and tame." The barge was big enough they could do that about three times before they'd be swimming in birds.

"That should work perfect," Vera nodded, testing it out, "Perfect even. This should be just fine. Get a few argues in no time. Youre a genius, jack."

Jack beamed, it was always nice to be complimented, "You sure you're gonna be alright with the cold?"

"There we go," Anna smiled as she laid crossbows down on the table with the anky saddle. "Now comes the fun part." They had to go give the other two crossbows, and then they'd be ready to go on their separate adventures.

"I'll be ok. I upped my fortitude a good bit since the last time," She replied, "I should be fine."

Roan chuckled, "Lets adventure then, shall we?"
