Fantasy A Time of Kings

Strangely, Nocturne could have sworn he heard something, he wasn't sure exactly what but he just waved it off, it probably came from the fortress...either way, it wasn't important to him. The woman had turned towards him and seen him, the markings on her face and cloak around her shoulders almost made her look like a priestess, perhaps she was one for all he knew. But once she saw him he was glad she didn't run for her life, that at least was a good sign that word hasn't gotten this far yet about the trouble he had at the last inn. Still, she seemed to be wary of him but that was expected of her, she had no idea who he was after all. Once she bowed her head and mumbled a good morning he took of his hoodie and pulled down his mask, maybe if she saw a friendly face she wouldn't be as cautious around him. He bowed his head, only slightly, to the "priestess" and smiled at her. "Morning, what brings you around here?"

A guard takes notice of the shamanly figure standing before the bridge gate. "Oi, what's yer business here? Travel, work of merchant goings on?" The guard is peering out from atop the gate, down at Ava. But that's when another man of sinister cloakings joins her. "Oi, there's another one of them here! More of those assholes what attacked our mate!" He starts shouting to gather attention. "That yer' friend we told to fuck off n' sent packing, the one in edgy armor like those prick black knights? We'll do the same to you if you feel like startin' a fight!" And sure enough, all guards on the wall have their attentions to the two figures out on the bridge. "What's that girl doin' out there with that guy, looks just like an assassin sort!" That comment would spark a side discussion.

"Yer but why would an assassin look like an assassin? Aint that like... the opposite of what they want? Hell if I wanted to sneak a blade in someones guts I'd just wear me normal clothes." "Yer' right, so maybe not an assassin... just some bloke thats wanting to look like one? Think that's a good way to get yerself hanged by my thinking."

Robin shakes her head. "It's like you've forgotten everything about how our world works in the two years you spent dead. Bring enough, which is usually a lot, coin to a Grand Priest in a city that's got one, and they'll return souls to their bodies. Heck, might even run you less since it's already in yer' body." Robin gives a light laugh, hand on her hip. "And it's a whole lot better than mucking about with black magic."

(The trip from Pearlwood Gulf to Girrara would take a month. Thanks for not waiting for my response by the way.)

"You forget, I never had to know about that. We were a self-sufficient city-state, devoted to technological enhancement. "Yaro said, looking down at his weapons. "My arts at blacksmithing may not be much, but maybe I can make enough coin forging weapons......It's how I got by for the last year. "He said to her. "Zaterran Blacksmithing is a nearly dead-art, and I was trained by perhaps the best. "

(@Foxgirl Jay I thought positive magic wouldn't have an effect on him? )

(Resurrection is different.)

"But we've no time to just sit around and bang on metal for enough money. There's a tyrant that needs dethroning." Robin explains it away. It's just something that to her, is a little more important than returning Yaro to a real life.

Nocturne cursed under his breath, he really did want to let these guards stand in the way of his break. He slowly raised his hands and looked up at the guards, giving them his most charming smile. "Sorry but I think you got me mistaken with someone else, I'm just a weary traveler that want to rest his legs and dig into a nice warm meal! I'm not here to cause any problems and you have my word on that!" He yelled at them, he hoped that the guards wouldn't run him out, he was barely containing his temper at the thought that those idiots would keep him from resting at the fortress.

@Foxgirl Jay

Ava wracked her brain for an appropriate thing to say, searching his face in hopes of finding the answer to his question. She opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by one of the men guarding the gate yelling down at her. She looked towards the stranger, eyeing his garb after talk of him looking like an assassin. They certainly had a point, to say the least... His dark attire aside, lurking in the shadows and staring at people was also very suspicious. She allowed him to defend himself, keeping quiet.

That is, until she heard someone asking if she wanted some "company." Someone alive.

She turned, shocked to see yet another unfamiliar face. "I, uhm... What?" she stammered, obviously confused by the elf's sudden proposition.

Adin smiled, and said "Okay we will travel together, and stuff. Okay? Okay." He noticed the shadowy man and frowned. "Who is that, and why is he so creepy?" Adin poked at him with his rose staff. "I am Adin, and you are M'lady?"

The soldier that was speaking takes his helmet off briefly, to scratch his head in thought. With a sigh he says "We can't go against our orders t' let people in that look suspicious, but we also weren't told to leave people out starving. But long as you're not attacking, we'll let you rest around the fort. We keep a watchful eye so y' won't be bothered. We'll get some food from the inn, and a tent if you need it, right?" He asks, hoping that his small charity won't get him in trouble.

Enigma, on his his way to. Forked vale, comes across a group of three 3 bandits. They were ill quipped, leather armor and rusty, dull, old short swords. They thought they were cleverly hidden, though they were in suspiciously unrooted bushes, which three helmets stuck out of. As Enigma approached, they jumped out at him, their blades already unsheathed. The get closer to Enigma. (@Foxgirl Jay , can you RP these, you're good at doing it NPCs and stuff.)

The bandits jump out. One was whispering about how this was a bad idea. All were nervous about the figure. "Drop yer' coin and be on your way!" One demands. "Yeah, drop it and ya' won't get stabbed!" They'd rather have just left well enough alone, but they were desperate. They couldn't wait for another potential traveler or merchant wagon to trundle along, because another might not show up.

(You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what a bandit is. Sure, some are foul people, but most are jobless vagrants who just need money. They don't want your life, they want your money.)

Enigma stood there. "If you know what's best for your health, you will leave me be." Enigma wanted to end this as quick as possible, as he wanted to get to Forked Vale quicker. He had not unsheathed his sword yet, as he didn't see them as a major threat. He could practically feel their nervousness. Being about 7'0, he felt he was already intimidating them, though he wasn't sure, to tes this theory, nhe takes one step toward them. (I see my mistake, I get bandits and rogues confused a lot. @Foxgirl Jay )

All at once, the bandits make a quick stab at the man, then immediately turn tail and flee.

(And since waiting forever sucks and I know Radazart won't mind...)

Jonathan must then reluctantly surrender his chance at a fourth breakfast, or second pre-lunch. He hasn't decided which it is yet, but it matters not. He pushes his seat back and stands up. He had is pack sitting beneath the table, expecting it to be a hasty leave from Caed Nua. Slung over his back.

Robin smiles and pats his back as he stands. "Worry not, my friend! The road ahead will not be too long or difficult, I can feel it!" She tries to be as reassuring as she can. Robin can tell that he's hesitant about something, but not sure what it is.

"Oh, it's not the road we must travel that brings me woe, it's the hole in my stomach that fourth breakfast was to occupy!" He heaves a great sigh, over exaggerating as any bard worth their salt will.

But to Robin, it was hilarious. She thought it was something serious. Robin thinks that the life of a halfling must be carefree if their greatest worry before an adventure is missing a meal.

Robin, Kirk and Jonathan (and presumably Yaro) depart from Caed Nua, taking the west-ward gate, the bridge gate.

(By the way, I decided I got bored with Robin's appearance, so I changed it to my usual favorite style.)

As their dull blades made contact, with his chest piece, they simply chipped at his armor. Enigma laughs as they run. "Typical." He continues on his journey to Forked Vale. He really wish he could fly right about now. He had heard of dragons, yet never saw one, which made him doubt their existence heavily. Though if they did exist he'd like to see it. Enigma wonders how long it would take to get to the location his desires. He looks at the nearest tree. He leaps onto it, shaking it and scaring a nest of birds, who all flew away. He climbs the tree until he can see in the direction he was moving in, seeing the Forked Vale was still a couple of days away, he sighs. He was bored, and he had hoped he would meet more action on the way. Maybe something interesting would happen at night. He lies down on the tree and decides to sleep the day away.

(Not quite. I'm sure you can find a way back in. The uh, plot hasnt progressed at all. Much to my displeasure, everyone is still fucking about Caed Nua >:L )

(Foxgirl, what's the party's travel route? I won't Metagame, I just wanted to know.)

Yaro followed closely behind Robin, having grabbed his gear. He counted out his coins, and bit his lip: 25 gold pieces, 7 silver pieces, and 32 copper pieces. Not a lot, and Yaro doubted that it would be even close to enough to buying back his humanity. "I need to be careful....."Yaro said quietly. Yaro then looked towards Robin. "I'll earn more money along the way......By the time we reach Hel's point, I should reach what I need, right?" he asked, curious as to what the cost of the spell was.

Robin shakes her head with a tight frown. "Likely not. I've heard ressurection requires expensive materials and a lot of preparation. And most of the coin taken from the person who requests the spell is used to buy all that's needed. A priest with knowledge about it would be able to tell you better than I can." The gate rattles open to admit the party to leave Caed Nua. Seems there's another group of strange travelers on the bridge. But they're of no concern to Robin. Their path is to the west.

"Now Jon, I'm sorry I have to say this... but while we're on the road, you may need to skip all but one of your breakfasts... or any other meal in fact." She says it though, with a light hearted smile. She may permit the halfling to have a second breakfast, but no doubles of the other meals.

Enigma was suddenly woken up when a liquid hits his helmet, it slides off. "Hm?" Enigma opens one eyes. He didn't see anything. Another drop falls - It came from the sky. Enigma sat up. More water fell from the sky, then it became apparent to Enigma - It was rain; he didn't like the rain. He groans, he was having a good nap until this happened. It began to rain heavily, being close to a large body of water, Enigma expecting this to be normal. He throws his legs over the side of the branch he was sitting on, grunting. He slides off of the branch, hitting the ground with a hard thud. He began to resume his trip to Forked Vale. He could have already been there, but he felt like taking the scenic route. Plus Enigma wanted to stretch his legs a bit.
