consummating a marriage is a cultural thing, might not be a cultural thing in Ibben.

But if they don't consummate it Daenna, a follower of the faith of the seven, can challenge the legitimacy of the marriage and get out of it at any point she wants with a Raven to our old friend the High Septon, it may not matter in the eyes of Ibb but if Desgren wanted a marriage that mattered in the eyes of Ibb he would have married an Ibbenese woman.Leusis said:consummating a marriage is a cultural thing, might not be a cultural thing in Ibben.
Sucks for Deanna. She's more likely to get murdered that way than denying his request for marriage, spitting in Vance's face, and then telling off Kuvira and claiming the throne as her own.Hypnos said:But if they don't consummate it Daenna, a follower of the faith of the seven, can challenge the legitimacy of the marriage and get out of it at any point she wants with a Raven to our old friend the High Septon, it may not matter in the eyes of Ibb but if Desgren wanted a marriage that mattered in the eyes of Ibb he would have married an Ibbenese woman.
Perhaps if Aemond and Cayden get friendly with eachother (which i see no reason why they wouldnt they are pretty similar people and have shared experiences and tastes.) then they could scheme against their love rivals.Akio said:Daennas the only true born heir to the seven kingdoms. She could legally do whatever she wanted to Kuriva for she is the rightful queen of the iron throne.
Also right now his concern is war. If Daenna was getting married in the seven kingdoms he would probably take much more kindly to it but Khal or men of Ib will bring a war they can not be om the same side unless he abandons his home
They might. Also i posted for you.Lancelot said:Perhaps if Aemond and Cayden get friendly with eachother (which i see no reason why they wouldnt they are pretty similar people and have shared experiences and tastes.) then they could scheme against their love rivals.
Oh sorry, my notifications have been messing up recentally for some reason.Akio said:They might. Also i posted for you.
Akio said:One problem with that is where will she go? If she goes to Ib there is Zero way off the island. She would have no one with sailing experience in her retuine since Cayden would not follow her there and the Shadow King is not likely to let her leave. In Dorne there will be expectations of her even if Cayden were to negotiate with Bravos and lead the war effort.
Daenna has her own ship that is loyal to her and she has sailing experience. Plus, it's already been agreed upon that she will be able to leave. Who said she is leaving Ibben anyway? She could break down and run while still in Pentos.Elendithas said:Bruh Vance just stated she would be free to travel when not absolutely needed. This is a marriage of two houses, essentially, not love. He really has no need to keep her around at all times.
Daenna wouldn't risk another enemy by doing such a thing. He is already dying what would be the use.Elendithas said:Sucks for Deanna. Daenna wouldn't even focus the army on Dorne. Mostly she would be attempting to get the rebelling houses in line and would try to keep the men of Ib only when force is needed and she has no other choice.Akio said:Daennas the only true born heir to the seven kingdoms. He would probably know of them, probably would not know who exactly thier commander isLancelot said:@Akio
Do you think that Aemond would recognize the Red Spear?
Aemond is the Ex-Commander of the Windblown, that might of been before Caydens time as a sellsword but Aemond has strong ties with the Sellswords in the disputed lands especially the Windblown and the Company of the Cat.
Even if it would allow Daenna to take the throne? Plus Desgran will likely be dead before she manages to take the throne and the Ibbenese will have little to do with Westeros outside of the terms of the alliance. And If Daenna manages to become queen she will be sure to repay Dorne for any help that they gave her.Akio said:Doesn't change the attitude of the Dornish. They will not allow the king of Ib rule them or have a say in their government. Dorne made a pact with the dragon on their own terms, even after several wars marriage brought them in on the terms Dornish law would reign in dorne. Why would they surrender to dwarves with about as many men as one great house.
When she becomes Queen she can make a Dornish her personal adviser, likely Cayden or one of his sisters. This way they have influence within the decision's that is made. This way they don't feel as powerless. And when Desgran dies she can marry Cayden and by making him king of Westeros while he rules Dorne she will give Dorne a larger seat of power.Akio said:Without a doubt Cayden would have to become ruler of Dorne to do so. But even then there is only so much he can say. How wpuld they repaid in such a worth while way to allow foreign invaders tell them anything? She will be married, what can she offer?
I am just hoping that Aemonds charming good looks and eye will sway the Princess instead of those "promises" that the others are making.WanderingJester said:Wow, you guys are really counting your chickens before they hatch huh? lol
