Ishar barely manages a steep bank to the left as the dragoness and her rider surges forward. His saddle-less back is rough upon Gwyneth's tender buttocks, though she shoves the thought from her head as Ishar hits another thermal, sending him into an upright Aileron roll (see image)into a cloud bank. Now cold, and a tad bit flustered, the snowy dragon bull lets out an irritated snort as he levels out slightly below the she-dragon, her wing shadows engulfing his smaller wings of only sixty-two foot span. (Most flying animals have a larger female, rather than male being larger, for example:bald eagles)

"Well, beside the fact I have no idea how to land, I'm soaking wet, and so is Gwenny, Hmm, what possibly could you help with?" he replies, calling back to the rider in human - speak. He had never gotten the amazing ability of telepathy, oh the list of the things he didn't have still continues to grow.

"Be nice Ish," his small and rather pale rider cuts back in, giving him a knowing look, "Is there anyway you could advise this fluff-brain? We had everything planned out till now, of all times."

Her mount gives her snort of discontent as his wings steadily tire, his whole body clearly dripping with exhaustion... and water.

"We've been riding the thermals, but we don't have the endurance to keep this up much longer. Any ideas?" she continues, her voice barely audible over the rushing wind.

Ashanti tried twirling his body to face what was going on behind him. "D'Mago, there's another dragon! What is happening!" He complained as he twirled around as they flew. D'Mago finally took pity on him and released his shirt from his teeth, and dove under his falling form to scoop him on his back. "You're an abdominal creature who finds pleasure in ruining my tunics." Ashanti snapped as he gestured to the charred strands that were the remains of his shirt. D'Mago laughed loudly at that. "And you are a pesky flea on my back. Now for the rest of the trip be quiet for once." Ashanti growled, but laid on his back in between his dragon's back spikes and gazed at the two Dragon Riders.

"Why are you so damn big D'Mago?" Ashanti said after a while of staring at the two dragons a few paces behind them. D'Mago grumbled.

"I'm old."

"How old?"

"Very. Now shut it before you learn to fly yourself."

Ashanti rolled his eyes and the two fell into a comfortable silence.

Ashanti cocked his head as the girl walked off. "What did she mean I'm in no hurry?" He asked D'Mago. The large dragon had no idea either, but quickly shrugged it off and picked Ashanti up like a mother cat does to her kittens and took off, his wings causing the grass to flatten and catch on fire from the flames. "D'Mago! Put me down you rat-snake wench!" Ashanti screamed as he shot through the sky as his dragon made a loud smashing sound that was his form of laughter. "This was my favorite shirt goddammi-" His voice faded out as they flew out of range of the other two.

[quick reply to stay in the game - don't even know where I left Evelyn]

Ko's slender black form appeared once again out of the mist - the weather had taken a slight turn for the worse, but it seemed something more than mere clouds. A darkness was conjuring from faraway lands that told of blood and death. This time, Evelyn was on his back. Once he landed, she slid off with ease, heading for Ashanti and the two other riders. She gave them a polite glance as she approached.

"Ko told me of a darkness that is to come. What's going on, Ashanti? Should we prepare ourselves?" She asked, eyes slightly narrowed in concern. The new riders were not ready - mere children many of them seemed, too young for the terrors of battle.

//my characters are still in the air. and welcome back!^^//

[of course... disregard that, I guess. I'm too drained to even change it xD go me for not reading enough of the previous threads]

( ^^ my characters are still open~ they're somewhere near the foothills between karthe and the mountains. should be around the middle of the last page if anyone else is open )

Boon was still asleep, his large form had somehow managed to roll itself over in his trench and now he lay there, snoring deep and loudly enough to gently shake the earth around him. His giant tongue hung from his gaping maw. It was this that woke him. He tasted it on his toungue first. A foul taste that caused him to hack and heave before opening his eyes. As he did so, the world revealed itself to him upside down. The sun had started to make itself known below the horizon and early morning birds seemed to fly on their backs. He moaned and tuned himself over, dirt and debris from the trench fell into its depths and the world righted itself before him. He moved into a lowered position and smelt the air around him. It reeked. A tainted stench was being carried upon the wind. But there was more than just the smell of decay, there was something else, it was the smell of evil. It was a smell he knew all too well as he had been drenched in it up until a few years ago. He shook his head and then picked himself up and looked around, everything seemed to be normal. "Hmmm...something wicked this way comes" he spoke softly to himself. He decided he needed to find and warn somebody, perhaps the rider he had seen before, the one he spied on. He spread his wings and took to the sky, completely forgetting about his own aparant rider...

"It is a pleasure to meet you." She glanced about the area they were in. "We should make sure your dragon hasn't received any wounds."

Moirai laughed at the pair with a hum more to herself rather than exposing it to the rest; her long hair shielding her smile from ever being witnessed before she looked up with a content gleam in her blue eyes. She nudged Zyla to speak what was in her mind. Although they were telepathic, such a thing was unnecessary for the two understood one another quite well without it - sometimes.

Zyla being slightly agitated by the bull and his snarkiness, she replied coolly with: "Well, quite a lot, seeing as you are soaking wet and we are dry? In fact, you've flown before, without the rider on your back, surely? If you know how to take off, then you should know how to land. Common knowledge acquired from our ancestors, t'whom which our parents, and those dragons around us, should know," she dove, preparing for land fall. "Common, instinctive, dragon knowledge. If it's that difficult for you, you should've watched the birds in boredom. Now, follow me and mimic my movements." Zyla was old for her age, although the dragon and she were similar, she knew where their differences ran. She was older than her rider, but one thing was for sure, and that was both of them were adults; and indeed, this glorious vixen was larger than her opposite by several feet.

"Well soooorryy, the Underlands are in a serious demand for birds, and dragons for that matter," Ishar retorts, the scales upon his muzzle rippling with his discontent, but instead of adding with another hateful comment, he quite himself and follows the dragoness, acknowledging her 'infinite wisdom' with his silence. However, he did mutter to himself about the sheer size difference between birds and dragons and how their was no tree that ever grew large enough for him to land in like that of a bird of any size.

"Thanks for your help strangers... as much as my friend here dislikes it!" Gwyneth calls forward, her child-like voice full of new hope, hoping her newest saviors heard her message over the sound of the wind flapping caused by their mount's large leathery wings. Ishar grunts as well, not wanting to admit that he needed help in the first place. They glide up along-side the pale-skinned woman and her matching dragon as they gradually spiral downwards to make a landing, never noticing the huge dragon and his rider behind(?) them.

D'Mago sniffed the air, and was rewarded with the scent of another dragon. He didn't even bother alerting his rider as he rolled into a shallow dive towards the river below.

The dragon was a youngster, and it was accompanied by a female.

His wings flapped open, jerking his body at the sudden stop, and he landed on the opposite side of the river with a heavy thud.

The giant fire dragon lowered his head down over the strangers, his golden eyes resting on them with amusement.

Aedai cocked his head at the sudden shadow, craning his neck to stare at the much, much larger dragon in bewilderment. The younger dragon backpedaled immediately, nearly knocking Lynxa over in the process.

"What in the world are you doi--"

Aedai sounded awed when he replied, "dragon," and used his nose to point behind her.

Lynxa's jaw dropped open when she finally spun to look - this dragon was enormous! Heat radiated off of him in waves, and Lynxa couldn't imagine someone
riding on the beast. Maybe it was wild... Which would spell certain death for the three travelers. Hopefully at least it wasn't hungry...

"Don't eat me... I promise I don't taste good! Take Ser'kel instead! He's nice and... uh... juicy?" This earned the woman a glare from the worn-out stallion, who strangely didn't seem worried about the gigantic dragon before them, moving a few paces off to crop up some grass.

Ashanti crawled up Dmago's back and peeped over his head. His companion's landings were always random and sudden; it was rather tiresome. He saw a girl, a rather small dragon, and a horse that looked surprisingly unbothered as the gigantic, fiery dragon stood not even ten feet away. The girl and her dragon looked extremely terrified, which was to be expected. "Don't eat me... I promise I don't taste good! Take Ser'kel instead! He's nice and... uh... juicy?" The girl said with wide eyes. "This is what happens when you come flying out of the sky randomly D'Mago." Ashanti said with a sigh, and he slid down the dragons nose and landed softly on the pads of his feet and walked to face the woman. "Sorry for our rather..extreme introduction. I am Ashanti, the leader of the Dragon Riders of Froyza, and this is my dragon D'Mago." D'Mago lowered his head until it was directly over Ashanti, and the small man patted the fiery dragon's jaw affectionately as he faced the newcomers.

Moirai, with her leg sliding back to clasp itself just past the saddle, clinging to it for a secure ride, leaned as Zyla's body would weave through the air in an elegant glide, banking left as she would descend lower, the softest of brushes from the morsel leaves of the birch-wood trees boasting her confidence as she thrust forward further, banking right with ease.

Zyla would sigh in contentment while continuing her pattern of descending banks three times more before her feet would clap against the ground gently, her wings closing as if they were thunderous drums. The man-made wind tousling the Dragon Rider's camp flags and doorway lamps gently. Her bright eyes examining their surrounds before she would fall unto all fours, head bent so as to allow her rider to hop off her back with a careful, and well-practiced, slide. The moment Moirai's boots touched the ground she would turn around and look up, watching as the girl and her matching dragon would catch up to them without a problem, hopefully. @SolisNighsun

"I'm going to eat it!"

"No, you're not."

That was basically the exchanged happening between William and Strad as the dragon-rider pair walked along a forested trail. Earlier, they young man had picked up some berries, and he was currently locked in an argument with Strad. "Listen, Strad. All I've eaten for the past week is bread! I'm dying to try anything else!" The man counted on his fingers before continuing. "Plus, I know only, what, seven poisonous berries? And I know a lot of berries! What are the odds that these are dangerous?" Strad sighed, rolling his eyes - or at least as far as a dragon his age could roll them. "Are you trying to test my caution, William? That is the worst justification I've ever heard for committing to an action as dangerous as this!" In reply, William just brushed him off. "So what? I'll just heal if off anyways. What's the big deal?" A loud huff could be heard from the old dragon. "The big deal? What are you-!" Strad stopped, taking a deep breath. "William, have you even considered how you'd heal yourself if you were dead?" Taking the silence from the man as an answer, the dragon continued. "I swear. Heavens, you have no foresight." Using one of his mossy claws, he picked up the man and threw him on his back. "Stay there, and don't pick any more berries."

After a while, the pair cleared the winding trail, coming across a river. Suddenly, Strad tensed up, throwing William off of his back surprisingly fast considering his old age. When William was about to ask why, Strad shushed him. "Don't look now, William. There's some kind of fire dragon ahead." The old dragon waited until he heard some voices die down before walking out. "Ho there!" The old dragon was tense, but he still waved one of his green claws.

@Coal @lyrebird

D'Mago turned towards the new voice, a low growl building up in his chest until Ashanti hushed him.

"Just another Dragon Rider. My luck." Ashanti huffed in annoyance, until D'Mago smacked him with the tip of his claw lightly.

"You should stop complaining. The more dragons you have, the better chance you have." The giant dragon rumbled, and Ashanti gave him a questioning glance. "What do you mean a better chance?"

D'Mago stiffened, then stepped over the huge river, his giant body clearing it easily. Ashanti yelped as the dragon left him.

"What are you hiding from me D'Mago!" But the dragon ignored him as he turned to the snake-like dragon and his companion. "Welcome." He said, his deep voice sounding like an avalanche.

Rickets awoke alone and refreshed within the confines of the barracks. He stretched and yawned before throwing back the covers and hoping out of bed. He wore a long, simple white gown with matching night cap. The only thing of note was the Karthian royal symbol emblazened upon them both. Rickets then slipped on some slippers and, humming happily to himself, made for the window which he threw open with gusto causing one of the panels to smash off and fall to ground outside. He didn't notice. Instead he stuck his head out into the warming sun, closed his eyes and took a deep breath taking in the fresh morning air. Suddenly he began choking and coughing "Gah! What is that!?" A foul smell had hit his nostrils. He opened his eyes and looked beyond the window. It didn't take much scanning before he spotted the large mound of dragon feces only a few meters away. It sat there silently but for the large swarm of flies buzzing around it."Goddamn aren't these dragons house trained or is that part of the program!?" He coughed and gagged some more before backing away from the window as far as he could. He took a moment to regain his composure and a moment more to ignore the smell. He then stood up and looked about the room. It was a pretty simple affair with ten or so beds each with equally simple side desks and wardrobes all made from a pretty cheap looking kind of wood.

He paced over to the wardrobe nearest him and threw open the doors with gusto causing one of the doors to fall off its hinges and nearly crush him beneath it but he swiftly dodged out of its way and shrugged his shoulders, "
heh, don't make 'em like they used to I guess". He reached into the wardrobe and pulled out a simple blue coloured tunic and a pair of equally simple leather trousers that were black in colour. At the bottom was a small selection of boots, all the same design but different in size. He noted the same emblem on the tunic as was on the pyjamas "hmm, I guess Karthe wants all the riders affiliated with them" he mused to himself before shrugging his shoulders again and changing into the provided attire.

Meanwhile, his supposed Dragon Boon, was searching the early morning sky's for any trace of the big dragon. He had flown over most of the training grounds already, extensive though they were.. He had checked the small grove of burnt trees where he had spied on who he had assumed to be the leader of this little get together the night before but found no trace, not even of the dragon he had awoken. As he flew on he witnessed two new arrivals appear on the edge of the grounds. The first landed well as if already a gifted rider whilst the other seemed to struggle. He snorted as he watched before bellowing down to them as he flew over head "Excuse me ladies, but have either of you seen a big, red dragon around these parts?"...

Ishar tried to follow the vixen's seemingly easy movements, but utterly failed, crushing several healthy trees beneath his heavy weight a few yards away from the Numarian woman and her dragoness.

"I swear to.... " the bull curses, a string of obscenities trailing from his toothy maw as he flops onto solid ground. His rider slides off, wearily, landing in a coniferous and after she stands she struggles to free herself from the needles. A large shadow crosses over them, revealing the entrance of another dragon and rider. However, the question he bellows is lost to the obnoxious sound of limbs cracking and swishing back and forth.

"What'd you say?" Gwyneth asks, finally escaping the drowning green pricklies. She, with a look of disgust, flicks off a creepy crawly that had managed to cling on to her.

"He said, Have, we. Seen. A large red dragon," her mount replies blowing hot air through his nostrils as he removes himself from his carnage of trees.

"I was just asking, no need to get your tail in a twist!"

"My tail isn't in a twist! See! It's perfectly fine!"

"It's an expression... an idiom or whatever."

"Ohhhhhh... Sorry."

The pair and their friendly bickering almost caused them to forget the newcomers above them.

"Oh yeah. Sorry you guys are the only people with dragons I've seen in what... three weeks?" she calls up to the man, wary of him, but she looks to her scaly companion for confirmation.

"Yep, that sounds 'bout right."

"Soooo... is that all you need, or?" she asks cautiously meeting his gaze. Men had always scared her, and this was one manly man. She had nearly been a victim to a man and his desires. It had been in a inn in the middle of nowhere one night when she went looking for food. But at least Ish broke through the ceiling and took him down to size. Or more specifically snapped him in half like a twig... which he proceeded to eat. But when any sign of authority came, all they found was a pile of ashes that once represented the crude estate.

In response to the fiery dragon, Strad dipped his head slightly in acknowledgement. "Thank you. It is my pleasure to be here." The mossy dragon became less tense, his body uncoiling. It should be fine, he thought. He shifted his weight, using his extraordinarily large tail to drag William out. "I regret to ask something of you so early, but my partener and I are-"

"We're looking for the dragon riders! The defenders of Frozya!" The man shouted, ducking under Strad's tail and running forward. He ran up to the large dragon, placing a fist on his heart and bowing. "Could you please give us directions?"

Meanwhile, Strad snorted in a sound almost filled with embarassment, ashamed of William's boldness.

Yakone was running as arrows whizzed pass his head. Gilder flew high up so he wasn't noticed by the raiders. Yakone continued to run and found himself at a temple like place. The bandits thought for a moment and looked at the temple like structure. Some of them ran back as they instantly noticed what it was. The Dragon Rider base. Gilder landed down, causing a small "boom". "Oi! Ya want all the kingdoms to know there's a dragon 'ere?!"

The golden dragon rolled his eyes and scoffed "We're in the middle of now where, no one's here." Yakone studied the place for a moment. He took out his map and according to it, he was at the Dragon Rider Base.

"We're at the Dragon Rider Base . . ." Yakone said. "Wait here." he said firmly.

Arthur pulled his shoe on and tied his boot. He exits his tent and grabs his Great-sword. He places it in the hardened leather sheathe strapped to his back. He approaches Drachen with a grin. He hops onto Drachen and fastens his saddle. He places the reigns in his mouth. "Ready?" Arthur said. "Ready." Drachen replied. Arthur pulled up on the Reigns and Drachen ascends into the sky. He flies over to where the golden dragon had landed. Drachen lands. "Greetings!" He says. He hops off of Drachen who stays where he landed. He walked over to the golden dragon and his rider. @Sexy McGee

"Who might you be?" Yakone drew his war axe and kept his shield out.

Gilder looked at Drachen "Brother . . . " (not real brother just cuz :P ) Gilder growled, showing a bit of his teeth. Yakone motioned his head for Gilder to get ready to get ready to fight.

"I'm just a traveller from Diarta. No need to be alarmed." Arthur's weapons were not unsheathed and Drachen wasn't in the mood to fight, he was simply lying down. "I just picked up word of dragon riders being around this mountain, I was curious." Arthur said calmly. "You wouldn't happen to know if they are here or not?" He walked forward even closer than he was previously, his hands were slightly raised, he didn't want any trouble obviously, just to talk. @Sexy McGee

The Numarian Woman met with the petite dragon rider at the ground, her coldblooded companion in tow. Soon a shadow hovered above, cloaking her in minimal darkness as she peered up to witness a dragon and its rider while her blue eyes glowed slightly, almost as if she were a feline of some sort. Small ember flecks scattered in her eyes, like fiery rubies floating in water. The rider over head yelled down at them and she would pause, ears straining to hear him over the wind before finally catching on to what it was he was trying to say. Parting her lips, she gasped - preparing herself to yell above - her left hand cupping her hip as she leaned left. "Yes! We saw him a little ways that way," the woman pointed the opposite direction, just south-east of where she had come from.

Zyla eased onto the ground, awaiting for something interesting to happen as she rested her maw beneath her paws. Silvery eyes looking to and fro before she blew at the dandelion weed before her. She watched as its seeds danced in the wind, traveling elsewhere before closing her eyes; long dark lashes brushing her cheeks. Naturally, dragons would have any signs of hair or fur, but due to Zyla being the dragon she was as she tended to the caves in the mountains, she had to endure the evolved formation of her being. She even felt strange with the long, thick, cuffed, dark mane that traveled down her lengthy neck and to where her shoulders met her neck, where the saddle rested. A small scruff resting at the base of the saddle, the scruff being the constant comfort and warmth, strangely making Zyla feel protected as well, even though she was not only coldblooded but breathed a misty indigo fire when she was angry, cold and dangerously chilling when she was intent to kill or in no mood what-so ever. In fact, her fire was strange indeed. Moirai remembered purposely tempting Zyla to burn her and when Zyla blew, she felt nothing but a strange, cold warmth before the heat settled in half a minute later. Burning her so bad, Moirai was lucky she took it out with her elements in time. @SolisNighsun @Guy
