Realistic or Modern Zombie Apocalypse

Tori was in a half crouch half walk kinda thing on her way up the hill while humming the mission impossible theme tune to herself, cause let's be serious..when you were creeping around in the middle of the night were things might eat you ya might as well lighten it up a bit...right? eh anyway it was dark and cold and she was past worrying about if she was gonna become a late night snack and more worried about getting frostbite on her toes or landing face first in the grass. Her eyes lit up when she started to get closer to the heat and she was looking forward to placing her hands over it to feel her fingers again.

However when she heard the voice that seemingly came from nowhere she nearly jumped out of her skin and just stopped herself short of letting out a yelp and sounding like an idiot..her eyes widened and for a second she thought there might be someone following her but her heart went back down to resting rate when she realized it was a walkie. She took a deep breath and let out a small laugh before sprinting over and scooping it up when Holiday had finished talking. In all honesty she was surprised it was him she hadn't seen him around and even then she wouldn't exactly say they had chatted much. "Yeah yeah i got it, i was worried no one would come" was all she said back. Tori wasn't into all this copy business..so general chit chat it was. She turned the volume down as low as she could but still being able to hear and followed his instructions. Afew moments later she found herself crouched down and looking around to see if she could spot Holiday anywhere.

@Tombstone

Holliday watched her reply through the scope, and heard the message through his radio. Then he saw her crouch and begin to look around. Slightly annoyed, he raised his walkie talkie and spoke directly into it. "For God's sake, get out of the light. That flare could be seen for miles, not just by you but by people who want to kill us. I have a perfect visual on you through my scope, meaning you're a perfect target for anyone with a rifle. Move, straight towards the summit of this hill. Ill call you when you getting warm, or if you can train your eyes you can catch the light of the fire glinting off of my scope once you're closer. But for now move."

It was safe to say he was beginning to grow agitated. The area wasn't safe. Somewhere off to his right her heard a zed softly grown. He took his eyes off of the scope and scanned around, at the same time his hand slowly worked it's way down to his boot and pulled unsheathed a knife. Finally, he saw the outline of the zed slowly shuffling towards the fire, towards Tori. He slowly rose, trying to stay silent, and crept after the walker, knife in hand. The walker had it's back to him, making things easy. Once he was close he lunged in, wrapping one arm around the neck. The other hand simultaneously slid the knife right next where the spine meets the base of the skull, allowing the blade to easily slide into the brainstem by means of the natural hole. Holliday twisted the knife a couple times just to make sure the job was finished. Satisfied, he slunk back into his perch.

He retrieved his rifle once more and shouldered it, peering back towards Tori's position. Everything still seemed fine from what he could see. "Come on, hurry up," he said to himself.

Miyuki watches Holliday drive off to get Tori. She crosses her arms and looks down a bit, 'That guy is going to get himself killed, one way or another.' She wanted to follow but decided against it as he was in a truck and he would be going too fast for her to follow. She looks over her shoulder and watches everyone; Jen, Austin, and Tammy all by the fire, the girl with the dog hanging around and Tiffany with Josh in one of the tents that her and Jen set up. Sighing, she walks over to a large tree and looks up it. Throwing her bow over her back as well as her quiver, she started to climb her way up the tree, to where she could get a good view of the camp site and the area around them. Someone needed to keep watch and everyone else were tired so she volunteered herself into taking the role. She finds a branch that could support her weight as she sits on it and leans against the trunk of the tree and looks around and down at the ground below her. 'This is going to be a long night,' she thinks to herself as she keeps an arrow and her bow close by, just in case.

@Shimakage Thunder @Dibbydoo @Lola Shimmer

She slowly sat on the floor, and layed her back on the ground, staring up at th night sky. Her dog explored the small area, not getting too far. She imagined things. Imagining scenarios that would never happen. Like a random Apple falling right into her hand. That would be helpful. She sighed, rubbing her belly lightly. It grumbled and hissed at her, accusing her of not feeding herself. She ignored it. It was painfull through, she hadn't filled for a while. It was like there was a beast in her stomach, dull nails trying to dig out of her stomach ever so slowly. She closed her eyes and blew out a little harshly, opening her eyes slowly once again. She looked, checking on what her mischievous dog was up to.

He was trotting about the camp, sniffing the air. He had been taught to do this. Making sure there were no Zeds or Imbicille threats around. Nikole let out a quick but sharp whistle. The dog turned its head sharply, and came running at her with a dangerous speed. She braced herself for the playful attack, the puppy colliding with her side. She laughed lightly as she attempted to pet it, the dog moving all about, making it even harder for her to grab hold of the over exited dog.

Austin let out a light snort when Jennifer mentioned leadership, mentioning both he and Holliday. Was this group getting to that stage? The stage where they needed someone to make final calls and big decisions? They'd all known each other for only a few days. Of course Austin wanted nothing to do with that sort of responsibility which was why he found himself a little amused. "Not much for democracy huh?" He'd asked with a cocked head.

Though when she brought up her words from earlier he let out a huff, turning his head back to look at the fire with a shrug. "Free world and all that. Say what you want to say, but don't just regret it later." It only served to have Austin second guess himself further now.

Miyuki looks down at Jen and Austin's conversation. She sighs as she thinks about what Jen said about a leader. Jen did have a point, that they did need a leader but her question is if they are ready to officially become a group....then again....it would be easier for them to group up and take some pressure off of one another. She looks down again at Jen and Austin and decides to speak up, "A leader would be a good idea, but that all depends if everyone can trust him or her. They will have to make hard calls, sometimes having to chose life or death. To be honest, I don't know if I can trust anyone fully to make that call all by themselves." She sighs as she looks up though the trees into the now dark sky. She had a group before, with a leader....but it didn't end up so good as she was the only one left alive.

Tori was in her opinion making good headway toward the location Holiday had directed her when she heard the walkie start to crackle again. She pulled it out of her back pocket so as to get to hear it better with the volume being so low but her eyes quickly began to narrow in annoyance at the message she received. "Rude." was all she had to say back to that and she promptly shoved the walkie into her pocket once more though picked up her pace a little. She was trying not to fall over cause she was more than clumsy, it wasn't like she was trying to get them both killed or something. Tori screwed her face up a bit she was grateful he came but still..eh she was finding a quick replacement for grumpy she would need to find Austin a new name at this rate.

She did as she was told though and headed toward the summit her eyes searching in the dark for that glint he said she might see and it only took afew moments until it caught her eye. She kept on moving as she pulled the walkie out once more "I see you" she released the button that allowed her to talk and stowed the device in the safety of her pocket once more..a slight rustling nearby made her pause for a second and her hand gripped her knife in her boot, however she wasn't to sure where it was coming from and let the knife go to move a bit faster and it wasn't that much longer until she could physically see Holiday and she waved.

@Tombstone

"Good, Ill start working your way." Holliday replied to Tori's last comment. She'd past out of the light minutes before and he'd had a hard time trying to follow her in his sights. Instead he kept his focus on the campfire below to see if anyone else tried to approach. No one came. Thinking they were in the clear, Holliday stood up, slowly to not make a sound. He quickly slung his rifle on his back, opting to use one of his revolvers instead. A scoped rifle would be virtually useless with zero visibility. By now he could make out her outline, a good 20 yards below him. He carefully began ease his way down the hill, trying not to make a noise.

Finally he reached her. For the most part she seemed alright, which Holliday found fortunate. "Alright," he said in a low but audible voice, "Glad to see you're still among the living. Sorry if Im being awful blunt right now but we need to move. I have more information on those who attacked us, and they are presenting a real threat, so we must be careful. Im parked on the other side of this hill at the base. We'll walk around at our current elevation and cut straight down once we are in line. Be careful though, I killed a zed heading towards the fire not 5 minutes ago. Stay as quiet as you can for now, in 15-20 minutes we should be home free."

Holliday heard something move to the side of him, it was a zed. He quickly leveled his sixgun, but thought better of priming it and shooting. Instead in a fluid he just bludgeoned the damn corpse on the top of it's head. The truth was that pistol whipping with revolvers was a very practical strategy, given their long steel barrels worked like crowbars or hammers. A few quick swings later and the corpse was down. After taking a deep breath, he turned to Tori and gave her a small smirk. It was his way of saying, "See what I mean."

@Lola Shimmer

Tori didn't bother to reply when he said he would start working her way, it didn't really warrant one and there was no point in making extra noise. Sides if she kept going the right way they oughta run into each other pretty quickly. The woman took another deep breath realizing that today had been the only time she had been on her own since she met the group and it wasn't like life was a barrel of laughed before that. She really was lucky her plan had worked or she could have been stuck out here not knowing if any of them were dead or alive. That ran a shudder down her spine but it was quickly pushed aside to focus on the here and now.

Tori paused when she heard noise not to much infront and she got ready to go for her knife again if need be but as Holiday's figure came into view she relaxed. She stopped walking but stayed low...he had said about other shooters after all. Tori laughed when he said he was glad she was still in the land of the living "The way this world is quickly turning to shit i would say it is more land of the dead" she knew what he had meant but she smirked anyways before going quiet to listen. She decided not to comment on the blunt thing and she just nodded her head at the exit plan "Sounds good, sooner the better" she muttered. She never thought she wold actually miss that stinking old mil..curiosity started to creep up on her though at what they knew about this group that attacked them. Obviously it wasn't good news but that conversation would have to wait.

When holiday suddenly moved and aimed with his gun this time Tori did recover her knife swiftly, she managed to nick her leg in the process but nothing serious just a scratch. When holiday beat her to the punch so to speak she let out a relieved breath but she was also glad to have learnt something new about herself, Her first instinct had been to attack it..she had always wondered if she could be able well least now she knew she would try. She raised an eyebrow and rolled her eyes at the smirk as if to say 'yeah yeah i get it' and before they wasted anymore time she began to make moves on there exit plan.

@Tombstone

The two of them trudged on through the darkness, trying to circus navigate the hill. Holliday led, as he wanted to stay inside the tree-line to avoid exposing themselves for too long. It seemed to take forever, but it was only just a few moments. Along the way he noticed a small group of Zeds and quickly stopped Tori. He motioned for her to get low just as he had. After a while the undead passed on through, allowing the pair to continue their journey.

Once they'd finally rounded the hill, Holliday paused and took in the surrounding landscape and the town. He couldn't make out much with only the moonlight light his view, but he could make out the general outlines and boundaries. The stars however, he could see with perfect clarity. They were beautiful, and for the first time in a long time he drew a genuine smile. It only lasted for mere moments though, as something quickly changed his mood. He saw a light move around slowly in the city. Then another, and another. It is said that a human eye can detect a candlelight from 10 miles away at night, and these lights were brighter. THe figured they were from vehicles based on how they moved. They seemed to be fanning out, a search party. "Shit." Holliday said, "Those lights are bad news. We need to get the hell out of dodge before they come our way. And they will come our way after we sent out a flare."

Holliday picked up his pace going down hill. Time was precious, every second counted. If the enemy was smart they would try to do a sweep of the river, eventually finding the others. They would have till morning at best, meaning he would have to go and alert them. Finally the truck came into view and he reached into his coat pocket for his keys. He unlocked it from a distance and the headlights shot on. "Shit, come on lets hurry so we can kill those lights quickly." Holliday rushed in and put the keys in the ignition. "So...... Jonny Cash's greatest hits or the Foo Fighters. Your choice of music."

@Lola Shimmer

Tori just followed along behind and taking Holdiday's lead. She wasn't all that bothered at being the follower right now since she had no idea where she was going. She rubbed at her face as exhaustion was trying to make it'self known. What she wouldn't give for an undisturbed nights sleep, Wishful thinking she thought to herself. She really couldn't sxee that happening anytime soon. Tori skidded to a stop when Holiday came to an abrupt halt in front of her and she looked at him questionably before hearing the Zeds. She quickly lowered herself down and waited on them to pass.

She was glad the group past without any bother and they could carry on moving and she began to get lost in her own thoughts again when the pace picked up. She caught the look on Holiday's face from the side of her eye and smirked "Only good thing about this whole mess is that you can see the sky again" she stated simply and she opened her mouth to say more but promptly shut it when he swore..her eyes followed his gaze and she finally tained her own sight on the beacons of light. "damn"

"Yeah got it" Tori agreed when he stated they needed to get the hell out of doge the woman already picking up her own speed, She was glad when she finally saw the truck just ahead and was even more glad for the light so she could actually see her footing but she knew it could draw attention to them which wasn't great. Tori was in the car and buckled down before the keys even met the ignition and she smirked at the music choices. "I'm thinking some ring of fire if you got it since this all seems very territory wars." she decided with a nod. Besides ti was hard to beat a good ole bit of jonny. "Let's gun it"

@Tombstone

"If I have Ring of Fire," he mused. He pressed power button on the cars audio system and selected disk number 1. He then glanced over a few tracks until he reached the appropriate one. Within a few moments he was cruising down the road, windows rolled down, singing along to the song. "I fell in to a burnin' ring of fire. I went down, down, down. And the flames went higher. An it burns, burns, burns. The ring of fire, the ring of fire."

All in all, it was nice. He had a chance to cool his head and think about what future would bring. The pressure was momentarily off, he only had to focus on the road ahead. He eventually stopped singing and bugged the woman next to him. He figured it was a decent time to fill her in on all that had happened. He gave her the basics, told her about the men he killed, what he had learned from them. He told her of the hospital, and his plan to not only guarantee their safety, but to save Jen's life as well. "Thats basically the long and short of it. Pretty clever of you to come up with that morse code idea, but you lucked out. Most people don't know a lick of it, other that SOS maybe. I barely knew enough to get the just of it, but I'm glad it worked out in the end. How have you been holding up?"

"Well mister let me tell you this, If you have a greatest hit album and it doesn't have Ring of fire on it then you sir have been robbed!" Tori declared and she relaxed back against her seat when the music started to fill the car. She smiled slightly glad to be able to relax for the moment and at least it was warm in here. She hummed along to the tune under her breath in time with Holiday's singing and she almost laughed at how normal this was considering the scene they had just come from but hey you had to enjoy the little things. She closed her eyes for a second and imagines she was just in a normal car ride, something as simple as driving home from work. It was funny how all the things that were considered boring before the world turned to shit kinda seemed like heaven now. She simply stared out the window as they drove not really seeing much in the moonlight but watching the shapes of the night fly past the window distorted b the speed of the vehicle was enough to keep her occupied for now. "Hey, we should start a karaoke club" she joked "I vote we add costumes" Tori smiled at that before going back to staring out the window.

Tori pushed the thick of blonde hair back from her face and turned her attention back to the man in the seat next to her's as he began to fill her in on just what all she had missed out on and by the time he had finished her eyes were wide in both worry and intrigue. It was allot to take in and it was a very clear and present threat..something did need to be done about..as for the hospital idea...well it was risky sure..hell more than risky but if it gave them somewhere safe and medicine for jen. In her book it had to be considered if they could come up with a decent enough plan it had to be done, They could keep traveling and finding shelter all they wanted but eventually they were going to run out of fuel, food everything and they couldn't run forever..that wasn't a life.

"Well, damn you guys sire have been busy.." Tori mused and shifted in her seat to get more comfortably, Her lips curved at the edges to form a small smile when he commented on her idea "Yeah well i had told Jen what i did for a living back home and i guess i just hoped someone would know it was me even if they didn't make the code out, Thanks though". Her voice had a not to common serious tone when she spoke again and her word were sincere "Thank for coming, I know it was a huge risk and well all of you could have just left me for the safety of the whole group. So i'm grateful" Tori added the last part awkwardly, She wasn't great at niceties. Her fingers tapped lightly on the dashboard along with the music still as way of distraction for herself. "Well i'm breathing, still moving and still got plenty of fight n me and now we have a plan to move forward..so i guess i'm good, you?"

@Tombstone

"Im here," Holliday said without giving it much thought, "still kicking, about as good as it ever gets for me really. We should be getting there in about 10 more minutes. When we get out just be ready for anything. Hopefully you can have a happy reunion, but there aren't any guarantees like that anymore."

Holliday turned his attention back towards the road. The track shifted from Ring of Fire to Folsom Prison Blues. This time he only tapped his free hand on the side of the armrest, not wanting to give Tori any more crazy ideas. Finally the light from the fire drew near. He slowly pulled up taking in the surroundings. Everything seemed normal, he hoped they wouldn't hide in the bushes like they had before, but he wouldn't blame them if they did. "Well, were here."

"Cheers to that" Tori replied at the mention of no guarantees anymore and she raised her hand as if she held a glass in it, She wished she held a glass in it. Her hand fell into her lap and she brought her other arm up and leaned on the car door, resting her chin in her palm so she could lean against it as a head rest. She could have happily fell asleep right there, it had been a long and hellish day. She gave a simple thumbs up when she was notified it would be about ten minutes until arrival and she let her eyes drift closed. Although she didn't fall asleep it was night to just rest for a moment and let the rocking motion of the vehicle relax her some.

Her eyes flew open when Holiday's voice broke the comforting background noise of the music and Tori sat up fully, peering out the window suspiciously. She hoped the camp was alright but she remembered the advice to be ready for anything and gripped her shot gun in her hands before opening her door to get out. Tori slipped out of her seat and landed lightly on the ground with a smile before she looked around for the others.

Miyuki sighs as she turns her head back to the woods. She knew that they didn't care about her input. She turns her head and sees some light, two of them actually. Miyuki sees headlights as she quickly gets ready to shoot her arrow right at the driver's seat until she sees the familiar license plate, Holliday's truck. "Guys, Holliday's back," she said as she moves to get a closer look into the cab, "and Tori is with him!" she says as she smiles as the other girl gets out of the cab of the truck. She was glad that the other girl was safe and sound as she drops herself down and goes up to the duo. Miyuki goes though her bag and gives Tori and Holliday both a protein bar and a bottle of water, "Good thing you guys aren't dead." She says as she swings her pack over her shoulder. "The others are at the fire, go over there and get warm."

Tammy for once fell into a deep sleep she was snoring slightly inside the campsite leaning against a rock that was the pillow for the night. her hair stunk, no makeup, face looked horrible, body sore and achy, everything was made better from her deep sleep.

Tammy awoke inside of an rv park, just yesterday it was inside of a closet of a house surrounded by corpsers. She actually slept in a bed. the place she set camp in for the night was one of those old aluminum trailers but all the windows were boarded up except the sunroofs to get sunlight. the trailer smelled like an old person home and she was glad no bodies desided to pay her a visit during the night. The trailer park was in the woods outside of the town she was just in. the place seemed to be left alone and untouched by this worlds grim demise. she stretched and searched her cupboard chuckling as she came across 2 cans of spam and a can of beans. she smiled "this'll work" she turned on the propane to the trailer which was inside a back closet and begun to use the dusty stove.

this was her first hot meal in a while besides the MRE's she cherished every single bite and ate like a rabid animal. she was used to eating 4 meals a day with a snack in between each one. so this was still hard for her to come to terms with. she finished her meal and walked outside to see not a single moving object besides the windmill. she could honestly stay here a while. it just would not be a good place since this rv isn't excactly bulletproof or a real building for that matter. she sighed and begun to collect some supplies. at this point she knew the further away from the city she got the less corpsers there would be. she was in college only months ago designing drafts of buildings and pictures of projects shed hope to accomplish one day. She had a tendency to think pretty on her feet and usually used to brainstorm ideas for new plans or inventions along the way. she then continued to search the trailer and opened a shelf littered with old books. she picked some up and some of the others were thrown out of the way. she hesitated to throw one of the books... she read the cover outloud, " art of preserving," and it had a mason jar on the cover with fresh looking peaches inside of it. Tammy then flipped through it and read on how you will pressure seal it using boiling water and you can preserve almost any meat with smoking and any vegetable with vinegar to pickle it. she stuffed it into her pack, knowledge was power and this book seemed to be pretty useful in the future. she was never a big reader more so a big drawer more hands on, especially in the gym and such.

Tammy then stood up, she remembered there was a map in the middle of the rv park. she might be able to use it to find something worth moving toward someplace with security and supplies, maybe people. She was wandering aimlessly at this point in time she was keeping an eye out for an opportunity. Just like her situation yesterday at the house with the horde of undead.

She grabbed her gear and made her way to the center...the map had been painted...in huge black spraypaint letters it said, 'bodies coming from the north' over the glass map. she looked closer.

the paints still wet...

Tammy looked around furiously drawing her pistol which would not help her as she did not know how to shoot but shes better off threatening than she is looking vulnerable out in the open. she looked at every moving shadow every sound she turned her head to. she searched to locate footprints or clues, something that was giving away the persons position. she dared not call out. instead she took the painters advice and started to move south. all her gear was already on her and she took another 5 days of supplies from the rv and even locked it and hid the leftovers she couldn't take with her in case she were to ever return key tied to her necklace. 'someone is watching me whoever he or she is must be nearby.' she wasn't prepared to meet this person. she took off her shirt just in her sports bra and begun to run as she wadded up the shirt and put it in her pack. the only place next is to continue south and hope the best.

Tammy let out a snore by the fire as she continued to sleep and she twitched a tad and repositioned herself in her sleep.

(Ok so i am sorry i did not give everyone a chance to post but i mist go to bed so ima take Tori out of the way)

Tori sorta blinked when miyuki was suddenly in front of them and she found herself the proud owner of a protein bar and a bottle of water. She laughed a little to herself and shook her head "Thanks.." she smiled softly for a second at the gesture before it was gone when she let out a long yawn..she glanced over catching Tammy twitching in her sleep and decided that she had the right idea, She needed to crash out too and hard. "There is soe chocolate bars in here..help yourselves" Tori gestured to her bag as she pulled it off her back. "I am glad you are all ok..and to be back" She added over her shoulder making way to the fire.

When she was close enough to get the heat but not to be blinded by smoke or ash she dropped her bag to the ground and sat down next to it. She only sat for afew moments. Long enough to eat the protein bar and take a drink. She dug around in her backpack and pulled out her hoodie scrunching it up in a ball. Tori set it on the ground and put her bag at her feet with one of the strap wrapped around her ankle..just encase. She lay down on her side her shotgun wrapped in her arms encase they had a rude wake up call..and with the fire blasting nearby and heating her, the comfort of being back among the group again and jonny cash still ringing in her ears it wasn't long until she drifted off to sleep.

Inside her tent, Tiffany was simply trying to put Josh to sleep, wanting to have a good night's rest so that she could have the energy to travel in the morning. She didn't know how much longer she had until giving birth, because her water could break at any time. Hopefully it would not be at an inconvenient time, like during a Zombie Attack or a Firefight. Laying on her side, she draped a blanket over her and the infant and closed her eyes, knowing that she was safe.

Jennifer tilted her head at Austin's comment. Not much one for democracy?

"No, I am 100% for democracy. But given our circumstances, I think we can use a chain of command, or a leader or leaders. Think of it like the old battles back in the Revolutionary War or Civil War. The generals or any other leader would be among the first to lead their men into battle. My thinking is we need that for now, until we find a place to settle down. Then, we bring democracy into full play."

Austin then went on to respond, rather vaguely, to her second apology for ripping into him earlier.

"Free world, yes. But regrets can be made with every word spoken out of your mouth. Sometimes, I have a true reason to be regretful. And I do. You can say not to regret the very words I choose to speak, but the truth of the matter is that I do regret them," she paused, before continuing. "That's all I have to say about that," doing her best Forrest Gump impression.

Miyuki then decided to chime in on the leadership conversation. And her one point she made was valid. She said she wasn't sure if she trusted someone to call all of the shots. Jennifer could feel the same way, but she felt that soon there will be a point where someone has to call the shots. Someone will have to help them stay together. They could use a chain of command, or a general to lead them into battle until they find a place to settle down and fortify. Just as Jennifer was about to respond, headlights were seen.

It was Holiday.

The truck stopped, and out stepped Holiday and Tori. He brought her back! This made Jennifer smile, as she felt as if Tori was a friend of hers. Not just a member of the group, but a friend.

"It's good to see you made it out alive," Jennifer said, giving Tori a quick hug. "Are you okay? What happened when they attacked us? Where did you go? Oh, hold on one second."

Immediately after saying this, Jennifer turned to Holiday and walked towards him.

"Any suspicious activity you noticed you want to report? Oh, and my flare gun, please," she said to him, asking for it back.

When Jennifer quickly glanced behind her, she saw that Tori already made her way to sleep, it appeared. She must've been exhausted.

@KathleneWilliams2121 @Crono @Lola Shimmer @Tombstone

Miyuki nods over at Tori who went to sleep as she looks over at Holliday and Jennifer. Miyuki looks over at Jennifer who was asking about activity and her flare gun, "Why do you say it as if he has something to hide?" She asks as she looks at the girl. "Besides, I'm keeping watch tonight so I will be able to see anything happening a mile away. You both should go get some rest." With that said, she goes over to a tree and climbs up the trunk to get on some high up branches. She was a little ticked off that Holliday left her to go find Tori , 'Everyone looking up to me, please. The only one who would look to me is Josh because he literally has to look up to see me,' She thinks to herself as she makes herself comfortable in the tree way up high.

@Jennifer Shotain @Tombstone @Crono @Lola Shimmer

As Nikole cuddled her over active dog, she tried to get some shut eye, the dog moving about in her arms before relaxing and resting his head on the inside of her elbow. She smiled to herself as she felt the warmth of the dog cover her, before slowly drifting off to a wavering sleep, being able to hear things, but not really being able to move. She just lost need to the voices, before she shut down to a compleatly settled sleep,my her dog keeping a lazy look out as he rested wi her.

After a few minutes the dog decider to leave the sleeping girl, to sniff about, maybe even eat something. She walked to the fir and sniffed it, turning her head back and soon enough just sniffing on people's feet and legs, moving from person to person.

Holliday politely waved away Miyuki's bar and water. He had a small flask which was relatively full with clean H2O and he still had plenty of rations for himself. It was better if she saved it for when age would inevitably need it later on. Still he appreciated her kindness in the gesture. "No thanks, I'm glad to see that no trouble has come your guys' way since I left."

When Jen readily asked for her flare gun he took a step back and retrieved it from his car door, opening the action to make sure it was clear. With a quick flip of the wrist he spun the gun and readjusted his grip so that he was holding by the barrel and that Jen could grab the handle. "I'm sure she didn't intend for it to sound that way, Miyuki. There's plenty to report unfortunately. I saw lights from several vehicles moving across the area of town we are at. Since they were fairly evenly distributed and moved in a sweeeping motion, I'd have to reckon it's a search or scouting party. This tells me a few things. First is that they don't think we've moved as far away as we already have. Second, it won't take much longer for them to do so, we probably have until morning at best. When they do they'll probably rightly assume that we used the river as a marker. Third, a good portion of their men will be scouting this area tomorrow leaving thier base less defended. Fourth is that they're probably after a reckoning (revenge)."

When he was done sharing his findings he glanced over to where Miyuki was now perched. "Would you please go inform the others, Jen? I'd be grateful." Holliday took off his coat and put the bulk of his gear on the drivers side door of his truck. When he was done he was left wearing more basic clothing. He still kept his knife and a small revolver on him just in case. Then he casually wandered over to where Miyuki was keeping watch. Slowly, Holliday lowered himself and sat at the base of her tree, leaning his back on its trunk. "Are you alright?" He said without looking up. Instead he just stared out into the darkness, watching the shadows which the fire behind him cast.

Miyuki hears Holliday's voice and sighs, "Ya I'm fine, why do you ask?" Miyuki looks down at Holliday who was looking out into the darkness. No she wasn't alright. Earlier that day they lost Skylynn, leaving Josh all alone without a mother and a father, they lost their hide out and though it was only theirs for a few days, it started to feel like a safe place. They lost David as well as he just left out of no where, guess him staying wasn't a sure thing to begin with..........then again maybe he had something to do with the radiers who came and killed one of their own. Tiffany, like it or not, will be having a child soon so we are crunched for time to find somewhere safe for her to give birth. Everything crashed down all at once and Miyuki was surprised how everyone was able to hold it together. "What about you," She asks as she looks down at Holliday, "You ok?"

"Oh, no. I don't mean it as if he had the intention to hide anything. But being up on that hill after the flare went off, he could have seen if anything was coming our way. I was just asking if he did notice anything," replied Jennifer to Miyuki. "I didn't mean to make it sound that way."

Turning back to Holiday, he had turned around and retrieved her Flare Gun. Flipping open the action and checking it, then spinning the gun around so the pistol grip was facing her, she placed her hand in the grip. She took the flare gun, and put it in her pocket. Holiday reaffirmed what she said to Miyuki about making it sound as if she thought he was withholding information. This led Holiday to bring up bad news. He went on to explain other and Miyuki what his findings were, and his other thoughts along with this. Once finished, he asked her to go report it to the group.

"Yeah, sure thing," she said, before turning around and walking to the campfire.

Once at the campfire, she looked around at everyone. Breaking news like this isn't the easiest thing to do after a day like this. It only makes it longer. But this was urgent.

"Hey," Jennifer started, clearing her throat before continuing. "I have some unfortunate news to report to you. Holiday noticed while he was up on the hill that there were what seemed like headlights from cars roaming around in a sweeping motion. We can only assume that this is a searching party from the group of scavengers we met earlier in the day. With this, Holiday feels like we have until the morning at best until they find us. But, he believes that this means the hospital defenses might be weakened because of this. So, because of this, we might not have the time to stay here much longer. The longer we sit here, the better a chance we have of them stumbling across us, and the time window for a less fortified hospital narrows. Holiday only asked that I report this. With this, I want to add that this might be the first time we have to make a group decision on what to do."

Jennifer turned and faced Holiday, whom was talking to Miyuki.

"Sorry to interrupt," she said, "but we may need to have our first group discussion on what we do. Those people who are searching could find us the longer we stay here, and the hospital's window for a less fortified place narrows. So, with this, I think we need to discuss what we do, together, as a group. That's how I feel, at least. Would you like to offer your two cents?"

This was the first time anyone ever discussed a group discussion on a matter. Jennifer had only realized this until she was finished talking. She has already categorized them as a group. But, in this situation, regardless of how anyone feels, they are a group, and they have to make a decision.
