Realistic or Modern Zombie Apocalypse

It occurred to Jennifer that she had never actually said what happened to her brother. All this time, she had been bringing him up, talking about him as if the others knew him in the slightest. But, they hadn't. Many people didn't have a chance to know him. But as that thought entered her head, Miyuki continued on speaking.

"I hope the others are okay, too. I was getting fond of the people we are around. Being alone for so long really makes you appreciate a good group of people when they come along. The company is rather nice. But, they should be fine."

Looking around the area, Jennifer scanned it with her eyes for possible walkers or people. The surrounding area seemed clear, but Jennifer still kept a close eye around her. She worried the fire would draw unwanted attention.

"You know, I never really said what happened to my brother," Jennifer said to Miyuki, still scanning the perimeter. "When I was nine and he was six, we were all at a lake, enjoying our time, swimming about. We never knew that lakes could have brai---," Jennifer stopped abruptly talking.

Headlights appeared behind the trees, coming towards their area.

"Headlights, move! Get into the woods," she said to Miyuki and Tiffany, grabbing her rifle.

Jennifer knew it was most likely their friends making it back. But, they had to be careful. They only took one car there. After Doc's death, they couldn't take any chances. Jennifer ran herself into the woods and hid behind a tree. She hoped the others would follow suit. They didn't know who those cars were. They had to be careful.

When Jennifer called for them to get into the Woods, Tiffany raised an eyebrow. When she saw the mystery headlights and Jennifer practically cutting and running, she held Josh close and drew her pistol. Using the Jeep as cover, she hid on the opposite side of the headlights before calling out to Jennifer. "You have the Rifle, keep me safe from a distance!" she said, peering from her hiding spot and looking at the oncoming headlights.

Tammy awoke from her sleep to bump from the horrible road right off the river. they travelled a great distance it felt like but she knew from the light in the distance that there was either the rendezvous point with the rest of the group or it was going to be a rude awakening for her. She was still tired and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. "Austin? is that them?" She asked pulling her neck adjusting the seatbelt. She couldn't se anyone and Longshots headlights beamed right behind their vehicle. as the pulled in to the campsite Tammy noticed the jeep the pregnant lady drove. This was it all right. Which is a good thing. She slowly opened the door. "its their camp alright Austin!" she said happier knowing she was at a place to finally kind of relax. Tammy was up for almost 18 hours that nap made it worth it. The night at the mill she slept great but woke up early. The one thing Tammy always tried to get was her sleep whether she slept in a tree, closet, a barn, a trunk of a car. She did it all. She was alone for so long she understood the value of being physically dialed in.

She walked up to the fire and sat down. She thought a fire was a bad idea but the heat rose her morale so much she figured if anyone would see it they would have already at this hour. since she had no watch it was probably around 9pm. It was later than usual by then shes camped out somewhere closed up for the night.

When she saw that it was Tammy, she holstered her pistol and cradled Josh close, despite her belly making it difficult. "Well, I'm glad to see that we've been reunited. Hopefully now we can catch our breaths." Tiffany expressed her concern before removing her arm to hold her belly since it was starting to hurt, but she still cradled Josh close and made sure that he was quiet and resting peacefully. Since she was her Mom now, Tiffany wasn't sure if she could tell him that he was pretty much adopted, but they looked nothing alike, so chances were he would figure that out on his own.

Miyuki hears Jennifer warn them about headlights and climbed up a tree close to the tent where she was and pulls out her bow and arrows, 'Keep steady....' She thinks as she puts down her quiver and picks up her bow and arrow and draws it. She looks over at the others who were on guard. She closes one eye to get a better aim at the windshield when she sees Tammy pop out of the cab of the truck. Sighing she picks up her quiver and jumps out of the tree and lands on her feet, knees bent. Miyuki then walks over to the others who were in the cab, "I agree with Jen over there.....did you find anything?" She asks as she puts away one of her arrows.

Once they were sure it was the others camp Austin let out a small sigh of relief, he didn't like the thought of running into more survivors and then needing to search more. The man thought about just staying in the car, but convinced himself he needed to get out. So he did, following Tammy towards the fire. Luckily his leg muscle was relaxed and he wasn't forced to limp for the most part.

Though nobody was in sight which for a moment was eerie, until Jennifer made herself known in the nearby trees followed by the other two girls. "We found Holliday." Austin spoke before taking a seat by the fire and just glancing at their surroundings. "Oh," Blurting out as he looked back in the others direction, "and another mouth to feed. Well, technically two I think." The dog, Austin had forgotten about the dog. To emphasize his words he jacked his thumb over his shoulder towards where they'd parked, more headlights were shining as it looked as though Holliday and his truck were now arriving.

Tammy glanced up at jennifer who approached from behind her neck twisting kind of awkwardly. " Yea we got caught up I guess." She said. Exhaustion was definitely getting to her and the nap made it worse. She had nowhere to sleep for the night and out in the open wasn't going to happen. Even longshot cashed out for the night. That means he truly must be tired.austin commented and tammy turned, "I'm sure we all can pull our own weight she helped longshot afterall." Tammy said once more. For once her energy level was depleted and she had nothing left to get sassy or even be kind of.....a bitch. For the sake of her health she drew out her last granola bar and ripped into it she gulped it down like it was her last meal. Tammy realized her last real true meal was that deer meat jenn got for them.... 'fuck I'm hungry.' She thought. She then stood up.

"I think I know how we will raid this hospital..." Her mind geared up......typical tammy northland. Impulsive and egotistical

When Tammy said something about raiding a Hospital, Tiffany became concerned. With her tent all set up, she decided to go take care of Josh for a bit and calm him down to get him to take a nap so that she could relax as well. When he finally fell asleep, she decided to get out and have some fresh air. "Why don't we worry about that tomorrow? Its kinda late and we're all tired." she replied.

The new girl had gone with the two, staying silent the whole way. She didn't speak much, her eyes staring holes into every tree and anything else that had passed her window. She didn't talk, not even a sound to be heard from her breathing. The dog was the same too, ,anhing beside her, it's head in her lap. Could she really trust these people? They seemed alright to her, but ther was still this gut feeling.

She snapped out her thoughts as the car stopped. She had no idea what was going on, so she kept her silence. Nikole was the last one to get out. Due to her short legs it gave her a little trouble to get down, her dog happily laughing off and standing beside her. She looked at the group, and noticed something. Most of them were girls. She shrugged it off, and slowly made her way forward , smiling sheepishly at the group. He didn't seem too happy that her and her dog had joined, so she kept it silent.

Tori had spent what felt like hours walking around and looking for the others...when in reality she had only spent around two in the place she had first found herself in after the break away from the mill...she had done a little scouting and found a road map and was able to salvage some bits and pieces of food from some nearby buildings. There hadn't been much left, some out of date chocolate bars and some cans of soda but it was better than nothing and at this rate she wasn't going to let it pass it by. She had an uneasy feeling in her stomach like it was twisting all up inside her by now, she had hoped she would have found the others by now. Anyways she had used the map and drove on a bit further to what she hoped seemed like, likely areas they might stop at. It was getting dark though and her gas tank wasn't exactly full, she could drive round for hours and get no where and running out of gas in the middle of god know where was not at the top of her to do list.

Tori sat on the roof of her vehicle, legs crossed, chocolate bar hanging out of her mouth and map laid out on her knee. She held a small torch up with the other hand so she could look the map over. The blonde appeared to be on some sort of side road..there was tree's, upon tree's on one side of her and what looked like vast nothingness on the other. She let out a soft sigh..this was not panning out right a all. She plonked the torch on her lap an turned it off, it was dark but not so dark her eyes couldn't adjust and see somewhat, besides she didn't want to leave the light on to long encase it drew some unwanted attention toward her. should that be dead attention or otherwise, Bandits weren't her idea of good company either. She lay back on the roof and stared up toward the sky and used her fingers to massage her temples cause a hell of a headache was on its way. "Think Tori think" the woman muttered to herself. They couldn't have gone that far and surly...they would have noticed she was gone right? maybe they thought she was dead, she cursed at that and promptly sat up again blowing out an annoyed puff of air.

"Well this simply won't do" Tori announced to herself matter of factly and quickly slid off the roof taking map and all with her. She quickly shoved both torch and map back into her backpack and threw them into the passenger seat of rest once more beside her shotgun. She looked it forlornly and wished she really had, had time to learn a little more about using it but here's hoping she wouldn't actually have to use it. She stared at the wires she had salvages from the mill and the few other bits she had and looked at her radio.. "I wonder" she mused to herself...it was a long shot buuut if she could use what she had and her radio...if she could hijack the radio waves and somehow mess with one of the ones in the other cars...hell who the fuck know one of em might pick it up. She frowned it was a long shot and entirely depended on any of them being in or near there car..but maybe if she could do it enough they would catch on..she had told Jen she was into programming and all that right so maybe she would pick it up? "Here goes nothing" she whispered and pulled out her knife using it to jimmy the radio out of place and set to work.

Tori was working at it for over an hour but it had all her concentration and infact she was rather enjoying herself it had been a while since she had a technical challenge to face herself with, She used the wires she had and attached them to her radio to boost the signal..other she had stripped the rubber coating off and would attach them to the Ariel on top of the car and hopefully..connect to the radios of any cars or..any radio in general nearby, whens he was done wrapping this wire round that and replacing that component to over there her fingers were numb and her heart was beating a mile a minute..she had also managed to electrocute herself the once which wasn't great. Taking the spare copper wire she had stripped with her Tori climbed back onto the roof and took a deep breath she pulled the car Ariel up as far as it would go and began to attach the extra wires. Whens he was done she took afew moment to admire her work. "For the love of god work" she scolded as if it would take any notice of her...it was an inanimate object after all but still. With another climb inside the car Tori picked up her Frankenstein radio nervously and stared at it. She wouldn't be able to talk of course she had no mouth piece or anything like that but she would be able to turn it on fingers crossed and create some static..a kinda messed up Morse code if you liked. With a deep breath she sent a prayer to anyone or thing that would listen and switched it on.

Jennifer listened as Austin and Tammy explained what happened. She was happy to hear that they were able to find Holiday and bring him back with them. Holiday seems like a type of leader, in Jennifer's eyes. While she might not agree with some of the things he has done, such as running off after the attack at the mill, she did think that he could be someone who could lead. He's made it back after two crazy events in two days. The poor kid could use a break at this point. And from the looks of it, he is, as he hasn't come out of his truck. Maybe he was sleeping. Who knows? He deserves a rest.

Then, Austin mentioned something about a new person. I haven't seen this many people since this all started, she thought to herself. It was quite odd that she had been able to avoid so many people for so long, and then two days in a row, a bunch of people pop up. Looking towards the car, Jennifer watched as a young girl got out. However, she was surprised. Not by the girl, but by the fact she had a dog with her. A dog? A dog!? The thoughts rang around in her head. She hadn't seen a dog since her last one died a year before the world went to shit. She loved dogs, and was delighted to see one. The girl smiled, but Jennifer felt as if she wasn't happy, but maybe rather more confused and possibly timid, which Jennifer could completely understand. She shot her a smile back.

"Hello," Jennifer started, smiling back, "I'm Jennifer. I see you've got a dog there. What is it's name," she asked, through her slight southern accent.

From behind her, Tammy suddenly said something that caught her attention; the hospital raid.

"You have a plan," she asked, with an eyebrow raised.

In the background, Jennifer heard a noise. It sounded similar to Morse code. It seemed to be coming from a radio in a car.

"Wait, guys, you hear that? Is that Morse code...," she asked, confused.

@Shimakage Thunder @Dibbydoo @Lola Shimmer

The drive to regroup with the others had taken a fair deal of time. Holliday made the trip by himself, so he could silently reflect on this grim day. He had killed men, there was no easy way around that. "Huh-huh," he chuckled to himself. "Its a hell of a thing killin' a man," he softly spoke to himself, "Take away all he's got, and all he's ever gonna have....." Still, it wasn't his evil deeds that weighed so heavily on his mind. Somehow he thought about his luck, how he survived. For some reason he'd overcome many obstacles, and faced impossible odds. But with a cool attitude and quick hand, he'd beaten them all. Holliday knew this would not last, however. Someday, by tooth or bullet, he'd meet his end just like everyone else in this world.

When they finally reached the once distant campfire, familiar figures emerged from the surrounding woods. As Crono, Tammy, and the new girl exited their vehicle to greet the others, Holliday held back. He wasn't ready to face them just yet. Would they accept what he'd done? He also needed a well thought out plan for the hospital raid, otherwise he'd sound like a mad man. He still had to much to think about. "Damn, I need a smoke. He reached over into his center console and dug around. Finally he retrieved his lighter and second to last cigar. It was a bad habit he'd gotten into since the outbreak, but is cooled his nerves a bit. In the small flicker of the flame, he noticed his hands were stained black from the gunpowder he'd been using all day long. He sighed, and flicked the lighter off once the tip of the cigar glowed red. He puffed it several times as he thought, occasionally looking out the window and watching the others. They seemed to be getting along just fine.

After a while, he sorted out his affairs and finally exited his vehicle. He unplugged his phone before he did so and placed it in his front pocket. As he started walking over he heard static come out of the radio of the truck. When he unplugged his phone, it must have switched back to FM. He then made a 180 and trotted back to correct the issue, but noticed something strange, the static was blinking on and off. Thats when he heard Jennifer speak up.

"Wait, guys, you hear that? Is that Morse code...,"

"Duh!" he immediately said to himself. Holliday then listened in very closely. "Yes! It is!" It had been a while since he'd reviewed the morse alphabet, but he hoped he could piece it together. He'd remembered it incase he ever got lost on a hunting trip when younger. That way he could have signaled with a mirror or used smoke to send a message. Dot Dot Dash....... The full message was as followed.

".. - ... / - --- .-. .. / .-- .... . .-. . / .- .-. . / -.-- --- ..-"

Holliday had to listen to it several times to finally understand what it meant because each time there were several imperfections. "Guys! Its Tori, she made it out alive and is looking for us! We need to find a way to reply, soon! Who knows who else is picking this up. Ok lets brainstorm.... Gunshots would give us away to easy, parking up high and using head lights would also do the same. I don't have a radio to reply unless one of you have a CB on you. We can't wait until morning either to use dirty smoke, or mirrors to reflect sunlight." He tapped his cigar against the side of his pants, knocking the ashes to the ground below. "Any more ideas?"

Tammy halted her thoughts. The static shattered across the campsite. Holliday claimed that was Morse code she barely knew how that worked or what it was. She stood up slowly. Her bones and muscles ached. And begun to walk to holliday by the truck but ended up halting halfway. No need to listen to the sound if she didn't know the meaning.

He then brought up it was tori..... which she thought died. "That girl made it?" She questioned.

She then heard holliday mention that there had to be a way to contact her. Something not going to alert the other and such.

Her mind begun to think of the ideas that could be posed and the ways that would work.

Holliday brought up all valid ways of getting her but none would work well enough to not draw others attention. " how far could she be away from us is the problem? What if she's miles away?"

Tammy bit her lip she stretched her spine and recollected the final thought. "What if we just create a code back?"

Her eyes caught on Jennifer as she saw her smile. That gave her Atleast a little bit of onfidence. She smiled back with a slight Blushh looking down. The dog had trodden over to the new people, smelling them and getting a feel of their scent. Soon enough he went to Jenn, sniffing at her feet and legs, walking right back to the girl and lazily laying on the floor, resting his head on her food. " O-Oh, hi..The dogs name is L-Link.. " She said. Her voice was very timid and quiet. She wasntused to talking with people, she usually ran away from them. This was all new to her. But she guessed she could use some sort of teas, instead of just some dog. She looked down at the dog, who just sat there, eyes closed. Link was very relaxed, not having much of a care in the world.

She raised an eyebrow. Morse code? She didn't know that people could do that.. Well, she did, but not now days. She listened to them lightly, and flinched at Holidays excitement. She was a very skittish girl.

( I forgot the dogs name from before so Tis Link for now)

The new girl smiled back at her, and her dog walked over and sniffed Jennifer's feet. Jennifer really loved dogs, and seeing one made her happy. She looked at him, and gave him a quick pet, before he ran back to the girl.

It had seemed as if Holiday also had noticed the Morse code, as he came out and said it was a code that said it was Tori. Jennifer's eyes lit up with happiness. She liked Tori, and didn't want her to die. While she was skeptical of it being really Tori, she had to put her trust in Holiday, and faith in the message that it is her, in fact. If it were her, then the group had hit a hard place. How would they be able to transmit a message back? Surely, Tori was skilled with electronics, and she could create a message. But it seemed that no one in the group could. Ideas were being thrown around. No idea, however, seemed better than the other. Jennifer had something on her that could help, but seemed no more risky than the others.

"I have something that could help," started Jennifer, "but it would be no more risky than the other ideas proposed if we can't find a way to send a message back to her. About a month or two ago, I found a flare gun while I was scavenging at a nearby outdoor sporting good's store. I was able to get my hands on a pack of flares that glow in the dark. I would occasionally use them when I needed to get around a giant horde without being seen. If any of you saw giant, glowing flares at night, that was me. It catches the eyes of the walkers and they follow the flare. It is perfect for when you have a horde near you that is a danger to you. While it gives away our position, and draws walkers from all directions, it could give a signal to Tori. You can't miss them in the night. They're extremely bright, however, in this case, extremely risky. If worse comes to worse, and we can't figure out how to transmit a signal back to her, this is an option."

Dropping to a knee and taking her backpack off, she looked through her backpack. In there, she found the flare gun and the flares. Six remained. She held up the flare gun and one flare, then saying "here," holding it out to Holiday.

"If that is what we need to do, take it," she said, still holding it out.

Tammy glanced over at the flare jenn pulled out. She didn't know why she had so many but they worked much like making sound distractions worked with the horde at the homes she's needed to escape from. Tori was trying to communicate with them and tammy honestly held her mouth shut at the idea. She was ready to propose driving out to help find tori but she was exhausted and tired she was ready for bed. She knew her limits and she well reached them. She begun to realize tonight she's gonna have no where to sleep and no where meaning the ground next to the fire of the campsite. Tammy wanted to curl up and just fall asleep without fear even inside of a cupboard or locked inside a closet she felt safe at least able to sleep no problem but out here the fear was real. Tammy continued to listen shaking off the exhaustion. She pulled out water and started to chug some meanwhile not paying attention she was almost out of it she begun to mentally assess her supplies. She had a mere 3 day food supply of being conservative excluding the river for a water source.

Miyuki watches the group as Tori just sent them a mores code message. Jennifer gives a flare to Holliday as Miyuki speaks up, feeling a little nervous about the flare, "What about the raiders and those zombies? They're also going to see the flare, and give away our location. Plus we don't know where she is so what if she can't find it." Miyuki didn't feel safe giving up their location at the moment. They were in the middle of the woods with no shelter. If there were an attack they were big big trouble. Miyuki looks over at Holliday, "I can take that flare and fire it far away from us. That way if it is Tori, I can lead her back. If raiders and zombies find me, I can hide in the trees and take care of them." She had to admit, her plan wasn't very rock solid. Radiers would be the biggest problem, but she personally feels there was no other person for this. Everyone was tired from the trip, Tiffany was pregnant.....maybe Jennifer could go with her....but she would rather not risk anyone's life if she could.

@Shimakage Thunder @tammynorthland @Dibbydoo @Lola Shimmer

Holliday looked at the flare gun which Jennifer presented before him, and immediately the gears in his head started turning. It would be foolish to fire it off at their current location, as it would undoubtedly give away their position to others whom they wouldn't want finding them. Apparently Miyuki was thinking the same thing as he.

"No." He said simply before moving the cigar up to his lips and taking in a deep puff of it. The he slowly blew out the smoke. "You should stay here with the girls. If things get dangerous, I could probably handle it better than you could. Besides several people here look up to you, I'm more disposable." Holliday took the flare gun from Jennifer and casually felt the weight of it in his hand. He then looked to the west were he saw a small hill.

"Here's what ill do, Ill move about a mille and a half west to the base of that hill over yonder and shoot off that flare. As a precaution Ill then move about half way up and camp out, so I can have a more tactical position. If things get too hairy Ill shoot off a second flare. If y'all see that, pick up and leave. Don't stop moving until you're miles away, and don't bother trying to send a rescue because well be as good as dead."

Holliday sighed, then crushed out his cigar on a tree next to him. The orange light of the campfire flickered, across his face casting shadows over all of his features. Once again into the fray, did he know any other way? Struggle was his only true friend in this world. It loyally waited for him at every corner and followed behind him at a casual pace. Every time Holliday believed himself to be alone and beginning to crack, struggle appeared to take his mind off of things. For this, Holliday was grateful. Still, Holliday knew deep down inside, that one day his dear friend would betray him. He'd eventually fall behind, and be left with nothing but eternal silence. Holliday focused on the dancing flames of the campfire, and felt spark a new fire in his chest. "It just won't be today," he said under his breath.

Holliday then walked over to his truck and put the key in the ignition. "Im off," was his only farewell to the group. He drove to the hill as he said and once there did some preparations. First off he started a campfire to illuminate the surrounding. Next he found an abandoned car and pushed it closer before propping a corpse up in it to look like a person sleeping. It was far enough away from the light however that people wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't really a living person until they got close. Close enough to be in his rifle's sights. Holliday checked his radio to make sure Tori's signal was still transmitting, It was. He then took the flare gun and pointed it in the air. When he pulled the trigger, and intense light shot out of the barrel and into the sky. Holliday didn't stand around to admire it. He grabbed his scoped rifle and dashed about 75 yards up the hill. Once he'd found a decent spot, he sat down to wait. Hopefully Tori would arrive, and no one else.

Tori was sat in the front of her vehicle, torch in mouth and staring down at her Frankenstein radio..creation thing hmm she should give it a name she thought. Eh later she decided and set it on the passenger side, She didn't even know if it had reached anyone never mind anyone that wouldn't shoot her dead if they happened to find her. Her brown furrowed causing worry lines to appear but she lifted her hand and massaged them out forcing herself to relax. Heck she supposed she was just glad it actually appeared to work..it had been a real long shot. Tori smiled to herself but it HAD worked, A little pride came over her at that. It was probably the most helpful thing she had managed to do for herself since this thing started, Who knew if she got the right materials and somehow...miraculously got reunited with the group again she might be able to make them walkies. Tori pulled the torch from her lips a screwed up expression coming to her face at the metallic taste it left on her lips. 'Eugh' she wiped her mouth on the back of her sleeve and opened the door of the car and got outside. Her boots hit the ground with a light thud and she glanced around the area once more, Even with the flashlight on she couldn't see much it wasn't exactly a strong light, But then she supposed she ought to be thankful of that incase she drew unwanted company.

Reaching in she grabbed her back pack out and swung it around securing the straps on her shoulders and making sure it wasn't going to go anywhere if she needed to make a quick exit. Keeping the door open Tori grabbed onto the top of it with one hand and placed her other on the roof before using the foot well of the car as leverage to push herself up. It wasn't graceful but she manged to get onto the roof of the vehicle and give herself a better vantage point. She sat down cross legged and tilted her head back to stare at the stars... "Please let them not all be dead" she called as if she might actually get an answer. It was just then when something at the corner of her eye caught her attention. Tori was on her feet so fast she almost fell off the vehicle completely and she watched the flare shoot up in the distance and slowly fade as it made it's was back down. "YES!!!" the yell escaped the woman's lips before she thought better of it and her fists punch the air.

A happy laugh escaped her lips as she slipped off the roof and to the ground below, She felt lighter than she had since they all ran from the mil...one of them were alive! maybe even more. "Haha fricken right!" she declared and jumped into the drivers seat, the engine roared to life before she even closed her door right. A cloud of dust was all that was left behind as she hit it into gear and sped off in the direction of the flare...please please please! be someone i know she thought to herself. She reached over and turned her little creation beside her off...hopefully when they message stopped they would know she got their sign...besides from the look of it, it should only take her about 10-15 minutes to get to the flare if she kept this speed up. Infact it was exactly that giv e or take afew moment either side whens he saw the light from a fire a short distance away. She seen a car but she wasn't really close enough yet to make any sort of details out.

On her drive she had also come to the realization that there was a very good possibility this could not be anyone from her group at all so she turned her car off at the bottom of said hill and jumped out with her shot gun in her hand and her knife tucked into her shoe just incase she managed to get disarmed...to be honest she was better at fighting someone off that got too much up in her face than she was with the gun but hey..appearances couldn't hurt. She began to make her way up the hill cautiously and keeping her eyes peeled as she made way for the fire.

Holiday had taken the flare gun and looked at it. He offered his plan, and Jennifer listened. He was right that she should stay back. She herself was still injured, and the more rest she had, the better. She was, however, caught a little off guard by one of Holiday's comments about her.

Several people look up to me here, she questioned herself, How could he know that. I haven't been around for long, and I haven't done much to do that. Maybe it was a reassuring thing to say?

While she was arguing in her head if that was true, she snapped back to reality and looked up. Holiday had hopped in his truck, and started towards the hill he mentioned. Jennifer liked the plan. Holiday was far from disposable in her eyes, as he said earlier. He was a valuable asset to the small group, should they decide to formally stick together as a group. Out of all of them, Jennifer felt his was the most qualified to lead the group. Sure, she might not agree with everything he does, but he seems most fit to be a leader. Because of that, she felt he was not disposable whatsoever, as he said. Though she didn't have time to refute what he said, she would once he comes back, if he does. And being that he already had come back from two events that she thought he possibly wouldn't, then she had no doubt he would from this.

Picking up her backpack, she turned around and walked to the fire. Austin was there, sitting by himself. She found this odd. He hadn't contributed to the debate earlier. With what she knows of him, she would assume he would give his two cents into the conversation, probably grumpy in the process.

"Nothing to say," she said, sitting down near the fire to Austin. "Do you agree with his plan or not, or that this could even really be Tori?"

Tammys back arched as jennifer walked up while her and Austin sat by the fire. She kind of felt bad he seemed alot older than us. At least mentally, she listened as holliday left in a flash. For once all she wanted to do was sleep usually it was hard for her to sleep, especially with these people they knew her for a day. While she seemed to have a trusting personality toward Longshot the others seemed on and off. He just didn't care about what people thought nor seeing her as a threat right off the back. She smiled a bit deep in her thoughts. Longshot was a skilled shooter, unlike anything she'd ever seen, meanwhile jenn has her fucked up heart hut has made it this long, everyone here except the dog and his master seemed to have a strong will to live.

What made everyone so special? She continued to sit around the fire her eyes dazing in and out of consiousness. She was tired and felt all the exhaustion from the day creep up on her. Her breast were sore from swing her weapon today, her arms as well, neck stiff from lack of a real bed, supplies low, she began to drift into a sleep. One that hopefully would last a long time.

Austin had been lost in the flames as everyone else had spoke, planned, and moved on. He'd been fine where he was, and had heard enough of what was said to get the gist of what was going on. When Jennifer spoke, at first he hadn't reacted, not realizing it was towards him until she'd continued speaking. That's when he'd turned his head to look up at her and away from the fire, "Hmm?" Had been his instinctual reaction, "Well I don't speak morse code so who's to say it isn't? If she somehow got her name through the code then that's how he knew it was her, and nobody would know her name. So yeah it's likely her. As for the plan." Austin shrugged, "He runs off alone, what else is new?" There was a little agitation where Holliday's actions were concerned, if it was only himself the teenager was putting in danger then he'd be fine but he was risking the rest of their lives a little with these antics as well. "Not going after him again."

The man dreaded when the hospital conversation would come up again, likely when Holliday came back. Austin stood by his opinion that it was stupid...and if they all decided to do it anyways. Well, he wasn't sure he'd stick around for that part, he wasn't interested in watching another group getting torn apart. Especially one with so many young people, a pregnant mother, and a newborn. Austin let out a sigh, "How's the wound?" He asked, eyeing the spot momentarily before looking back up at her face.

Holliday kneeled from his perch, shrouded by darkness. The area around him was void of all light, ecxcept that which came from the moon. He listened carfully to his surroundings, it would be his ears that would detect a wandering zed, not his eyes. Instead of checking his surroundings, his eyes were aimed down the scope of his rifle. Through the tunnel he saw an island of light, the beacon, the trap he had set. Light from the distant fire focused through his scope allowing him to see the lit up area as if he was only a few yards away. The only imperfection to the picture were marked cross hairs, which gave him total control over all who decided to enter his domain. While he never specialized in competition long range, he did know how to shoot at distance thanks to years of hunting.

Eventually a figure stumbled from the void and into the light. She looked hopeful, but a little confused at the same time. Although Holliday hadn't spent much time with her since their group formed, through the scope's enhanced image, he recognized her as Tori. He reached to his side and unclipped a small handheld device which possessed a think antenna, walkie talkie. It's Sister was stashed over by the fire, on and ready to transmit. He was glad that she had actually decided to show up, as the wallow talkies would use up the last of his AA batteries.

He pressed a button on the side and waited a second. "Tori," it's Holliday. The walkie talkie is by the fire, find it and set its volume to low." He gave her a second to make sure he did so. Though risky, the volume had been on hight to make sure she had noticed it. "Alright," he said next, "I'm perched about 75 to 100 yards up the hill with a rifle. Quietly make your way up to me, but hurry. The fire and flare could attract unwanted attention. Once you get to me we'll go to where I've hidden my truck and then go to regroup with the others. Do you copy?"

Something about the demeanor of Austin seemed strange. He was slightly agitated, which was nothing new. But at the same time, she could sense like there was something bothering him a bit. Maybe it was about leaving, as he said many times. Maybe it was about something else. But whatever it is, she felt she should let it be for now.

"Oh, yeah. This thing," she said, looking down at her wound. "It's getting better. Still hurts, but the pain is manageable. I've felt worse."

With a pause, Jennifer also reflected on what he said about Holiday.

"Holiday does run off a lot. I can sympathize with you on that. But, a part of me also can see him as a leader. I don't agree with everything he does, running off so often, for example. But, if he were to stop doing that, maybe he could be a good leader of us, granted we stay together as a formal group. Say we all find a place to settle down at and defend, I can see him taking the leader responsibility. Granted, again, he stops running off. But then again, I can also see you as one, should you stay with us," Jennifer stopped. She noticed she was rambling, and probably wasn't making much sense.

"Sorry," she added, "I was rambling on. Maybe I'm thinking too far ahead now. We need to survive the hospital attack if we are to even consider anything. That is, if it comes to that. Sorry, again, rambling on and on. I do that sometimes," she finished, letting out a small chuckle.

It was at this moment, Jennifer remembered how she had ripped into him recently. She hadn't had much of time to apologize for it. While she had technically apologized after she said it, she felt that she owed him another.

"Hey, I just wanted to apologize, again," she started, pushing the hair out of her eyes, "about ripping into you before. That wasn't cool of me to do. I know I already apologized, but I felt like I had to again. I went too personal, and I really do apologize for doing that."

Suddenly, towards the hill where Holiday went off to, the flare shot up, illuminating the darkness around them. The flare was extremely bright, just as she remembered when she used it at night to escape walker hordes.

"Looks like he made it that far. Let's hope he can get Tori and get back to us alive," she said, staring at the hill, to Austin.

Jennifer could feel her heart start to beat faster inside. It was tense watching the hill and not seeing what was going on.
