Realistic or Modern Zombie Apocalypse

She listened intently and nodded. "Copy." Her mind flicked into a different world she was focused and breathed she mimicked the pose. Her shoulders squared, her knees tightened and bent her quads flexed showing strength even through the leggings. Her arms pulled up with the gun down range and she held the grip firm. Her stance was perfect just like he did. She mimicked it the way he said to her. She was breathing deeply and ready to take aim.

After holding a few seconds she chanted returning to a standard position of standing. "How was that?" She said. She did want to learn and as long as she remember what longshot said she would be ok.

The wind blew her hair and she adjusted her nose piercing. Her skin being cooled off by the slight breeze. Her mindset was never the same as most girls. She probably survived this long because of it. Especially alone. Most the time of course tammy was locked and boarded in her apartment building. Besides that she was able to survive and stay savvy ans strong.

@Mercer

Holliday nodded in appreciation, "For you first time, not bad. A few minor tweaks and you'll be set. Your knees, for instance, should be bent a tad more. Also don't flex so much. You want be be firm, but not rigid. You need to be able to move comfortably from this stance. Well work on your grip next. That was wrong. There are two ways you should hold a gun like this but one of them is too advanced for you. So we'll focus on a two handed grip. First of hold the gun like you think you would with your strong hand. Well call this hand 1. Then bring your second hand and use it to cover the front part of the grip. The pointer finger of this hand should rest on the trigger guard. Both of your thumbs should be on the same side like so, and should be pointed forward along the frame, not the slide. With hand 1 you add forward pressure while with hand two you asd backward pressure. This then stabilizes the gun. Finally you use the pad of your trigger finger in order to pull the trigger. Here, give it a shot."

Longshot made his commands and tammy listened to them intently. She began to realize that it wasn't to hard but she hasn't done shit yet. So she kept her ears open. "Ok." She said adjusting her grip. Her hands changed and adjusted to the way he asked for he nails were dirty ans her hands had callus but she still wasn't ashamed which generally she wouldn't be but it's not like there's a salon nearby.

She then created a mixture between the stance and the grip. She leaned forward a tad and held her grip firm but not rigid. And spread her legs and squared up her shoulders. She felt stupid and she probably was gonna get pointed out for something else she did wrong but oh well. A bead of sweat teamed from her forehead as she was slightly nervous and a bit scared what he would say about it.

@Mercer

"Don't worry, there's enough in here if we be careful with how much we hand out. There should be enough for everyone. I won't let one person take too much meat."

She took the pills from Miyuki.

"Thank you. We'll just get more," she said, trying to stay positive. She counted up the pills.

Six more days worth of pills were added. At this point, she had a little under two weeks left to live, granted se doesn't die some other way.

Jennifer turned her head and saw Austin come back. She thought about walking up to him and apologizing for being so blatant and rude. But a part of her knew not to. She knows she was right. And she knew he was trying to come to terms with it. Oddly enough, Jennifer has him figured out more than anyone else. In a way, she felt like it was similar to the relationship between Dr. Cameron and Dr. House in a show she used to watch called House, M.D. Maybe not quite the same, but she was beginning to feel that she has a relationship with him like they did in House. She constantly would call out the moral things to do, and she would call out House and read him exact, even if he didn't like it. And that's what she felt like happened. She saw similarities, specifically now.

"you guys bought me more time to live. I'm forever grateful. And because of that, feast on the deer I shot for all of you. This is my way of saying thanks," she said, turning beak to Miyuki.

@KathleneWilliams2121 @Crono

Miyuki looks out the window and sees that Jennifer was looking over at Austin for a while. "What are you looking......oh no not you too." She says as she laughs a little. "Anyway, thanks for the meat. If you want, I can help serve everyone." Miyuki said as she stands up. She hates to be useless and sit around doing nothing.

@Jennifer Shotain

Not you too? What does that mean?

"I had a small chat with Austin before. I basically read him like a book. I told him the truth about himself, at least what I've noticed in the short time I have known him. And I don't think he wants to accept that truth about himself. I'm letting him be for now. But yes, the food! Handing it out would be a huge help. My wound's hurting right now, and it would be a relief to not walk around and feel the pain. If you don't mind, could you hand it out?"

Jennifer took the pot and handed it to her, as she clutched her side. She winced slightly.

"Yeah, yup... time to sit down," she said in pain.

She found her spot she slept at, and sat down there. She looked in her backpack, and found her medication. She added the new ones to it. She dreaded looking at it. It made her think that whatever was in this bottle was the amount of days she had left to live. Her life left was always dependent on how many pills were in her bottle. But everyone else? They never had to worry about pills. They never had to look at a bottle and see the amount of days they have left. Their lives depended on how long they could live, not how many pills were in a bottle. This made her blood boil. She could feel anger brewing in her.

Damn it, Jennifer. Stop. This isn't their fault or yours. Your consequences were an unfortunate side effect of life, she thought to herself.

She calmed herself down. It wasn't her fault or theirs that this happened. She couldn't blame them for her own hardships in life. She hated how she felt about them earlier. She doesn't want to become that. She doesn't want to let that jealousy get larger, turn into hate, and become a no good scum of the Earth.

Keep you humanity. Don't let this get in the way of it.

With a sigh, Jennifer put her backpack down, and closed her eyes briefly, and thought to herself.

@KathleneWilliams2121

Miyuki stands up and takes the pot, only to put it down as she tried to help Jennifer sit down. She watches her pull out the bottle and count the pills. "Your really strong, Jennifer. I mean most people would most likely give up hope and die but you keep pressing on. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, not even yourself." She says as she walks off with the pot, seeing who needed to be served food. She starts with Tiffany who was sitting down. "Hey Tiff, how are you doing?" She asks as she handed her some food from the pot.

@Shimakage Thunder

Tiffany looked up when she heard Miyuki's voice. "I'm doing alright. I'm just glad you made it back safe." The young Mother-To-Be stood up as she caressed Miyuki's cheek before grabbing the food that the young girl had made for her. "I was really worried for you when you were gone." She said with a genuine tone as she decided to take a bite, at least for her baby.

@KathleneWilliams2121

Miyuki smiles a little, "I told you I would be fine." She says as she looks down at Tiff, "At least you and the baby are alright." Miyuki looks around the mill and a question pops into her head, "Tiff....where's Skylynn and Josh? I mean aren't they suppose to be here?" She asks as she looks around for them. A mother who just gave birth about a day ago and a new born couldn't have gotten far....right?

@Shimakage Thunder

When Miyuki pointed out that Skylynn and Josh were gone, Tiffany went wide-eyed because she didn't notice that they were gone. "Yeah, they were here. But I was taking a nap. Where did they go? There's no way she could have gotten up and leave without me noticing..." She said, her voice full of concern as she placed a hand on her belly.

@KathleneWilliams2121

Miyuki notices that Tiffany started to grow concern. She places a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Relax. Look, while I continue serving, I will look for the two of them. I'm sure she is just out showing Josh the trees and grass. You just relax and don't worry about a thing." She says with a smile, not wanting the young mother to get too distressed. "I will be back if I find something." She says as she picks up the pot and walks over to Austin who was outside, "Did Jennifer serve you?" She asks as she looks over at Austin.

@Shimakage Thunder @Crono

Austin's eyes and ears had been wide open, yet it'd taken the man a brief moment to comprehend the young girl's presence and words. Austin looked down at Miyuki from his position above, simply nodding, he'd had his share of the meat. And while he admitted to wanting more he decided to wait until everyone had their chance to dig in, he could check for leftovers later.

"If your looking for Tammy or Holliday, I saw the two of them walking further downstream." Austin shrugged his shoulders, not knowing their reason's, and honestly not caring too much.

@KathleneWilliams2121

"Ahh well thank you but umm....I have a question...do you know where Skylynn and Josh are? They aren't in the mill and I'm looking for them so Skylynn can eat." She says as she looks up at Austin, "Did you see them?" She asks hoping he saw them.

@Crono

Having the feeling that she had been gone longer than she had intended and frankly being cold Tori had started to make her way back toward the mill. She had walked further than she had ever intended but she had been enjoying herself It was oddly peaceful. In the midst of all the quiet, surrounded by the trees and a gentle breeze Tori had almost been able to forget where she was and that..that had been super nice. Almost able to forget about all the ugly things that were happening were such a relief, The woman hadn't realized how badly she had needed a moment to herself until she had started walking. The walk had been so relaxing and gave her some time to think about ...well everything she had been holding such a high guard up around her own mind the chance to let it all come crashing it was welcomed. She didn't allow it to last long though, she was still a firm believer that dwelling on what they had had and what they didn't have now would serve them no purpose..but she also realized that she had been using that as an excuse to stop herself bonding with anyone properly in the group. It wasn't like she was the opening up sort anyways.

However all these thoughts had been allowed to run through her head and settle and she even allowed herself to stop and sit under a tree for a while tori's hands aimlessly playing with leaves as she thought of home, of her mother, her sisters..her friends, everything. Everything she missed and everything she might not see again all of the places she had been before and thought she hated but now wished she could be at any one of hem more than ever. She had shared a bitter laugh with herself at that, they did say hindsight was a wonderful thing didn't they? But it was when she was thinking on all of this she came to a decision, She would not allow her hindsight to be full of regret again. In this place, the place the world had become now none of them were sure they would be here tomorrow, next week, next month hell next year seemed like an impossibility so well if it was to be a fight for a life then she would make it count.

Tori had gotten up with renewed purpose and as she walked back to the mill it was with determination. She would learn to shoot, she would ask one of them to help teach her hunt she would make herself a helpful part of this group; She would make it so she could watch her own back and the back of the people she found herself with now. The blonde gripped the strap of her bag tightly and nodded firmly to herself, learning to kick ass sounded like a good plan she had always been a perfectionist in everything she did so surviving would be no different. As she started to get closer to the mill she noticed ore vehicles outside it than had been there when she wandered off and her step quickened. Toro was surprised at how strong the surge of happiness and excitement that surged through her..the others were back. A smile broke out on her face and she reached the door quicker than she would have at her pace a moment ago but she paused seeing miyuki just in front of it "So everyone is back?" she asked only realizing now that they may not all have made it back. That took the smile from her face and she frowned thinking about how that would go down but when she glanced around and up toward the cloud to see how the weather was holding as she waited on an answer she smirked. "Well grumpy i see you are still with us?" she called.

"Not inside?" The man asked curiously, "It's a baby and a woman still recovering from birth. They couldn't exactly have gone far." Then when Tori showed up and spoke Austin merely shook his head, a gruff annoyed grunt in response before looking back up and away from the two of them.

@KathleneWilliams2121 @Lola Shimmer

Miyuki watches Tori come up to them and Austin turning his head away. Miyuki turns over to Tori to see if she knew where the two were. "Tori, have you seen Skylynn and Josh? I'm asking around because they should be inside. Also Jennifer cooked some food for us to eat." She said as she shows her the pot. "Did you get any?"

@Lola Shimmer

"Ah well then..." Tori said simply when her answer from Austin wasn't even in the form of words. Someone was living up to their nickname right now that was for sure, But she would find out what the heck all that was about in a second. Tori rubbed the back of her neck hoping the cause of his bad mood wasn't that anyone got hurt...or worse. The woman blinked though and gave her attention back to Miyuki realizing she had asked her a question "Hmm? oh the doctor and the baby..ah no the last time i seen them was..." She frowned as she tried to think "Actually it was when we all went to sleep last night i haven't seen them since, But i've kinda be bust all day" Tori shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "Maybe she went for a walk? give the kid air or something?" She suggested, babies needed air right?. At the mention of the food Tori smiled "Yeah i know she did. she gave me some earlier so i am all good, you guys need to get your fill..specially being gone all day. Probably need it" She rocked back and forth on her heels starting to feel the harsh whip of the cold air now that she had stopped walking "So where is everyone" she turned her attention back up to Austin on the roof "You guys get everything you went after?"

(*Cherry on top*

Miyuki decides to leave Tori and Austin to talk it out as she carries the pot to where Austin said that was where Holliday and Tammy were. She walks over to see the two of them, what looked like, practicing shooting. "Hey, Jenny made some meat. Want some?" She asks as she looks over at the two of them. Out of the corner of her eye she sees Skylynn walking out from behind some trees, carrying Josh within her arms. "Skylynn, I've been looking for you," Miyuki said as she smiles over at the young mother.

@Mercer @tammynorthland

At Tori's follow-up question there was a familiar grunt and grumble in reply, followed by a huff. "We didn't even make it to the crash, but we didn't come back empty handed either. The man's eyes wandered to the direction Tori had come from after Miyuki left, "What were you off doing anyhow?" Austin wasn't really interested in what she'd been doing, but firstly he was changing the subject, and secondly that by conversing he could potentially get Tori to leave quicker.

@Lola Shimmer

Tammy put the stance on hold and turned around and smiled. "Yes please!" She chanted as she walked over she held the gun in the right hand and picked off the meat with her left. She started chomping down on the meat like and animal. No manners, no holding back,no chewing even

She was acting no better than the corpsers. "I-LOVE-meat!!!" She grunted chewing. Her ferocious appetite came out. Even trying to control herself with the meat she couldn't handle it. She stopped and notice skylyn. Still chewing of course she asked.

"What the fuck is going on with her." Tammy said a bit rude. She swallowed then grabbed another piece of meat not even considering longshot.

@Mercer @KathleneWilliams2121

Tori just laughed when she got another grunt in response and the woman rolled her eyes at Austin's demeanor. He was clearly in a bad mood and the more he displayed just how foul a mood he was in the more amused and yet determined to find out what cause it she got. "Well what's bit you on the bum?" she called up but she cast a side way glance toward miyuki as the girl walked off but she soon turned her attention back to king Huffington on the roof. "You didn't?" she asked surprised when he mentioned they hadn't even made it to the crash "Why..What happened? Everyone is ok right?" Tori mused. This is ridiculous she thought to herself, she was not gonna stand here talking into the sky like some cloud talking loon. She titled her head to the side studying the wall of the mill and smirked before walking forwards and getting a good hold she started to climb up.

Tori reached the top and pulled herself onto roof with a belly wiggle. She never had been much of a climber soo this was certainly a first, Aren't I just all bear grylls walking in the woods and climbing buildings today she thought to herself with an amused giggle before she looked over at Austin hearing his question "I was taking a break and exploring" she shrugged her shoulders at that "And you are lurking on the roof like some kind of emo spider man becaaaauuuusse?" she raised a blonde eyebrow questionably at him.

@Crono

You're not that. Why on Earth would you think that this was their fault? They did the best they could by getting the supplies they could get in the situation they were in. What happened to you isn't your fault. Hate is the way to dark side of humanity, a side that is all too apparent with these raider fucks out there. As soon as you lose your humanity and embrace hate, you will become one of them. Stop it. Get up, and go do something.

The young girl gave herself a pep talk. She needed to clear those thoughts from her head. This isn't who she is, nor who she wants to be. But the sad and ugly truth is that everyone has their different sides to them. Whether they show the darker side is something they can normally control. And Jennifer could control it. She wasn't going to let hate and jealousy fill her head.

With a sigh, she picked herself up, pain still lingering, grabbed her rifle, and walked out of the mill. Everyone was around doing various things. She decided to go out to that one spot she found the deer. Maybe she would get lucky and get another, or some sort of animal for food. Not only was she doing that, she mainly wanted to be alone, clear her mind, and be herself in the environment she feels at home in; nature.

Stepping into the woods, she found a place to sit down. She leaned against a tree, and thought about her situation. For once, it wasn't about her health condition, but the people she was with. Did she really want to be with people? Did she want to make them care about her, and then run out of medication, and then die. Would she want to hurt them? She could tell they were good people. And she herself was starting to care about them. But at the same time, she wasn't sure if she herself wanted to drag them down to her misery. She started to shiver, not because of environmental factors, but the thought running through her head.

I think I might have to leave them to save them for suffering over me, mourning over me. I don't want them to care about me in any way, and then have to deal with the consequences of no medication. I think I have to go. ...but at the same time, I'm not sure. I'm not sure if I can do it. Fuck... I hate this.

"Everyone's fiiine." Austin scoffed, this woman had gone straight to the worst case scenario. "We even brought back whats-his-face..." Austin gestured with a hand towards the river where Holliday's truck was setup having forgotten his name for the moment.

Next thing Austin knew Tori was climbing up, the hard way mind you, like some sort of cat. A smirk appeared on his face from the amusing sight of her flailing side to side once she'd reached the top. Though it disappeared quickly once she'd started pulling out the names, "I'm keeping watch." He snorted, "Something I'd expected to see you or maybe Aedan doing when we came back, but low and behold the roof was empty. Anyone living or dead could have marched up while we were gone."

It was for reason's like this that Austin wondered why he was still here, sure they were off to the side but that didn't mean they were safe in the long run. Austin wasn't interested in getting caught with his pants down, so to speak.

@Lola Shimmer

"Eh?" Tori asked when he said something about whats his face and she looked over her shoulder toward the general direction that Austin gestured in and her eyes widened in surprise "" Oh heeeey so he isn't dead, Well that's always good" She smiled at that. Well if that wasn't a sign that things had turned around somewhat then she didn't know what was. Tori fixed herself into a sitting position and crossed her legs under herself in a 'Buddha' style. She rested her elbow on her knee and rested her chin in it with a soft sigh and rolled her eyes "You are not keeping watch you are brooding so don't try to tell me of, We didn't die did we? Just cause we weren't up here doesn't mean we weren't taking precautions" The woman rolled her eyes at that. "But hey deflect your bad mood and what is wrong with you onto me all you want." A smirk touched the blondes lips and she shrugged her shoulders. "Anywhoo all your grumpiness and my amazing sense of sarcasm aside i am glad you guys all made it back in one piece. Even you grumpy butt..and hey even for coming back" she winked and let out a short laugh "I kow we are hardly your first choice but hey we aint so bad...and like i dunno if you ever wanna yell about that elephant in the room you are carrying around" Tori shrugged "I'll be about.." She cleared her throat and looked around the roof awkwardly..gosh she was so bad at being nice she decided that she wasn't particularly fond of it. She felt like she ought to punch him in the face or something just to reestablish balance but she resisted the urge cause that was as close as Tori was ever gonna get to saying im here for you buddy. She screwed her face up at that thought and even shuddered a little. Eugh so cheesy. "So you guys kill anything?" she asked changing the subject.

@Crono

The thoughts flooded into Jennifer's head. They made her go go inside. Why must she think this way? But unfortunately, she was right in some of her thinking. She doesn't want to drive people close to her, and only have them watch her die when the medication bottle becomes empty. Does she really want to put these people through this? This is where her conflict lies in her head. Does she want to do that to them? Does she really want to?

Wind around the trees in the surrounding forest created creepy, eerie noises. This put Jennifer on edge. Though she was conflicted internally, she wasn't ready to die. The eerie noises that the wind created could cover up an undead creeping through the woods. It could possibly conceal many sounds that could be from something creeping up on her. Feeling that her safety was in question, she grabbed her rifle, got up, and walked back towards the mill. At least there, she was safer than out in the forest by herself.

Once back at the mill, she say Tori and Austin talking. Tori seemed her normal self that Jennifer has come to observe in the past day, and Austin was still grumpy, judging by his facial expression. Though, it's likely he's more grumpy because of what Jennifer said to him earlier. Making no attempt to make herself known to them, she simply walked past them and into the mill, and back to her respective spot she had slept at. She put her rifle down, took the magazine out, cleared the chamber, and started to disassemble the weapon to preform basic maintenance.
