Realistic or Modern Zombie Apocalypse

The plan to pick off the horde was a myth now. Shots were fired and a man rounded about the corner like her owned the place. Tammy was very stubborn, even she was intuitive. This man had been armed to the brim wearing a pair of black shades and a cowboy styled hat. She smiled a bit. "He's bitten." She mumbled. But miyuki already started talking to him. 'Friends? Foes? Who is this guy and what happened to him?' He began to tell the story of his massacre of the corpsers which happened a few days before this moment. He told them about the bit on his arm and what he did to it. 'This guy is very strong.' He seemed a show off but tammy was probably as hardheaded as he was. Smiling she glanced at him. Her body glistened with sweat from nervousness from hiding from the dead. Her leggings and tank top were clean and unscathed apart from minor dust and a blood stain that was mostly washed out. She didn't hold out her hand. Rather pulled her pistol out. And had barrel in hand grip toward Longshot. " this will be better with you then!" Tammy smirked notoriously. The same face she made back in high school when she was about to get something she wanted. But it was out of selflessness. She trusts this guy unlike most people. And these survivors have affiliation with him.

Miyuki thinks for a second, 'He could get us there, but half of the supplies.....well as long as we get what we need we should be good, plus he knows about the baby...' "Fine, it's a deal." Miyuki says suddenly holding her hand out for Holliday to shake it. She saw Tammy hand a gun over to Holliday which was what he needed. "But you should still go over to the mill with us once this is over. Skylynn is a doctor, she can look at your wound." She says wanting him to at least have it checked before he goes off and kills himself.

@Mercer @Lekar

Holliday was a bit surprised when the woman with Miyuki handed him the pistol. He looked it over for a second and recognized it as a Smith and Wesson military and police model chambered in 9mm Nato. A smile crept across his face as he took it from her. "Appreciated," he said as he looked down it's sights. He unloaded the magazine and then racked the slide back getting a feel for the action. There were 11 rounds in the mag and one in the chamber. While he liked the firearm already, he knew he it wouldn't be right to take.

Nodding in approval he held it back out for the girl to reclaim. "Thats a fine weapon you have there, but you need it more than me. I have my wheel-guns to get me by, and I can shoot them better one handed as well. Keep the gun for yourself." It was then that he took a good look at her. She looked to be a few years older than he, 19 or 20 maybe. She had long blonde hair and was fairly beautiful. What drew his attention however was her smirk, it told him that she wasn't the kind to be pushed around easy and was determined to get what she wanted. Holliday didn't need any more than her actions in the last minute to know that he already liked her and figured he could trust her.

Holliday turned towards Miyuki, "Yeah, If Skylynn is felling better than I suppose having her take a look at my arm couldn't hurt. But I may not stick around for more than a few days afterwards, so ill avoid using any of your resources. Anyway, were burning daylight. Lets continue the rest of the conversation once were safe in the truck, I don't like sitting still for to long." Holliday pointed to a lone zed stumbling toward them a quarter mile down the street to make his point. Ignoring it as it was still far away he, turned and motioned for the others to follow him. After a few feet he stopped and looked back at the newcomers to the group. "The name is Holliday by the way."

The lone corpser stood in the street as they pursued toward the walking body. The man introduced himself as holliday "pleasure to meet you Longshot." Tammy said calmly her body was loose and it felt good just like when she used to work out. This was definitely a workout for her. She cut the others off and before the corpser knew what hit her she wielded out the bar. Her crowbar was a medium weight not to much for her to handle. Longshot couldn't have all the fun. Her arm briskly moved the bar in a swinging motion and tammy adjusted the weight. The corpser groaned hearing them all approach she walked furthest ahead. A habit she enjoyed far to much. As it creeper toward tammy she tightened her grip with her right hand and slung the crowbar in an upward motion making contact with its jaw and watched the hooked end drill into the bodies skull from the bottom. 'Crrack' the body barely could stand from the impact alone what ended the new life of the dead corpser was the fact that tammy dismembered the head with such a smooth stroke and the spine was the only thin holding the head on the body. With a thud the body fell and tammy turned back. "Wait which way is your car?" Tammy said cluelessly.

@Mercer @Lekar

Holliday watched the girl go to work, and admired the smoothness of her actions. "You look like you enjoyed that," Holliday said teasingly, "Overall it was very nicely and efficiently done." He then pointed a block ahead, "Around that corner past the speed limit sight, its parked by some dumpsters. And its truck, almost a tank really, not a car." He led them to his dodge and pulled his keys out of his coat pocket to unlock it. "Who wants shotgun?"

@Mercer @Lekar @tammynorthland

Miyuki just follows quietly, keeping to herself. She looks up and sees the Dodge truck that Holliday had, "So this is the truck that you were talking about? What happened to your machine that remakes bullets?" She asks as she looks into the truck bed and sees nothing. "As for shotgun, if Tammy wants it, I can just ride in the bed." She says as there wasn't enough room. She figures it's better to have a range attacker in the bed to keep the zombies back and the others in the cab where it was safe.

@Mercer @Lekar

Tammy smiled seeing something so bulletproof he asked who wanted shotgun. But she was already hopping in the driver seat. "I've never been in a truck like this!" She said warmed up. She generally never warmed up to new people but the way this guy perceived himself especially to the group she definitely felt kindhearted about it. The one eyed man seemed the same way but he was more.....dark? This guy, Longshot, she called him was more....she lost her train of thought she couldn't think of the word for it. She opened the glove box to find a unknown box of ammo. It said " 60 9 millimeter rounds". She flipped over the box "use with caution for adult use only." She read the label word for word. If only she knew about guns. If it was about a sprained ankle or a broken limb or recovering from tendon damage tammy usually new the answer.

This kind of stuff was all new and unknown to her. Miyuki didn't seem to care to much about that stuff either however she brought up making bullets.... that could be useful. If she knew how to fire a gun. Tammy glanced back at one eye and Austin they seemed relieved for the unknown help even though they wouldn't admit it.

@Mercer @Lekar @KathleneWilliams2121

"Oh, my Hornady Lock-N-Load, its packed away in the camper. Speaking of which there is no way you'll be able to fit back there. Thats where I keep most of my stuff. You'll just have to squeeze into the back seat." Holliday opened up the drivers side door and sat down. Then he put the key in the ignition and the large white truck came to life. He smiled to and turned his head to find the girl with Miyuki staring at a box of his ammo. "9 millimeter NATO, exactly what your gun is chambered in. Take it, I don't have anything which uses that caliber, its a little small for my tastes. Alright, Everybody buckled in? Remember ZombieLand rule #4, Fasten Your Seatbelts."

Tammy glanced at him. He had still had his shades on his eyes were therefore undefinable. His jaw line was defined much like those chiseled models she saw all the time in magazines she read when she got a pedicure back in the day. His body was skinny and farely ok from what she could tell. And his hair was greasy and unhealthy and tucked away under the hat. His arms were to thick around the forearm she probably had more strength. She laughed in her head. 'No he must be strong enough if he took on 100 plus corpsers.' She thought tammy Thanked him for the ammo and put it inside her backpack. 'I definitely accomplished something so far. Maybe there's more I can get and I can learn to shoot.' Tammy thought again. He asked they buckled up so tammy did. "What does nato mean?" Tammy said.

"NATO?" asked a bit surprised, then he realized that the concept wasn't commonly held with the idea of weaponry by the general public. "Im sure you have heard of it. It stands for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization also known as the North Atlantic Alliance. Its was basically a political and military alliance between all of the prominent countries in bot Europe and North America. What most people don't know however was that when this alliance was formed, it was decided to make all of the ammunition these countries used standardized so one country's troops could use supplies of another's if need be. This idea was the result of WWII, because we had a hard time supplying ammunition since the Europeans used metric rounds whilst we did not. So the two cartridges of 9mm for pistols and 5.56mm for rifles were chosen. Now with that said there are two types of 9mm, there is the Luger which is the round that is commercially made the most, and then there is the NATO which is MUCH more powerful than the garden variety as it is military grade. As such it should only be used in new & robust firearms such as yours. Even so, I think that 9mm rounds are inferior to the larger rounds based on the imperial measurement system." Though it sounded like a lot of information, it was actually a very brief description of the round. There were so many other factor which he could delve into, but he didn't have the time and he figured she wouldn't care. Once the others were buckled in he shifted the transmission into drive and took off. "So which way?"

One eyed pointed the direction that we were supposed to travel. It was north was all tammy new she didn't have the best sense of direction but she knew it was post the entrance sign to the town since she was traveling from that way yesterday. "That alot of info where did you learn all this stuff?" Tammy asked intrigued. She smiled a bit but not enough for everyone to catch on really. This guy really knew his stuff we started to move north and finally hit the exit of the city.

As we progressed the drive was quiet and we made great time. We past a herd of corpsers. " should we worry about them following us.?" She said as the herd moved our direction.

When she had first asked about Holliday's experience he was a bit hesitant to reply as he'd be discussing his past with a stranger, but then thought 'Why the hell not?' He then took one hand of the steering wheel and rolled down the wind for fresh air. "I was a championship shooter before this whole shit storm went down. To say I was one of the best would be putting it a tad lightly since I held many titles. The point is that I know guns like the back of my hand, perhaps even better. My best friend was always the second amendment. It's a pity he wasn't more popular beforehand, many more people would be better off at the moment if he had been."

Holliday kept on driving down the road in the direction which the girl had pointed him in. The autumn air coming from his window was cool and refreshing. He took a deep breath, and reminisced at the festivities which used to go on this time of year. Then Holliday saw the horde off the side of the road. There were at least 50 zeds total, maybe more. A few took notice of his truck barreling down the highways and took to the road, blocking his path. Holliday let out a wicked smirk and gassed the vehicle, increasing the speed. "Hope ya'll buckled up when I told you to." A split second later the truck bounced violently as it plowed over the Zeds, leaving behind a pile of dismembered road kill. After which Holliday just kept on driving.

" should we worry about them following us.?" the girl said.

Holliday considered the questions for a moment and then gave his answer. "I never worry or stress about anything. My philosophy on life is that there should be no surprises. Since the apocalypse I've always accepted that the worse case scenario will occur. Im already planning what to do if they come after us, that way if and when Ill be ready. So relax, when it happens we'll be able to act, for now just enjoy the ride." To emphasize his point, he pulled his phone out of his coat pocket and hooked it up to an audio jack as well as his car charger. The sound of modern rock then came blasting out of the trucks speakers.

@Mercer @Lekar @KathleneWilliams2121 @tammynorthland

Tammy smiled she hasn't heard music in months. She loved this song playing she believed it was three days grace? Maybe she was wrong. Music always went hand in hand with working out and she missed it. "Life is to short to stress about it." Tammy said. They progressed down the road and worked their way toward the crash tammy then asked how much further to one eye. It was gonna be an hour by car. Perfect timing especially on this slow going windy road. " you like music I presume?" She asked

"Rock and Country, both old and new. I don't listen to it because it reminds of the old days or anything, Ive just always had my ear buds in. Besides have you ever gunned down several zeds while the Shepard of Fire, the song from Call of Duty Zombies Origins, played in your ears? It's a pretty kick ass feeling. Anyways, I recommend you collect old iPhones if you ever com across them. They can still be charged from any car and usually have their music libraries intact. Sure you cant get internet connection, but they provide much needed entertainment. I even found one with a movie, though I dropped it and broke the screen months ago."

Holliday kept on driving until he came upon two cars which crashed in the road, blocking his path. Because his truck was a huge dually, he couldn't take it off the road due to the trees. He'd have to clear the wrecked vehicles from the road before they could continue. He slowly came to a stop and parked the truck in the road. Then he opened the door and went to do the task. He faltered as he walked, remembering that with his injured arm he couldn't do it alone. He turned his head and yelled back towards the truck, "Alright! I'm going to need a volunteer to help me move this thing. The rest of you wait in the car where it's safe."

As Holliday got closer to the wreck he saw movement. It came in the form of two corpses which came limping toward him with broken bones. Holliday just sighed and unstrapped his Kukri machete from his hip. He then casually drove the weighted blade deep into the skull of the first Zed and it slumped to the ground. Because the machete was lodged in so far, he just let it fall with the zombie and reached back behind him to draw his massive Remington Cap and Ball Revolver. He leveled it at the second Qed and cocked the hammer back, but decided against taking a shot. There was no telling what the trees were hiding, and he'd rather not find out. Instead he de-cocked the gun and brained the zombie with the 8 inch octagonal barrel. The Zed stumbled back, so he pistol whipped it again, then again, then again. Soon the zombie was down, and they were free to do their work.

Longshot words rang in tammys head 'iphone?.' Tammy thought. 'Shepard of fire? ' Tammy thought again about the game he brought up call of duty? Tammy never played video games. Heck she usually would rather go out for a run or hell go to a yoga class. Tammy took pride in her body and fitness to stay healthy it was apart of her. She adjusted her septum :which was crooked. She hopped out of the giant dually truck her tennis shoes tapped the ground. Leaving her crowbar at the car. "We will help" Tammy said gesturing to longshot. He laid waste to the corpsers and from the sounds of it and looks nothing was nearby. They were deep in the forest and One Eye climbed out and Austin as well. Tammys body was itching to do something but this wasn't what she had in mind. At least it was better than sitting doing nothing. She walked over to holliday swaying her hips fluidly. "We got this." She smirked with the same face she always makes. The one with that hint of tenacity and devilish hues to it.

Miyuki jumps out of the cab and looks over the wreckage, 'Great, more stopping.' She thinks to herself as she watches Tammy sway her hips to Holliday. Miyuki rolls her eyes at the sight and just walks over to one of the cars in the way. "We might as well inspect these, see if anything good is in them. Besides, if they have gas that can always be useful." She says as she looks inside of the car and finds a pocket knife and some matches. Stuffing them into her pocket, she looks over at Holliday, "You have something to hold fuel in?" She asks.

@Mercer @tammynorthland @Crono @Lekar

Holliday retrieved his weapons and was already looking over the two bodies before Miyuki even had the chance to speak. "Not a bad idea," he said rummaging through the pockets of the once human being. The only thing he found of use however was a small buck knife. "But first let's clear the path. I want to be out of here in a hurry if things go wrong, and if they come from behind then I can only go forward."

Holliday walked over and inspected the cars, both having their keys in the ignition. One had its doors open, indicating its occupants fled in a hurry, the other held the remains of the driver and a female zed beside him with her brains blown out. It didn't take Holliday long to piece together what had happened. When the drivers loved one wasn't felling to well he rolled down the windows so she could get fresh air. Little did he know she was really infected and turning. By the time he figures it out it was too late and he was trapped. As he struggled to reach go his gun and shoot her, the car swerved and took out the one beside him. Though he killed his lady friend, he was rendered unconscious making it easy for zeds to tear into him through the window. What's more, the other family were now fucked and had to abandon their ride to make an escape. Holliday sighed, This is why I hate people, he thought, they're alwayd either turning on you or screwing everything up for you.

Holliday gave both the corpses in the car a good jab to the brain just to make sure they would stay down then he shifted the car into neutral. Holliday ten realized if the wife had been shot there should be a gun somewhere in the cab. Excited, Holliday looked around until he felt the grip of the pistol. It was a 1911 model like the one he had, but chambered in 38 super, meaning he couldn't use it. Still it had the right parts to fix his current old one. But that would be a job for a later day. "Alright I've got a pistol here for whoever wants it but it's on a loan. I need it for parts later on. Let me know if you want it. Alright someone get over here and help me push. Oh, and Miyuki, my trucks a diesel so we can't just add it to my spare gas cannisters. I might have an extra water cannister which you can drain and use though."

@tammynorthland @KathleneWilliams2121 @Lekar @Crono

Tammy observed The wreckage of the crash watching nearby holliday closely. She couldn't tell what happened but based on Longshot searching the car she figured he was looking for something she began to search the opposite car with the door left open while he looked in the one with a corpsers inside. She glanced in the back seats of the sedan... a chest? She opened the back left door and pulled out the chest lying on the ground. She searched the rest of the car before reattendinf to it. She managed to find a flip lighter, a can of unopened peanuts, 2 water bottles still sealed, and when she opened the trunk she found a spare sleeping bag. ' oh score.'she thought.

He attention lingered back to the chest. It had no emblems on it nor and symbols. It was the size of a duffel bag probably. And weighed a good 20 pounds. She reached for the latch and clicked it open. She threw open the lid.

A wide grin came across her face."Longshot, miyuki, Austin!" Tammy called out. "Come see this!"

She just discovered a full medical lab kit.

@Mercer @KathleneWilliams2121 @Lekar

Miyuki looks over at Holliday, "That's good, that means if we run out of fuel we can still use gas. It will run like crap but it should get the job done." She says as she fills some containers with gas as she hears Tammy call them. Miyuki walks over to Tammy and looks in the bag, "Why would someone have hospital equipment in their car?" She asks as she inspects it all. "Hmm......" She looks though the bag and looks over at Tammy, "Lucky find, it has some of the meds that we need as well as some antibiotics that can prove to be useful." She sighs as she swings the bag over her shoulder and puts it in the car, "We should still go to the helicopter, we could still use what that has." She says as she goes to the car she was at before and shifts it to the N and then starts to push it out of the way.

Tori sighed as she laid flat out on one of the large wooden tables in her newly created supply room. She had decided to let her hair done for a bit so it splayed out in a blonde halo around her head and made for a slight cushion against the hard wood. The woman absentmindedly traced her finger along one of the intricate tattoos on her left arm as she stared at the ceiling. She was content for the first time in days thanks to the full tummy she had. She was very, very glad that Jen was able to shoot that deer because she also felt better than she had in a while too with a nights sleep under her belt to cap it all of. It felt like they had been waiting here a long time though and as relaxed as she felt Tori couldn't help the small knot of worry that was forming in the pit of her stomach. She was anxious about the others, about how they were doing and if they were ok..The second she had her hands on anything to make them some sort of communication radios that was exactly what she was going to do.

Tori pushed herself up after giving herself a little pep talk to actually move her lazy ass and she glanced over at Jen "Do you think they are ok?" It wasn't that the woman didn't have faith in their skills, hell she had seen the in action if anyone could handle the run it was the people that went but still you just didn't know what was out there. At least the undead were predictable and you knew what they wanted..it was if they ran into the living that concerned her. Walking over to the bag she had claimed as her own she pulled her shot gun out and walked back to jen holding it out to her, remembering she had asked her to teach her ore about it. "Here this is it, Stole it from some cop car when i got separated from my rescue group..there wasn't much ammo though."

@Jennifer Shotain

"Do I think they'll be okay?" Jennifer stopped and pondered the question for a couple of seconds. She did believe they could get it done. But it takes one screw up to mess everything up. One little slip and you get bit means you're done. Dead. Jennifer sighed before she replied.

"I hope so...," she said vaguely before a silent moment. "They are definitely skilled enough to handle themselves, One-Eyed, Austin, and most likely Miyuki, though I haven't seen her really fight. Same with One-Eyed, but I think we all get that he is a formidable fighter. But if someone messed up, slips, and gets bit," she paused and sighed, stopping herself from finishing the sentence. Tori got the point.

The room fell awkwardly silent. Jennifer didn't know what she would say. Finally, Tori showed Jennifer the shotgun that she stole from the dead cop. Jennifer took the weapon and looked it over.

"Looks like you have yourself a Remington 870. My father owned one. I never really shot it, but I am familiar with it. Let me just introduce you to some basics of gun safety before I go on. These are just some things that I live by whenever I handle a gun. Generally, there are four rules, and I'm not listing them in any particular order. One-finger off of the trigger unless you're firing. Always have it off the trigger, positioned above it on the frame or receiver. Unless you're firing, it is off. Two; know your target and what lies beyond it. Most types of ammunition will penetrate and pass through targets. Three; never point your gun at something unless you intend to destroy it. But given how the world is now, I think we can drop that one. You have to point guns at strangers. They could be dangerous. So maybe forget about that one. And lastly, always treat your guns as if they are loaded, even if they aren't. Accidents happen, and even if it isn't loaded, you have to treat it as if it is. It's a lot to take in at first. But do you understand it," Jennifer asked, placing Tori's shotgun against the wall.

@Lola Shimmer

Tori nodded when Jen said she thought the group was skilled enough to get what needed to be done, done and she knew what she meant by just one slip up and it was game over because she had been worrying about the same thing herself. She nodded her head at that and then made sure she was paying attention to whatever the girl was going to have to say about the gun, The name of it went straight over her head of course she might as well have been speaking another language but these were names and terms she should get used to and recognize she decided..she would learn whatever she could about guns any kind.that way goodness knows if they ever stumbled upon any she would know what would be useful to them or what wouldn't. Ammo too if she could learn the types well it just might come in handy. "Right no pointy the boom boom at the living" she smirked at that and laughed a little but she quickly became serious again as she listened to the rules.

"Yes i get it" Tori said solemnly. So basically treat it like you don't wanna blow your own foot off. ever. she thought to herself. The rules made sense of course she wasn't dumb they might not have freely carried guns were she came from but she knew they were dangerous she had seen plenty of fights with them between gangs and such in her town. "So, when can i start practicing to shoot with it and like look after it and stuff?" she asked, The woman doubted she be allowed to dive straight in the deep end of firing it but ya know a timeline would be nice. She couldn't waste her bullets though so that might prove a problem.

@Jennifer Shotain

Holliday looked over at Miyuki not believing what he just heard. "Are you insane! You never put gas into a diesel. N-E-V-E-R. At best your engine quits on you after a mile, at worst the engine blows. Don't make that mistake again, it could cost you your life!" Holliday shook his head and looked down in disappointment. After a few moments he went over to examine Tammy's finding. There was quite a decent amount of dressing, gauze, and other first aid supplies plus many meds. More than enough to treat his wound and several others which would inevitably occur in this world.

"Great find Tammy, this alone will take care of us for quite some time. Honestly, I’m not sure that we should even go to the chopper now. I rarely have any luck that isn’t bad, and I’m not too anxious to push it today. We have what we came looking for, the road is clear on the way back, and we can make it home without any worries. Lets say we do go to the chopper and it’s flooded with zombies. Then we’d be screwed out of the supplies and would be putting ourselves in unesscesary danger. Can I say that this is what is going to happen? No, but I cant say it wont either. We have completed the objective of finding supplies, anything else is icing on the cake. What do you guys think?”

Miyuki rolls her eyes at Holliday, "Whatever you say." She says, a little bitter about what he said to her. She walks over to the cars to see if there was anything else she missed. She looks over at the rocks by the road...'Too brittle, all they would do is break in mid air,' She pulls out the knife she found and examines it, "looks dull..." she says to herself as she gets to work on sharpening the blade.

@Mercer @Crono @Lekar @tammynorthland

Tammy smiled and went to the car to put the kit inside her seat. "My opinion we still have daylight if anything is left there it's better to know especially what one eye said he was right! One eye was keeping watch. "So far we only have a med kit. We are also gonna need food. Real food. Things that will fill us up." Tammy recalled the supplies she hid inside the room she made for herself. "We should keep moving but your the one with the truck." She walked back and stood face to face with holliday. Her glance shifted at miyuki. Her eyes flickered from the light cresting the illusion as if she had fire inside them.
