Fantasy Wolves on the Run

Elliot sits down under a rock the juts out from the cave wall and curls up, body starting to shake in pain. He tells himself to breathe calmly, and to think about something under the pain. He tried both of these suggestions, but ends up short of breath as he almost stops breathing all together.

Sitting on the ground at the mouth of the cave with her back against the rock wall, Alyla stared at the sky. So much was on her mind, Alyla didn't know where to start. But all this thinking created a headache.Oh, Andreasa, what is it that.... But before she could finish that sentence, Andreasa interrupted. Do not even finish that. You will remember when you are ready. Then she too went silent.

After a time Kris walks to the front of the cave and sits against one of the walls away from everyone just staring out into the night.

After a while, Bat stopped studying the amethyst and went to sleep. I never told Elliot what I think about that amethyst.

Seeing someone she didn't know on the other side of the entrance, Alyla didn't give him much thought and went back to her own thoughts.

Elliot drifts off in minutes, but his dreams don't start for hours. And when they do start, he wishes they would stop.

It was another test day, but this time it wasn't Elliot being tested on. They were having him watch what a medicine would do to a spider. The spider squirmed in the scientist's grip, and Elliot understood how it felt. It wanted to be free and live a normal life, but there was no chance for escape. It's struggles were in vain.

The scientist pokes the syringe into the spider and it freezes, everything going stiff. At this moment, Elliot knew what was going to happen. And it happened just as Elliot thought. The spider gave a high pitched squeak and spasmed violently before stilling and falling over. They had killed the spider. This terrified Elliot.

It wasn't watching death that scared him. He realized then that he was just a spider in a petri dish. Whenever the scientists decided to kill him, they could. Not only that, but they could make the death very painful.

That wasn't the worst of the dream. The worst of it was when Dr. Sanders pulled out a syringe with green liquid and stuck it in his ribcage, saying cheerfully, "This is for the good of mankind."

Elliot wakes suddenly, a terrified cry escaping from him. The moon is still high in the sky, and everyone appears asleep. He takes this fact as comfort. He doesn't think anyone saw him scared in his sleep. That would have been mortifying.

Bat was woken from Elliot's cry, but he did not move. Nightmare? If we were being attacked, someone else would've definitely woken up. He lied still, ensuring Elliot was quiet for an extended period of time. He then drifted back into slumber, dreaming about his past.

Bat's fifth birthday. He was given many gifts relating to combat and advanced technology. However, his last gift was the commanding scientist of the project offering him a syringe. "This injection will make you the most powerful human on the planet, Greybat!" Bat pondered the thought for no more than a second. He politely denied. "I do not seek power. I seek unity."

Elliot stares off into space for a few minutes, deeply lost in his own memories. That day in the lab scarred him. Many days in the lab scarred him. He looks around and decides to leave the cave for a bit, needing a little space.

Ketsueki wonders what's going on as she has no clue because her master was watching anime the majority of the day and is too tired to be able to read through four extra pages, but so far it appears that it shall be a feat she must overcome.

Falling asleep, her mind opened up like a time machine. Everything she had forgotten hit her like a fright train. Popping her eyes open, sweat barreled down her face as she panted heavily. "What the heck?" She whispers. Alyla ran her hand through her hair sighing. Then pain came back in her shoulder. She glanced at her shoulder to see that the wound wasn't healing and it had a purple tint to it. "Grey..." She whispers the first name that came to mind.

"The.... The bullet wound.... It's not healing." Looking from the wound into his eyes, Alyla winced as the wound started to make a slight sizzling sound. Hair around her face started to stick due to the sweat.

Bat analyzed the wound, turning on his Eye. The wound was infected and poisoned. How? I applied disinfectant and removed the bullet. The bullet must've been in there for a while. And what's with that sizzling? Bat took out an empty syringe and extracted some blood from the wound. He injected the blood into a small machine, which brought up DNA make-up, all information on Alyla Dawson, and compounds within the blood.

"Human-Wolf.. went missing at a young age... what kind of poison is this?" Bat knew every poison known to mankind, but this one. He then heard a sizzling sound from his shoulder. He did the same process with his shoulder and got the same poison. "This poison is basically wolf DNA with a mutation. In short, eventually this DNA will cause cancer because of our wolf DNA. If this were put into a normal human, this would make them one of us but immune to cancer. In other words, we can't cure this."

"Oh that's just wonderful." She mumbles before doubling over in pain trying not to scream. "If hunters don't kill us or old age, this cancer will." Alyla felt like her energy and strength was draining.

Bat stood up and took off his utility belt, which was rather well hidden. He put on a black muscle suit and sheathed his zap knife and silenced pistol. He put on sunglasses, which probably contained some technology also. He rolled a painkiller syringe to Alyla. "I'll be back." Bat ran off in the direction of the laboratory.

Barely nodding, Alyla got the sudden feel of puking. So she leaned over to her right as whatever it was came up. Stomach fluids with bits of blood. "Hurry Grey... Please." She whispered letting the wind take her words.

(Yes, they are just outside of the cave.)

(it was supposed to say laboratory, fixed it now)

Bat's top-grade military training was even failing under the effects of the cancer. Although he kept running faster, faster than usual because of his muscle suit even, the pain was going to be an issue. He must hurry before this powerful disease killed him, as he estimated it would before night fell.

Elliot, who is sitting at the base of a nearby tree, sees Grey run by. His curiosity is spiked, and so he follows Grey closely from the shadows, slight so as not to get caught.

The pain got to the point where she couldn't hold the scream in anymore. Tears rolled down her warm checks. Alyla didn't care if the hunters found her and killed her. All she cared about was ending the pain. Anything to end the pain. Even Andreasa was howling in the pain. Alyla's eyes flashed between hers and Andreasa's.

Bat eventually arrived at the laboratory, finding it empty. He searched and searched, getting slightly more desperate and slowly deteriorating his composure. He heard footsteps. They were a lot like Elliot's, but he was distracted from these by a scientist who walked out in the open. This scientist's coat was black rather than white. A man he knew all too well. "Dr. Sanders." The man grew a rather wide grin at the name. "My greatest creation, Agent Grey Bat. I had known once the hunters informed me they got a few shots in you would come." Bat winced at his own pain, and the sound of Alyla's. "Sounds like all of those shots weren't on you. I bet you'll be wanting this." Sanders held out two syringes with white liquid inside. The cure to cancer Bat developed when he was five. "I've wanted that back for a while. I wanted to inform the hospitals of it, but you stole it from me." Sanders laughed maniacally. "You see, you wanted to do it for free. That's where you went wrong. And plus, anything you make is technically mine." Bat fell to his knee, and the pain had increased to disability. He still refused to make a noise, only showing a tear rolling down his left cheek.

Suddenly remembering that she had a gift that Dr. Sanders himself placed in her, Alyla tried to use it. Grey...Grey.. Can you hear me?? If you can, please listen for I don't have much time left.... I... I remember everything. From the first day we shared a cage all the way up til.... But she didn't say it. I just want you to know... that you are my greatest friend. If there was one thing that kept me going all this time, it would be you. For you....are....my... But she wasn't able to finish the sentence due to something hard hitting the back of her head.

Ketsueki lies down just inside the cave, watching the others sleep and dream, twitch and scream, mutter and shutter. (honest to deathly unintentional rhyme there) They were certainly interesting specimens. As she watched the scene play out and Bat dash away from the group, she heard his words echoing in her head... "She's harmless..." Harmless...? HARMLESS?!?! The more she thought about it, the more enraged she became. Ketsui couldn't take it anymore. She got up and turned from the group and dashed into the cave. Perhaps she could find guidance and judgement within herself.

As the girl ventured deeper into the caves, thinking to herself, she found herself at a dead end, and as she turned around to walk back a quick shadow bolted in and out of her sight. What was that?? The she-wolf took a few steps forwards, curiosity flooding those aquamarine eyes of hers. "Who's there?" Her question had no effect on the situation whatsoever, as the illusive creature stepped back into her sight. What the fuck are you? This was her chance to take down the odd creature and show that she wasn't harmless. Although she still couldn't see the odd monstrosity very well, she could kinda sorta see an outline. It appeared to have a bald head, soulless eyes, and... By Hircine... it... it's jaw... They appeared to have little to no neck, as a quite large, semicircular shaped mouth and jaw, fangs jutting out from all sides of the mouth, and further teeth crawling all inside the being's mouth. (I'm sorry if I might be too graphic here, besides, what you're reading isn't the best description of it, I'd say :T ) With closer inspection it appeared as if there was blood leaking from all visible openings. Holy shit... The two thought in unison. Ketsui let Rosewillow take over, allowing her to take down the beast with more ease. She bounded around the side and tackled it, but ended up jabbing her eye into one of the spikes protruding from it's face. The she-wolf closed her eye as pain rushed through it and her head tore away, causing blood to rush at the back of her now closed eyelid. She adjusted her position to pin down the beast, and struggled to keep it subdued. The she-wolf heard a noise from the entrance to the cave and looked up at where she had came form real quick until... She felt something was wrong. Rosewillow looked back down on at her paws to see that the creature had completely vanished.

"Shit, shit, shit, shit, SHIT!!" The imaginary pain in her left eye quickly subsided. "WHY THE FUCK MUST YOU BE SO WEAK?! YOU HEARD BAT SAY IT, HIMSELF!! YOU'RE WEAK AND HARMLESS!! YOUR BEST FRIEND CALLED YOU FUCKING HARMLESS!! WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU?!?!" Anger and frustration pounded through her and she opened her mouth to scream once more, when she was silenced by her vicious coughing. As her throat felt to be pounding at her, screaming at her, she merged back into Ketsueki and collapsed on the floor, the cold cave floor chilling her bare arms. More vicious pounds from her throat, a large amount of blood tearing it's way out. Ketsui sighed. Fuck. She lifted herself back up to her feet and supported herself against the wall. I'm not harmless, I'm not harmless, I'm not harmless, I'm not fucking harmless... She stumbled, trying to speak again, but to no avail, her throat hurt too much to utter a single word.

Bat was ultimately surprised to hear Alyla's thoughts. That's right...this does exist. You have enough time for me to get this cure. We'll both die in about 2 hours of suffering. I will kill Sanders if I must. "Give me.. my fucking cure."

She heard Grey's voice but not the words he spoke. Alyla was being dragged by her arms. Not across dirt or rocks, but on actual flooring. Then she was lifted up and placed on a table where her hands and feet were cuffed. The two men that were dragging her went to the room that Dr. Sanders was in. "Dr. Sanders, sir. She's been captured and in the room as you instructed." Then they left.
