Tenno arched an eyebrow at Gecko's nod to his rant, not fully expecting anyone to agree. Everyone else seemed so blasted taken with the damn Leaderboard, he feared he was the only one who recognized it for the insult it was. he had even go so far as to act more like a practice dummy for his sparring matches, preferring to let others experiment with moves then actually winning. Of course, there had been a few times he wanted to test a tactic, and each time had resulted in a victory, which was why he wasn't on bottom.


Making a mental note to help who ever was in last to train, Tenno finished constructing his salad with a quick dose of dressing. He glanced back when he heard Theta speak.


"Looking forward to army food?" He said with a smirk. "Perhaps sick bay is a better destination."


Ah, he was feeling better. Of course, he had missed making a similar comment to Gecko, but one couldn't win them all.


"Certainly." Tenno answered Disrupter.

Pixie accepted Sigma's hand shake with a grin.


"I look forward to your marshmallows." She said cheerfully.


She honestly wasn't sure who was gonna win the match, but she couldn't resist making small bets. She gave Vanguard a shrug in response to his answer to her question. She wasn't sure it was worth the investment.


Considering what Sigma had asked, Pixie tried to analyze the fight. She tried to apply what Tenno had taught her back when she had been at the bottom of the Leaderboard.


"I'm...not sure." She finally answered. "Maybe they're trying to keep it together until they're fast enough to try and catch Rho?"


She looked a little worried as Cala managed to get Rho's ankle. She glanced up when Anubis came in.


"Hey, Anubis." She greeted, flashing him a smile. "Calavera. Just smacked Rho as they fell."

"Calavera has got this easy. Rho is the better fighter but Cal's armor is just too contradictory to hers. They could easily eat up her hits and if they land one good shot with stored up energy she's done for." Anubis started pacing and thinking about how Rho could take the match, "maybe if she baited him out without attacking him he'd get tired and have no charge in his armor. Then she could strike with little to no resistance."


He liked trying to pit the others against each other in his mind. He tries to keep up with everybody's strengths and weaknesses so he can figure out how to not only counter them in a sparring match but also help them improve their skills.

Calavera - Arena


Cala rolled as soon as they hit the floor, knowing that if they laid there then they'd be easier to shoot than a fish in a barrel. They heard one of Rho's blasts hit the floor behind them, and the other hit their back. They bit through the pain. This was getting dangerous. Their chest was starting to hurt from the blasts from the gun and they didn't know how much more they could take. They jumped to their feet, trying to keep moving while returning blasts from their own guns, the occasional hit stinging their skin, but the armour took most of the force and was still powering up.


Cala glanced up at the corner of their visor, seeing how much charge their armour had accumulated. Thy decided that it was enough and dropped their guns, instead jumping forward, their enhanced muscles digging contracting as their boots dug into the floor, then they were fired forward, straight towards Rho, perfectly aimed to slam right into her.

Theta - Mess Hall


Theta laughed at Tenno's joke as she made her way over to the food. Normally he'd be right. That stuff was usually worse than dog food, though it may have actually been dog food at some point. Theta remembered when she'd eaten some as a dare back when she lived with her parents. It wasn't exactly the best meal she'd had.


"Normally, I'd be inclined to agree with you there," She called to Tenno, looking over the options, "But I have been very hungry lately. Anything looks good really." She told him, pulling out a tray to put her food on. She glanced back at the group. "Anything new happen?" She asked the room in general.

As Gecko waited for a response, she noticed some chatter coming from further down the hall. She turned her head, and saw that Theta and Psi were walking down the hall. She smiled at both of them and waved back to Theta, watching her eye the food hungrily. Gecko herself looked instinctivley glanced to where Theta was looking, her stomach grumbling loudly as the thought of food resurfaced in her brain.


She looked back to Disruptor, who had been talking to Tenno, she thought for only a moment that she may have to bail on their conversation to get food. She couldn't push away the hunger any longer, if she didn't get sustenance soon she thought she may pass out. Of course, she was being over-dramatic as usual, but the point still stands.


The thought flitted away as Disruptor spoke that he would be joining her. She let out a sigh of relief, it seemed to her that things were going well for her today. A great workout session, a huge pile of food, and company? It felt like Christmas had come early.


"Oh no I don't mind." She spoke enthusiastically "It'll be nice to have company" She finished her sentence, looking to Tenno to see if he would also be joining, who was looking at her questioningly. She gave him a confused look back, unsure of what she had done.


Gecko couldn't help but overhear Tenno's comment to Theta, and laughed at his humor. It was true, the food there could get a bit... unappetising... She could only think of a few items they had served that she truly would never eat. Other than that, she had learned to like most of the food they had, of course she couldn't think too long for what it was made of, but if she wanted to not starve to death she would have to eat it regardless.


"It could be worse" She spoke to Tenno after he had confirmed that they would be eating together "We could be eating literal shit" She pauses for a moment, as if thinking about something "Well, it might feel like it some time's, but for the most part the food isn't that bad." She finished, grinning at herself as she started walking towards the food.


Finding the food in seconds, she piled her plate high with something that looked like spaghetti and some kind of meat, but knowing this place it could really be just about anything. But, trying not to think about what kind of mysterious meat she had on her plate, she continued piling a mountain of food on her plate.


"Not that I can think of" She spoke, hearing Theta's question. "I think there's a fight going on right now, couldn't tell you who's against who though."

Anubis thought about his place on the leaderboard. He knew he could do better, but he wasn't too worried about his own position at the moment. His real issue was with the very top.


"This fight is getting more intense, but what I can't stop thinking about is Omega. I think someone needs to knock her down a peg. But who...?"

Reign- Arena


Reign finished up with the bags and he walked over to the arena trying to see if anyone would spar with him. He saw Anubis and decided he would be perfect and when he approached him all he heard was Omega and knock down a peg. Reign said to him


"That's my job but right now after they finish up do you want to spar."

Anubis spun around to see Reign enter the room. "Do you really think you can take her down? Nobody has been able to yet." He considered the sparring request from the man in front of him and decided he could probably take Reign. His movements are too animalistic. Anubis' fighting style could definitely give him the advantage, even though he was much lower on the leaderboard.


"Sure. We can spar!" This was a good chance for Anubis to prove his worth.

Reign didn't expect much from Anubis but as soon as he said he couldn't beat Omega he decided he would give Anubis a little beat down to show him what he can do but all he could do right now was wait in his head he thought hurry up this is taking to long.


"Hey Anubis why do you seem so confident I can't beat Omega."

- Vanguard - Observation room -


Vanguard overheard what Anubis and Reign were speaking of Omega, prompting Vanguard to have a serious expression while he watched Rho and Calavera fight. And as Reign seemed eager to beat Omega.


"Because her armor's enhancement allows her to be a mobile tank, and a killing machine my friend." Vanguard spoke to them. "While she is not invincible, I myself have had quite the spars where I came out on top of her in sheer meele prowes...kind of the reason I am in second place..." Vanguard turned to them, crossing his arms.


"You need to pierce through her armor's healing and strenghtening abilities if you wish to beat her. Your ability might prove useful, shocking her, but for how long? even thoug hshe cannot adapt to an element like me she still had the skills to back her up." He raised an eyebrow and smiled.


"Want some advice? Omega seems to go with a real, by the books strategy in both ranged and meele combat, if you can surprise her, do something hard to counter, or manage to counter her blows and turn them against her...you might be able to just get your wish." Vanguard stopped for a moment.


"If you can use your electricity to overcharge her suit and nanites, you might be able to make her ability backfire on her...however doing so would probably harm her...permanently. And If you do that, You will have a horrible time..." Vanguard warned Reign.


"And a spar would do nicely...would you two be up for a three way free for all?" He asked them with a smile.

"Why a sickbay? we have Savior right here" Disruptor spoke wit ha small smile and a laugh as Savior flew up and down quickly trying to show aggreement.


He went along to pick up some food along the others, as Ravager followed him closely, while Savior would be flying around, examining the place like the curious little bastard that he was.


Disruptor ended up making...quite the plate, some spaghetti, some chicken? he thought anyway. And some more stuff, specially spicy sauce, in which he used on his food a bit.


"By my calculations...and by that I mean me having surveillance access to the main cameras of this base, I can see that the fight is Rho versus Calavera...Oh boy. This should be interesting." Disruptor explained to them all.

"I'm confident that you can't beat her because one, her nanites will fight off your electricity, and two your style is too wild. You bank on your unpredictably but that makes you even more predictable to a trained fighter. Take me for example. I am a martial artist with eloquent fighting style. My moves may be predictable but they are truly effective." He realized this was coming off cocky but he didn't really care.


"Im not saying you have zero chance against her, but it'll be a very rough fight for you if she can catch you off guard, something i predict wouldn't be too hard."

Reign- Observation Room


Reign didn't enjoy the negativity coming from Anubis's mouth but he appreciated him giving a full access of the situation and when he heard what Vanguard had to say he almost smiled he was kind of taken aback by how people access his fighting style as to wild or so unpredictable it's predictable when he saw it as not be held to BS fighting styles and letting his true nature show.


"Anubis I've fought her before many times and she has killed me every time but next time will be different and Vanguard thanks for the information and I don't care if she gets hurt all she does is toy and play with me.

"I meant no offense to you Reign, I just over-analyze the competition. I think I've pit every one of us against each other in my mind a hundred times." Hearing Vanguard's request to join the match worried Anubis. He knew that statistically he was already at a massive disadvantage against Reign. His Jiujitsu would be able to counter Reigns strikes and turn them against him but the electricity would prove to be a big issue. Vanguard is a different issue all together. Reign's electricity would be completely useless against him and a parry from his sword would prove devastating to both of them. If they both focused their guns against him they could weaken him but that would require cooperation.


It would be risky, but a fight against two opponents that are both more than 10 places above him would be huge for his ranking. Is it a risk worth taking? "I don't see why not Vanguard. If it's okay with Reign I'll take you both on haha" He smiled nervously yet with a sense of excitement.

"A fight with the number 2 Vanguard himself who wouldn't accept, you seem a little nervous I hope this will be a good fight."


I know Vanguard will give me a lot of trouble but if I beat him my ranking will go up so I'll use Anubis to help me attack Vanguard which probably still won't be enough and then Anubis will be easy to take out. He might've been acting like Omega looking down on his opponents so he ran it through his head again.


"I think we have another sparring arena if you guys want to head off now."

"I'm up for it. Lets head out!" He smiled while trying to think about how to handle this battle. He needed this to go well.

Rho saw that Calavera was charging now. She knew that she had sufficiently damaged him, at least to the point that he was comfortable putting out the finishing blow. She sidestepped, moving out of the way in the nick of time. As he continued to fly past her, Rho took the opportunity to try and put out some more pain. She pulled out her tomahawk and flicked it on. She threw it, it spinning through the air. She had aimed for a slightly less armored piece of the bulky frame that Cala employed.


[sigma - Observation Room]


Sigma laughed at the talk going on around him. "As the third place, and one of the few that can put up a real fight against her, the brass love putting us up against each other. And trust me, she fucking hurts like hell!" He said genuinely. "Vanguard has said basically anything I would have. Beating her is a question of if you can stay up long enough to overload her healing processes, which is really tough to do. She basically has the tankiness of Vanguard here along with the speed of say me. Add to that her insane skill and it's tough to counter. I've only managed to stump her healing a couple of times using explosive spam tactics, but even then I took a hell of a beating trying to stay up to do so." He spoke, talking to the others, but keeping his eyes on the match, not wanting to miss a moment of it all. As they started to leave, he called to them. "Come on now, you're gonna skip out on the end of this match for a boring Armorless slapping match? Stick around for the end at least."


[Omega - Gym]


Omega raised an eyebrow at Reign's declaration of hatred. How edgy. She glanced to Destroyer, while rolling her eyes. Check out this guy, she seemed to be saying. She wasn't met with much sympathy. Whatever. "I don't see why this is a bad time. We all need to push ourselves harder. The aliens will be back any day now, and if we don't get better we'll be as screwed as we were the first time. I just want him to step up." She excused her actions as at least semi-productive. She had a point, even if her intention had really only been to be mean. "I just got off a workout and saw him working up a sweat. I was gonna go change, maybe check out the match. What about you?"


[Psi - Mess Hall]


"It's all about looking at the bright side of things guys." Psi spoke up a bit. "If you lower your expectations of the food to literal shit, then eventually it'll taste great." He didn't pick up much, an apple and a small pouch of snack mix. He may have talked a big game about the food, but generally he didn't go for anything that required any cooking. He walked back over to the table that Tenno was seated at, and took a seat himself. He bit into his apple, glancing up to Disruptor who mentioned that it was a Rho and Calavera fight. Ha, that would be pretty one-sided. He didn't feel so bad about missing it now.

Vasir - Gym


Heavy mechanical footsteps could be heard outside the Gym by those who were aware and not currently training extensively, their booms grew louder and more clear as they approached, culminating in the automatic doors opening as Vasir stepped in, fully clad in her armor with cold mist emanating from it. Coming to a stop near Omega and Destroyer, she lightly waved her arms outward before speaking in a mechanically enhanced voice through her helmet. "The Tank and the Champion herself! How are you two doing then?" She questioned them courteously while noting that the training bags had seen recent use...either they used them or there was another here earlier, probably Reign trying to beef himself up to finally take on Omega. "Heh. Not before me." She thought to herself.


Broker - Mess Hall


In armor, but helmet down, Broker had entered the Mess Hall after everyone else who was present there, ordered a Burger and sat down with a deep exhale. He'd broken a chair again in his room out of rage, one that came from nothing yet still burned inside, only ceasing when he took such a rash action. "This is no good...I cannot keep snapping like that, or I'll slip down the ranks faster than I can say "How unfortunate." ...fuck." His thoughts were negative, subsiding as he ate his Burger however, though he had to make a conscious effort to eat slowly as his usual eating habit landed him with Heartburn...yay.

Anubis Observation room


"Alright guys, sig has a point. We should at least stay to see how this fight wraps up," he said without tearing his eyes away from the fight. He was stunned at the deftness that Rho showed by dodging Cala's attack and following it up with an amazing tomahawk. "Besides, we all know in a fight without armor I would whoop both your asses."

Reign- Observation Room


"Ok I'll watch". Reign didn't pay much attention to the fight, he was just bored and angry, so he needed someone to take it out on and Anubis was perfect but now with Vanguard in the fight he calmed down accessed the situation and started thinking.


Anubis very good at close range combat he might be able to keep me pinned with the turrets and me not being able to get close, but I have electricity which could short circuit those turrets but only after we deal with the absorbing armor of Vanguard and the parries I just hope he can keep up with at least 3 attacks at once.


He felt more confident in his abilities after thinking about what he could do about their suits powers. He refocused on the fight at hand and noticed Rho is getting even faster which scared him he muttered to himself "I wish I had my visor".

Audio - Personal Quarters





Feet propped up on the storage box at the end of his bed, Audio sat listening to his music through his headphones. His foot tapped to the rapid beat, and a neutral face of thought graced him. He was somewhat zoned out, and the lighting in his room was turned down to low, making him slightly drowsy. His hands fittled with one of his kunai, flipping the blade in a full 360 degrees before it landing in his hands once again. His mind was elsewhere, a certain memory in his mind. A personal thought, one he hadn't ever shared with another. His thoughts were disrupted by a mental barrier stopping him from sleeping during the day, as he could be more productive. Audio slowly rose from his bed, stretching his drowsiness away. He placed his kunai back on his bed table, and left his abode.


Once in the hallway, Audio turned left , heading down the hallway toward the mess hall. The walls around him made him feel slightly restricted, but he had been building a resistance to that since a young age. He often felt like the people who were providing them food, would also be the ones who stopped the supply of it, making the end of them. "I mean, who just raises people like us, supplies us, and then doesnt call us to action. We really need a mission, I can sense everyone else's tension, an eager feeling to actually do something. Or maybe that's just me," Audio thought.


Arriving at the mess hall, Audio looked for those either eating or socializing.

Theta - Mess Hall


Theta listened to the others as she piled food onto her tray. It was some red, meaty thing, like tomato and mince. It smelled slightly like tomato as well so it couldn't be that bad. She took a fork and her tray and walked back over to the table. She slid onto a seat next to Psi and looked around the group, starting to shovel the chili-like food into her mouth as she listened. She glanced up as Disruptor mentioned the fight. That did sound pretty interesting.


"Aw man, I would have liked to see that." She said, through half a mouthful of food. She swallowed, taking another forkful but speaking before she started eating this time. "Speed and skills vs brawn and tactics."

Calavera - Arena


Cala skidded to a stop as Rho moved out the way, digging their boots into the ground again to get rid of their momentum, turning and barely dodging the tomahawk they hadn't actually known she'd thrown. She was attacking back. They could handle that. They spun to face her in her new position, raising their arms and firing their guns at her, some shots flying to her left. Come on, they thought to themselves as they started backing away slightly, increasing the distance between the two of them.

Pixie half watched the match playing out in front of her and half listened the conversation that was going on around her. Since she was climbing up from the bottom, she hadn't really considered how to take on the top of the Leaderboard. She had scene Omega fight and had been impressed. In the grand scheme of things, Pixie was just happy to have Omega on her side against the aliens.


"No kidding." She commented on Reign's muttering. "Things are getting hard to follow."


Popping up, Pixie moved to one of the computers in the observation room. After a few seconds of scanning options, she clicked on an icon and typed a command. A monitor flashed on above the view port, showing the fight, but slowed down to better catch Rho's movements.


"There we go!" Pixie declared triumphantly. "Instant reply!"

Tenno began eating his salad as he watched his teammates with interest. People had always interested him, even as a child. And since his life could very well depend on these people, he needed to know what made them tick.


He was considering what tactics both Rho and Calavera should take against each other when Psi took a seat with him. Psi intrigued Tenno. Deception was a key part of war. To make it your speciality was a daring move. He had often wondered how far the deception went...


"Your analysis of the fight?" Tenno asked Psi casually before taking another bite of his salad.

[Rho - Arena]


Rho grit her teeth. This would be a fair bit more difficult, what with her messed up ankle, but she thought she could pull it off. Rho put her guns away as she focused on her movements. The bullets came towards her, but she activated her enhancement. She slipped through and around the bullets, a move she doubted she could pull off again. This might be it for her, if it failed, she didn't know if she could dodge another blow. She came very close to Calavera, and once she did, her claws extended once more. Rho lunged forward, stabbing them at Cala. She increased the heat on the blades, so that they could potentially deal more damage.


[Psi - Mess Hall]


Psi looked to Tenno, then shrugged. He took another bite of the apple in his hands. "No different than anyone else's I suppose. Calavera gets stronger with every hit. And Rho specializes in lots of weaker blows, that likely won't damage his bulkier armor. It seems fairly obvious that the odds are against her." He said, continuing his casual speak, his words not abnormal in any way. They were the same thoughts that the rest of them were having, he was sure. "But..." He considered things a bit longer. "She could still pull it off if she plays things smart. Waits for opportunities where he's more vulnerable and she can dish out a big hit like from her gun. Play matador maybe, smack him around using his own momentum and strength. She has the reflexes for it. I just don't think she's smart enough to do it. All that bitterness has made her blind from better tactics." He added to his previous statements some of his own observations. Were they a bit much? Perhaps, but they were true.

"Oh wow, I think shes got it here. Those claws are coming in HOT...hahaha" He laughed at his own dry joke. He was however being serious in the fact that his money was now on Rho to take the fight. A hit like this could be devastating.

Reign thought back to his exchange with Omega and he thought "maybe I took it too far by saying I hate you, I actually enjoyed Omega until her sudden shift in personality she's just bothering me."





Reign looked at Anubis a very menacing stare "please don't ever do that again that joke was not HOT." Reign laughed at his own joke and quickly acted like that didn't happen he refocused on the fight at hand.


I think Calavera might have this Rho looks hurt her ankle it looks pretty bad this is going to be a clash finish.

Theta quickly swallowed the actually tasty chilli, looking around the people she was sat with. She shrugged.


"You say she's not smart, but she is higher in the leader board than us." Theta reminded him. "But those do seem like valid tactics, might use them if we ever have to fight him." She joked, then paused and raised an eyebrow. "Wait, what bitterness?" She asked, Psi's words finally sinking in. It's true that she didn't know her teammates very well, but surely something that affected the way she fought would be obvious.

Calavera - Arena


Cala blinked and the red circle on their visor had moved. Not the way they had planned for Rho to move, but it would work, maybe. They dropped the guns, or stopped firing them at least since they were attached to their armour, and quickly raised their hands. They gasped sharply as Rho's hand collided with their chest, why did everything have to hit their chest? They were going to have bruised ribs after this. They hand's clamped around Rho's arm, careful not to do too much damage. Their armour was very strong now, and they didn't want to break Rho's arm while not even attacking her. Trying to ignore the pain in their chest, Cala let go with their right hand, using their left hand to pull her towards them, while quickly pushing their right palm forward towards Rho's solar plexus.
