Realistic or Modern We'll Get Through This Together

Nicolette just shrugged her shoulders and shook her head. "No thanks. I'm not really that hungry," she said softly. She walked over and picked up her guitar and iPod before going out onto the balcony. Closing the sliding door behind her, she sat down in a chair and put her hair phones in, turning the music up. She sighed softly and started playing along to the songs, singing them as well.

Issac sighs, realizing she probably didn't even notice his presence, as she turned to shout at the others when she got angry, and ignored practically everything he said. He sits down on the floor, leaning his back on the wall. "I've set them all on the same currency." He muttered, sliding the walky talkies across the floor to Vinaya, Thommy, and Xavier. He stared down at the ground, deep in thought.

"Suit yourself," Vinaya said quietly. Nico really should eat, considering food may not be a guarantee they'd have for long, but Vinaya supposed that she couldn't force it. Life was so much easier when she only had to look out for herself. "That iPod could probably get us a half decent apartment," she muttered, but without any conviction. If it somehow comforted Nico, then by all means; she had no place telling her what to do with it. "Thank you again, Isaac," she said, picking up the walkie talkie. "Don't feel so dejected." She was about to add that his efforts were rather kind, but realized that it might not mean much to someone like him. "She'll come around." Hopefully. Before her patience wore thin.

"It's just that I've felt dejected my entire life. I thought things would change since the escape. Apparently I was wrong." He said, standing up. "She probably will come around, but not before she'd done being an ass to us for just trying to help. If you need me, you know where to find me." He sighed, walking away, a sadness in his step.

Cassie had sat quietly through the whole little episode. She had handed her walky-talky to Issac when he asked for them. Nico's momentary outburst made Cassie uncomfortable, and she didn't know how to make things better so she kept out of it. She tried to focus on other things when Nico went on the balcony. She didn't even realize the amount of relief she felt when Kira and Issac came in. She just hoped Ava was okay. As well as Aspen, she hoped he didn't go far. Cassie thought that they should all get together and have a "group meeting" to just figure out their plans, and see how things were going to work out now.

"Don't expect things to change overnight," she chided him. "This is a huge change for all of us. Be a little more patient." Sometimes she was reminded of just how young they all were, and this was one of those moments. For a moment, she faltered in concern for her companions - these children. She was one of the closest to being an adult, and yet, she wasn't very far from them, either. "Let her be for a little while so she can... get it out of her system, I think the saying goes." She neglected to mention that he wasn't being all that kind either in his dejection and that she was expending just as much patience with him for his behavior now as she was for Nico and her conduct, but she figured that would only exacerbate matters. "But, very well. Do what you must."

Nicolette froze as one of her headphones fell out. She heard Isaac's comment about her being an ass and broke down in tears. Now she knew how they truly felt. She just wanted the subject to drop but they wouldn't let that happen and now she's the ass because of it.

Cassie was forced out of her thoughts from Vinaya's comment and thought about Nico. Maybe she doesn't want to talk about it... Much less think about it... Taking a deep breath, Cassie nervously stood up and went out onto the balcony, not making eye contact with any of them. "I'm not here to question you..." She said immediately to Nico. Then she stopped realizing she was crying and bit her lip. What have I just walked into...? She looked away from Nico and sat on the ground, dangling her feet through the rails. "Do you want to talk about something? Anything? Like... Like about that concert you went to see?" She wanted to get Nico's mind off of Aspen, so this was her best way of doing so. Cassidy just feared that she'd get yelled at, and told to leave her alone. Please don't let that happen...

He looked up at Vinny, "Well this is turning out to be a fun day in the park." He frowned and stood, " Thanks for breakfast." He grabbed his plate and sat it in the sink. "Once everyone eats, or a couple of hours pass I'll get the dishes done." He looked out at the Balcony and looked at Cassidy for a moment before turning away.

"Well for one, glad to know I'm an ass for wanting to forget about the whole situation," Nicolette said referring to Isaac's comment. "And for two...." she took a deep breath, "It was amazing."

Cassie ignored the first comment, reminding herself that that was not why she came out here, and she didn't want to make it why. She smiled from the second comment and looked at Nico, "Tell me about it? What band was it again?"

"Panic! At The Disco," Nico said with a small smile. She was glad that someone could talk to her without bringing up the situation.

"I hope we have extra money for Advil," Vinaya commented dryly to herself. Between Isaac's isolation, Nico's crying, and Cassie's overwhelming anxiety and concern over everything, Vinaya was actually having a difficult time coping herself. Part of her wanted to scream at them for being so illogical and immature, but a more rational part was taking her own advice to heart. This was a huge adjustment for all of them, herself included, and she ought to accommodate a little more effectively. This part of her somewhat wished she could empathize with them, with any of them, just for a little while so she wouldn't be such an intimidating pariah in their group and so that she wouldn't spend so much time simply getting irritated. To Tommy, she said, "yeah, wonderful. Great start. Thank you for the dishes." For a moment, she followed Tommy's gaze to the balcony before he averted his eyes. "Looks like Cassie's making some progress. Hopefully -" she cut herself off for a moment, repressing what could've easily been a scathing remark. "Hopefully she can help Nico feel better," she amended carefully.

Cassie smiled thinking, "I know I've probably heard their songs before, but I can't recall much about them. May I, uh, listen with you?" She glanced at Nico not sure if she was the "sharing" type. So far, however, things were looking much better than before.

He looked at her for a moment, "Give everyone a chance. This is a big deal.. Most of us were at the place our whole lives. What we've done is taken a bunch of hormones and threw them in an apartment together. The closest things to adults are you and me." He looked at the walkie talkie for a few seconds, "and let's be honest Vinny." He looked back at her, "we are just kids ourselves."

Handing her an ear piece, she played a song and spoke. "This is There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey. You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet. Long title I know, but it's a good song," she said as they listened.

"I know," she sighed, looking at the floor. And she did; she knew it very well. It was just proving difficult to make her feelings agree with her logic. "I'm being as patient as I can, but... I've never cared much for another human being my entire life. And suddenly, I'm supposed to be caring about all of you. I'm trying, I am." She shrugged; she didn't feel as though she had to explain any further. "Not to mention we're on our own now. We made this decision, and we have to stick with it. If we're going to be living like this, we need to grow up. For us, it's easier; we're older. But for them... they're younger. It's a sacrifice."

Cassie smiled and listened, tapping her foot lightly as she listened. "It's a good song, I like it. However, I've already forgotten the long title." She laughed softly and thought for a moment, "There's a Good Reason These Tables Are Turned Honey? You Just Haven't Thought of It?" Cassie tried her best guess, but she knew something was off, and she laughed softly at herself.

Nicolette couldn't help but laugh slightly, "Almost. It's There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey. You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet." She smiled slightly playing along with the song.

Cassie grinned, "Well, close enough!" She smiled and continued listening and looked at Nico. An actually successful comforting... Didn't know I was capable of that. Cassie realized for the first time, her own easier social side. Maybe I'm not as hopeless when talking to people as I thought... What started off as Cassie just trying to comfort Nico some, Cassie had managed to comfort herself, and this was probably the best she felt from the whole day. Looking off into the city distance Cassie thought maybe it was possible that this escape could be even more rewarding than it appeared in the beginning. Maybe these other kids, really were her friends? The thought honestly startled her some but also made her smile more. Cassidy closed her eyes enjoying the music.

(If you guys don't mind, can we skip a few hours ahead? My character needs to be gone for while, but it's really quite boring waiting. Sorry for posting this here by the way, but I figured it was more likely to be noticed.)

I think we could do that, there's no other huge events happening at the moment, so we can let everyone finish up with their last thoughts for now, then we could skip to maybe sunset for the day. Also thank you for bringing it up and asking. It's important for keeping the rp going. :)

Xavier sat quietly in the corner of the main room, sitting on the remains of a dresser, swinging his feet idly and staring off into nothingness. It wasn't that he was bored by the group or anything, he was just thinking. And avoiding drama if he wanted to be honest with himself. Yeah he grew up on the streets and was super confident on his own, but that was just it. He wasn't on his own anymore, and wasn't sure how to feel about that. The group was nice, but he didn't fit in. Cassidy had basically already said she didn't approve of what he did, and she was probably just the first of them to voice an opinion about him. Sighing quietly to himself, Xavier hopped off the dresser and wandered into the empty halls, finding the roof in almost no time. The sun was beating down on the city, but it didn't bother Xavier at all even though he was in jeans and a thick tee shirt. Glancing around the roof, Xavier spotted the air conditioning system and climbed on top of it, laying back and watching clouds roll by over head.

(Alright guys! We're going to skip ahead a few hours, to 7 at night! If you had any last minute posts for this time, feel free to finish them up, otherwise, we can start at 7 now!)

Issac wasn't reading for once, he was staring out the broken window, thinking. He knew that although Nikki's reactions were totally unnecessary, he was being more of an ass to everyone than she was. Maybe he'd go apologize later, for no he just needed some time to clear his head, and think. (Alrighty, that's my last post for now.)
