Realistic or Modern WELCOME TO THE ISLAND OF VAHLIA (always accepting)

After a few minuets Iris had already smashed the window to open the door for the women who was knocked out cold. As the ambulance and fire fighters came, they took the women away and cleared up everything. "I should have stayed at home," she said to herself as she gave them her information. Iris looked at her bike that was under the car and shook her head,"That's just great." She said to herself. "I'm already at the beach so I might as well enjoy it." She said and headed over to the tiki bar to get something to drank and hopefully eat.

Kianna looked at Boris. "Um no thanks sorry." she said, " I'm not into that kinda thing" . She turned away from him and got her ice cream. she started to walk around the beach, enjoying the view until she was finish with her ice cream. Soon the beach stared to get filled with more and more people. As she was walking she suddenly felt tired of holding her surfboard and decided to walk home. As she was walking she spotted a familiar face. It was a girl that she'd seen surf before. 'what was her name again? Issy? Siri? Sirus? Iris! That's it!' kianna walked over to her and said "Hey, I've seen you around her before. You surf right?".

@sprouhtt

"Yeah, I do." Iris said as she took a sip of her pineapple drink. Iris flashed her a warm smile and ordered a drink for the girl since she felt bad that she was the only one drinking so she got her one as well. "I didn't catch your name," Iris said and turned to face her with her drink in one hand as her other was running through her hair. @Tola

Elena

Elena suppressed a laugh but couldn't quite cover up the grin that pulled on her lips as she watched the two brothers interact. Although it was different than what was going on in front of her, it made her miss her older brother. He used to try to hit on pretty girls at the mall when she was younger, and of course he would use her to talk to them. Usually he would make her skip over to a girl and tell her that he thought they were pretty, and then act all embarrassed. She shrugged off the memory and gave Ethan an understanding nod.

"Me too. Boring is my specialty." She took his phone and entered her number, adding her name with a heart right beside it. She immediately regretted it, thinking it was too flirty for her, but she accidentally saved it.

She handed Ethan his phone back. "There. You can call anytime." She said with a smile.

Standing 5'5" Elena did have to look up a bit to look at his face. She would admit that it was slightly distracting with his shirt off, but she done her best to ignore it. She moved her eyes to look around them on the beach, wondering what was a must do when you lived here. Surely it wasn't the tiki bar or ice cream stand. She probably should have done more research before she moved here.

"So, what's there to do here besides party?" She pondered out loud, looking back up at him.

Ethan smiled at the heart beside her name, slipping his phone back into his pocket. When she asked her question, Ethan smiled slightly.

"Most of my life is controlling my brother. There's surfing, swimming. Working, my brother and I work together. Uh... That's... That's about it." He laughed. He wished he hadn't mentioned working, it would be a little embarrassing to tell her that he and his brother were models...

Elena

Elena laughed when she heard him say a lot of his time was spent keeping up with his brother. She could definitely see him doing that.

"Oh? Where do you guys work?" She began walking again, at first backwards so he would get the invitation to walk with her and then began walking like normal.

She didn't particularly like standing in one spot for too long, especially when she was looking forward to seeing the rest of the beach. She had been to a few growing up, but they was nothing like this place. She ran her fingers through her silky red hair, ridding it of any tangles.

Ethan followed her, hoping it was the right thing to do. He blushes slightly at her question, digging his hands into his pockets.

"Uh... Few years back, when we were eighteen, Clif got the enlightening idea that we should send a few pictures of ourselves to the modeling agency on fifth street. We did, more as a joke than anything... And they hired us." He admitted.

"I really hate it, it's... Dehumanizing. But nobody else would hire me, so I'm kinda stuck there at the moment." He laughed, watching Clif abandon surfing and flirt with a couple bikini-clad women. For some reason, they actually seemed to like him.

Elena

Elena listened, her jaw nearly dropped when she realized he was a model but she held it together. She could totally understand why they would hire him, though. She blushed softly and cleared her throat.

"Well, a job's a job I guess. Are they looking to hire someone else? I'm looking for a job." She giggled after her sentence, shaking her head. "I'm obviously kidding. I'd never make it in a career like that."

She dared to walk a little deeper in the water, letting it cover her ankles. She should be a little concerned about another crab, but she didn't mind. The water felt too nice to refuse.

Ethan admired her for a second when her back was turned. She really was beautiful. "Actually, I think they'd love you. They're shallow, they love beautiful women. I'll talk to them, if you want." He offered, bending down and picking up a seashell. It was rather pretty, a conch with many different colors. After a beat, he offered it to Elena, smiling slightly.

He had been out of the dating game for a while. Unlike Clif, he just wasn't good at smooth talking or flirting. He was genuine, he was honest. And most women, no natter what they said, can only take so much honesty.

Elena

Elena could literally feel the fire underneath her cheeks. Ethan thought she was beautiful? She took the offered seashell and smiled. The colors were beautiful. It contained whites and browns with hues of pink. She thought a place on her bookshelf in her bedroom would be the perfect place to put this. She looked back to him and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"You think so? I guess maybe it's worth a shot."

She bit her lip, at a loss for words. Her family would laugh at a statement such at that, seeing how she never runs out of thing to say when she's around them. It's been so long since she's ever been in a relationship, or even talked to a man that she was remotely attracted to and she just didn't know how to respond. She silently cursed herself for being so awkward, it was truly unlike herself.

"Yea, I'll talk to them. No big deal." He shrugged. He seemed to notice her awkwardness, her shy nature, but wasn't fazed by it. Silence had never bothered him, he didn't need constant conversation. But he did feel the urge to speak.

"Listen... That party... If you're not against the idea of going with an old man, would you like to be my date?" He offered hopefully. He was not used to asking people out, but what did he have to lose? He'd lost all pride and dignity the second Clif hit puberty and became a magnet for desperate girls.

Elena

"Hm..." Elena hummed, turning to look at him. A grin played on her lips.

"I don't know, I mean... I think I can see your gray hairs." She soon let out another giggle. "Of course I'll be your date."

She placed a light hand on Ethan's arm, some kind of an apology for teasing him.

Ethan laughed loudly at the words. "I'm 24, not 44, Elena." He chuckled, running a hand through his hair. Just to play along, he pretended to check his hair for greys.

"Nope. No grey hairs on me." He smirked, eyes straying back to Clifton, who was already making out with one of the girls while the other watched jealously. "Why would anyone go near him? Especially women." He noted, frowning slightly.

Elena

Elena laughed at his reaction. He seemed like someone she could get along pretty well with. She somewhat frowned when she seen him so caught up in what was going on with his brother.

"Because some people don't really bother with getting to know someone." She said softly. "It takes a little more effort to talk to someone rather than trying to get in their pants."

She hoped she hadn't said anything out of line. Nevertheless, she felt like what she said was true.

Ethan nodded, shrugging slightly. "He's not one for effort without purpose." He sighed, resigned. He forced himself to ignore his brother, returning his attention to Elena.

"So what about you? You go to college? Or are you a dropout like me?" He teased. He'd wanted to go to college, but hadn't had the money. Now, he felt like there was no point. As much as he hated his job, it had a good paycheck, and getting a degree probably wouldn't get him a better job.

Elena

Elena nodded, letting the conversation drop just as quickly as it was brought up. And there it was, that college question. How many times had she had similar conversations with her parents?

"Well, I never went." She admitted. "It just didn't seem like the life for me. I just wanted a different life than that, so I moved here. As awful as it sounds, my inheritance from my grandma is what allowed me to move so far away."

She swallowed the sadness that threatened to be dealt with. They had known she was going to die. She had outlived every time limit the doctors ever gave her, but eventually the cancer was the end of her. Elena was close to her. She had spent many a nights at her house baking pies, or her grandma would simply read some novel to her.

Ethan nodded slowly. "I'm sorry. Death in the family is never easy." He said quietly, hesitantly taking her hand and squeezing it lightly. He really hoped she didn't think he was making a move on her after she mentioned her dead grandmother, because that wasn't his intention.

"At least it brought you here, to Vahlia. It's... It's kinda home for people who need a fresh start. I just moved here couple years back from New York." He offered, smiling lightly at her.

Elena

"It's okay." She said softly, grateful for the support.

She held onto his hand. The feeling of having someone there for her felt nice. The small gesture meant more to her than anyone would ever know. She looked up at him, a faint spark of curiosity in her hazel eyes.

"So what are you running from, old man?" She mustered up a grin.

Ethan's eyes grew a bit distant at the question. "I... It's a really long story. But family issues, to put it simply." He shrugged. His family had invented the term 'dysfunctional'.

"You know the story already. Abusive, drunk father, pushover mother. It's not original." He sighed, his free hand touching his abdomen by reflex. His father had gotten a broken bottle in his hands at one point, and Ethan had almost died. If it hadn't been for Clifton, he would've bled out on the floor of their dirty living room when he was just 17. The pain eventually stopped, but the scar and the memories remained.

Elena

Elena's grin was immediately wiped off her face. She felt terrible for saying anything.

"Oh, Ethan..." She sighed, gently squeezing his hand. "I am so sorry. I didn't... I didn't mean anything. I didn't know."

As she apologized, all she wanted to do was hug him. She knew he was a grown man and he had gotten out of the terrible situation but she couldn't help the urge. While her family had never done any harm to her, she had known a certain type of abuse in her life.

"I know I'm still a stranger and all but.. I'm always here, okay? Any time you wanna talk. You have my number, after all."

"If you want to join me, I'll be done by the beach catching some waves." She said to the girl and Iris paid for the drinks that she had gotten and began heading towards the beach as she rented out surf board for an hour at one of the surf shacks. Iris had her bathing suit underneath her clothes since she was going to spend most of her time at the beach. Iris looked for a spot on the beach and she took off her shirt and shorts to reveal a very cute bathing suit underneath that she had got last week. Iris grabbed her surf board which was in a white color with beautiful floral designs going up the surfboard.

@Tola
