JD frowned some and took a deep breath "I....I don't know what to do Danny! I can't help her with anything these days! She deserves someone better." He explained

Max gave a small nod and sighed heavily making her way to the kitchen giving a small smile to her sister-in-law "Hey Clara...how are you?" She asked softly

He glared at him then. “Grow up! Don’t know what to do, be there support her and quit crying. That’s not gonna fix anything. How many times has she been there for you? She needs you this time so go be there for her.” He spat at him.

she smiled at her some and nodded. “Hey, I’m alright. I’d be better if tony didn’t work so much but with your man out of action Tonya been working every hour your father gives him.” She muttered frowning.

JD took a deep breath as he listened to Danny and finally it all seemed to click. He gave a nod and hugged his friend tight before he took off without another word making his way back to the hospital finding a nurse quickly to ask what was going on with her

Max nodded some giving a small sigh "Jon will be back soon enough...I'm scared now though. With what Danny has done...I have a bad feeling I'm going to loose him again."

She looked at him before taking him to her room "You can go in now but she's requested you not be told anything... She needs you there though." She told him gently, opening the door for him.

Carmen looked over at him and frowned some, swallowing back tears "Where did you go?" She whimpered "I woke up and they said you'd left."

She scoffed a little "The way he was when he was here last night he's going to prison soon. He's gonna get caught if he don't straighten himself up." She muttered and left the room to go check on her daughter upstairs.

Jd gave a small nod and rushed into the room shaking his head some "I was scared....I left and Danny smacked some sense into me. I'm here though baby, for you and our son." He said quietly kissing her knuckles repeatedly

Max gave a heavy sigh and started to eat quietly but frowned as it instantly came back up. She rushed to the sink and let it out quickly washing down the evidence and grabbing a glass of water for herself

She frowned shaking her head a bit. "Don't do it again... Please." She mumbled, gently pulling on him. "They said that excessive stress, plus the physical strain of pregnancy alongside previously undiagnosed health problems, is causing my heart to behave erratically." she explained. "Which is why I'm feeling dizzy and feverish. To a point that we're looking at c-section." She muttered. "And a lot of treatment after." She mumbled.

Jon came back down to her quickly and kissed her quickly, armed to the nines and in a hoodie and trousers plus boots rather than his usual suit. "I love you. See you later/" He muttered before rushing out the house.

Max frowned as she saw him shaking her head some "Be careful." She said quietly as he rushed out. She made her way to the living room and smiled happily when she saw her niece "Hey there princess how are you doing?"

JD gave a small nod and listened to everything she said frowning though when she talked about treatment "Treatment? What do you mean? What kind of health issue is it?" He asked as he gave her hand another squeeze

She frowned and gently held him a little closer "They don't know for sure yet but they're thinking a cardiac issue. They've taken blood samples and ultrasounds and whatnot, they can tell me by tomorrow." She explained, "They don't think I'm in any immediate danger though so they're gonna let us go to the sonogram and then let us go home. I got a whole list of appointments to go to but other than that, strict bed rest." She assured him quietly.

Guilia smiled and looked up at her aunt. "Hi Maxie... Daddy told me to stay in here and color... i went to grampa's office and I got told off.. I'm not supposed to go in without knocking." She told her, rolling her eyes a little. "Daddy told me that uncle Jon is really upset right now... why?" she asked her. "He was yelling a lot in grampa's office."

Max sat down and sighed heavily running a hand through her neice's hair "Because a very bad hurt his son sweetheart, and he had to go to heaven. So Uncle Jon is very upset about it." She said quietly to the little girl

JD frowned quietly and gave a small nod kissong her gently "Alright I promise to stay home and make sure you are taken care of." He said quietly sighing softly "I'll need to go to the precint soon to put my transfer request."

She nodded and frowned a little. "Thank you." She murmured, laying back a little and just waited quietly with him, "What are we gonna call him?" She smiled tiredly, rubbing circles in her bump when he started moving around.

She frowned some but nodded and looked up when her Dad came back into the room to get her aunt, going back to her coloring book

JD rubbed circles on her bump and smiled happily "What about Ángel?" He asked quietly kissing her bump repeatedly

Max got up when Tony came into the room and frowned some "Whats going on? Everything okay?" She asked softly

She smiled as she watched him, reaching over and running her fingers through his hair. “Mmm, I like that.” She told him, “Our little Ángel. I want Leonardo for the middle name. He’s our little Mexican el salvadorian, Argentinian and American-Italian boy.” She giggled, pulling him closer again until she was discharged and allowed to go home, forgetting until they got there and Jorge was helping her out of the taxi that her family was coming over to stay.

Tony frowned shaking his head, “he took off. He’s snapped theguys neck. Guess he got the information he wanted but he wouldn’t say where he was going.” He muttered. “I understand he’s angry. Shit I don’t know what I would do if it was my kid but this is dangerous for everyone what he’s doing.” He frowned

JD smiled happily and gave a nod "Sounds amazing." He said softly before he took her home just as her parents pulled up "Shit...I forgot they were coming.." he murmured to her kissing her temple gently still carrying her

Max sighed heavily and shook her head quickly pulling her phone out trying to call him. She frowned when he didn't answer and shook her head some "He isn't answering. Shit Tony what do we do?" She asked worriedly putting her hand towards her stomach "Tony I can't loose him again....he needs to be here for his other kid." She said quietly

She frowned some and sighed a bit "Do not... Tell him about what happened." she muttered looking at Jorge pointedly "I mean it." She muttered, having him put her down "Hey guys, sorry, completely forgot what day it was, we just got back from a sonogram... Come on in." She mumbled.

He frowned some and watched her "He know your pregnant?" He asked her "Better get married then." He muttered, looking up when one of his guys came into the room and gestured for them to follow to the other room, 'You need to see this.' He told them both, showing them the news channel where they were showing coverage of a high speed chase. As they zoomed in on the pursuit it became obvious that it was Jon's car.

Max shook her head some and took a deep breath "I was going to tell him last night." she said quietly to him. She looked over at the guys and followed quickly into the other room going wide eyed as she saw the high speed chase "Fuck! What happened?!" she asked worriedly turning up the volume trying to hear how this chase even started.

JD gave a small nod and smiled some at her parents "Hey there." he said before placing Carmen down once they got to the front door "Her feet got pretty swollen, doctor wants her off them for a few days." he explained before he unlocked the door and helped Carmen inside getting her straight to the couch to sit down

She smiled tiredly at him, chatting with her family for a while, letting JD go up and carry on getting his work transfer put in along with his paternity leave request, just wanting to have peace and quiet with him while they got themselves ready for the baby and she came to terms with needing to make some changes to her lifestyle but her brother and sister in law stuck around for another week and by the time they were leaving she was exhausted beyond belief, spending the day curled up on the couch watching bad tv with the dog next to her. The only consolation being that from the time Jorge got home he would be officially home until their son was six weeks old. “Hey!” She called as she heard him walk through the front door finally.

Charlie frowned shaking his head. “He found the nifhtclub they’ve been operating out of. Shot the whole place up.... reports are saying there were a good ten people in there.” He muttered looking over at max and frowned some. “He’s just making this worse for himself.” He muttered frowning, still watching the screen until they cut back to the chase in time to see Jon’s car swerve to avoid someone on a motorbike on the freeway and fly across the street before smashing into the middle barrier, flip a couple times and eventually skid to a stop looking completely crumpled.

JD had been slaving away trying to make sure he cleared everything up at work to where he could transfer clean and quick to an in office position. He was thankful the chief understood at this point, but he was still worried about Carmen. Her family had stayed a bit longer than planned and he could see how much it was taking out of her. As he finally arrived home he smiled some hearing her voice come from the living room. He quickly took off his shoes and made his way to her "Hey beautiful." he murmured moving her legs so that they layed on his lap massaging her feet gently "How was your day?"

Max took a deep breath and shook her head trying to keep her composure while he told her what happened. Though when they cut back to see Jon's car flipped she dropped to her knees and cried thinking she had truly lost him. She shook her head as the TV cut off and quickly got up grabbing her purse "Take me to him now goddamn it!" she yelled to her brother while he stood in front of the door to stop her from leaving

Carmen smiled tiredly. “It was good. We woke up at 7:30, had a nap, took a sink shower cause we were feeling dizzy, took another nap and then had some food. Little Angel really likes dairy free ice cream by the way. Oh! Did you get my check mix?” She pouted at him. “And then we’ve been on the couch since then.”

tony shook his head. “Max you.... fine. But you stay back and don’t get in the way. The less we have to do with this the better.” He told her and took her to his car, driving down there seeing as they could park up at a Cracker Barrel just off the freeway and still see everything that was going on, getting there quickly as possible and just in time for them to see Jon being pulled out of the wreckage, watching them get him on a back board and try to keep him alive before hauling him off to the ambulance.

JD smiled softly at her and gave her the bag of goodies "I did, I got you two bags." he said softly before he rubbed her bump gently "I can't wait to meet him finally." he told her before he ran his fingers through Jojo's fur when he whined "Oh buddy don't worry, I'll always love you." he murmured

Max watched the scene unfold and whimpered some letting a few tears fall "Oh god Tony...they won't let me see him if he makes it will they?" she whimpered hugging her brother tightly

“Ugh I knew there was a reason I love you.” She teased him, taking the bags quickly. “Mmm... he’s been a good boy. Just clingy today.” She mumbled when he moved to lay his paws on her tummy the whole time he was sat in front of them. “Probably can’t wait to meet his little brother.” She smiled tiredly. “Two months to go as of today .” She yawned, falling asleep with her feet still in his lap. Just exhausted by the smallest things lately.

he frowned shaking his head. “They will but hell be under police custody. It will all be supervised. Come on. They’ll take him to Memorial.” He told her and got her in the car, taking her straight over there. It helped that she got the call from the hospital on the way to tell her what had happened.

JD chuckled softly and smiled as he watched her some "Two months and counting." he murmured while she fell asleep. He sat there with her the entire time and ended up drifting off as well for the time being.

Max whimpered softly as they got into the hospital quickly finding a nurse "Jon Bernthal? I need to see him please." she said quietly looking over at the cop who soon came up to her once she heard her say his name.

She ended up waking up around eleven pm and stretched a bit, getting up to make sure the dog finally got fed and nudged JD some. “Babe. We should probably go to bed. Not the couch.” She murmured tiredly, sending him up there while she finished locking up downstairs, waiting for Jojo when he was doing his last bathroom trip then headed up with him, feeling dizzy again by the time she got to the top of the stairs and worse again by the time she got to their room, making it into bed and back to sleep quickly though.

She looked up on the records and nodded to her. “Ma’am if you follow this officer, he will take you up to the correct floor. Your partner is in surgery currently and they’ll be able to get you more information once you’re up there.” She promised the young woman, sending her with the cop. ‘Once he’s out of surgery ma’am you will be allowed to see him but I’m afraid there won’t be any privacy allowed. Are you aware of what he has done ma’am?” The officer asked her as they walked up to the correct floor.

Max followed the cop and shook her head some making sure she looked as guiltless as possible "No, I just got the call saying he was here. Officer what happened?" She asked still in a bit of a panic wanting her man to be okay.

JD woke up the next morning and sighed heavily seeing Carmen still asleep. He turned and rubbed her bump gently smiling some when he felt the baby move a bit "Hey there buddy...." he whispered

She stayed asleep another couple hours and eventually woke up to the smell of breakfast, heading down carefully and wandered into the kitchen seeing Jorge at the stove. “Hey... what time is it?” She asked him quietly, going to make herself a cup of tea but frowned at the lack of milk in the fridge. “Jorge I’m gonna give you one chance to tell me the truth... did you finish my oat milk?” She questioned him frowning and looking at her tea ready to cry over the fact she couldn’t have a cup of tea. “You need to go get some oat milk. Like right now.” She sniffled.

He explained the situation to her calmly. “Ma’am he will remain in custody until his trial. Once he is fit to leave this hospital he’s being arrested with no chance of bail. I’m sorry ma’am but I can’t let you have any privacy with him.”

JD looked over at her and smiled some "Its almsot 9." He said frowning when he saw how upset she was getting "I'm sorry I had to use it for breakfast, just give me a few minutes to finish this up and I will run to the store okay?" He murmured softly to her

Max took a deep breath crying softly as she nodded "I understand....thank you." She said quietly before she sat down in the waiting area. Trying to stay calm and keep busy while she waited
