JD rubbed light circles on her bump giving a small nod "A boy huh? I'd love that." He whispered to her before kissing her gently

Max woke up the next morning and groaned softly kissing Jon's cheek gently before yawning some and went to freshen up in the bathroom

Carmen smiled some, kissing him back and held him close. “You behave for me okay? I gotta go home, they won’t let me stay tonight but I’ll be here first thing with Starbucks.” She promised, kissing his nose. “Hey... don’t worry, I’ll have Jojo with me alright? He’s a good guard dog.”

jon woke up a little later on, managing to sit up and just waited tik his nurse came to check up on him and they started getting his discharge papers sorted while he waited for max to come out.

JD gave a heavy sigh and kissed her lovingly holding her close to himself for a moment longer "Don't come late...please.,c he whispered to her starting to dread being alone without her there "Danny....bring him...I want to see him."

Max came out and smiled softly seeing Jon signing his papers "Goodmorning handsome, how are you feeling?" She asked quietly kissing him lovingly before she sat on the edge letting him finish up.

She smiled and kissed his cheek. “Promise. I’ll be here early so I can walk in soon as they let me... I’ll text him but I can’t promise anything babe. He’s pretty busy with work.” She murmured, kissing his cheek again. “Get some sleep tonight, I love you.” She murmured.

He smiled some and reached for her hand. “Hey... we can go home in just a little bit. I got antibiotics to take. No exercise til I can walk two flights of stairs without having an asthma attack.... better cancel that marathon I was gonna do then.” He winked at her smiling some

JD gave a heavy sigh and nodded softly kissing her lovingly "I love you too...I'll see you tomorrow." He said softly holding her close before he finally let go and watched her leave

Max rolled her eyes and gave a laugh kissong him gently "I love you goofball." She murmured checking him over some "No more going out with my brother yeah? Don't need you getting hurt."

He gave her a mock salute and kissed her cheek. "Any chance you grabbed me clothes when I wasn't breathing?" He asked her hopefully.

Carmen did as promised and got up early, feeling rough as was humanly possible but pulled herself out of bed and went to Starbucks, picking him up a coffee and herself a frappucino, making it to the hospital with a couple minutes to spare before she was allowed to go in "Rise and shine buttercup, if I have to be awake and out of bed so do you." She called loudly to him. "They want youup and walking round, let's take our coffees outside... oh! I brought underwear."

Max gave a small laugh and shook her head "No but I got Sarah to bring you some." She murmured handing him some sweats and a t-shirt "I love you babe." She said softly

JD grunted some and took deep breaths looking at her whimpering some "Carmen? Are you okay? Are you okay?" He asked quietly having had a nightmare that she haf been kidnapped

She frowned and set the drinks down, pushing her sunglasses up and sat with him again "I'm fine babe, your child is making me puke a lot and kicking the hell out of my bladder but I'm alright." She promised him, taking his hands gently, "Come on, let's get you some clothes on and we can go for a little walk, get you moving." She murmured, kissing his cheek and helping him to get up so she could get him changed.

He thanked her quietly and smiled "Mmm... What did I do to deserve you?" He asked her happily, getting changed and finally finished signing his papers, handing them to the nurse when she came to check if they were ready, finally able to leave with her, one arm around her shoulders for a little support.

JD got up and got changed with her help taking a deep breath "I'm sorry I just....I had a nightmare." He said quietly kissing her cheek and then kissing her bump gently grunting as he got up.

Max helped him out to the car and gave a small smile kissing his cheek gently "Mmm I should be asking you that." She murmured yawning some before getting into the car with him

She just nodded some and kissed his cheek gently before helping him walk around the room a bit first. "Here, coffee." She smiled, handing him the cup and kissed his cheek again "Jojo told me he wants me to give Daddy all the cuddles in the world until you can come home." She winked at him, trying her best to cheer him up.

He chuckled quietly and leaned back, watching her drive. "You doing any work for your Dad today?" He asked her curiously, itching to get back to jobs and off of bed rest but he knew he couldn't push it anymore, hating being stuck on the couch half the time though. He was gonna go stir crazy soon

JD smiled some at her and sipped at his coffee kissing her cheek gently "Mmm I miss him...would you want to get another dog?" He asked quietly pushing some hair from her face

Max gave a small nod and sighed some "Yeah I've got some stuff you could help me with if you want." She said kissing him gently "I know it sucks that you gotta stay put but you gotta stay healthy for me."

She smiled some, having him sit down while he had his coffee at least. “I would... once our little one is a bit bigger though. I can’t train a dog a husband and a baby at the same time.” She winked at him.

“Yes ma’am.” He murmured, pecking her cheek, getting out and getting in the house once they gt there, going to lay in bed at least, with Dex hot on his heels.

Max smiled softly at him and Dex cleaning up a little bit before she made her way to sit on the bed with her laptop "So my father is trying to go a bit more legit." She murmured

JD rolled his eyes and chuckled a bit starting to walk around some more in the room with her "So are we going to take a longer walk than circles around the room?"

He nodded some, trying to sit a bit closer to her but dex moved to lay between them and refused to move, sprawling himself out across Jon. “I can’t upset the baby now can I?” He smiled tiredly.

“yes mr impatient, I just wanted to make sure you weren’t gonna fall over. You’re too tall for me to catch you.” She muttered, kissing his shoulder and headed out with him. She spent the next six weeks after that in and out with JD, seeing ye was up and down but they were finally letting him come home as long as he made it to his counselling appointments each week. She texted him early on though that she wouldn’t be able to make it as she’d been throwing up all morning and feeling like she’d been hit by a truck so told him to get a taxi.

6 weeks had passed since Jon's scare and he was finally good enough to go back to work. Max sat at her father's office going thrlugh some papers smiling softly as she saw him walk in with her father "Hey babe you have a good day?" She asked frowning some as he just gave a grunt as a response and followed her father into his office. Things had been startimg to get a bit tense as of late. Danny's men were being seen more frequently around town but no one could find where he actually was.

JD sighed heavily when he saw Carmen's text after he got out of his appointment and did his best to try and get a grip on it. He was still very hesitant to go anywhere without her there except for his appointments which was still shaky at best. He was soon being transferred to an office job at the precinct and would not be doing field work probably ever again. It upset him to an extent but he knew this would be the best direction for not only his state of mimd but his family's as well. He took a deep breath and ended up dialing Danny hopimg he could pick up because he couldn't bring himself to trust a cab or to walk home alone.

Danny frowned some and sighed heavily, "Hey man, look can I call you back? I'm drowniing in paperwork here and Steve's gonna kill me if he catches me on the phone." He told him and hung up before he could get a proper answer.

Carmen had fallen asleep on the couch waiting for him and woke up a couple hours later to Jojo barking because he was finally home, "Hey... You walk or something? What took you so long?" She asked him quietly, standing up carefully and stretching a little, shuffling over to him, slipping her arms around his waist and burying her face into his chest. "Your son is using me as a punching bag." she mumbled tiredly, "Welcome home though baby." She smiled up at him.

Jon frowned some, looking over at Max for a moment. In truth the day had been awful. Their informant for Danny's side had been useless after all and as soon by the time they had caught another of his men and finished questioning him, he'd died from the injuries Jon had given him. He took the ear lashing from Frank about backing off a little and sighed a little, rubbing his face, "Alright alright... I'll try again tomorrow. I promised Max I would take her out tonight." He told him, standing up and leaving the room, going over to her, slipping his arms around her from behind, "Hey... you ready?" He asked her, just looking worn out and grumpy.

Max relaxed softly against him smiling softly "How about we have dinner at home huh? Looks like it was a rough day." She murmured to him giving him a quick kiss before she turned in his arms to face him and wrapped her arms around his neck

JD got home a few hours later giving a heavy sigh kissing the top of her head "Yeah...I uh...I couldn't get a taxi." He murmured rubbing circles on her stomach giving a heavy sigh "Hey there little buddy....don't hurt your mommy okay? You gotta calm down." He murmured softly

She frowned some but nodded, smiling as she listened to him talking to her belly. “He says but dad I’m having too much fun.” She laughed quietly and kissed his cheek. “I’ve got soup in the slow cooker. Come lay down with me?” She asked him, gently tugging him towards the stairs.

he frowned shaking his head. “I promised you a night out and a night out is what you’re gonna get.” He murmured kissing her quickly before pulling away and nodded towards the door. “Let’s go.” He murmured, walking her out and making his way to his car, taking her home so they could both freshen up a little, waiting in the lounge patiently for her once he was ready.

JD gave a small chuckle barely any joy to it at all as he followed her to the room and layed down with her in bed "I love you..." he murmured quietly

Max smiled some and gave a nod "Alright alright." She murmured before she followed him out. She made sure to touch up her makeup and put on his favorite set of lingerie along with one of his favorite dresses. She walked out and smiled softly at him kissing his cheek gently "Ready to go?"

She smiled some, leaning back into him. “I love you too.” She murmured. “We got a Lamaze class tomorrow. Kinda early but then our whole day is free.” She smiled tiredly, drifting off for a nap but she woke up less than twenty minutes later to go throw up in the toilet, calling for JD but she couldn’t grab his attention so she was sat there in pain just leaning up against the bath until he finally came in a while after she had finished puking.

Jon turned to look at her and nodded, taking her hand and heading down to the garage to get his car again, taking her to a restaurant outside of the city, just wanting the peace and quiet for once. “I’m gonna take Jack to the ball game tomorrow. He’s been chatting my ear off about it all week so I’ll probably be gonr til late. He’d asked if I can stay at theirs For dinner.” He told her once they had sat down at a table.

Max smiled happily at him as he mentioned Jack and gave him a nod "Alright well be sure to give him a hug for me." She said happily giving his hand a squeeze biting her lip gently "Would um...would you ever want to be married again?" She asked softly

JD woke up about a hour later getting up and finding Carmen in the restroom. He quickly went to her side and frowned more "Babe? Are you okay? I didn't think I was sleeping that hard...shit I'm so sorry." He said quickly to her while he checked her over

He frowned some and shrugged. “I dunno... I haven’t really thought much about marriage.... if that’s what you wanted I’d be open to it, but it’s not important to me.... I know I love you and I want to be with you.... I think marriage complicated things but it might be different this time.” He mumbled, watching her some, only looking up when the waiter came by to get their drinks order.

She frowned some and looked up at him a little. “I told you yesterday... it’s been rough from the start but it’s just getting worse.” She mumbled, leaning forward and chucking up again when the new wave of nausea hit her but it was only bike coming up now as she wasn’t keeping even water down, feeling awful.

Max listened to him intently and gave a small nod smiling a bit "Well I can understand that. I think...maybe a small wedding, or just the courthouse could be enough for me." She explained before she looked over her menu trying to figure out what she wanted.

JD frowned some and gave a nod holding her hair back as she got sick again "Babe I think you should go to a doctor if you can't hold even water down." He said quietly

She frowned and just nodded. “I’ve been trying to get an appointment.” She mumbled, rubbing at her face a little and washing her mouth out, leaning back against him and closed her eyes just taking deep breaths to try and soothe herself, relaxing a little feeling his hands over her belly until she was settled. “Thank you.” She mumbled, looking up and kissing under his chin.

He nodded some and leaned back tiredly until his phone rang and he sighed quietly but answered. “Sarah I’m busy can this wait?” He asked her, ready to hang up but frowned more as he listened to her, feeling everything stop around him and he jumped up, “I’m coming, I’ll beright there.” He told her quickly, leaving max sitting there dumbstruck as he ran off to the car, driving back into the city without any other word, breaking every speed limit to get back to the house she was living in with Jack, having to park down the street because it was all blocked off with police and an ambulance, running the rest of the way. “Let me through! Let me through that’s my son!” He screamed at the cop who was stopping him.

JD gave a small nod and helped her up giving a small sigh. He wrapped his arms around her from behind rubbing soft circles on her stomach "So Lamaze class huh? Am I gonna have to do yoga poses while learning to breath?" He teased smiling wide at her trying to brighten her mood a little bit at least

Max frowned and quickly paid for everything before she got up to leave calling Tony up "Tony? Tony I need you to pick me up, something happened and Jon just left. He got a phone call and ran out." She explained

Sarah looked at Jon as he came over clutching onto him and sobbing into his chest as the EMT's had did their best to save his son. They had been coming home from dinner at her parent's house when a black van pulled up and shot out hitting Jack multiple times and missing her completely "Why?! Why would they hurt my baby!"
