[Weapons of the Gods] Wisdom of the Wulin Sage

Wow this is really complex. Its kind of exciting :D

Did anybody check out The Enemy Game submission? That took me a long time to make...

Midori: Yes. You are part of the Xi Clan. Don't forget to buy techniques.

Lord-Leafar: Yeah you can use as both attack and defense, getting the modifiers some techniques don't work too well in defense, like ones that give additional attack wouldn't be used in defense. Or I guess if you are stunting that you use additional blocks to block.

Gotcha, I think I'm getting my ass kicked lol

I didn't realize defending unarmed would prove quite challenging, how much chi do you regain at the next turn? one of each color?

It cost 10 , but wind sweeping cloud uses a Blade Wheel or Wolf Teeth Staff, as the main weapon instead of the regular blade. But well, as a warrior, you get to start with three weapons might want to pick up one of those.

Yeah one of each color but you can use a full action and channel your hardiness to try to regain more chi of one specific color.

Don't feel bad Lord, ISP is basically just optimized for combat, there is a basic story to her but not much. She uses 3 different styles + Lightfoot.

Well that was fast lol. Anyway feeling a little sleepy, I'll resume posting more tomorrow but yeah take your time Midori, there is quite a bit to fill in.

I'm definitely getting my ass whooped, I might re-do Xiang a bit, having just one type of Kung fu is indeed a bit limiting, great fight though, I'm very excited towards starting the game.

yeah the thing is, especially early on, the idea of having multiple styles is that you can spend the other chi resources. If not you have colors that you are not going to use and basically go to waste. A style in each different color is a good deal usually.

Oh man, I like the Lore I got, but I think I'll get rid of all that just so I can get some sweet Kung Fu techniques, I guess I can always buy them later in game hehe.

Okay, I have been slowly working through the book. I got lots of ideas and slowly been paring things down into the 'Gotta Have' list, 'Want to Have' list, and 'Nice to Get Now or Soon' list. I have been holding off on the background in case I need to modify it as I pick up abilities.

Hardest part about this game is that so many abilities have a story or two associated with them, so trying to put a character together means skimming through 10 pages to get the cost of things - for each item. I still am not sure about items and equipment. Not sure if I can start with a magic sword that isn't a Weapon of the Gods, like Green Destiny from Crouching Tiger-Hidden Dragon. Maybe just get a quality or perfect item in the Possessions advantage.

Also, I might be a little heavy on defense kung-fu. Thinking about getting Music of War to add to my list and to use Gold Chi. Still have a lot of Destiny to spend, but I am sure it will go quickly with the Secret Arts.

Quality items are reasonable items to start with. Oh yeah as a courtier, yeah you need to get Secret Arts of Intrigue and the specials abilities associated with it. Of course, you could choose to not take it but it would be very hard to manipulate people without it.

The way to look at the lores, is really what do you want to do in the game. In game, you will be able to buy more destiny stuffs on the spot but well there are so many stories possible running around that we probably won't cover everything.

Something to consider when fighting people with weapons, you can try to disarm them(you can stunt your attacks in an attempt to do that), after all many of the weapons martial artist only focus their kung fu styles on their weapons. The Invincible Sword Princess is no different all her styles are used with her longsword but if someone manage to disarm her, she barely cannot do anything to defend herself with her fists (she doesn't have iron fist) or any unarmed styles.

Also another piece of advice when choosing another style, to add to your list:

Try to keep your chi rating 2 above the technique for example, if you have 3 silver chi, when you buy a silver chi style, you should stick to 1st level technique (you wouldn't be able to keep up the chi cost with higher levels techniques).

Look at the first technique, this is the most important technique of the style, because it is the one that you are going to use the most during an encounter (1 chi cost).

I think I'm definitely getting Ling Zhi Two-Finger Style, the imagery goes well with being an egotistical jerk, catching an attacker's blade with 2 fingers and laughing at your lack of skill, maybe even getting a Jade Chi style as well, better use that Might 4 to my advantage.

Indeed, a good way to take advantage of the jade chi and having the robust advantage + hardiness you can actually heal quite a lot of damage, which could be the difference between being healthy or injured.
