[Weapons of the Gods] Wisdom of the Wulin Sage

Something worth mentioning, this game also awards you for good sportsmanship. For example, if you fail ridiculously hard, as in 2 degree lower , you can describe the results of the action, think of Jackie Chan Slapstick humors in the movie for the case of combat. You will get one destiny point for accepting your failure essentially.

Where did you find a copy of the book? I'm really interested in reading it


I know its not my decision to make, but if we're going to be democratic about letting in another player: I vote yes.
 
Yeah no problem this game can accommodate up to 5 without too much difficulty. Technically they say the game can go up to six but I think that five is a good number.
 
Lazy.... Lazy lazy lazy. Make the merchant do all the running around. Paper Willow will just sit and drink her tea.


I hope I did the Inspire right, and the Spot properly. I assume I could do two actions since we aren't in combat rounds. At the table, I would have probably done one at a time, but by post I figure both in the same thread would be okay.

I have the book in PDF, that way I can read them on my iPad wherever i am and not need to take a lot of tings with me. I got it through DrivethruRPG.


I would also like to see someone else join the group. Maybe a scholar or another warrior.
 
It's fine and speed things up. Only time, there would be some strong interactions with your social skills would be against ranked npcs in the Wulin, regular people out there aren't really a big challenge. A scholar would be nice for some daoist magic.

yeah, we seem to have mostly warriors, am I right? A scholar would be good. Perhaps, we meet him when we go to the inn. He (or she) could be doing an Aragon impression (when the hobbits see him in Bree)... Just sitting there. Looking eerie. Smoking something, maybe. Then one of the more boisterous members, or Ju herself, could walk up to him and give him a, um... ungracious slap. ;)

Cool, I might try to find a PDF. There are editions of the comic online but many are quite pricey. I'm under the impression that they are fairly rare...
 
Earning Joss


I understand that if you only have 10s on a roll, you earn a point of Joss. Does that mean all the dice have to be 10s, or just the dice you use on your roll. For instance, my roll for Inspire was 4 dice. I only used the single 10 for the roll. Would I earn a point of Joss or no.


How do I know if the Joss is Xia or Corrupt. It looks like if you are doing good things for yourself it is Xia. If you are doing bad things to others it is Corrupt. I would then imagine that if you did something good to others it would be Xia. If you are doing bad things to yourself (not likely) it would be corrupt.


Also, how do you spend Joss?


Lastly, I know I want a few Lores when we get time to do training and spend my destiny points. I read you can make a roll to reduce the destiny cost by making a roll against a skill. Do I need a teacher for that? A book? How long do I need to study? I put in a list of things I want to spend time acquiring once we get some time to train in my Destiny Tab at the bottom.
 
You earn Joss if the dice you use are all 10's, if you succeed with such a roll it's Xia, if you fail, then it's corrupt Joss. At least that's how I understand the rules.

Oh sorry let see...how do you spend joss very easy:


Xia Joss can be used to add 1 die to any roll.


Corrupt Joss can be used to subtracts 1 die from any opponent roll.
 
And for the lores, it varies a lot. Usually in game, it means you need to have access to it somehow and then there would be some downtime.

Yeah, I just got absorbed in WOW RP servers (holy gosh, why did I always avoid them before?) so its surprising I found time to post up also :D


Did you know if you type Weapons of the Gods in to Google this page will pop up? Quite amazing...


Did any of the last post receive any benefits (just keeping track)? Also, where is the story headed? Asking now to see if this is a group decision of where we end up heading primarily or if that is already plotted out...
 
Decisions, I have a basic plot in mind but I like to give players choices in what they can do. As for the benefits, I'll give an update of it in the next post in game.

Coolio. So it is just something to develop as the game progresses, I guess?


I'm having a fun time trying to get my friends to RP. Holy gosh, it is ridiculously hard.
 
Yup as the game progresses. I prefer to have an organic way of doing things. Just something that you guys should know, expect a lot of the tropes from Wuxia to come up. I mean what would be point to do it without some of the tropes?
